ADELAIDE WAS PRETTY RESTLESS, twisting and turning in her bed as she tries to sleep. She was sure that she was kicking Alec or at least nudging him every few seconds. "Adelaide. You're destined for greatness." The woman says, her voice in a whisper. Adelaide groans as she brings her arms above her head. "Adelaide, you're special. You need to listen to me." She kicks her feet, bringing her leg up as she laid on her stomach. "Your power is unlimited. You can be more than what you are. You can be like my son. Like me." She states making Adelaide sigh as she snuggles her face into the pillow. "Listen to me!" Adelaide gasps, her eyes shooting open as she breathes heavily. She glanced around the room but no one was there. It was silent except for Alec who was sleeping beside her. Adelaide looks towards Alec, her body still tense.
"Alec." She says softly as she looks at the man who's eyes were shut as his head rested on the pillow. His mouth was parted open as snores left his lips every few seconds. "Alec?" Adelaide asks as she nudges him lightly which made him let out a light groan. He squeezed his eyes shut as he moved to nuzzle his head in the nape of her neck.
"Five more minutes." Alec mumbles, barely coherent as he gripped her waist. Adelaide sighs as she lays there for a few minutes, watching Alec peacefully sleep.
"Alec, I'm gonna go in the shower." She tells him as she lifts his arm off of her. Adelaide swings her legs off of the bed but not before turning back to Alec. "You need to wake up, baby." Adelaide says as she shakes the man. Alec hums, opening his eyes slightly as he stretched his body.
"Yeah, I am." Alec says, sighing as he rolls onto his stomach, spreading out more since Adelaide had left more room. "I am.." He trails off, his eyes closing again.
"I'm gonna take a shower. You have a meeting in thirty minutes." Adelaide explains to him and he only grips the sheets underneath his fingertips.
"Mhm." He mutters as he buried his face into the pillow, his body relaxing once again. Adelaide only lets out a sigh as she hears the soft snores once again. She smiles lightly, shaking her head before heading into the bathroom.
Adelaide undressed, turning on the shower and making sure it was at a luke warm temperature before she stepped in, sighing as the water hit her skin. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting the warmth over take her. Adelaide remembers when she was a little kid, she would always dream of a fairytale happiness. Magnus would always read her these books that ended with the heroes getting everything they wanted. She dreamed of the big white dress, the magical wedding, finding the person she would be with forever. The person who would go through heaven and hell to rescue her.
But that fairytale slowly disappeared as she grew older and by the time that she had moved to the institute, there was no more believing that she would get a happily ever after. Maybe if she had still believed, she would've realized that she met her prince charming. But instead, she spent five years, five years that she could have been with him, ignoring him instead. She did have a little bit of faith, a little bit of hope that it would still come true. Maybe that was why she had started to let the group into her life. Maybe that's why she let herself fall for Alec.
It wasn't until recently that she realized that maybe she did have her fairytale after all. It just wasn't exact way that she pictured it. After all, kids often imagine things that are not real and make up some elaborate story in their heads.
Adelaide opens her eyes, a sigh leaving her lips as she lets her hand run through her hair. She looks down at the floor of the shower, watching the water go down the drain. She always found it quite calming. But as she blinked slowly, she started to see mud in the drain instead. Her eyebrows furrow as she squints her eyes, seeing the drain overflow with the gooey substance, blood mixed in with it. Her eyes go wide as she lets out a scream, her hand frantically going to open the shower door.
Jace walks into the bedroom, noticing his parabatai passed out on the bed. He chuckled, shaking his head as he walks over to the man. He starts shaking him, knowing that he had a meeting soon. Alec only groans as he swats his hand away. Jace smirks, going to pull at his ear when he hears the scream. Alec was instantly awake, sitting up in his bed, his eyes wide. He shares a look with Jace before getting up quickly and rushing to the bathroom.
"Adelaide?!" Alec shouts as he opens the door, only to see Adelaide curled up in the corner of the bathroom. "Adelaide, are you okay?" He asks cautiously as he grabs the towel from the rack, bending down to hold it out to the girl. She slowly puts her knees down so that he could cover her body with the black towel. "Did something happen?" Alec questions as he helps lift the girl off of the floor. Adelaide had a death grip on him, immediately holding onto his arms.
