As fun as it was having eight guests in your house, you had to explain basically everything to them since they came from medieval times. And it stressed you out immensely; you were currently explaining how the kitchen facilities worked and what they should/shouldn't do.

And you explained it like the inanimate objects were real people.

"The microwave, or Michael the Wavious, and metal fork, or Sir Silver Prong, are sworn enemies and can never cross paths lest their meeting spell destruction for all." You explained, causing them to nod their heads.

Good, at least they understood that part.

They probably knew what a fork was but they definitely didn't know what a microwave was, so you had to explain it to them so they don't blow up your kitchen.

You made sure to explain everything else, like to open a window if they smell gas coming from the stove. And to not pour water on a pan that's on fire and put out the fire by placing a lid on the pan. Soon, you finished explaining everything in the kitchen and you all were hanging out in the living room, talking about random things like a few days ago. You looked among your guests and noticed one was missing, causing you to frown. You noticed it was Baldwin that wasn't present, and pulled Sarmenti aside.

"Hey, is Baldwin doing okay?" You asked, concerned. "I noticed he isn't here."

"Oh, actually he has this disease and it causes him to self-quarantine away from others." He explained, which concerned you more.

"Where is he? I'll check up on him."

"He's in the room you're letting us use."

You nodded briefly before turning to walk down the long hallway towards their shared room. Upon reaching the door, you brought up a hand and knocked softly.

"Baldwin? Are you alright?" You asked.

No answer.

Carefully, you grasped the handle and turned it, then let him know you were coming in the room. You opened the door and saw him facing the wall, his mask next to him on the bed. You closed the door behind you before sitting on the other side of him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Are you alright?" You asked quietly.

He turned away from you and lowered his head further, making you sigh.

"It's your disease, isn't it?" You asked, feeling him tense upon hearing your words. "Sarmenti told me."

He said nothing as he flexed his hands, as if unsure of what to do.

"Let me see, I can probably help." You spoke, removing your hand from his shoulder.

Hesitantly, he slowly turned towards you and what you saw nearly made you gasp. His face was terribly disfigured with part of his skull exposed.

You placed a hand on his shoulder again then tilted your head slightly, recognizing the disease.

"Leprosy..." Your voice trailed off, seeing him nod his head.

You abruptly stood up which startled him, making you apologize.

"I may have something, I'll be right back." You spoke, then left the room.

You went to the nearby bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet, relieved to see that the medication was still there. You grabbed the pill bottle before rushing back to the other room, making sure to close the door on the way in. You walked over and sat next to Baldwin then showed him the medicine bottle.Β

"My grandfather had the same disease, and he took this medicine to help." You explained.

"There's... a cure?" Baldwin asked in shock, looking at you.

"Yes, well, in the modern day there is, here--"

You opened the bottle before taking out two pills, and setting them in his hand.

You took note of how low it was; you're gonna be sure to put a reminder on your phone to get refills.

"Take two pills everyday while you're here, it'll get better, I'm sure." You stated.

You gave him a soft smile before standing up and placing the medicine bottle on the nightside next to the bed for him.

"I'll leave this here so you can take them every morning." You spoke, turning to him. "Or whenever you want to take them, doesn't matter to me."

You watched as he slowly stood up and unexpectedly hugged you, surprising you.

"Thank you." He spoke. "This means so much to me."

You smiled and hugged back before pulling away, the door to the room suddenly opening. You watched as Sarmenti entered the room and walked over to his partner, looking up at him. You turned to leave and let them have a moment, closing the door behind you.

"Ah, miss [____], there's someone at the door." You hear Solaire's familiar voice say.

"Oh, alright, thanks for letting me know." You say, turning towards him.

You see a smile on his face then watch as he returns to the living room. You walk out of the hallway and towards the front door, wondering who it was.

You so dearly hoped it wasn't more medieval-like characters.

You grasped the door handle before unlocking it and opened it, startled by what you saw.

You were relieved that there weren't any knights on your porch, but it didn't make it any better than the fact that the fucking military is at your door.

