   ANUBIS WALKED ALONG ABBIE'S GARDEN. As he walked along the garden he noticed the vibrant colors from the different plants. He noticed the small leaves moving along with the breeze that flew by. He had his hands shoved into his jean pockets, he wore a dark-colored sweatshirt with black shoes. He noticed a batch of bright purple flowers--vervain. 

   He touched the flower softly, careful not to tear petal. Anubis loved Abbie's garden, he loved the mix of vibrant colors all together and the sound of birds chirping. When he was asleep, all he saw was darkness and the garden made everything more alive and surreal. 

   Anubis heard steps behind him and assumed it to be Bonnie or Abbie but the voice belonged to neither. 

   "Anubis," the voice said, "It's good to see you again." Anubis turned around slowly and saw a blonde standing in front of him. He had no idea who she was but she looked familiar, the woman was young and she had azure eyes that sparkled in the sun. 

  "Who are you?" Anubis asked confused. 

   "It's me, Esther," the woman replied, "I took over my daughter's body, her name is Rebekah," Esther explained. 

   "Why are you here?" Anubis asked calmly. 

   "There's a problem," Esther took a step forward towards Anubis, "My children, they know about your past." 

   Anubis stood still for a moment, he balled his fists and clenched his jaw, "How did they find out?" his voice was stern causing Esther to shift in place. 

   "There was a book, they must have found it and read what was in it," she explained quickly. 

   "They are going to try and put me to sleep again. I can't have that! Do you understand?" Anubis raised his voice at Esther. If the Mikaelsons knew about his past they had a weapon and a way of putting him down, and he couldn't have that. 

   "I am doing everything in my power for that not to happen, but you need to listen to me." her voice remained calm, "They know about you so there is no more point in hiding. I have a backup plan just in case something goes wrong." 

   "Backup plan?" Anubis repeated, "I am going to finish what I started, and if I am put back to sleep you say goodbye because I will make sure you never come back to life again."

   Esther took in a deep breath trying to calm herself, "Listen to me," she started, "Tonight, you will go to a dance and you will show them that you are not to be messed with. You will show them that making an enemy of you is a mistake. Understand?" 

   "Understood," Anubis answered sternly. 

   "Now, put on a suit because you got a dance to get to." Esther smiled before turning her back and disappearing. After a few minutes, Bonnie appeared in the garden and saw Anubis with his eyebrows furrowed. 

   "Hey, are you okay?" she asked worriedly.

   "Yeah, I'm fine," he answered, "Can I ask you a question?" 

   Bonnie shrugged her shoulders, "Sure." 

   "How come I wasn't told there was a dance?" he asked cocking his eyebrow. 

   Bonnie rolled her eyes and she had a smug smile on her face, "You're the god of death, dances aren't your thing." 

   "And how do you know that?" he asked,

   "Because I do." she smiled looking at Anubis. 

   "Well, I have a plan and it involves the dance, so put on your dancing shoes, Bennett."

   The gym was crowded with people. Decorations lined the walls and tables of the high school. People were dressed in 1920's clothing as music bounced off of the walls. Anubis felt his heart flutter with a number of people around him. He had never been in a room with almost an entire school in it. Bonnie stood by his side in her clothes and Anubis wore a black 1920's tux. 

   Bonnie noticed Anubis' uneasiness and looked at him, "Hey, it's okay." Anubis looked down at the witch and smiled. Caroline noticed the two from across the room and quickly ran towards them. She had a pink feather in hair and she wore a matching flapper dress with white gloves covering her hands. 

  "What is he doing here?" Caroline asked quickly with her eyebrows folded. 

   "We have a plan, don't worry," Bonnie reassured her. 

   "The Mikaelsons are going to be here." Caroline looked at Anubis then back at Bonnie. 

   Bonnie shifted in place, "They already know he's here." 

   Caroline straightened her back and looked at Anubis with worried eyes. She didn't know Anubis much but she knew that he wasn't all that bad. Caroline turned her back and noticed Tyler near the concessions table, "I got to go, see you later." the blonde turned her back and started walking away from them. 

   "I'll be back, don't do anything stupid." Bonnie looked at Anubis before she disappeared into the crowds of people dancing. 

   Anubis leaned against the wall with his arms folded across his chest, he watched the teenagers dance to the different music. Anubis felt someone stand next to him and he turned around slightly towards the person. The man had jet-black hair and bright azure eyes, he had a smug look o his face which made Anubis uncomfortable. Anubis recognized from the night of the Mikaelson ball. He was the one that pushed one of the Originals over the balcony. 

   "Do I know you?" Anubis asked before the person faced Anubis quickly. 

   He reached out a hand towards Anubis, "Damon. Damon Salvatore, and you?" 

   Anubis licked his lips hesitantly before shaking his hand, "Anubis."  

   "Caroline was right, you are anti-social." Anubis looked at Damon with furrowed brows, Caroline told them. He knew she couldn't keep a secret but either way, it was all out in the open now. 

   "I guess Caroline can't really keep a secret then." 

    Damon chuckled, "No she can not but since you're trying to kill Klaus, I think it's time we introduce you to the Scooby gang." 

   Anubis knitted his brows, "Scooby gang?" 

   "Come." Damon turned around and walked out into the hallway, Anubis looked around hesitantly before following him. 