"N-no-, I'm fine." Adelaide denies as she shakes her head, her breath still shaky as she closes her eyes.
"Why'd you scream?" Alec was concerned for her, obviously something had happened for her to have that sort of reaction.
"Sorry, did I wake you?" She asks as she looks around the bathroom, noticing Jace standing by the door, a look of concern on his face.
"I don't care that you woke me up, adelaide." Alec replies with a sigh as his hand rubs her arm soothingly.
"Is everything alright?" Jace questions as his eyes flicker between the pair. Alec notices the look on Adelaide's face and decided that it would be best to speak to her alone.
"Everythings fine, Jace." Alec promised as he keeps rubbing Adelaide's arms. "Why don't you go see if Izzy is ready for the meeting?" He questions as he looks back at his parabatai. Jace was hesitant but nodded his head, walking away from the pair. Alec turns back to Adelaide who was just staring at the ground. "You don't have to keep things from me. You can tell me anything." He assures her as he gazes down at her but Adelaide only clenches her jaw, a small scoff leaving her lips.
"Does that apply to you aswell?" Adelaide asks as she glanced up at him making the man look at her confused.
"What are you talking about?" Alec questions as he puts his hand on her cheek but she only brushes it off, clenching her jaw.
"When were you going to tell me you were offered a seat on the high Council?" Adelaide had overheard him talking to Magnus about it when he thought she was still unconscious. She was happy for him but wondered why he didn't even try mentioning it.
"Adelaide, I wasn't trying to keep it from you I just.. with everything, I didn't think it was that important." Alec admits as he shakes his head, frowning lightly. He really hadn't meant to keep it to himself, he just hadn't found the right time to say something.
"Are you gonna take it?" Adelaide asks, her eyes flickering between his and the ground. Alec only sighs as he licks his bottom lip.
"If I did, I'd have to move to Idris." He points out, not really wanting to make the big adjustment.
"It's a big opportunity. I think you should take it." She says with a tight smile on her lips which pained her to do, but his happiness was all she cared about.
"But you're banned from Idris.. we wouldn't be able to see each other." Alec points out as he shakes his head. He didn't want to have to go for long periods of time without seeing her.
"Temporarily banned." She corrects with a smile on her lips but Alec wasn't exactly happy with her response. Adelaide only sighs as she licks her bottom lip. "Alec, I don't want you to say no just because of me." Adelaide admits, her eyes moving to the floor. If Alec said no just because he didn't want to lose her, he would someday regret it and then come to resent her. Adelaide never wanted that.
"So, you're telling me to leave?" Alec asks, his eyebrows furrowed as the girl was basically just telling him to go, she wasn't even fighting to keep him there. Adelaide only lifts her hand to his cheek, stroking it with her thumb.
"I'm telling you that it's your decision to make. I don't want you to feel you have to stay for me." Adelaide tells him as she tilts her head. Alec didn't care about the job though, he didn't really have to take it, it was just offered to him. And if he couldn't bring her with him, then he couldn't care less if he lost it.
"But all I care about is you." Alec states as he takes a step closer to her, his hands resting on her hips as he leans down towards her. "I don't want to go to Alicante without you." He says making the girl slightly smile as she shakes her head. Alec only connects their lips softly, rubbing at the skin of her jaw before pulling away. "I'm not going anywhere." Alec promised her, his eyes filled with love and passion as he gazed down at her. Adelaide presses her lips together, her hand moving to his and interlocking together.
"So, you're telling me that I'm stuck with you?" Adelaide asks as she raises an eyebrow at him, putting on a fake pout making the man chuckle. He leans back down to her, a huge smile on his lips.
"Forever." Alec replies making the girl giggle before he kisses her once again. Adelaide wraps her arms around his neck, pulling him closer as the man sighs into the kiss, gripping at her hips.
It didn't matter what position he had in the shadow world. It didn't even matter that he was head of the institute. All he cared about was that one person was by his side the entire time. And that person was Adelaide Storm. He would give up everything, just to have one more day with her. Because she was the love of his life.
There was no existing without her.

