Chapter Thirty-Six
─ MOURNING OUR LOSS ─

"Alessia?" Clinton's voice caught the attention of the young woman, she turned her head to him as tears fell from her eyes. Clint walked up to Alessia and pulled her into his arms, letting her rest her head in the crook of his neck as the tears continued to fall. "We'll make her proud, Alessia. I know we will," Clint ran his fingers through her hair in hopes to calm her down.
They made their way out to the pier where Bruce, Steve, Thor and Tony were standing around looking out to the water. Alessia stood with Clint by the edge of the pier, both of them mourning their friend, their sister. "Do we know if she had family?" Tony asked no one in particular. "Yeah. Us," Steve answered as Alessia grabbed Clint's hand for comfort.
"Why are you doing that?" Thor asked, Alessia looked down. "I'm just asking a question--" Tony started but was interrupted by Thor. "Why are we talking as if she's dead? We have the Stones. Bring her back. C'mon, stop this shit," Thor spoke causing Clint to blink away tears, squeezing Alessia's hand. "We can't get her back," Clint spoke up with a slight sniffle.
Alessia lifted her head. "What's he talking about? Of course, we can," Thor spoke as he looked around at the group. "It can't be undone. That's why," Clint argued back, Thor shook his head as he looked around at everyone again. "No offence, but you're... a very earthly being. We're talking about space magic here. "Can't" seems a little definitive, don't you think?" Thor argued and if Alessia wasn't close to falling apart, she'd have laughed at the comment.
"Well, I know I'm a little outside my pay grade here, but, she still isn't here, is she?" Clint spoke as he let go of Alessia's hand and turned to look at Thor. "That's my point--" Thor started but Clint shook his head. "It can't be undone," His words came out harsh. "At least that's what the red, floating guy said," He continued. Alessia looked to Steve, she knew who Clint was referring to. It was Red Skull, his fate decided by the tesseract years ago placing him as the guardian of Vormir.
Clint stepped closer to Thor, "But why don't you go talk to him, okay? Why don't you grab your hammer and fly to that place and talk to him." Clint stepped forward again before shouting, "IT CAN'T BE UNDONE!" Alessia grabbed Clint's hand, pulling him back before resting her head on his shoulder. "It was supposed to be me. She sacrificed her life for that goddamn stone. She bet her life on it," Clint finished before stepping away from the others.
Alessia looked up at Steve, the two trying their hardest to hold themselves together. Bruce hurls the bench he was standing next to into the lake, letting his anger take control for a moment as everyone processed their loss. "She's not coming back. We have to make it worth it. We have to," Bruce's voice cracked. Alessia looked over to him as he looked at her before he looked away, focusing on the water to calm himself.
"We will," Steve said before they all stood in silence for a few minutes. Alessia let out a deep breath before focusing on every memory she had of Natasha Romanoff, including the ones she had made over the past five years. Using her abilities, she flashed those memories through everyone's minds that mattered, each of them stunned for a moment before closing their eyes letting the memories they all shared play like a movie.

Alessia sat down in the office alone before face-timing her daughter, Aiden answered and called for Rebecca. "Mommy!" Rebecca cheered as she climbed up onto the chair. "Hey baby, Are you having fun with your uncle?" Alessia asked her daughter. Rebecca went on telling Alessia about baking and playing dress-up and it was a nice distraction for Alessia. "Well, I have a gift for you from uncle Tony," Alessia smiled at her daughter who smiled widely.
"Alessia," Clint spoke softly before nodding towards the main room. Alessia nodded to him before looking back at the screen, "I'll be home soon baby, so be good for uncle Aiden." Rebecca nodded before blowing Alessia a kiss then hanging up. Alessia looked over to Clint, "What are the chances we get out of this alive?" He sighed before pulling her out of the seat.
"I don't know but I know we'll be saving the future for the children," Clint spoke as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders before the two made their way into the main room ready for whatever may happen next. Though they were not gonna be prepared for the next battle, they knew they had each other's backs through it all and it was all for the woman who sacrificed her life with the full belief they would win.

