𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐱𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦. the atmosphere was dry and was packed with sadness and guilt. emerson stood in her bare room as her mind was empty. absolutely nothing was going through it. her parents were downstairs already starting to un pack the stuff that was packed in the brown boxes. new jersey wasn't the first place where emerson thought home would be. and it never would be.

home was in north carolina. home was at the beach as the water ran over her feet as she sat watching the sun set. home was where her family was.

she wasn't no where near home. her dad had gotten a offer for a better job so that's why they moved. she wish he hadn't gotten it.

it may have made it seem selfish to think that but he knew that his daughter wouldn't be happy but yet he didn't care.

the girl pulled a strand of her brown hair behind her ear as she opened up a box full of her clothes that she put on hangers already so it can be easier.

she walked over to the closet some of the hangers placed in her hand before placing them down on the rack for them to display in all their glory.

her clothes were her most prized possessions.

time passed quickly and as soon as she knew it her room was finished as it flashed in front of her eyes. she grabbed her phone and looked at the time seeing that it was close to three in the morning.

she had school in four hours.

quickly she put her phone down on her nightstand and walked over to her closet grabbing pajamas and changing into them to go to sleep. after she was done she body seemed to be getting more tired as she laid in her bed hopping that everything that happened today was all a dream.

she wasn't stuck in new jersey she was back at home here she belonged and everything would be okay.

the brunettes eyes fluttered open as she readjusted to the light shinning in the room. she looked around her room as she realized her wish didn't come true. everything wasn't a dream and she was still there.

the seventeen year old let out a sigh before rolling out of bed and walking over to her vanity to start doing her makeup.

it was only six thirty in the morning and she was already done for the day.

it took her around twenty minutes to do her makeup and hair as she kept getting distracted by the show she was watching prompt up on her phone.

as soon as she was done she walked into her closet and picked out the outfit she would be wearing that day. these low waisted jeans that were baggy and a blue tight top to match it as she slipped on a pair of blue converse tying the laces shut before walking over to her light pink north face bag that laid on her bed.

she pulled the book bag over her shoulders before letting it hang a little on her bag grabbing her phone and car keys before heading downstairs for the first time this morning.

it was now seven o'clock as she walked down the stairs. the house was quiet her parents clearly sleeping in while she was wide awake listening to the birds sing their morning song.

she grabbed a quick protein bar before heading out to her white car. it sat in the drive way as she walked to the drivers side getting in it pushing her book bag to the passenger seat.

she put the key in the ignition turning it on after put on her seatbelt. she checked her mirror before pulling completely out and heading down the street.

the radio played quietly in the background as she starred at the road ahead of her. she had to be at school almsot thirty minutes before hand to get shown around. the doors wouldn't officially open until seven forty five. classes then starting  at eight.

it only took her around five minutes to drive since their was no traffic. quicker then what it would be the next day. 

she pulled into the student parking lot as she hopped out of the car and grabbed her backpack. she ate the protein bar on the ride there.

she walked over to the big building in front of her as she crossed the street. the traffic slowly picking up as seconds passed by her. the campus was big. the high school looked enormous even. but that was only front of it.

she walked under the over hanger as she continued walking left towards what she hopped was the main office. as soon as she reached in front of it she looked over and saw the buzzer pressed against the light brown pillar as she reached her hand out and pressed it shoving her phone in her pocket.

she waited what seemed like minutes before the buzzer buzzed loudly as she reached for the handle behind her letting her in. their was a door in front of her and to the left and right but she ultimately went towards the left door pulling the brown door open towards her body and walking in.

and soon as she did so she was welcomed to three lady's at a desk as they each were working on different things. she took a step forward approaching the first lady as the older women looked up at her.

" how may i help you " she asked stopping her thooing and standing up the make her seem taller then the seventeen year old.

" hi my names emerson drew im new here, i was told to come her at seven fifteen. " emerson concluded as the women behind the desk made a O shape with her mouth before walking away just to come back a few moments later with a folder.

the raven headed girl ultimately assuming it was for her.

" emerson drew " the older lady said in a whisper but loud enough for the young girl on the other side of the counter to hear.

she was growing impatient and she just got here.

" we're just waiting for your guide to get here " the older women told her as she handed the girl her schedule and locker combination.

as soon as the papers hit her hand they both heard a buzz sound from the same direction emerson was just previously in.

one of the lady's at the other side of desk buzzed the person in as emerson's head turned spotting a burnette walk in. her headphones placed in her ears as she pulled them out putting them away before making eye contact with emerson.

" emerson this is your guide braelynn, and braelynn this is emerson who you will be showing around. " the older women said before turning back around and walking away.

emerson looked at braelynn before the girl brushed past her heading for the other wooden door in the room holding to open for the girl to follow. emerson quickly catching up with her.

" so welcome to high school " braelynn let out as emerson followed her footsteps down the hall.

" so i'm just going to jump to chase what are you doing on the edge of new jersey, your family didn't want to go full new york or something " braelynn asked her as she stopped in the hall.

" my dad for a promotion that's what i'm doing here" emerson told her shortly before walking once again.

" let me see your schedule " braelynn asked her as emerson put the piece of paper in her hand.

the brunette scanned the paper before looking back up the girl with a smile.

" we have stats, lunch, and ap physics together " braelynn told the raven hair girl next to her.

" at least i'll know someone in my classes " emerson let out. as braelynn smiled back at her.

" i guess this means where bestfriends then " braelynn told her locking her arms with her.

" i guess so" emerson smiled lightly at the girl before walking forward with her as the brunette explained where classes were from floor to floor.