"U-uh, is there a problem, um, sirs?" You asked the two men nervously.

You stared up at the two tall soldiers, nervously waiting for an answer. The taller one wearing a skull mask shifted slightly as the one with a mohawk opened his mouth to reply.

"Yes, um, we got a little lost and-" He started, then got interrupted.

"A little?" The skull-faced soldier asked with a thick British accent. "We have no idea where we are, we're completely lost."

"Fine, you wanna explain the situation to the lass?"

You watched as they turned to you, making you freak out internally.Β

"Uhm, c-come in, we should probably talk it over." You spoke, stepping inside.

The two soldiers eagerly accepted your invitation and sighed in relief upon stepping into your house. You quickly closed and locked the door before going over to your now ten guests.

"Okay, if you could please wait here, I'm going to prepare refreshments." You spoke, before turning and walking to the kitchen.

You headed over to the fridge and opened it, eyes scanning over which beverage everyone would enjoy. You decided on sweet tea and pulled out a pitcher of the already made liquid, thankful you made some yesterday. You closed the fridge and turned around, almost dropping the pitcher upon seeing Sarmenti suddenly standing there.

"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He apologized immediately after seeing your reaction.

"It's alright." You simply stated, smiling. "Did you need something?"

You watched as he walked over and stood across the kitchen island from you.

"I just want to thank you, for helping my partner." He said. "I feared there would be no cure for his disease then you gave him a special kind of medicine, thank you."

"Of course, with the more modern medicine I gave him, he should get better soon." You explained, smiling wider.

You couldn't tell but you think he was smiling under the mask, happy about your explanation.

"Do you need help?" He asked suddenly.

"Oh, uh, sure, you can help give out glasses when we get back to the living room." You said, getting out eleven glasses for you and your guests.

"Okay."Β

You quickly yet carefully poured an even amount of sweet tea in each glass, then placed each glass on the tray you used before. You carefully picked up the tray and walked out of the kitchen with Sarmenti trailing behind you. Once you reached the living room, you began to give each person a glass with the jester's help. There were then three glasses left and Sarmenti took two of them for him and his partner, leaving the last one to you. You placed the tray nearby then took the last glass before sitting with your guests, taking your place next to Solaire. Your two new guests introduced themselves as Ghost and Soap, learning those were their callsigns.

Since you literally just met them, it made sense that they weren't comfortable sharing their actual names, sort of.

"So, uh, what should we all do?" Solaire asked.

"Mademoiselle, is there something nearby we could do?" Propeller Knight asked you.

"Like in public? Because if so, you all can't go out looking the way you do." You spoke. "You might receive weird looks and you probably don't want that."

They all nodded their heads in agreement which made you sigh and stand up.

"So I know you two," you spoke, pointing at your two new guests. "Already know your clothing sizes, yes?"

The two soldiers nodded their heads before you turned to your medieval guests.

"Now, as weird as it sounds, I'm going to have to measure all eight of you, which may make some of you uncomfortable." You explained and saw them slightly tense up, proving your point. "We can get that over with quickly if you just follow me."

You watch as the eight knights stand up and follow you as you start walking towards the stairs. You make your way up them before briefly looking behind you, making sure your guests were following you still. You led them to a room you haven't seen in a long time, but remember it was still there.

You were thankful to have discovered it while taking care of the house.

"Well, here we are." You said, turning around and gesturing to the large room.

You remembered the times your grandmother would make you outfits when you visited her.

"This was my grandmother's sewing room, she made me outfits a lot whenever I visited." You explained.

You then led them over to a different part of the room where there was a small circular platform and a tall mirror; it's where your grandmother took your measurements to make your outfits.

"Okay, I'm going to have to measure you one at a time." You spoke, grabbing a soft tape measure. "Who wants to go first?"

None of them said anything and looked between each other, unsure of who should go first. Then Solaire stepped forward with a smile, which seemed to relieve the others.

"Alright, if you could stand on this platform, I'll get started." You said, unravelling the tape measure.

Solaire gave a small nod and stood on the platform, slightly shifting.

"You may feel uncomfortable, I apologize if you do so." You spoke quickly.

