"Your sister just died and you're updating your fan page?" Choi Soobin raised an eyebrow, staring at the brown haired girl scrolling through her phone under a tree.

"Well, her ghost isn't going to post about how hot Taehyun looked at the funeral, is it?" Maeve paused her typing and looked up to Soobin.

"You do realize that he knows that you are the owner of the fan page?" Soobin pointed out.

"No,he doesn't! If he did then he would have crushed me by now", Maeve protested, pointing towards Taehyun sitting on one of the benches placed near the lake, tutoring Briar.

"Why are you hiding under a tree then?"

"I am hiding from Kai. I just don't know what to say to him. All along,I thought that he was a distant relative but it turns out that he is my half brother", She confessed, fidgeting with the sleeves of her sweater.

"I know it's mean but I am glad that Vivre is gone but Kai looks so depressed. I feel so guilty about feeling happy about her death", She continued.

Soobin stared at the girl and nodded in understanding before sitting down beside her.

"There is nothing to feel guilty about.She wronged so many people. She kinda deserved it. Kai lived apart from his sister for a long period of time. That's why, he is sad about how much time he could have spent with her", He consoled his friend.

"What about you?"

"What about me?"

"Are you sad that she is gone? You loved her."

Maeve asked, looking for any type of emotion on the boy's face that gave away his true feelings.

"But she didn't love me so no, I don't miss her"

"How could you miss someone you killed?" He thought.

• Flashback •

* One Year Ago *

"Aww,you're so cute! Yes,I like you too!" The black haired girl squealed, taking the cute box filled with heart shaped cookies from Soobin's hands.

"Really?" Soobin was bewildered at the fact that she actually accepted his confession.

"Yes! I couldn't take my eyes off of you from the first day. You are everything that I want", She smiled sweetly, walking towards Soobin to give him a hug.

'See, they were wrong about her!She likes me too!" Soobin cheered in his head before wrapping his arms around Vivre.

Soobin has been crushing on Vivre since the first time he saw her at the school carnival. His past attempts of confessing to her were foiled due to his friends telling him not to.

They gave him every reason not to date her but just like the famous saying, Soobin was blinded by his love towards her.

"Our height difference is so cute", He pointed out with a huge grin,looking down at Vivre due to his tall height.

She was at the perfect height where she could hug Soobin to hear his heart beat just for her and Soobin could rest his chin on her shoulder whenever she hugged her.

"I know right", She mumbled from his warm embrace.

"Do you want to go to the amusement park with me tomorrow after classes end?" He asked,his cheeks flushed red.

"Of course, I'll see you in the afternoon then?" Vivre nodded.

"Yes, I'll see you then" Soobin smiled, bidding her bye to go to his next class, his heart still beating loudly.

"Bye", She continued to smile like the sweetest thing ever and just when Soobin left, she threw the cookies in the bin placed in the garden.

"What a simp!" She gave a sneer at the now crushed heart shaped cookies.

From that day on, Soobin did everything she asked.

Need someone to do her assignments? He was there.

Too lazy to carry books around the campus? He is there?

Hungry? He is there.

Need someone to run her errands? He was there.

He even stopped talking to his friend because they told him to break up with her. He did everything he could to be the bestest boyfriend on the planet.

But whatever he did, she wouldn't give him her full attention and instead focused all of it on giving Yeonjun longing looks across the hallway.

"It doesn't matter.I love her and she loves me"

Soobin brushed it off for the nth time, hoping that it would stop but it crossed the limit and she kissed Yeonjun at Maeve's sleepover in front of him.

"Did you really think I love you?" She smirked the next day when asked,marking the end of
their relationship.

And that's when Soobin realized that everything was fake for her. Those promises she made? Every time, she told him she loved him and he was the only one? It meant nothing to her.

She loved Yeonjun,not him.

He loved her truly to the point he was willing to do anything for her but now, he isn't sure about anything.

He locked himself in his room for days, worrying his friends who lived in the dormitory with him. He truly regretted not listening to their warnings.

"What a fool I was!" He thought back to the time he defended Vivre against them.

"How could she do this to me? She used me to get to Yeonjun?" Soobin thought as anger finally took over him for the first time.

He must have looked like a fool following her orders 24/7 without knowing that she was making fun of him behind his back.

"Is this how she treats someone who loves her?" Soobin finally stopped blaming himself for their break up.

And that hatred replaced all the love Soobin had for her.

* Present Time *

"You okay?" Maeve's voice brought him back to his trance.

"Yeah, just thinking about stuff" He smiled but the fake smile didn't go unnoticed by his friend. "Let's not waste our time thinking about that witch. She doesn't deserve it"

"I agree"

"Excuse me, can you help me? I think I am lost", They turned around to see a cute boy with big cat eyes with dark purple hair staring at them with a pleading look.

"I am new here and can't find the dormitories", He pouted in frustration, exhausted from pulling his luggage along with him all day.

"Ah, it is the second building from here" Soobin informed the younger boy.

"Thank you so much! I am Yang Jungwon by the way!" Jungwon introduced himself with a smile, two dimples poking out from the side of his mouth.
