"why do we even have to do this every single year? this is tiring," jungwon pouted as he fixes the hanging banners on their booth.

Every year when April comes, SNU celebrates their anniversary by setting up a carnival with booths and programs from every department. this event lasts for one week, so students actually have a break from school works and classes.

"don't stand there looking so grumpy, you're gonna scare the customers you idiot," geonu hit jungwon with the balloon that he's holding.

sunoo just smiled and continued decorating their booth. their booth is simple, a person can win a stuffed animal if they answer a question related to biology department.

"bitch no one will come in here not because of me, but because our booth's theme is boring," jungwon even rolled his eyes.

daniel chuckled. "how about you put someone famous as a bait to gain customers?"

all of them paused at daniel's statement. a bait huh? well, i'm not famous so that's definitely not me—

sunoo felt someone put his arms around his shoulder. "daniel, you are a genius. now here is our token celebrity to attract customers." hanbin said while grinning.

he groaned. "hyung, i don't want to! choose jake instead, a lot of girls are vying for him," he tried to reason out.

hanbin shook his head. "nope, that's not gonna work. jake's not even here in the first place, and you—you attract a lot of people. so," he dragged sunoo out od the booth.

"just stand there, daniel pass me the megaphone," daniel got the megaphone and handed it to hanbin.

hanbin cleared his throat before speaking.

"A pleasant evening everyone! Come here and play in our booth and get a chance to take a picture with the our one and only, very appealing, Kim Sunoo of Biology department!"

sunoo covered his face with his hands. this is gonna be a long night.

"ni-ki, the balloons won't stick itself up on the wall. stop idling!" jay hit him with a ruler.

"can i just go back to the practice room? i wanna sleep." he grunted, picking up two balloons and sticking it on the backdrop at once.

kei glared at him. "no. you slept the whole day without even helping us, and now you wanna sleep again? heeseung is also nowhere to be found. all of you are giving me a headache."

ni-ki sighed. he just asked a question and yet he received a whole lecture, just great. he eyed sunghoon who's busy with his laptop. he looks calm, it's as if he never sent me those messages.

he continued with his work. he and sunghoon never spoke again since their last text. and he never saw sunoo since that day he was sick. they were busy with the preparations for the carnival that he didn't have the time to check on him.

should i go and text him? or should i find him so that we can talk? if i don't make a move, i'll definitely lose my chance.

he finished putting all the balloons when heeseung finally arrived, looking excited. he's holding a cotton candy on his left hand.

kei looked at him, dissapointed. "where did you go?"

"i told you hyung, i was looking for cool booths. anyways, i saw hanbin hyung and his friends' booth." he smirked.

nicholas went closer to sunghoon. "what's the theme of their booth?"

"oh you know, the usual question game. but, this time, the game comes with a bonus."

"what bonus?"

heeseung grinned. "a picture with kim sunoo," he laughed.

a picture...with sunoo?

taki pinched heeseung's arm. "you idiot, why would you say that."

"can we go there now?" jay asked but kei answered with a solid no.

"you guys can visit their booth, but only after we finish the designs. no one is allowed to leave until i say so, got it?"

everyone sighed but still nodded.

"thank you! feel free to visit us again!" hanbin waved at the customer while giving her the picture taken earlier with sunoo.

after the customer left, sunoo looked at hanbin and pouted. "how could you do this to me hyung? i'm so tired of smiling in front of the camera."

"aw baby i'm sorry but you're the reason why our booth isn't boring anymore, so just hang in there okay?" his hyung smiled and gave him a drink.

daniel sat beside him and combed his hair, making him feel sleepy. he hummed while closing his eyes.

he heard someone cough so he opened his eyes to see jungwon eyeing them.

he raised an eyebrow. "what?"

"nothing. don't sleep here, we still got three hours left until closing."

sunoo nodded and stood up, straightening his clothes. he looked outside, hoping to spot someone familiar.

that's odd. i haven't seen him since that day when he got sick. is he okay now?

"oh look, it's jay and sunghoon!" geonu pointed at the two guys walking towards their booth, jay holding a corndog while sunghoon is smiling at him.

he smiled back, waving his hand.

"ah, sunghoon looks so whipped." hanbin whispered while shaking his head. "and there's ni-ki."

sunoo didn't hesitate to look back at where hanbin is pointing, his eyes eager to see someone. he smiled brightly when he finally locked eyes with ni-ki.

and at that moment, sunoo realized something.

meanwhile, sunghoon has stopped walking to see how sunoo's eyes lit up while seeing nishimura walk towards him. he looked away, not wanting to see the scene unfold in front of him.

"hey guys! are you here to try our booth?" hanbin asked, holding the quiz cards.

jay shook his head. "hell no hyung, we're just here to take a picture—"

"nuh-uh, you need to answer the quiz before taking a picture with sunoo."

"we'll pay—"

"no!" sunoo objected. "how about we just take a picture without paying? we're friends so that's fine."

hanbin paused. "okay then. who wants to take a picture with—"

"can i take a picture with jungwon?" jungwon rolled his eyes as he heard his name.

"jay i swear if you cut me off again i will shove that corndog in your mouth. now go stand infront of the backdrop," hanbin dragged jungwon and jay infront.

after taking their picture (jungwon looks like he wanted to kill someone but he didn't, thank goodness), jungwon went to the other booth while jay followed him.

"hey sunoo, can we—" sunghoon's sentence was interrupted by his phone which is ringing.

sunoo was listening as sunghoon talk to someone on the phone. he's trying to ignore the stares coming from ni-ki, who's been quiet while standing beside their booth.

"sunoo, i have to go now. kei hyung needs my help on our booth. i guess i'll just see you tomorrow?" sunghoon ruffled his hair.

"let's take a picture before you leave—"

"it's okay, we'll take one tomorrow. see you."

sunghoon left, leaving sunoo with ni-ki. hanbin, daniel, and geonu seemed to be busy with the booth so there's only two of them left outside.

"you seem okay now.." sunoo started the conversation.

ni-ki nodded. "yeah, you did a great job in taking care of me on that day."

silence.

"do you want to—"

"let's take a—"

sunoo chuckled when they both spoke at the same time. taylor swift's song can be heard on the speakers, as the carnival continues.

"do you want to visit other booths?" riki asked, looking straight into sunoo's eyes.

"sure, let's go then?" sunoo smiled, holding ni-ki's arm.