You measured his height then wrote it down on a sheet of paper before turning back to him.

"Arms up, please." You state, and the knight did so.

You measured the length of his arm, the length of his leg, and the circumferences of his chest, wrist, and ankle; you wanted to be as accurate as possible. You repeated this process with the other seven knights, apologizing when they slightly tensed up at your actions. You wrote down each of their measurements then calculated what their sizes would be and wrote those down on a separate sheet of paper.

"Okay, I calculated what each of your sizes would be so I can get you different clothing." You explained, looking up from the size sheet. "Is there a particular style or aesthetic each of you prefer?"

The eight knights shifted slightly and seemed to think about your question before each one stepped forward and gave an answer. You wrote their preferred style next to their sizes then folded the piece of paper and put it in your pocket for later.

"I'm going to have to go to the store to get you all clothing to blend in." You explained.

You walked towards the door and out of the room with the knights in tow then made sure to close the door behind them.Β

"Ah, miss [____], I must ask," you hear Solaire say, making you turn your head. "What is a store?"

"Oh, it's a place where you can buy all sorts of things." You reply, walking down the stairs. "You can buy food, clothes, kitchenware, home decor, garden supplies, children's toys, tools, and other items."

"You can get all that, in one shop?" King Knight interjected, no doubt surprised.

"Yep, it's the modern day, we can even buy auto parts."Β

You couldn't tell what their expressions were, but you were sure all of them were surprised. All nine of you walked back downstairs and into the living room. Your two military guests were still there, thankfully, and you'd have to show them to a room so they have a place to sleep when night comes.

You decided you'd that when you get back, because helping your guests blend in was your top priority.

"Okay, I'm going to the store so I can get each of you an outfit." You told them. "We'll have to go another time so you can get more."

You walked to the front door and slipped on your shoes before grabbing your purse and car keys, then turned to your guests briefly.Β

"Solaire is in charge while I'm out, don't break anything, don't burn the house down, and for my sake and your own, do not kill each under any circumstance." You explained, then saw each of them nod their head in confirmation.

You felt like a mother saying those things.

You unlocked the door and walked out before locking the door again, then made your way towards your vehicle. You unlocked the driver side door before getting in and closing it, making sure to lock it again. You started your vehicle and buckled yourself then started to drive off your property and in the direction of the store. It thankfully didn't take long to get there and you found a decent parking space near the front.

You got out of your vehicle then locked it before turning and walking towards the store entrance, putting your vehicle keys in your purse. Just as you stepped into the store, you pulled out the folded sheet of paper from your pocket then unfolded said paper and made your way to the clothing area, going to the men's section. You carefully looked through each rack to find something each one would like, referring back to the sheet every so often. It took some time and after a bit of rushing around, you eventually found an outfit each of them would like, hopefully.Β

After confirming the correct amount of clothing you had, youΒ made a heavy sigh and started to walk to the front towards the self checkout. You were sure that you were receiving a lot of looks from nearby strangers for having so much clothing but you could care less, you had better things to do than worry about what others may think.

You walked up to one of the self checkout kiosks then began to scan each article of clothing, making sure to put each of your guests outfits in separate bags so you don't get confused. After scanning each piece of clothing and placing them in the correct bags, you grabbed your wallet from your purse then took out your debit card.

You were thankful to have inherited the fortune your grandparents left as well, seeing the clothing cost so much.

You scanned your card before putting it back in your wallet and placing it back in your purse, taking the receipt once it's done printing. You load all the bags into the cart then walk towards the exit of the store, sighing in relief as you realize no one stopped to question you. You walk out and make an immediate beeline for your vehicle, wanting to get back home quickly. You unlock your vehicle with your keys then go towards the back of the vehicle and open the trunk. You grab each bag one by one and put them in the trunk then closed it and moved the cart to the cart return, turning back and walking back to your vehicle. You opened the driver side door and got in your vehicle then closed the door, letting out a stressed sigh. You went to start your vehicle but a tapping on the window made you look over towards the sound, your eyes widening at what you saw.