All six Infinity Stones rest behind safety glass. A robotic arm enters, plucking up the Power Stone. Tony operates the arms as Rocket and Hulk watch him. The robot arms swing the stone over to a Gauntlet made of Iron Man's Nano-Tech. The Nano-Tech shifts and slides, holding the Stone in place. Hulk released a deep breath with a slight smile as Rocket nodded, turning his head to look at Alessia who smiled at him before walking away from the three geniuses.
The completed Gauntlet sat in a cradle, sit Infinity Stones embedded in the back. Scott, Thor, Clint, Rhodey, Steve and Alessia watch closely as Tony and Rocket fine-tune the glove. "All right. The glove's ready. Question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?" Rocket spoke up looking around the room. After a moment of silence, Thor stepped forward towards the Gauntlet. "I'll do it," Thor spoke up but Tony stepped forward, "Whoa, whoa, what are you doing-"
"Thor, we haven't decided on who's putting that on," Steve pointed out. "Oh. Were all of you just waiting for the right opportunity?" Thor asked them, Alessia sighed. "Maybe I was getting around to it-" Rocket spoke up. "We should at least discuss it-" Scott said looking around at everyone. "Staring at the thing isn't going to bring everybody back, is it? Look, I'm the strongest Avenger, besides Lady Alessia. It's my responsibility. Fate wills it so," Thor stated getting a small smile from Alessia.
"Hold, hold on-" Tony looked up at Thor ready to stop him. "Stop it! Let me do this. Let me do something good. Something right-" Thor's voice cracked as Alessia looked to the Gauntlet, Steve noticed the expression on her face. "That thing is channelling enough energy to light up a continent. You're in no condition-" Tony attempted to explain to the former God of Thunder. "What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?" Thor asked them.
"Chez whiz?" Rhodey spoke up, Thor pointed at him before looking back at Tony. "Lightning," Thor argued back but before anyone could do anything, a bright yellowish-blue tinge filled the room. "I was created to withstand this power-" Alessia started as she looked around, levitating above the ground ever-so-slightly. "-And I'm not gonna argue this," Alessia said as Tony opened his mouth to talk. "It'll be me," Alessia said before landing on the ground, her eyes shining a vibrant gold as she approached the Gauntlet.
"Good to go, Pyro?" Tony asked Alessia as her hand hovered above the Gauntlet, its power radiating off of it making her feel stronger. "Let's do this," Alessia spoke up before looking at Steve, he nodded his head with a small smile. "Okay, remember, everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago, you're just bringing them back... to today. Don't change anything from the last five years. Got it?" Tony explained to Alessia. "I got it, brother," Alessia assured.
Steve steps forward, his shield on his arm as Scott deploys his Ant-Man suit helm. Rhodey readies his repulsors as Rocket covers his raccoon junk and hides behind Thor. Tony armours up then Nanos a shield to protect Clint beside him. Hulk stepped to the side ready to protect everyone or pull the Gauntlet from Alessia's arm. "Friday, why don't you go ahead and activate barn door protocol?" Tony spoke before steel doors slid shut around the workshop.
Alessia closed her eyes as she held the Gauntlet in her hands, she thought of every happy memory she could in case things went south. Focusing on everyone that had been taken away from their friends, their loved ones and their lives. "I'm bringing you home," Alessia whispered under her breath before slipping on the glove. Alessia's eyes widened as her power surrounds her, she let out a painful groan causing the other Avengers to worry.
Alessia dropped down to one knee as the power from the Infinity Stones coursed like wildfire throughout her body, forming closely with her power as she began to feel herself growing tired. She couldn't pass out, she had too much to lose and so with the smallest bit of strength she had, she looked up at the others in the room noticing how their mouths were moving but she couldn't hear them. With one last deep breath, She snapped her fingers.
