Chapter 59- Unexpected Saviour

My face went bloodless with his words. Both mine and Jungkook's hands were lingered together like they were stuck with glue. This man is under Ki Sung Of course, Now what? My mind was yelping from inside,

We are doomed, we are doomed, we are so so doomed...

My words didn't support me to talk. The man didn't look like he wanted to move away from us. Jungkook didn't utter to speak a word either. He was  frozen in his place. Through all this, something happened to make the situation even worse. Ki Sung's men started heading in this direction, to the cafe we were. There was no way to run outside. This freaking man was right in front of us and more were heading in this direction.

What are we going to do?

We both were basically trapped inside the shop. I was quailing descrying the black suited men who were storming towards us.

There's no way Jungkook can fight all of them, and me? What can I do? I can barely punch a man and make him fall. Yeah, maybe I can kick someone's balls. Believe me, I highly doubt that I can do it either,

I had never fought before. And the only time I tried to do it ended up nearly killing me and putting others to a tragic fate. The situation right now is two hundred percent failure,

That man, Sung-Jin glanced at the door, noticing the group of men heading towards the cafe. He then flickered at us, right before the men entered, he grabbed from both our collars and pushed us both inside a room behind us. He snatched the phone away from Jungkook before he could do anything about it. Sung-Jin slammed the door shut, locking us inside the small space, not giving us a chance to react even.

I stood like that for a solid minute in the semi-dark storage room, brooding about what happened just a second ago. Did he just push us inside and lock up? Great, we are prisoners now. And it's not only me Jungkook is here as well, Once again he was in trouble because of me,

"Y/n, are you ok?" I heard his soft whisper. I turned my face to him. Even from the fainted light that poured through the small window, I could see his perturbed face.

"Why did he do it?" I stared at him with dumbfound. His lips pursed to a thin line. He kneeled down and placed his ear on the wall of the metal door, trying to listen to their conversation. I could barely hear what they talking about since their words were forming to a silent whisper as they pass through the thick walls.

"He's either handing us over to Ki Sung or trying to help us, I'm not sure about what he's saying, it's not clear," Jungkook stood up from his position and glanced at me. I nervously bit my lip with agitation. Maybe, he is trying to help us? But how can we even trust anyone in this city?

Jungkook tried to find a way to escape. His phone was taken so he didn't have chance to call the others. The room was so small. It was crowded with various racks that were closely placed near by near. He carefully glided his body through them, without making any noise, to reach the other end of the room to find a crack or a door to escape, It was no use after all. There was only one single window and it was only enough for a cat to slid in. Two built humans couldn't squeeze inside it unless we have a superpower or something.

He caught his hair, frustratingly groaning because of the hopelessness. I heaved a sigh. Why does he have to go through all this because of me? I felt great hate towards myself. He leaned his back against the cold wall and closed his eyes. After a while, he spoke quietly,

"I'm sorry Y/n, I couldn't do it, I couldn't protect you,"  his words reminded me of my dead father. He said the same thing before leaving me. No, you aren't leaving me Jungkook. I stepped near him and took his hand between mine.

"Don't say that, we'll find a way out," Even I knew there's no escape, I wanted to comfort him at least from my words.

He beamed at me. His innocent doe eyes were pleading for forgiveness. I was scared, so scared, but I was at least not alone at the moment. He placed his head on top of mine, caressing my back as I slanted my head on his chest. At least, we'll face this together,

After a while, we heard the door clicking. It opened with a small noise.  I crooked my eyes to get a glimpse of the man who entered as the bulb lit up the room. He locked the door behind him as he got inside, carefully peering inside the cafe to make sure no one was watching him. I gulped in nervousness thinking what was going to happen next. Jungkook glared at him like he wanted to burn him to ashes. He stood covering me from the front.

"What do you want? Just stay away from her!" He snarled at the man. The older man hauled his leg with him as he walked near us. He glanced at me,

"First answer my question, are you Oh Y/n? The girl who escaped that day?" My throat went dry as he questioned me.

"It's none of your business," Jungkook snapped at him. I wrecking because of nervousness. But what if this is our chance to get away? At least I'll be able to let Jungkook off the hook if I try, I patted Jungkook's arm, trying make him calm down.

"Yes, I am Oh Y/n, niece of Oh Ki Sung," somewhat confidence was bedaubed in my words. Whatever comes ahead, I will have to face it either way.