MAGNUS ENTERED ADELAIDE'S ROOM, hoping to speak to the girl and finally explain everything to her. He knew it was time and if he ever had a chance of getting her to forgive him, he would have to tell he the truth. But when he walked in, he only saw Alec sitting on the bed with his eyes in a book. It didn't seem like the shadowhunter had noticed him since he didn't even glance at him. "Alexander." Magnus says, Alec immediately raising his head as he was a little caught off guard. Alec stares at him, raising an eyebrow. "Where is Adelaide?" He asks as he glanced around the room, not seeing any sign of the raven haired girl.
"In the bathroom." Alec replies as he gestures to the shut door. Magnus stares at it, fiddling with his fingers.
"Oh." Magnus replies simply as he looks down at the ground. Alec squints his eyes, seeing the man rocking back on his feet.
"Did you need something?" Alec asks him curiously as the man didn't seem to move an inch.
"No.." He says as he trails off, his eyes going back to the bathroom door.
"Magnus." Alec says bluntly making the man sigh as he clasps his hands together.
"I just came here to talk to her." Magnus admits as he rubs his palms along his arm. Alec nods his head, biting the inside of his cheek.
"By all means." He mutters as his eyes go back to the book he was ready, just as Adelaide emerges from the bathroom.
"Adelaide." Magnus says, catching the girls attention making her stop in her step. She stares back at him, immediately glaring at him.
"What do you want?" Adelaide asks harshly as a sigh leaves her lips. Magnus frowns as he takes a step towards her.
"Look, buttercup. I've come to explain-" Magnus says but she only cuts him off.
"Explain?" Adelaide asks with a scoff as she rolls her eyes. "How can you explain, you working for the seelie queen, letting her know everything about me and not even telling me when she made a deal with Valentine?" She questions as she stares at the warlock who just keeps his mouth shut. "Look, I get we defeated the enemy but you and I are done." She states as she crosses her arms against her chest, glaring at him.
"Adelaide, please. I had a reason." Magnus says as he takes a step towards her but she only takes one back.
"I don't want to hear your pathetic excuses." Adelaide snaps as she clenches her jaw. Magnus closes his eyes for a moment, shaking his head.
"I did it because she threatened to have you killed." Magnus blurts out, making Adelaide's face drop as her skin runs cold. "Look, she asked me to join her and I said no. But then she told me that if I walked away from her, if I didn't help her bring all the downworlders to her side, that she would kill you." He tells her making the girls eyes widen as she listens to him. adelaide blinks, trying to process what he just said, her eyebrows furrowing.
"So, you did it for me?" Adelaide asks slowly as she meets his eyes, but her eyes weren't as harsh now.
"Yes. Sweetheart, I was just trying to protect you because I know how the seelie queen works. I know that she could get to you even with your powers because she seemed to already know everything about you, including what happened to your mother." Magnus explains with a sigh as he looks down at the ground. Adelaide frowns as she shakes her head, why had he kept all of this from her? Instead, he could let her hate him.
"Why didn't you just tell me this?" Adelaide asks as she takes a step closer to him.
"Because she said if I even spoke a word about it to you, that the deal would be off and she'd ban all warlocks from her realm. Which is why I couldn't tell you about her deal with Valentine." Magnus states as he didn't want to put all the warlocks at risk, just to protect his relationship with Adelaide.
"You were just trying to protect them." Adelaide says with a sigh as she runs a hand through her hair. It all made sense now.
"Yes." Magnus replies as he sees the guilty expression on her face. "I don't blame you for the way you acted towards me." He states as he didn't expect anything less from her. Adelaide nods her head before she suddenly stops. He could have chosen any moment after Valentine was killed to tell her. He could have told her at the bar but instead he waited. And he waited for a reason.
"Magnus." She says, her tone a little more accusatory as she squints her eyes at him. "Why are you telling me this now?" Adelaide asks, crossing her arms against her chest. Magnus freezes, his eyes widening for a moment before he coughs, trying to keep his composure.
"Because I love you and I didn't want things to be bad between us-" Magnus says with a huge smile on his face but Adelaide only rolls her eyes.
