Chapter Seventeen

TILL THE END

── ──

Alessia ran as fast as she could, Steve running beside her as they tried their best to reach the door. Steve threw his shield, stopping the large door from closing, allowing them enough time to get out without a worry. She turned her head to Steve as he spoke "Till the end of the line?" Alessia smiled brightly at her best friend before nodding, "And until the end of time!"

She had picked up on the promise the boys had made for one another and after some petty arguing, we decided to add to it. Which was symbolic in its own way considering she was the new addition to their lives and now to their promise too. The trio was a force to be reckoned with and no one was willing to face them without their own army.

Once they got far enough, they gave Clint the all-clear and they turned just in time to watch the facility go up in flames. "Another Hydra base down," Steve and Alessia stood there triumphantly as Clint spoke. She finally took in a few deep breaths from the cool air before making their way towards the quinjet. "I'd say we earned a night of drinks!" She let out a chuckle as Steve rolled his eyes, "Do you keep forgetting that we can't exactly feel the impact of alcohol." Clint shrugged as we sat down.

It'd been quite a rough year but Alessia was doing better and she had better control of her powers now, so she wasn't against the idea of going on missions as it allowed them an upper hand on Hydra with her new powers and that had been her main mission since she first escaped Hydra years prior. Though the Avengers never failed to ask her if she was still doing okay, which she found quite sweet.

Alessia quickly picked up on The Avengers being heavily protective of her, especially after what had happened with Anderson and sometimes it proved to be quite annoying. Bucky was now Alessia's boyfriend after nights of pestering by Steve and Tony, and even he wasn't as protective as everyone else, though she was convinced that he wasn't because everyone else was.

── ──

The moment Alessia walked into the main area of The Avengers tower, two strong arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her into the owner of those arms. She lifted her eyes to be met with the steel-blue orbs that mesmerized her every time she looked into them, "You guys took longer than usual." He smirked slightly at Steve who rolled his eyes playfully at the PDA.

Alessia turned her head to Steve before letting out a chuckle, "Steve and I got tied up with a few rogue agents." Steve laughed before making his way over to Tony who was ordering someone around. She lifted her head back to Bucky's who leaned down instantly, sensually placing a quick kiss on her lips. "Alright lovebirds, We have a location on Loki's sceptre." Tony's voice interrupted the loving couple.

Alessia looked at Bucky as he interlocked their fingers before they all made their way into the main boardroom. Bucky stood against the wall with Alessia standing in front of him, his arms around her neck, draping down her chest protectively. "The facility that contains the sceptre is being run by Strucker." She tried to stop the sudden shiver, She knew who Strucker was.

Fury and Stark went over the plan to attack the facility, they were gonna essentially show up on the front door, to which he had no hesitation in mocking Steve about when he walked right up to the front door of a Hydra facility. Alessia nodded at Tony the moment he asked if she would be okay to be a part of the mission, she wasn't afraid and she was more than willing to take Strucker down the moment she could.

── ──

Tony was flying straight towards the unknown facility while the rest of the Avengers were fighting the oncoming Hydra Soldiers defending their base, Alessia was having the time of her life using her abilities to throw the soldiers around in the snow. "Shit!" Tony exclaimed as he bounced off the shield surrounding the base which made Alessia laugh.

Alessia was sniping from high above, "Language! JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?" Alessia laughed instantly at Steve's response before responding, "Ya know, I'm watching from above so you could have asked me." She saw Steve's eye roll from a distance as JARVIS responded, "The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other Hydra base we've taken."

Alessia let out an annoyed sigh as she shot down two soldiers sneaking up on Nat, "That's just peachy..." Annoyance was clear in her voice. "Loki's scepter must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defence without it. At long last," Thor cheerfully stated She laughed as Nat knocked down another soldier, "At long last is lasting a little long, boys." Alessia always enjoyed the widows' snide remarks.

Alessia aimed her scoped towards a small group of Soldiers, changing the solid gears to an explosive shot, firing it once it had powered up. "This new sniper is perfect Tony, she's holding up nicely." She heard him laugh, "I'd say your adjustments helped with that." Bucky's voice echoed like a melody in her head right as Clint came into her view.

"Yeah anyway, I think we lost the element of surprise," Clint stated as he knocked down another soldier. Alessia couldn't agree more but what else do you expect to happen when you practically walked up to the front gates. "Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said 'language'?" Alessia giggled at Tony's sudden interest in the mature fatherly response Rogers had earlier.