"Y/n-" Jungkook was cut off by the man, not letting him speak even,

"So it is you, it's really you. I knew you would survive. That day after those boys let me go I kept thinking about it over and over again. I saw how you changed once I said your father's name. And after I heard what happened to the house his best team lived in, I knew my guess was correct,"  He talked quite fast. Why is he telling all this? I glanced at him with confusion. He looked straight at me and shot me his one last question,

"Why are you here?"

I was silent for a moment. I had no idea whether he was trying to help us or not. But I answered him, Yes, I'm here for only one thing, "I'm here for him, to complete the task given to me and finish Ki Sung," my words were bold. I couldn't believe that it was me who was speaking at that moment. Kang Sung-Jin stared at me for a moment, it looked like he was peering inside my soul to scrutinise my true intentions. He checked his wristwatch and again glanced at me. He said only two words,

"Follow me,"

He gestured us to come out from the storage room with him. Can I trust him? He's really trying to help us? But why? There was no time to think. I had to decide quickly. Can I trust my instincts?  I made up my mind to do this, having no other option but to have faith in myself and intuition. Before I could step outside, Jungkook caught my wrist,

"Y/n are you sure about this?" He asked worriedly.

"Is there another choice?" He heaved a sigh. He acquiesced and followed me from behind, walking out from the dark storage room.

Ki Sung's  men had disappeared from the shop at that moment. Only the usual morning customers were there. Ignoring their weird glances, The man led us to the back side of the building. A truck was stopped there with two boys  loading the goods to it. Jungkook wobbled his cheeks nervously. Sung-Jin stepped near them,

"You can leave now, I'll take care of it from here," younger ones stared at with confusion. One of them tried to ask what was happening,

"But-"

"Didn't you hear what I said? Move now," He yelled at them making them rush away from us, in to the cafe. They didn't even spare a glance at us since they were in a urge to move without pissing off their boss.

"Get in the back, where are you heading to?" He asked. My guess was right, He is on our side, but why?

"Why are you helping us?" I glanced at the old man. Jungkook looked suspicious about the unexpected favour we received. He was holding my hand tightly not letting me go. The man heaved a sigh and turned towards me,

" Because I want to see the end of this Miss Y/n, I want to see the end of this shit and live the rest of my short life in peace," The sickness and weariness of his life were confined in those words. Everyone was sick of living under the restraint of Ki Sung. They were fatigued with living in fear and discomposure of the Mafia that were over their heads. He thinks that this is his chance to elude Ki Sung's clout, Just like the boys.

The man's voice urged us to move, "Come on, the time is limited, we have to get you out of here quickly," I nodded at him and I glanced  at Jungkook. He let out a sigh,

"We are heading to the Kim Mansion, Lane twenty-four," He answered him telling him the address.

"I know that place. Come on hurry up," Opening the backside door of the truck, he let us in. After I and Jungkook took cover behind the large cardboard boxes filled with packets of flour, he shut the door.

I felt the vibration of the engine as started moving. Jungkook was as nervous as me. We were holding onto each other as the truck was slowly moving forward. I felt like my heart stopped beating as the truck stopped at one point. This must be the checkpoint, I heard a rough unfriendly voice from the front,

"What's inside the truck?" I hold my breath and heeded my ears to the conversation. I felt my forehead sweating because of the nervousness.

"It's the goods he ordered to me, for tonight deals," God damn are these drugs then? Should have guessed earlier,

"Open up the door," I gasped in horror as I heard the stern order of the man. But before he opened it, another voice interrupted.

"Wait! you are Sung-Jin right, I'm so sorry for the interruption, You idiot why the hell are you doing? Let him go. Do you know who he is?" An unfamiliar voice interfered. Jungkook was leaning towards the front and listening carefully. The first voice immediately apologized with the acknowledgement,

"I'm so sorry sir, I didn't know it was you, Go ahead you can leave, sorry for keeping you waiting," only after the vehicle started running again, I released my long-held breath. Jungkook heaved a sigh in relief.

We were able to make it to the Kim mansion without any disruptions. After the truck stopped, Sung-Jin, the man who helped us opened the door letting us both out.

"I almost forgot," He fished out the phone that belonged to Jungkook and handed it to him.

"I didn't want you to call the others and make any chaos," He said as Jungkook took it from his unfolded palm.

I bowed at him to show my gratitude towards him, "We will never forget what you did, how can I repay you?" For the first time, I saw a smile on his wrinkled face.

"Just promise me that I'll get good news by tomorrow morning," a smile twisted my lips as I perceived what he meant by those words. From another way he meant,

Kill the bloody Mafia King
