BROTHERS.
episode five: to the rescue!

❝siri, tell us instructions on: how to crash a date.❞

jimin has just asked namjoon to call soona—as he was doing everyone a favor, "hyung, i need you to ask soona where the first place eunhee and this douchebag had their first date."

namjoon didn't hesitate to run over his phone and call the girl he had been crushing on without realizing—maybe quite literally sometimes, by accident, of course.

as he dialed the number of soona, jimin began to converse with yoongi about the motives of this guy against their only sister.

"do you think he'd try to hurt her in any way?" jimin anxiously asked yoongi, trying to be careful with his choice of words. he ruffled his hair as his mind became clouded with thoughts.he really wanted to ask things such as:

'what will that dumbass do to our sister?'

'if he's a player, you don't think he'd do anything more than hug her or anything, right?'

'can we please beat him up?'

yoongi shrugged his shoulders, as he too didn't know what the enigmatic boy could do.

"all i remember was that he was a player, he used to jump from girl to girl based on their looks and social status—it was really triggering just watching him get his ways." he cockily smiled as he wore a pissed off expression on his face, obviously annoyed with the flashback he was remembering.

FLASHBACK
a few months ago..
@ seoul university

"awh c'mon, you're wasting that pretty face of yours if you're gonna decide not to kiss me with it."

yoongi was just mopping around his school's campus when he heard a girl pleading for help, and the voice he despised ever since high school.

"please," he heard a girl plead with a croaky voice, "just leave me alone, you–.. you jerk!"

yoongi turned to the corner of the hall, and hid behind it to peek at what all the commotion was about. there, he saw sungyeol and a familiar looking girl from his ap physics class.

he saw what was about to unravel when he heard what the girl called him.

'he's gonna slap her,' he thought to himself.

yoongi felt the urge to do something, but at the same time, he did not want to get tangled into some else's personal life.

so he took his baseball cap and put it on tight while lowering his face. as he lowered his face, he quickly ran from the corner he was hiding behind, and purposely bumped into sungyeol's hand—that was in the midst of slapping the poor girl. as he bumped into him, yoongi slyly grabbed the girl's wrist and gave her a signaled look to run and follow him.

"do you mind!" he yelled out at yoongi, not noticing who he was running away from yet, "hey, i'm talking to yo—wait.. hey! come back here with her!"

he could hear the grunts of frustration and angry yelling of sungyeol trailing behind them, so he held on tightly to the girl's wrist and dashed to turn to a corner hall.

after hiding inside an empty classroom, yoongi took off his cap and looked over at his fellow classmate. worried, he asked her if she was okay.

"i'm fine now, thanks to you." she smiled weakly, as she looked down at her wrist and started massaging it.

yoongi looked over at her wrist and automatically apologized, "i'm sorry, did i hold on to it too tightly?" he held her wrist and observed it.

he then looked up to see that her face was the color of a tomato—she was flushed at the sudden skinship they shared.

'what am i feeling right now, and who is he?' the girl thought inside her head as her cheeks began to grow red.

"my name is–" the girl began to speak up with confidence.

"–what was he trying to do to you?" yoongi interrupted her without realizing she was in the middle of introducing herself.

she scratched her head in how lame she was to be interrupted and go unnoticed, "ah, he was forcing me to kiss him. it's been like this for the past week ever since i was assigned to sit beside him in my math class." she sighed.

"he'd try to have our hands touch 'by accident' during classes and bug me for my number or force me to go out with him. although, i know what he is like, and i'm not falling for his charms." she went on as yoongi let go of her wrist, and sat down on a desk near by to listen.

"he may look like some angel on the outside, with all of his cheeky smiles and soft personality, but let me tell you personally—it's just an act; he is a faker." she made sure to emphasize the word in disgust.

at this point, she looked yoongi straight in the eyes to say the exact words—the ones he told himself to remember: "girls should be aware of his true personality, so then it'll save them from all the tears and false hope i've witnessed from my own friends."

he remembered her ending that statement, "he may be with the angels, but he is not one of them."

PRESENT
back @ the kim
family's house

yoongi didn't remember much of the conversation after, but remembering that scenario and those exact words set a tick in his imaginary time bomb-brain.

on the other hand, namjoon was on the phone with soona asking about her day.

jimin began to grew impatient as he heard soona's replies over the phone, "my day has been great so far, especially now that i get to hear your voi–"

"—hyung!" jimin shouted in annoyance, "this is not why we called her, continue this later please!"

soona heard ever word over the phone, her curious ears and mind itching for answers, "oh.. what is he going on about, joonie?"