"I can see through you like a book." Adelaide tells him as she clenches her jaw. Magnus sighs as the girl only stared harshly at him. "Magnus." She scolds making the man groan, tilting his head back as he shuts his eyes.
"The new high warlock invited me to his little gathering and I don't want to go alone." Magnus tells her as he fiddles with his fingers. Adelaide realizes why he was telling her this, immediately shaking her head.
"No." Adelaide states but Magnus only grabs a hold of her hand.
"Please, Adelaide. I can't suffer through it alone." Magnus whines as he gives her a pleading expression.
"So, you want me to suffer with you?" She questions and he only stared at her, biting the inside of his cheek.
"Yes..." Magnus trails off, his eyes moving to the floor as he sees the unimpressed face that she was giving him. "Hey, I raised you. You owe me this." He points out, getting confident and crossing his arms against his chest. Adelaide squints her eyes at him before her eyes move over to Alec who was just reading his book, not paying attention to their conversation.
"Can I bring a date?" Adelaide asks curiously, a smirk forming on her lips.
"I suppose so." Magnus says, his eyes following hers before realizing what she was getting at. Alec seemed to notice the eyes on him, glancing at the girl who was only giving him a smirk.
"Adelaide, no." Alec immediately denies as he shakes his head at her. Adelaide moves over to him, nodding her head.
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes or you find another place to sleep tonight." Adelaide states as she places a hand on her hip, her face turning more stern. Alec sighs as he knew that she would actually go through with it.
"Fine." He groans as he rests his head back on the pillow. Adelaide claps her hands as she jumps on the bed, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
"Aww, you're the best!" Adelaide says, acting like he had a choice in the matter. She smiles at him before skipping off to her wardrobe. Alec only glares at Magnus who was just awkwardly giving him a thumbs up.
"This is all your fault."
☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎
ADELAIDE WALKS INTO THE PARTY, Alecs hand resting on her back as he guided her down the stairs. Magnus was on the other side, sighing as he still would very much rather be set on fire then be there. Adelaide glances at Alec who was only keeping his eyes on the people around him.
"
Here we are." Magnus says as he stops in his place, looking over at Alec and Adelaide.
"You sure bringing me here was a good idea?" Alec asks as he didn't exactly like the looks that the passing warlocks were giving him.
"Well, I wasn't suffering alone." Adelaide tells him with a smile on her lips making Alec roll his eyes. He looks down at her for a moment, seeing the teasing glint in her eyes.
"You're gonna owe me." Alec mutters as he glanced around the party, seeing warlocks still giving him dirty looks.
"Oh, i think I already did that this morning." Adelaide says lowly into his ear making his cheeks turn red. She only giggles as she moves away from him, holding onto his hand.
"Just because you're the only shadowhunter at a party full of warlocks doesn't mean you can't have fun." Magnus points out with a shrug of his shoulders but Alec only squints his eyes at the man.
"That's easy for you to say. You've known these people for centuries." Alec says as he still felt rather uncomfortable.
"You think that's a good thing? Trust me, I don't wanna be here any longer than I have to. But it's tradition for the outgoing high warlock to pass the baton to his replacement." Magnus explains as his eyes search the crowd before landing on the person that he was hoping to avoid.
"Is that him?" Alec asks as he sees where Magnus was looking.
"The one and only, Lorenzo Rey, the new high warlock of Brooklyn." Magnus mutters as he clenches his jaw, glaring at the man who was laughing with some other warlocks.
"Don't worry, you're still the best to me." Adelaide assures him as she places her hand on his shoulder. Magnus only glances at her hand before meeting her eyes.
"That does nothing to help me." Magnus retorts with a blunt voice making Adelaide squint her eyes. She just gives a tight smile before her eyes flicker to Lorenzo. Adelaide suddenly smirks as she thinks of an idea.
"Lorenzo!" She shouts, getting the warlocks attention who seemed to have immediately noticed Magnus.
"Magnus. Magnus bane." Lorenzo calls out as Magnus all but glares at the girl next to him. Adelaide only cocks an eyebrow up at him, placing her hand on her hip.
"You little-" Magnus starts to say before Lorenzo stops in front of him, forcing him to put on a smile.
"You made it and you brought a friend." Lorenzo says as his eyes land on Alec who just gives a smile.
