JOCELYN MILLER the daughter of an highly decorated police officer who had not been on duty for a long time as he was retiring.

She was his pride and joy and he was glad that she was following in his footsteps. He knew that it wouldn't be easy for Jocelyn, but he also knew that she would make her way - as she always did.

Jocelyn was a fighter. After the death of her mother and little sister, she swore to protect her father and little brother. Even though it should have been her father who protected his now small family, in the end it was Jocelyn who put an end to all the terror. She overpowered the perpetrators who had killed her mother and little sister and proved to her father that she had what it takes to become a police officer.

And indeed, 10 years later, she stood before Captain Anderson and declared herself ready for duty. Captain Anderson, who knew her father very well, immediately recognised that his daughter was the right person for the job and placed her complete trust in her from the very first second. Jocelyn had already heard a lot about Captain Anderson and was exited to see what else she could learn from her.

Her classmates, Officer Chen, Officer Nolan and Officer West, were happy that they would be working together in the future and Jocelyn was also looking forward to their time together.

There was only one thing she wasn't entirely happy about - her instructor.

TIM BRADFORD Sergeant Grey's best officer and probably one of the best instructors a rookie could get. Jocelyn envied her friends when they were assigned their instructors, because at least they looked halfway friendly. Tim, on the other hand, looked like he had bitten into a lemon and that was already weighing heavily on Jocelyn's stomach. The only reassuring thing was that he was just as unhappy as she was.

Her surname sounded familiar and he was sure that her father had once been a well-known and very good police officer. And he was just as sure that she had only gotten this job through her father. But if he knew that this woman had already been through hell, he wished that he had tucked his thoughts about her far away in the back of his mind and not formed a hasty opinion.

Because that was exactly what he had done. He had formed a hasty opinion, which he quickly discarded, because he realised during their first ride together that she could possibly became a world-class police officer after all.

She had the speed, the understanding, the intelligence, the courage, the knowledge and, above all, the necessary assertiveness and the ability to get things done. In some situations, she reminded him a little of himself and at some point he was even glad that she had become his Rookie. But he didn't show her that. Instead, he tried to throw her off track with his so called โ€šTim tests' but it seemed as if she was immune to them. So far, no one had ever been as cold to his jibes and stupid remarks as Jocelyn was.

And after a few months of working together and being โ€šfriends', they were assigned to a mission that required them to work closely together. And it was on this mission that they both realised that unspoken feelings had formed over the last few months that were now threatening to come to surface. Jocelyn was afraid to admit her feelings and Tim seemed to feel the same way.

But she really had other things to worry about, because this mission had taken a lot out of her.

I've decided to write a The Rookie fanfic and I'm honestly so so exited! I love this series sm and since this idea has popped up in my head, almost a million times the last few months, I now found the motivation and time to start writing this.

I know it's not usually and normally the type of series I write about, but I just thought I might give it a try and see how it turns out.

The only problem is, that I don't know exactly on which days I can update this story, cuz I work a lot and I'm always pretty tired after work, so it will be difficult, but I'll try to update as much and as soon as possible! And of course I will give my very best to write this story as good as possible.