"oh, uhh–do you happen to know where eunhee and sungyeol had their first date?" namjoon asked her.

"uhm, let me think," soona was thinking hard and looking back on her texts with eunhee—this is her chance to please her namjoon-oppa.

"aha! their first date was at a park called, seonyudo park. y'know, that community park that i've been telling you about; the one with the cherry blossoms—i believe it's near your area." soona tried hinting namjoon about taking her on a date there, or just even going there with her as a secret date—so secret he doesn't even know he's on a date.

jimin mentally applauded soona for her courageous attempt, but soon after ran towards his other brothers to give him the newly acquired information they gained.

"apparently they're at seonyudo park, probably on a walk or having a picnic." jimin took a deep breath and massaged his temples.

'aish, when eunhee gets home i'm gonna make sure to hit her on her head so she can come to her senses,'

jimin thought in his head,

then make sure to hug her after and prepare her some warm passion fruit tea—her favorite.'

jimin smiled at the afterthought.

being the confused brother out of the bunch, taehyung decided to finally speak up, "uhh.. so now what?" he followed his question with a giggle to fill the silent awkwardness in the atmosphere.

"we take her back home, obviously." jin stated, as he crossed his arms and wore a stern-mother-like expression.

jungkook's face perked up as his he raised a brow, "but hyung.. i thought you let sis have your permissi–" before he could say anything else, jin covered his mouth and gave him a look.

jungkook was saddened by his eldest brother's awful decision.

'he's breaking his promise.. he promised her.'

although he too was protective of his step-sister, he always loved seeing eunhee smile.

whenever he would do his sister a favor or do something sweet towards her, he always anticipated seeing her cheeky smile. so seeing jin just break a promise like that made him sad, since he knew that all eunhee ever wanted was trust and freedom. of course he would know, he felt the same way growing up—although because of eunhee's gender he thought that it may be more complicated.

in the end, he started thinking to himself, 'should we really be protecting eunhee from other boys?'

'or should we be protecting her from ourselves?' he knew that throughout the years, them being her brother's have been tough for her—they've made her cry out of frustration and guilt before.

those were the days jungkook would not like to look back on, those were the days he still wishes he could be by her side—to wipe her tears away, and to tell her that everything was going to be okay.

he always grew jealous of his hyung's having a closer relationship towards his sister. he wanted to know what it felt like being an older brother—he felt like he had to be there for her.

his sadness and pity towards jin soon became irritation. he was tired of his hyung's treating her like that, like she was someone who they saw as weak and delicate. he knew that eunhee was independent, and that she knows how to look out for herself.

jungkook took jin's hand and pushed it off of his mouth, "hyung, don't come back to be telling me you'll regret this." he lowly-growled, as he walked away from the others to sit down on the couch.

as he walked past them, his other brothers looked at him confused.

'what's wrong with him?' hoseok mouthed to jin, while he pointed at jungkook who was in his grumpy state.

jin just shook his head and tried to dismiss the curiosity of the bunch, "let's just focus on how we're gonna get sister bear back."

"any ideas?"

a mischievous smile began to creep on taehyung's face, "how about we crash their date?"

jimin and taehyung glanced at each other after saying his thought out loud and gave each other a high-five, while hoseok, yoongi, and namjoon were feeling iffy about the idea.

"remember we're only doing this to protect eunhee, guys." jin tried to reassure the hyung line as he knew they were not certain about the idea yet.

yoongi was the first one to give in, and with that, the others followed his decision.

once they all decided to crash the date, everyone roamed around the house looking for tools and materials they might need to succeed their plan.

taehyung ran away first, looking for his water guns and micro-nurf guns, while jimin takes his red penny board with him.

meanwhile, hoseok is seen with a bag of heels and yoongi was on the floor lying down hugging a white pillow—no one dared to question them.

jin thought that bringing chilies would be a good idea, so he took some from the kitchen along with some other spicy and sour treats.

jungkook remained silent on the couch, refusing to pick anything.

finally, after they all picked out their items, they all stood outside the house and waited for namjoon, he was he last one to come out and lock the door. although, they were not expecting him to walk out with a half broken bike.

"uhm.." jungkook tilted his head in confusion.

"should i even ask." jin said, in a deadpan expression.

they all put their items in the back of the van, and took their seats inside. as jin started the engine, namjoon took out his iphone and called siri.

he looked around at his brothers as he began to feel excited just thinking around their plan,"siri, tell us instructions on: how to crash a date."

SIRI: "just burn it up."