   Out in the hallway stood two other people. One was the vampire that Anubis saw when Esther was trying to cast a spell, the other was a girl with sleek brunette hair. Esther had mentioned her and Anubis remembered her name, it was Elena, Katherine Pierce's doppelganger. 

   Elena had a puzzled look on her face and so did the other male, "I've seen you before. You were at the Mikaelson ball." 

   The other male studied Anubis, "I've seen him too, he was with Bonnie."  

   "Everyone meet Anubis, our new friend." Damon put his arm around Anubis which made him uncomfortable. Anubis moved slightly making Damon drop his arm. 

   "As much as I'd love to chit chat, I have to go do something."

   Damon, Stefan, Jeremy, Klaus and someone named Jamie all stood in a room together with Bonnie. Bonnie was trying to perform a spell under the threat of Klaus. She knew Anubis didn't want her to overexert herself but if she didn't do it Klaus was going to kill Jamie. 

   Candles were spread across the room as Bonnie chanted the spell and everyone stood in place. 

   "She does this all the time, right?" Jamie asked worriedly with a puzzled look on his face. 

   "What's taking so long?! All boundary spells have a loophole," Klaus asked angrily. 

   The door entered and Matt walked into the room, " People are walking right out of the dance, past the barrier." 

   Jeremy turned towards Matt, "Matt and I can leave, we can stop Esther ourselves. We just gotta find out where she is." 

     Stefan quickly looked at Jeremy, "It's suicide, Jeremy." 

    Out of patience, Klaus vamped towards Jamie and grabbed him by his throat and starting squeezing his neck, "Suicide would be disappointing me! Now work your magic, witch, or I'll start killing people you fancy." 

    "Let him go!" Bonnie yelled at Klaus, her chest was heaving and her eyes were full of anger. Before things got any worse, Anubis walked into the room with a smug look on his face, Klaus looked at Anubis with wide eyes before letting go of Jamie. 

   "You," Klaus started walking towards Anubis with a murderous look on his face, "I believe we haven't met." 

   "No, we haven't and I'm rather quite glad," Anubis stood with his back straight staring at the hybrid. 

   "Is that so?" 

   "I think before we do anything we should finish what we're doing." 

    Everyone in the room went silent.

    The four stood in a circle with a map on top of the table. Klaus and Damon stood next to Bonnie while Anubis stood in across from her. "Here. Jeremy made a little Gilbert blood donation for your locator spell." Damon said with a small vial of Jeremy's blood. 

    "I have to do this with you three lurking over me?" Bonnie asked. 

   "You're still mad at me for what happened to Abby. Let me apologize. I'm sorry Elijah forced us to turn your mother into a vampire to save Elena's life. Didn't exactly have a choice." Damon spat. 

   "There's always a choice. Whenever you make one, someone else suffers." Bonnie looked at Damon with hurt in her eyes. She still wasn't over Damon turning her mom into a vampire. 

   "Let's cut the dramatics and begin, shall we?" Klaus interrupted the two--eager to get things over with. 

   Bonnie poured the blood onto the map and started chanting, "Phasmatos Tribum Nas Ex Veras, Sequita Saguines, Ementas Asten Mihan Ega Petous." Anubis watched the blood carefully, but it didn't move. It stood in place, he looked up at Bonnie who had a look of defeat on her face. 

   "Esther is fighting me." 

   "Esther couldn't possibly have this much power. Unless she's channeling something." Klaus stated looking at everyone around him. 

   "A hotspot?" Bonnie asked unsure what to say or suggest. 

    "Get the humans ready. I know where she is." Klaus and Damon left the room quickly, leaving Bonnie and Anubis alone. 

    "Bonnie, you can't keep doing this." Anubis started, "You are going to hurt yourself." 

    "I have to do this Anubis if I don't people will die." she looked at Anubis with a softened face, she didn't like any of the Mikalesons but she had to help them, she couldn't watch other people die. That was when Anubis softened his face at the witch, his expression changed into a serious look. Bonnie was always constantly trying to save her friends but who was saving her? 

   "Then you can do this without me."

   Anubis walked around the Mystic Falls cemetery with a cigarette in between his fingers. He put the cigarette to his lips and watched the smoke emitting from it. He thought about how the Mikaelsons knew what had happened to it and he couldn't let anyone else know, not even Bonnie. 

   He didn't know why he should hide it from Bonnie but he didn't want her to know. Anubis heard someone scream from afar and heard the name 'Bonnie'. He quickly dropped the cigarette and smashed it under his foot. He ran towards the direction of the scream and found himself in front of a large tomb. 

   Anubis felt his heart beating against his chest and a knot tie up in his throat. Anubis walked towards the tomb and saw lit candles on the walls. He saw blood splattered on the floor and a figure slumped against the wall. 

    Anubis looked up toward the person and felt his heart drop in his chest. Bonnie lay on the floor with blood seeping out of her neck. Anubis quickly ran towards her and put his hands on her shoulders. 

   "Bonnie, hey Bonnie. Wake up." he said softly when she didn't move or say anything, he said it louder, "Bonnie! Wake up!" Anubis felt the knot in his throat getting tighter and tighter. Bonnie's eyes opened slightly and fixated them on Anubis. 

   "Anubis," her voice was weak and soft which made Anubis shake. 

   "Listen, you can't die on me right now, you have to stay awake." Anubis looked outside of the tomb and saw Damon, he quickly yelled for him. 

    That moment made Anubis more scared than ever.
