Maggie threw her keys on the coffee table in the living room of her flat before sitting down on her couch, resting her feet from a long day at work, serving many different types of people. It was part of her job as a waitress. She had come across the rudest of people on a daily basis and some of the nicest people. It was exhausting.

She was just about to turn on the tv when her phone rang. Looking at the caller ID, she groaned when she saw that it was none other than Jamie Vardy.

"Jamie, what do you want?" The girl groaned into her phone, wanting morning more than to watch a bit of TV before having a long, relaxing bubble bath to unwind from her hectic day.

"Hey Maggie. Nice to talk to you too." He laughed sarcastically on the phone and Maggie simply rolled her eyes, hoping that he would just get to the point of why he was calling so that she could get back to her evening.

"I was wondering if you could come pick us up from training. Rebekah was going to do it but she's caught up with the kids. would you mind?" Maggie used all of her remaining energy to get herself off of the couch and leave her flat to collect the Leicester striker.

"Yeah, no worries. I'll be there as soon as I can." She replied, hanging up and completely missing the fact that Jamie had used the word 'us' instead of his usual 'I'.

Pulling up to the training centre in her beat up but very loved car, Maggie waited patiently for Jamie to arrive, however, when he did, she noticed the other two bodies beside him.

"Thank you so much Mags, you're the best." Jamie smiled at his friend, pushing Ben to sit in the front beside the brunette girl and Maggie decided that he was as bad as his wife. They were desperate to set Maggie up with someone and they would stop nothing until it happened.

"We've got the whole crew today, have we?" The young girl turned to face her friend, her eyebrow quirked upwards at him.

"I said 'us' in the call. Your fault for not listening." Jamie retaliated and she nodded her head, smiling as she started the engine and pulled away from the expensive, luxury training centre.

"Who's getting dropped off first?" Maggie questioned, looking in her rear view mirror at the two boys in the back of the car, one of them she recognised as James Maddison, Leicester's star midfielder and she had met him at the barbecue a few weeks ago.

"You should probably do me and then James with Ben last since I'm furthest away and Ben's the closest to where you stay." Jamie spoke up, knowing where the other two boys stayed since he had been there plenty of times.

Maggie drove the three boys, humming along softly to the songs playing on the radio since the two boys in the back were so tired from training but Ben was listening intently to the soft hums coming from the girl beside him.

"See you later Vards." A chorus of goodbyes rang out when Jamie exited the car and into his house, leaving just Maggie with Ben and James.

"What have you been up to today?" The brunette boy sitting in the passenger seat asked quietly whilst James smirked at his friends poor attempts at getting to know the girl that he was so interested in.

"Really? That's what you've got?" Maggie shook her head and laughed to herself as she continued to drive in the direction of James' house. Ben only shrugged so Maggie nodded her head, accepting that that's the best Ben had.

"Well, I was working all day today. I won't ask you what you've been doing since I already know you were training." The brunette boy nodded his head at the beautiful girl beside him. It was getting dark and the headlights of the other road users lit up and illuminated her skin in the soft glow.

"I've got a question for you. Why are you so interested in trying to get to know me if you don't have any ulterior motives like you say?" Her blue eyes stayed concentrated on the road in front of her as she awaited his answer.

"Remember when we were at the awards night?" Ben waited, watching as Maggie nodded her head and completely forgetting that his best friend was still in the car with them.

"And I said to you that there were nice people in the world. that's what I want to prove to you. you've obviously been hurt in the past but I want to show you that there's a whole world out there where the good people massively outweigh the bad people." Maggie processed Ben's words, wanting to believe him but not quite sure if she could.

"And how do I know that you're not lying?" She questioned, removing her eyes from the road briefly and taking in how the streetlamps softly glowed, the light enhancing his features.

"He has a tell. His lip twitches when he's lying and I can tell you, Ben doesn't lie often." James informed Maggie, trying to stand up for his friend and help him out as much as he could.

"Okay. Suppose you're not lying, how are you going to show me what the world is really like?" Maggie challenged once she had dropped off James at his also ridiculously big house.

"I didn't think that far ahead. I thought that I would still be trying to convince you six months from now." Both brunettes let out a laugh at how unexpected this turn of events was.

"How about I give you my number and when you've thought of something, you text me?" Maggie suggested and without trying to seem too desperate, Ben nodded his head eagerly at the suggestion.

The pair exchanged numbers once outside Ben's house and just as he was about to close the door to the passenger side, Maggie stopped him.

"Goodnight Ben." She smiled softly at him and he felt his heart flutter. He was the only one that she had given a genuine farewell to.

"Goodnight Maggie." He returned the gesture and walked towards his front door and as he turned around to close it, Maggie's car was gone.

a/n: they're not even together and i already find them way too cute!

if you could play in an position (in football) what would it be and why?

i reckon midfield or winger would be fun. i don't have the courage to tackle or try and score so i think midfield would work for me lol.

enjoy and stay safe!

lots of love, e x