"Actually, that was me." Adelaide states as she puts her hand on Alec's back. The man clears his throat, holding out his hand to the warlock.
"Hi, I'm-" Alec starts to introduce himself but Lorenzo only cuts him off.
"Alec Lightwood, head of the new York institute. I expect we'll be seeing quite a bit of each other at your downworld cabinet meetings." Lorenzo says as he stares at the Lightwood before his eyes flicker to Magnus. "No hard feelings, right Bane?" He asks, his voice slightly cocky as he smirks at the warlock.
"On the contrary, I'm very content in my new position. Being the high warlock is a thankless job. Long hours, little pay. But I'm sure it doesn't matter to a young, civic-minded person like yourself." Magnus retorts, trying to remain civil but he could feel his fingernails digging into the palms of his hands.
"Oh, don't be so jaded. I may only be four hundred and eighty four but I'm not a stranger to service. All those years working for the high warlock in Madrid have prepared me well." Lorenzo says as he moves his eyes back to Alec who nods his head, but he had given Adelaide an annoyed look when Lorenzo wasn't looking. "Although, I may not be so easy on you as he was. Afterall I'm here to service warlocks. Not portal you around like some glorified shuttle service." He states as he squints his eyes at Alec who only chuckles but it was far from humorous.
"I wouldnt have it any other way." Alec replies with a smile on his face making Lorenzo nod his head. Adelaide knew Alec was forcing it so hard.
"In that case, I look forward to our first cabinet meeting." Lorenzo replies before his eyes move to Adelaide, a small smile on his lips. "Oh, young Adelaide. I haven't seen you since you about this high." He says, putting his hand near his waist which makes Adelaide only give a tight smile back. "You've come quite a long way since then." Lorenzo points out as he crosses his arms against his chest.
"Yeah, I have." Adelaide says with a nod, not knowing what exactly he was referring to, and she did sense the tone of hostility in his voice.
"Ooh, I heard you were banned from Idris." Lorenzo says as his eyes look at her black fingertips. Adelaide bites the inside of her cheeks as Lorenzo takes her hand in his, moving his over them before the colour fades.
"Wha- how-" Adelaide asks with her eyes wide as even she hadn't been able to do that.
"Maybe if you were practicing your magic, you would've been able to do that too." Lorenzo says, as any warlock can use their magic to fight against others but healing yourself was a whole nother thing that she just hadn't had time to learn.
"Yeah, you got me there." Adelaide mutters as she glanced down at the ground.
"But I'm sure you been busy... Being a shadowhunter and all." Lorenzo says, distaste clear in his voice as he flickers his eyes to Alec for a moment. Adelaide squints her eyes, crossing her arms against her chest.
"You should thank us for getting rid of valentine." Adelaide retorts as they were the only reason why Valentine didn't succeed with his plan to wipe out of all the downworlders.
"Hm." Lorenzo sighs as he stares down at her before stepping closer to her and moving down to her ear. "Sooner or later, you're gonna have to choose between us and them." He tells her, pulling back and seeing the glare that she gave him. Lorenzo puts on a smile as he moves his eyes between the group. "Enjoy." He says before moving past the group. Alec waits until the man is out of earshot before he lets out a scoff.
"Who appointed him?" Alec asks, his tone not highly enthusiastic as he looks towards Magnus.
"Nobody. There was vote and Lorenzo can be very charming." Magnus replies as he glares at the back of Lorenzo. Adelaide only snorts, shaking her head. Who would possibly ever vote for that man?
"I know that can't be true." Adelaide mutters as she clenches her jaw. Magnus only shrugs his shoulders, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, as long as your into phony, no taste, egomanical pieces of--" Magnus is cut off by Alec who noticed that Madzie was making her way over to the group.
"Language." Alec states making Magnus stop, seeing the little warlock aswell.
"Alec!" Madzie shouts happily as she runs to the shadowhunter. Alec bends down as the girl gets to him, picking her up and spinning her around. Adelaide smiles lightly at the interaction.
"Madzie." Alec responds before putting her down and bending down so he was at her height. "Hey, my favorite little sorceress." He says with a large smile on his face. Madzie giggles before looking towards Adelaide, rushing into her arms.
