Harry Winks had absolutely no idea what was happening. One moment he was attending training hungover with Dele and the next he was being pulled away for questioning from the police. Again. Harry didn't know how many times he would have to answer their same questions. It was getting boring now and he was constantly living in fear, afraid that one day they would come to arrest him for something that he didn't do.

"Harry Winks, Bamidele Alli, we need to talk to you." The London boy sighed, kicking the ball far away from where they both were, doing drills. It seemed pointless to Harry. Why were they doing drills and coming to training when the manager had absolutely no intention of playing either of them until the case was closed. By that point, Harry was convinced that he would be sharing a cell with Dele.

"We've been sent to watch over you both. We're to follow your every move for the next twenty four hours." The two police officers were intimidating to Harry. They were both large, muscular individuals and Harry knew that he stood no chance of fighting either of them.

"Why?" Dele asked, not quite understanding why the police had chosen now to monitor their every move. They were just as suspicious now as they were when the investigation started. It was all very odd timing in Dele's opinion but what did he know? Apparently being innocent and guilty were the same thing when it came to this investigation.

"You're both our number one suspects." The two officers couldn't reveal much to the two boys because they couldn't let the potential serial killers know what their plan was. That would be asking for trouble.

Harry didn't protest. He simply sighed and helped the coaches pack up all of the training kit since the session was done for the day. Harry felt like he had to over compensate. He wanted to prove to everyone that he wasn't the psychopath that that all thought he was. All Harry wanted to do was live his life the way it was before all of this happened. He missed playing football, going out for drinks after a win with his teammates and singing 'Sweet Caroline' at the top of his lungs. He missed spending time with Sonny, Tanguy and Paulo but the three of them pretended as if Harry didn't exist. It was hard to take, especially since they had all been close since day one.

"Winksy, she's going to clear your name." Dele tried to reassure his friend but it didn't work. Dele hoped that the words would reassure himself but they didn't. Dele wasn't sure how much more time he could give Harper Hayes. She had promised them that she would prove their innocence but the more time that passed by, the guiltier they were looking. Dele was beginning to think that Harper was like every other police officer he had encountered: full of lies.

"It's getting worse, Del!" Harry yelled as he packed up the last of the footballs and cones. Harry was slowly losing all hope and as much as he wanted to trust Harper, he was thinking of taking matters into his own hands. He had money, he could bribe one of the security guys to give him a solid alibi. The only reservation Harry had about the plan was that if it got out, he might as well confess to something he didn't do.

"Just sit tight. I'll see you tomorrow." Dele gave his friend a pat on the back before leaving the training centre with his assigned police officer to go home and it wasn't long before Harry did the same thing.

"There's been no body found as of yet." Howard told Harper who was sitting in her office, filling out some paperwork from a few of her past cases. Today was simply a waiting game for Harper. Everyone was waiting anxiously to see if the killer would strike again or if they already had them.

"I suppose that's a good thing." Jarper mumbled, burying herself in the paperwork so she didn't have to think about the prospect of Harry and Dele getting locked up after this. If the real murderer didn't strike tonight, it would be all over for Harry and Dele. Howard would start building his case against them and get his arrest warrant for the two of them. The murderer would still be at large and get away with framing two innocent men who didn't deserve any of this.

The station was in a buzz tonight. Every officer and detective were watching the case unfold very carefully. It was all over the papers and they were all jealous that they weren't getting to work it. Several officers had bets on who was the real culprit and many of the detectives were bugging Harper for details and asking her what Harry and Dele were like in real life.

Harper and Howard had stayed at the station all night. They wanted to be there in case any information was given to them or if anyone discovered a body but it was proving to be a very quiet and antsy night for Harper. She might have well and truly failed Harry and Dele. She had promised them that she would clear their name but with no body turning up yet, it was proving to be less and less likely that she would be able to.

"Detectives, training has started at hotspur way. no body has been found."

a/n: dun dun dun! Drama! This is kind of where the story really starts to pick up and heat up. I'm so excited for you all to read the next few chapters but you'll have to wait until next week for that!

How's everyone doing today? How's your week been? Any plans for the weekend?
- I'll be working away on my uni assignments (help!) and watching Hibs in the quarter finals of the League Cup!

Enjoy and stay safe!

Lots of love, e x
