her childhood from the beginning was rough. her father was struggling with an alcohol addiction while her mother worked all the time. her older brother was really the 'man' of the house. he took care of aria and her younger sister, valerie.

later on, when ari was 18, her mother had mysteriously turned up dead. she immediately blamed her father, but he was at the bar at the time of her murder. it didn't diminish the anger that was firing up inside of her, but she kept it tame. for a while.

she joined Interpol by the age of 27, fairly young. she was trained as a special ops figure, specializing in weaponry. her weapon of choice, was a sniper. she was stationed around the world to take down dangerous criminals, like luka cartier. they met in france; he had been terrorizing the city of paris. she had gone in to take him out. in the process, she was shot in the shoulder and temporarily put out. she never got to shoot at luka.

she stayed with Interpol until she was convicted of a murder: luka cartier's. she had plead with them saying she didn't do it, that she swore he was still alive. but she was thrown in the brig, with absolutely no hope. that was until the BAU needed someone like her, someone with her talent.

they recruited her, only because she had skill. she only agreed because it shortened her sentence. ever since then, she had been apart of the BAU, but not as an agent, more of as an informant. she had convinced aaron hotchner to let her be the weapons specialist, claiming that it made her comfortable.