"Adelaide!" Madzie says, hugging the girl tightly and Adelaide laughs, wrapping her arms around the girl.
"Hey, little rockstar." Adelaide replies as she smiles down at the little warlock. Madzie grabs a hold of Alecs hand again, practically jumping as she looked at him. Adelaide was about to say something else when the room shakes causing her to gasp, holding onto Alecs arm as Alec protects Madzie.
Suddenly, everyone who tried to use their magic only created sparks making Adelaide's eyes widen. "I'm out of here." Rufus opens a portal that starts to eat away his hand making him scream out in pain. The portal suddenly heads towards Alec making Adelaide's eyes widen. She goes to stop it but her magic didn't seem to be working either.
Magnus gets in front of them, trying to use his magic but luckily the portal disappears before it could do anymore harm.
"
Whats going on?" Alec asks after a moment of silence, his arms still wrapped protectively around madzie as he glanced between the two warlocks.
"I have no idea." Magnus responds as he looks towards Adelaide who's eyes were wide open. This was definitely not something to just skim past, something was in New York and was strong enough to corrupt the magic ley lines.
☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎
AS THEY LAY ON THE BED, Adelaide had her chin rested on Alec's chest as her fingers draw along his runs that littered his arms and shoulders. Alec only smiles down at her, his eyebrow raised lightly as he watched her eye follow her finger. "What are you doing?" Alec asks curiously which made the girl bite the inside of her cheek, continuing on with what she was doing and not even glancing up at him.
"Tracing your runes." She states the obvious as she bites her bottom lip. Alec squints his eyes lightly, his hand resting on the lower part of her back.
"Why?" Alec questions but the girl only lets out a sigh as she glanced up to meet his eyes.
"Because I like doing it." Adelaide replies with a smile on her lips but she could see the skeptical look he was giving her.
"You usually do it when you're trying to stall." Alec tells her making the girl stop what she was doing for a moment, her body tensing. She holds her breath underneath his gaze before she licks her bottom lip.
"Okay, you're right." Adelaide admits making the man get a little bit concerned.
"What is it?" Alec asks as he brings his hand up to brush the hair out of her face as she lifts her chin off of his chest.
"It's nothing bad." Adelaide assures him as she sits up slightly, her hand resting on his chest. Alec furrows his eyebrows as he nods her head, silently telling her to continue. "I just uh.. found us a place." She tells him hesitantly making the man only look back at her. Adelaide couldn't pinpoint what he was thinking as his facial expression was blank. But suddenly he smiles, his finger running along her thigh.
"Like an apartment?" Alec asks as he wraps his arm around her waist, pulling her close to him. She giggles as she places her hands on his shoulders.
"Mhm." She hums, her eyes flickering down to his lips as she leans closer to him. "No distractions. No noise. Nothing interrupting us." Adelaide points out with a smirk playing on her lips. Alec chuckles as he holds her hips, pressing her body against his.
"So we have a place together, hm?" Alec questions as he lets his lips brush over hers.
"Finally." Adelaide mutters before connecting their lips deeply. Alec immediately kisses back, his hand gripping the fabric of her shirt as he moves his hand down her back. Adelaide moves her hands to lift up his shirt, revealing his abs. She pulls away from his lips, moving down.
"What you've traced all the runes on my arms?" He teases her as he smiles down at her. Adelaide only meets his eyes, giving him a smirk as she shakes her head.
"Oh, I'm not doing that anymore." She says, her voice slightly seductive as she plants her lips on the line of his abs. Alec goes a little bit red as he feels the girls lips on his skin, trying to kiss every bit there was. He bites his bottom lip as he runs his hand through her hair, gripping it lightly.
"Alec?" A voice asks as there was a knock on the door. Adelaide only gives him a cheeky smirk as she goes to unbutton his pants but he quickly grabs her hands. Alec pushes her lightly against the bed before pulling his shirt down.
"Yeah, come in." Alec replies as Adelaide only glares lightly at her boyfriend. Alec only clears his throat, sitting up as Jace enters the room. He goes to speak until he sees Adelaide next to Alec, the girl not exactly looking pleased.
