Ran's flashback POV

I felt like I was gonna shut down. I didn't knew that mom is like that. She always says to us that she love dad more than anyone else but look at her know, she's with another man- y/n's father.

"Baby? What's wrong? You know you can tell me your problems, right? You're not alone and we'll face it together, so now tell me" Y/n hugged me as we're watching "You're lie in April" while cuddling.

"Nothing baby, it's just so sad that Arima once lost his will in playing the piano" I said and gave her a reassurance. It's now 4am and we just finished watching. Y/n now sleepy and she keeps yawning. I tucked her in the warm comforter while letting her sleep.

I decided to fix the bed not until someone knocked hurriedly. When I opened the door, it's Chifuyu. He's with Keisuke. I noticed that his eyes were red and his knuckles are red.

"What happened?" I asked and Keisuke cried

"D-dad...... I just saw him k-kissing......someone"

He saw them? We're now in trouble.

"Ran, call mom. I'll talk to her" Keisuke said and I immediately got my phone to call Keiki-san, we decided to talk at the lobby. Keiki-san isn't answering it so Keisuke just voice chatted her and told everything he saw to her mother and reassured her to make her feel better when she'll hear it.

Y/n's flashback POV

I woke up and saw a very bright light, my eyes hurt. Luckily mom is there to protect my eyes as she hugged me. Her hands are so soft that makes me feel like I'm in cloud nine.

"Y/n, anak ko... Mahal na mahal kita..

Alagaan mo 'yung kuya, pasaway pa naman 'yon.

Tanda mo pa ba nung una kayong nagkakilala ng Ran Haitani na 'yon? Anak, siya lang 'yung gusto ko para sa 'yo ha?" Mom said and teased me.

"Nak, 'wag mong bibitawan si Ran, nakita ko kung paano ka naging masaya sa kanya. Tulungan mo rin siya kung may problema siya at 'wag mong iiwan ha?" She said and laughed

"Ano ba 'yan ma, para naman kayong mamamatay. Parang tanga si mama" I said and she just patted my head.

"Lagi mong tandaan na dito lang si mama, kung kailangan mo ako, nandito lang ako. Gagabayan kita palagi" Mom said and the light turned dark. Lumalayo si mama sa akin, at habang hinahabol ko siya, tila bang hindi ako makaalis sa pwesto

"Mahal ko ang papa mo, pero bakit?" Sabi niya at biglang siyang lumutang habang may tali ang kanyang leeg.

"MAMA" I shouted and realized it was a dream. Probably a nightmare. I immediately called mom but she's not answering. Ahhh, I don't fully remember what's my dream and just called Ran.

"Yes baby, me and your brother just talked about something. We'll be back" He said and I rested my body, I wonder what they talked about. Probably some idiotic plans again. When he came back, we slept for hours until it's daytime. They decided to go home and we also followed.

Ran told me that we'll go to the mall to but some foods and souvenir for his dad, he said that Mr. Haitani will be home in a few hours.

"Baby? I'll buy this, I remembered your father likes pistachios"

"Yeah" He said, I felt like he was crying.

"Do you have problems?" I said and held his hands.

"No, baby. Just sleepy, don't worry too much 'kay?" He said and plastered a smile on his face. I nodded and we finished shopping, we got out of the mall and someone called him.

While I was eating the ice cream we bought. The call took too long and when I gazed at him, his eyes are wide and reddish. His trembling and I feel like he was going to faint.

"Ran!" I approached him and held his ice-cold hands. He's shivering.

"What's the problem?" He's acting strange since yesterday and I don't know why. Maybe he had a cold or fever.

"Just a cold, let's go home now?" He smiled but I doesn't reassured me. "Let's take a rest, okay? Don't push yourself" I said and he nodded. I volunteered to drive and he agreed. When we got at their house, nobody's home. I wonder where is Rindo.

It's 7pm when I woke up but Ran is still on a deep sleep. I decided to cook for dinner, Mr. Haitani- Ran and Rindo's father might go home in any time by now.

I felt someone wrapped their hands around my waist and when I looked back, it's Ran. Maybe his cold is gone now. He then rested his chin to my shoulder and stayed like that for a minute.

"If you have any problems, I'm always here. You don't have to suck it all up and pretend to be okay if you're sick. Understood? And your father is a bit late, can you call her baby? So that we can eat dinner together with him and also Rindo" I said while cooking and he just nodded. I felt his warm breathe at my neck when he sighed.

He hugged me even tighter and tucked his head on my shoulders. I can hear his whimpers and he's trembling, when I held his hand and looked back at him, his eyes are puffy and he looks so sick.

"Oh my God, Baby. You still have a cold? Rest for now!! You didn't tell me you're still sick. You're eyes are so red, let's go upstairs, I'll take care of yo-"

"Papa's not gonna come home" He said, bursting in tears while he sat at the dinning chair. WHAT?

"What happened? It's okay baby, I understand that he is busy. Don't cry m'kay? There's still another day" I said and patted his head while still hugging him.

"B-baby....." He's still trembling and I don't know what to do, I want to cry because he is crying, I don't want to see him in a vulnerable state like this. ".......Our father" He cried a river and I hugged him, I want to make him feel like I'm always here whenever he has problems just like what he's doing with me.

The next thing he said made my eyes widen.

"d-died in a car crash"