"I know..." She watched as Steve threw his whole ass bike at some soldiers driving up in their truck, "It just slipped out." Alessia snickered silently. "Never heard that one have ya old man." The rest of the Avengers laughed at her comment while Rogers sighed, turning to glare at the raven-haired soldier who simply smiled childishly.

She let out another laugh right as she sensed someone approaching her. She turned around to see three soldiers, "I've been compromised, you've lost battle hawk..." She giggled at Clint's title of the day for her. "No worries, be careful!" Steve spoke with a slightly out of breath tone.

Alessia stared the soldiers up and down and decided to use her powers, allowing the surge of electricity to form within her veins to her hands before throwing the strong energy towards them, throwing them back and knocking them out. She smiled proudly at the control she had after all this time, her training with Nat and Marcus had proven successful.

It wasn't long till the city was taking fire and Tony sent in the Iron Legion to evacuate the city. Alessia made her way down to the rest of the Avengers, taking out as many soldiers as possible with her powers. "Don't exhaust yourself Ales," Alessia turned to see Bucky making his way to her as Clint got knocked down.

"We've got an enhanced in the field," Steve spoke as he got up from the ground. Alessia focused her energy before throwing a ball of electricity at the enhanced boy, racing over to him as he was lying on the ground. "Really, I only stunned you dude," He looked up at her as the realisation hit her, "Pietro?" He was frozen in place for a moment as he stared up at her. "Alessia?" Pietro mumbled before he jumped up and took off instantly.

Alessia stood there watching the area he ran towards when she heard Hulk yelling, turning her attention but to the battle at hand. If Pietro was here then so was Wanda, which means they didn't grow up safe in Sokovia and Strucker used them for his experiments. Alessia knew telling her brother would result in him wanting to find the two Sokovian enhanced they once knew.

Alessia had zoned out most of the conversation. "And for gosh sake, watch your language!" Tony's comment was the only thing she was able to catch as she jogged up to Steve with a smirk on her face. He looked at her with a disapproving look, "That's not going away anytime soon..." Alessia shook her head as he sighed in defeat which only made Alessia laugh even more.

They finished up the battle outside while Tony was getting the scepter from inside, making her way towards the Quinjet, catching Bucky along the way just as Steve's voice played through the comms. "We have a second enhanced. Female. Do not engage." Alessia let out an annoyed sigh, she was right about the twins.

So the Maximoff twins decided to volunteer, after all, this just got a lot more complicated with their desire for revenge on the platter. She sat down on the seat with Bucky next to her, "Something wrong Doll?" She turned to him with a smile, "The two enhanced.." He nodded, "I knew them when I was a kid, we were friends for a short time and I think I remember them from my time with Hydra when Aaron and I were there." Bucky nodded in understanding as Alessia let out a sad sigh.

Once everyone got onto the Quinjet, they headed back to the Avengers tower. Alessia rested her head on Bucky's shoulder, closing her eyes while listening to Tony's usual tunes that he plays while everyone else had their own conversations. "Hey Spyro, you keen on the party?"

Alessia smiled at Tony, her eyes still closed as she nodded in agreement, "As keen as I'll ever be after an interesting raiding party like today." She opened her eyes before getting up and approaching the scepter. "You really trust Stark to touch this without causing issues?" Alessia looked to Steve and Thor as Tony mocked being hurt by her words.

Alessia rolled her eyes before running her hand down the handle of the scepter, avoiding the mind-controlling part of it. "Its energy level is so different from what I'm used to feeling." Thor looked at her with curiosity, "What do you mean, Lady Alessia?" She gripped the handle of the sceptor closing her eyes to allow the energy to combine for a moment.

She opened her eyes, the usual yellow tinge had turned to a pale blue. "It's closely familiar to the tesseract but it seems to almost have it's own... mind. My powers don't stray too far from what I can feel." The tinge faded as she let go of the scepter. "Does it seem to be a threat?" Steve asked causing her to think carefully. "It's not necessarily a threat but the tension of feeling threatened is different."

Nat walked over with Bruce, "So what you are saying is, It isn't a threat unless it feels threatened by us?" Bruce asked and Alessia nodded. "That's what I mean, it's got the familiar mindset yet it contains something more foreign." She turned to Tony, "The rest is up to you to work out." He smiled as she smirked, crossing her arms against her chest as Bucky walked over.

Steve walked over to Clint as Nat spoke with Banner. Thor turned back to Alessia, "You seemed to have quite the strange powers, Lady Alessia." She giggled at the words of the pop tart loving, god of thunder. "Very much so, Thor," She shook her head with a chuckle before leaning into Bucky's arms conversating with Thor and Bucky for the rest of the way back to their home.
