BROTHERS.
episode two: more like sisters

❝namjoon oppa is getting cuter each day!❞

"no matter how hard i try, i cannot understand my brothers." eunhee ranted to soona, her best friend—but more like sister to her. she was lying down on her bed as soona sat beside her, listening to whatever her problematic best friend had to say.

"they don't even like to listen to me most of the times!" eunhee threw her hands up and covered her face after. "i really cannot understand them."

"maybe it's because you're one of the youngest?" soona reasoned thinking logically if she was the eldest, "i mean, i don't think i would listen to my little sister either." she shrugged as she finally laid down beside eunhee.

"you need to chill, girl."

"i don't think you understand, i am never chill. everything in life is out to get me twenty-four seven." eunhee sighed as she looked at soona, "so what should we do? our parents aren't coming back probably until tomorrow morning."

a smile crept on soona as she asked, "how many guys have you been seeing lately?" she wiggled her eyebrows as eunhee hit her to stop.

"none, na-da, no." she refused to talk about relationships since she knew that's where soona was getting to, "i haven't had another boyfriend ever since sehun and i ended."

"sehun.. –yeah i'm sorry to only say this now but," soona started, "he was kind of a jerk." they both laughed as they got back on topic.

"so.. no guys?" soona questioned as eunhee shook her head. "well.. i've been keeping my eye on someone lately ever since an incident here happened."

"incident? wait.. –here?" eunhee was confused about what soona was talking about but soon understood when giving her a shocked face, "you like one of my brothers!" she jumped off the bed and the both of them squealed.

"wait, hold up." they stopped squealing as eunhee gave her a look, "which one exactly do you like?"

"does it matter?" soona shouted and jumped, "to be quite honest all of your brothers are hot, hot, hot damn!"

"it's namjoon, isn't it." eunhee deadpanned as she stared at soona, emotionless.

soona didn't deny it. she had been crushing on namjoon for a couple of weeks now after her previous boyfriend broke up with her. it started when soona came over to eunhee's house because she wanted to be comforted on the day of the breakup, but eunhee was out with jungkook in detention. instead of eunhee opening the door, namjoon showed up and welcomed her in as he saw her face flooded with tears. they spent some time alone together since no one else was in the house. namjoon comforted her that day and when eunhee and jungkook got home, eunhee couldn't stop apologizing for not being there sooner for her best friend. she wished eunhee and jungkook would have came later though. she had been crushing on him ever since.

"but let's be real for a minute," soona tried to contain the feels, "namjoon oppa is getting cuter each day!"

after jumping and squealing around eunhee's bedroom, soona thought it would be fun to take her best friend out at the newly opened restaurant nearby where they sold japanese bento boxes. eunhee never understood why there were japanese when they were in korea, but she didn't complain since soona was paying.

they waited for a waiter to place them into their seats until they sat and each viewed the menu. soona would look up from her menu from time to time, it looked like she took an interest that was happening behind eunhee's back.

"psst!" she tried to grab eunhee's attention with half of her face behind the menu, "pssssst!"

eunhee looked up annoyed at the constant sound she was making, "what? i'm trying to pick what to eat."

"cute guy staring at you, six o' clock." soona said in a hushed tone, making sure she how she was talking to eunhee wasn't obvious. "he's been staring at you for quite a while now."

eunhee looked back which destroyed soona's secrecy and faced sungyeol staring at her a few tables down. at first she wasn't bothered by him since she wanted nothing to do with the soup-napper, but when she saw him stand up, she took alert.

"oh my god, eun, he's moving!" soona informed her as eunhee wanted to face palm herself.

"yes, i can see that soosoo!" she hissed as soona looked panicked but excited at the same time.

"maybe they might work." soona thought as she smiled, "yep, definitely."

"hey, it's you again." sungyeol walked up to their table and looked at eunhee, "i wasn't sure if it was you until you looked back." he explained.

"so, are you guys going to eat here?" he asked, "if it's alright, would i be able to sit with you guys?" he added.

soona looked at eunhee with a he's-hot-say-yes look as eunhee automatically turned him down, "sorry, but we were just leaving."