"Oh, sorry. Did I interrupt something?" Jace asks as he flickers his eyes between the two. Alec goes to shake his head but Adelaide had only rolled her eyes
"Not anymore." Adelaide mutters as she stares down at her hands. Alec clears his throat, rubbing his neck as he ignores the girls comment.
"What do you need?" Alec asks his parabatai who seemed rather nervous for some odd reason.
"Um.." Jace rubs his hands together, his eyes meeting Alecs curious ones. "What's a good restaurant?" He asks the man who just tilts his head slightly.
"For what?" Alec questions.
"Uh.. I uh.." Jace stutters, becoming tense even though he wasn't even asking anything serious. Adelaide seemed to put the clues together though as she chuckles underneath her breath.
"For taking Clary out on a date." Adelaide teases with a smirk on her lips making Alec raise his eyebrows as he looks at Jace who had gone red.
"You, shut up. Im not asking you." Jace states as he stared at Adelaide with an accusatory gaze while pointing his finger at her.
"But any restaurant he's been to, I've been too." Adelaide points out as she stared at Jace who only rolls his eyes a little bit.
"I don't care." Jace retorts making Adelaide clench her jaw before thinking of something. She only smirks lightly at the blonde as her hand goes up to Alec's jaw.
"You know what? Alec and I actually were busy so if you don't mind-" Adelaide starts to say as she takes Alecs focus away from his parabatai. Jace groans, tilting his head back with a frustrated expression on his face.
"Fine, yes. I want to take Clary out." Jace snaps, cutting her off and she only gives a victorious smile as she sits back against the bed.
"What does she like?" Alec asks after a moment, breaking the silence. Jace just stands there for a moment, his eyebrows furrowing.
"Uh, I'm not too sure." He admits making Alec poke the inside of his cheek with his tongue.
"Okay.." Alec trails off, thinking to himself as he squints his eyes lightly. "Then maybe go to Neon Lights. It has a little bit of everything but it's still classy." He suggests only for Adelaide to put her hand on his arm.
"No, babe. That's closed for renovations." She says with a shake of her head making Alec nod his head as he remembered. "Try La'Riveria. It has broad options too." Adelaide says as she turns her head to Alec who seemed to be thinking about the same thing. "And it's really good." Adelaide admits as she runs her hand down Alecs chest, biting her bottom lip as she gives Alec a lust filled look. When they had a date at the restaurant, let's just say they didn't exactly finish their meal and instead went straight to dessert. Suddenly, she is hit with a pillow when Alec starts to lean closer to her. Adelaide flickers her eyes to the culprit. "Hey!" She shouts as she glares at the blonde who was only smirking at her. "We already gave you one so shoo." Adelaide says as she waves her hand at him. Jace only scoffs, shrugging his shoulders.
"What if I want to hang out with Alec?" Jace retorts as he crosses his arms against his chest, cocking up his eyebrow. Adelaide only squints her eyes at him, biting the inside of her cheek
"No, he's with me." Adelaide states as she shakes her head. Jace only scoffs as he stared back at her.
"He's my parabatai."
"He's my boyfriend."
"I've known him longer."
"I have sex with him." Adelaide smirks victoriously as Jace just stands there, not being able to say something in defence. Adelaide chuckles as she gestures to the door. "Don't you have a date to plan?" She asks him as she raises an eyebrow, her voice cocky.
"You're so annoying." Jace groans as he crosses his arms against his chest
"You're annoying." Adelaide retorts with a scoff as she glares at the man.
"You're both annoying." Alec interjects as he closes his eyes for a moment. Jace only rolls his eyes before exiting the room hastily, slamming the door behind him. Alec lets out a breath, glad that was over as his eyes move to Adelaide. He bites his bottom lip as he puts his hand on her thigh, moving his lips towards hers. She only puts her hand on his lips making his eyebrows furrow.
"Nope." Adelaide states as she gets up from the bed, leaving a bewildered Alec sitting there alone.
"Wha-" Alec starts to ask but she only faces him, placing her hand on her hip as she tilts her head at him.
"You called me annoying." She tells him making him groan as he looks at her.
"Seriously?" He asks as he raises an eyebrow at the girl, not knowing if she was being serious or not.
