some days were just harder than others.

some days the emotions you'd been pushing down were too much.

bucky could see it in your eyes. he knew you'd never say anything.

he knew that you hated to "burden" him, but all he wanted was to make sure you were okay.

he knew better than to point out your unusual behavior. it didn't fix the problem, it only made you uncomfortable.

but, he also knew you well enough to know how to handle these situations without you suspecting a thing.

you sat on the couch with your knees up and your favorite blanket over your legs, mindlessly watching tv with a fallen expression you were unaware you had.

bucky sat down, without a word, and pulled you into his lap. he wrapped his arms around your mid section and rested his head on yours to see the tv.

the slow beat of his heart against your back relaxed you enough for the moment. you hadn't even realized how much you needed the physical contact until he'd given it to you freely.

you allowed yourself to just focus on bucky and soon you were feeling lighter.

your brain wandered and you suddenly turned back to look at him. bucky gave you a gentle smile, trying to analyze your expression.

he knew. you realized that he knew and you teared up a bit at the thought of it all. that somebody could know you so well and love you so much to the point where they're able to tell exactly what you need and when you need it.

when bucky saw your eyes gloss over, he gave you the sweetest kiss on your temple. you closed your eyes and laid back against him.

you couldn't imagine what these days would be like without bucky.
