— growing up in a half-magic household was hard. her mother was the witch while her father was the muggle. it was hard for her father to accept she'd be sent away to a wizarding school, and even as she went through the years he still found it hard to accept.

her brother was a muggle, so when he was born he and her father bonded quickly. the family quickly became divided, more so than isabella or her mother would have liked. instead of both of her parents bringing her to platform 9 3/4 it was only her mother. her father distanced himself from them but he didn't divorce isabella's mother, which put a lot of strain on the family.

she never understood why her parents didn't just separate, and she often got into arguments with them over it. she wanted them to stay together but sometimes her anger would get the best of her.

when she got into hogwarts, she was a hat stall between a hufflepuff and a gryffindor. she was placed into hufflepuff for her immense amount of kindness and her — usually — gentle nature. what stalled her was the fact she was stubborn and she wasn't afraid to defend herself or those she cared about. the hat stall tends to be something she doesn't talk about.

she met the golden trio in care of magical creatures with hagrid in their third year. her and hermione became fast friends and she quickly found herself falling for the chosen one himself.
