          ANUBIS HAD PREPARING FOR HIS DEPARTURE SILENTLY SINCE ISIS HAD ARRIVED. HE HADN'T TOLD BONNIE YET SINCE THEY WERE STILL GRIEVING ABOUT JEREMY AND ELENA  HAD TURNED OFF HER HUMANITY. IT WAS A MESSY WEEK IN MYSTIC FALLS AND ANUBIS HAD NO PART IN IT AS USUAL. Anubis was sitting on the bench in the park in Mystic Falls when he felt a shadow over him. He was reading a book and he slowly put it down to reveal an annoyed blonde, Caroline. 

"Hello, Caroline," Anubis greeted as he closed his book and put it next to him and held his hands, "How can I hello you?" 

Caroline sighed, "I need you to do me favor," she started. 

Anubis looked around, "Why would I do that?" he asked curiously. Caroline didn't annoy him, in fact, he liked Caroline, she was kind and cared about her friends and she was unusually happy most of the time. 

"Because I know something everybody else doesn't," Caroline answered with a smirk on her face, Anubis sat up straight and furrowed his brows in confusion. 

"And that would be?" Caroline proceeded to take the seat next to him, her blonde hair was down past her shoulders which she flipped over her shoulder. 

"I know about your little friend Isis and the visit the she gave you," she started, "I also noticed how you've been distancing yourself and packing. Then I realized, that you're planning to leave and you haven't told anyone, not even Bonnie which could get you in big trouble with her," 

Anubis took a deep breath, today he was wearing a sweater and jeans that Damon had given him which belonged to Alaric, "How do you know this?" 

"I know everything, Anubis," Caroline answered nonchalantly, "Anyway it's a dick move, you're just going to leave Bonnie and not say anything. She really cares about you Anubis, all she ever does it talk about you," 

The comment made Anubis' heart skip a beat, "What do you want?" 

Caroline rolled her eyes, "Way to change the subject," she added, "Anyway, I need you to take Bonnie to prom," 

"Prom?" Anubis questioned, "Nope, no chance, I don't do celebrations," 

Caroline slapped his arms, "Come on, I need to figure things out and Bonnie has been sulking ever since and she needs someone she likes and knows to take her, please?" 

"What about Matt?" Anubis asked while looking at Caroline. 

Caroline said, "He's apart of a plan and he won't be able to take Bonnie," Caroline answered, "Please Anubis! I won't bother you ever again and it'll give you some time with Bonnie before you leave,"

Anubis rolled his eyes, "Fine, I'll ask Bonnie to the prom," 

Caroline quickly hugged Anubis with a large smile on her face, "Oh, I can't wait! You guys are going to look so cute together! Anyways, I got to go and get ready, see ya later!" In a few seconds she was gone instantly. Anubis grabbed his book and grabbed a random tulip that he had seen in the park. Once he got to Bonnie's house, he held the yellow tulip behind his back. 

He got into his room and decided to get dressed once he knew Bonnie was going to leave. He got into a tux that he had gotten and put it on with a pair of brand new dress shoes. He sprayed some cologne on himself and looked in the mirror once last time. Anubis stepped out of his room and caught Bonnie. 

She wore a dark blue dress and her ebony hair was curled to one side and she stopped once she saw him. A smile appeared on both their faces and Anubis was completely speechless, "Bonnie, you look beautiful," 

Bonnie chuckled, "You clean up pretty good, Anubis," 

Anubis grabbed the tulip that he had gotten earlier and handed it to Bonnie, "I know it's not a corsage but I thought It would be nice as your prom date," 

"Prom date? I don't remember you asking me," Bonnie said with a little bit of sass. 

Anubis chuckled, "Well, it's too late, if you'd prefer me to stay here and be all alone," 

Bonnie rolled her eyes, "I guess you can join me," she said with a smile, "Let's go,"

When they arrived at the prom, the venue looked beautiful. It was full of lights and there were pictures showing their memories throughout their high school years. Anubis caught of picture of Jeremy and Bonnie and he subtly looked at her as she noticed it. They kept walking until they got inside. 

"I'm going to go find Caroline," Bonnie said while she disappeared in the crowd, and Anubis instantly bumped into Damon. 

"Damon," Anubis greeted, "You look good," he commented. 

"Your'e not too bad yourself," Damon complimented him. 

"How's Elena?" he asked curiously. Damon shifted his weight and sighed. 

"She stole Caroline's prom dress but we have a plan to bring her humanity back," Damon answered with his hands in his pockets . 

Anubis looked around, "Well, I hope everything turns out alright," 

"Thanks," they stood there talking for a few minutes before Anubis noticed Bonnie outside of the venue against the wall. 

"I'll be back," he turned his back and walked towards Bonnie. Once he stepped outside, he heard her sniffling, the music was loud enough on the inside that you could hear it outdoors, "Bonnie, are you okay?" 

She quickly wiped the tears away from her eyes and dried them on her dress. She turned towards Anubis and smiled, "Yeah, I'm just a little emotional," 

"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked worriedly, "I'm always here for you Bonnie," 

She walked closer towards him, "I know, let's just go inside and dance for now, okay?" 

Anubis nodded his head as she grabbed his hand they walked inside. They were playing a slow song which made Anubis nervous as he placed his hands on her hips. He felt his heart beating rapidly and his palms sweaty. Bonnie moved slowly to the music and Anubis could feel the guilt building up inside of him. 

"Bonnie, can I talk to you outside?" she furrowed her brows in confusion as Anubis took her hand and led her outside. 

"Anubis is everything alright?" 

Anubis took in a deep breath as he found the words to tell her, "Bonnie, I'm leaving Mystic Falls," 

The witch furrowed her brows, "What do you mean?" 

"Isis came back and she needs my help in Egypt and I don't know how long I'll be there," he answered, he could feel a knot in his throat forming. 

"You're going back? After what they did to you?" she sounded angry which made Anubis more angry, "How come you didn't tell me?" 

"I didn't want to bother you, you were depressed about everything and I just didn't want to tell you," he answered, "I have to help Isis back home and I owe it to her after everything she did," 

Bonnie looked calm on the outside but on the inside she was raging, "So what? You were just planning to up and leave without saying anything and you decide to tell me now?!" 

Anubis looked for the right words to say, "Bonnie, I--" 

She shook her head, "You're just like everyone else, everyone just up and leaves me. It's like no one even cares me about anymore only when they need me," 

"Bonnie, that is not true," Anubis started, "I care about you more than anything in world, you're the only. reason that I haven't left. I love you, Bonnie," the two were close to each other and Anubis could feel his heart pounding against his chest.

Anubis realized what he said and he felt urge to run away in that same moment, "You what?" 

Anubis gulped, "I love you, Bonnie, and I always will," 

"Then don't go, Anubis," Bonnie begged, "Please, I love you," In that moment, Bonnie placed her lips on Anubis and their kissed lingered for a few seconds. It was everything that he had ever wanted but it had happened at the worst possible moment. Anubis could feel his pulse calm down and he felt himself pull away. 

"Bonnie, I have to go," His voice cracked as soon as he saw tears in Bonnie's eyes. 

"Anubis, please, don't, I need you," She was holding his hands tightly and he let them go as he turned his back. 

"I'm sorry Bonnie," he walked away with tears in his eyes as she called out to him. He didn't know when he would be back and he didn't know if she would forgive him after everything that had just happened. The only thought he had in his mind was Bonnie and that's all it was ever going to be.
