ੈ✩˚⊹ oh god. here we are. a month later. and i can't begin to express how deeply i appreciate each and every one of you for your patience. i know, i know. it must have seemed like it was taking forever.

i can only imagine the countless times you must have checked your notifications, or maybe even stared at your screen, willing the little notification to show up with an update, with something, anything that would let you know i hadn't forgotten, that i hadn't gotten lost in the sea of other things that life loves to throw at us.

but life, as it often does, got in the way.

the real world crept in. and yet, there was never a moment where i didn't think about you all, about these covers, about the work i still had left to do. every time i sat down at my desk, the weight of all those expectations was there, patiently hovering above me, reminding me that what i was doing wasn't just for myself, but for you. the winners. the ones who had trusted me with something as personal and special as the cover of your fanfics.

to you, my dear winners, i cannot thank you enough for your understanding and your generosity in allowing me this time. i know it wasn't easy to wait, and yet you did. without complaint, without question. and that, in itself, is a kind of gift. it gave me the space i needed to really dig into the work and make sure it was something worthy of the stories you've written, the characters you've created, the worlds you've imagined.

and to everyone else who has followed along, who has supported these awards, who has cheered us on through every step of the process – thank you, too. you're the ones who made this all possible. without your enthusiasm, your dedication, and your love for these stories, none of this would exist. so to all of you, i say: thank you. from the bottom of my heart.

and from the bottom of every author, too, i'm sure.

as we look ahead to the 2025 fanfic awards, i can't help but feel a little giddy. the thought of creating more covers, of diving back into that process with new stories and new characters to bring to life, fills me with excitement. i've learned so much through this experience, and i can't wait to do it all again. i know that the next set of covers will be just as special, just as personal, just as filled with love as the ones i've just completed. and i hope, with all my heart, that you'll be there, cheering me on, supporting myself and the authors, and giving us the space to keep creating.

p.s. to those of you who didn't win a cover this time around, please don't be hard on yourselves. i know it's disappointing, but remember: you've got all year to try again!

and to the first place winners who were expecting to see their cover but didn't, well, it might just be because you didn't fill out the form. i gave you five days to get that done, and i know life gets in the way, but... that's on you, lol. no worries, though – some opportunities slip through the cracks, and it happens. don't beat yourselves up too much about it. we all miss a chance now and then, but there's always a next time. keep your chin up, and let's look forward to the next opportunity to make something magical together!