"oh.. –alright." sungyeol felt a little stung by her words, he had never been rejected to fast.

"wait.. we?" soona looked at the two with a smirk, "i think you meant just me. i need to be off now. i have some plans called professional fangirling to do."

"woah woah, wait— what!" eunhee tried to control the situation in her head while trying to keep it low to not disturb the other people eating.

"can you not like.. do public humiliation like last time again?" sungyeol interrupted her thoughts as she sighed.

"fine."

soona squealed, "so it's a date!" eunhee didn't even try rejecting anything anymore and just nodded her head.

"alrighty then, i'll be off now." soona announced as she skipped out of the resturant with customers staring at her weirdly on the way.

it was quite between the two and no one talked, this stayed like this for a while until after the waiter took their orders. they started to introduce themselves and talk about school, their siblings, and their hobbies. eunhee found him intriguing, an enigma indeed, very different from the guy she met before. they shared a couple of laughs until their food came and then it was silent again, only talking when there wasn't any food in their mouths.

"so, do you still have the can of soup you fought for?" sungyeol teased her.

she scoffled, "do you want it back?"

"no no, i was just joking." he chuckled then paused, "tell me about your brothers."

"my brothers? well.. –one of them resembles you a lot. his name is jungkook, he's about a year younger than me. everyone else is older than me; taehyung, jimin, namjoon, hoseok, yoongi, and seokjin." she continues, "i guess you can say they are pretty overprotective, always telling me what to wear and what not to wear, but i love them."

"yoongi.. sounds familiar." sungyeol thought out loud.

"yeah, he said that he attends the same university as you." she accidentally replied with rice in her mouth, "sorry."

"it's alright." he reassured her.

after finishing their bento boxes they call the waiter to pay, but apparently soona paid for them before she had left.

"that was quite nice of her." sungyeol smiled at eunhee, "saves my gas money." eunhee kicked him, while she asked him to pay soona back when he meets her again.

they walk out to the doors and outside was where they parted ways and bidded goodbyes.

"i actually had a good time today." eunhee admitted as she was him smile.

"me too."

"well.. –goodbye?" she opened her arms wide, hoping that he wouldn't find it as a straight forward move, because she only meant that as a friendly gesture.

he accepted her gesture and hugged her, "goodbye, eunhee."

they waved each other goodbye while walking until they were too far to be seen. eunhee walked home alone and tried to keep in mind to scold soona when she got into her room. she must admit, she may have fallen into his charms ever since the soup incident, but she doesn't want to say anything out loud yet.

eunhee just wonders how her brothers are dealing with maintaining the house for a few more hours without her.

"heehee?" taehyung peeped his head through eunhee's bedroom door after knocking for quite a while with no answer. he looked around her room with her no where to be found. "where could she be?" he wondered.

taehyung made plans to spend the day with eunhee and the others to binge watch naruto on the new projector in his room, but with eunhee not present, he's not sure if he still wants to continue his plans. he walks downstairs where everyone was and asked if they have seen eunhee anywhere. jimin answered him saying that she was probably out with soona.

"they shouldn't take that long outside, they'll get bored!" he thought in his head.

so he waited.

he waited until he saw it was starting to get darker, about past noon now, and he was getting worried. "namjoon, you have soona's number right? can you call her?" he asked namjoon who on his bed.

"have you tried calling eunhee first?" namjoon asked back, obviously thinking logically.

taehyung took out something from his pocket to show it to namjoon, "she left her phone on her bed."

he looks at the phone in taehyung's hand and groaned to reach for his phone and dial soona's number.

"hello, soona?" namjoon said as he heard her pick her phone up. "is eunhee with you right now? why? oh, taehyung is getting worried." he explained.

"oh.. she's on a date right now?" namjoon gulped as taehyung's eyes bulged. namjoon didn't even get to finish replying to soona when taehyung bolted out of his room to alert the others,

"sister bear is on a date! i repeat; sister bear is on a date!"
