THE CAPITOL, JULY 4TH

        The entire stadium was chaos. Citizens were screaming so loud no one could hear themselves think, and the amount of yelling and cheering had the entire room shaking. Those in The Capitol had been waiting for this night for months, bets already being placed all the way back in March when the Quarter Quell twist was announced. People were on the edge of their seats, some couldn't even stay seated, and some had begun jumping up and down as the lights began to flicker on— they were insatiable.

Cosmo Flickerman basked in it. He loved seeing people lose their minds over something that he had the honor to host. Every year, the feeling of being able to announce and recap for The Hunger Games had the man glowing, he truly had been blessed with his family's name.

"Welcome, welcome!" Cosmo yelled to the crowd, only to be met with even louder cheering. He grinned, knowing this year was going to be unforgettable. "Now, the time has finally come. We have been waiting for this night for months, and now that's it's here, we could not be more excited."

People responded with adoration, just as he expected. The man could see roses being thrown on stage, along with peoples own scarves and clothing items. "Who is ready for the reapings of this years Quarter Quell? As we all know, this year is very special. Not only are we getting twelve pairs of tributes, but we are getting twelve pairs of siblings! Incredible! I am so excited, are all of you excited?"

The amount of noise inside the room had Cosmo's ears ringing, and he took it as his cue to signal the crew to turn on the screen behind him. The screen was the size of one of the stadiums wall, making it easy for the thousands of people to see it from wherever they were seated.

"Now, let the 150th annual Hunger Games begin!"

"From District One, not only do we have a pair of siblings, but we have a pair of twins. What a way to start off this year! Now, since their names were called, the betting has already begun for these blonde bombshells. Wisteria and Vervain Voss, both aged eighteen, and by the looks of it ready to wreak havoc. If you look up at the screen, you see the confidence radiating off these two, and I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us all this year."

Cosmo paused as he waiting for the data to come
in. After the reapings aired, sponsors began to bet on the tributes of their choice, and during the recaps the amount of sponsors the district had was announced.

"And just in the span of an hour, our Voss twins have managed to gain 25,389 sponsors. Incredible!"

"For District Two, we have a little different of a mix here! Nikolaus Thornton, aged eighteen, and Elide Thornton, aged fifteen, have taken their district by storm. The two of them also managed to instantly pull sponsors as soon as their names were called. Let me tell you, we definitely have a pair of fighters this year, as we can always expect from the district of masonry. We are all looking forward to see if alliances will be formed, and whether or not they will come up on top."

The entire stadium was going crazy, many of them loving the tributes they had been blessed with so far.

"In the span of an hour, the Thornton siblings have managed to gain 25,105 sponsors! People are really loving the tributes so far."

"For District Three, we seem to have a very interesting pair this year. It looks as if we have another set of twins, Artemis and Apollo Nephus, both aged eighteen. It's always hard to tell the type of tribute from a reaping in an outlying district, but I don't think I'm alone in thinking we might be surprised by the tributes this year. I have not seen such determined tributes from District Three in years, and when I tell you they have me on the edge of my seat. Looking forward to what they bring in the arena."

Many people seemed to agree with Cosmo, nodding their heads and cat calling to the footage of the reaping behind the host.

"After an hour, the Nephus twins have managed to gain 18,856 sponsors! We haven't seen this high of a number for an outlying district after a reaping in a long time. How exciting!"

"For District Four, I know I am not the only one to get goosebumps from this pair. Alarico Fernsby, aged eighteen, and Ida Fernsby, aged sixteen, have already debuted as some of The Capitols favorites. The siblings have definitely caught the attention of many, and with their confident act at the reaping, I know for a fact they will be keeping it."

Citizens screamed at their appearance on screen, and those who already planned to bet on the district waved their banners.

"In an hour, the Fernsby siblings have managed to gain 25,099 sponsors. We seem to have a very close race between Districts One, Two, and Four. Everyone in the Capitol is waiting to see how this plays out."

"For District Five, my heart warms just thinking about it. Vendetta Nigh, aged eighteen, and Solstice Nigh, aged fourteen, made their appearance at the reaping unforgettable. Once their names were called, the two met halfway to the stage and embraced each other in a hug that I could feel through the screen. The siblings continued to hold hands all the way to the Justice Building. Their bond seems to be unbreakable, and being able to see where that takes them will be an aspect to the Games we have never seen before."

Some people in the crowd shed a tear as they watched the two siblings embrace each other, and the sponsors for the district continued to go up.

"In an hour, the Nigh siblings have managed to gain 15,437 sponsors. Can't wait to see how they hold up through their journey to The Capitol!"

"For District Six, another heart wrenching scene to see. We have Mercury Maksim, aged seventeen, and Vesper Maksim, aged thirteen, who seemed very startled when their names were called. Young Vesper seemed to be frozen to the spot, when Peacekeepers attempted to lead her to the stage, she panicked and screamed for her brother. He quickly took action, and carried her to the stage himself and they stayed like that through the ceremony. The love of family can never be matched, and I cannot wait to see more of them."

The screen replayed the scene from the reaping, and the citizens awed once again when Mercury picked up his sister.

"In an hour, the Maksim siblings managed to gain 14,992 sponsors. We will see throughout the games whether that number will continue to rise or not!"

"For District Seven, some very heartbreaking news just came in. It seems one of our beloved tributes, Pippa Locklear, is no longer with us. The video of the reaping has been cut short as the young girl has reportedly taken her own life after being reaped along side her brother, Chitto Locklear, aged seventeen. It appears the incident occurred during the time tributes are allowed to say goodbye to their families, and it happened when the family was visiting her brother. Our thoughts are going to the brave young tribute who is now on his way to the Capitol on his own."

Many cried, others shouted in anger, but there was nothing to be done of the situation.

"In an hour, Chitto Locklear has managed to gain 14,308 sponsors. We hope to see him do well going foreword."

"For District Eight, these red haired siblings have taken The Capitol by storm. Minerva and Mars Thatch, both aged seventeen, have the crowd already cheering their names. Not a glimpse of fear was seen on these siblings faces, and I believe it's safe to say Minerva has shown us all she's excited for a fight. Maybe we will see an alliance with some other districts later with these siblings in the very near future."

People began throwing more of their flowers onto the stage as they watched the video of Minerva and Mars walking up to the stage, Minerva standing proud and waving, while Mars stood next to her smiling at the cameras.

"Now, after an hour, the Thatch twins have managed to gain 18,757 sponsors. An amazing number for District Eight!"

"For District Nine, there seems to be a lot that occurred ladies and gentlemen. Inside information has told me not only have these siblings been reaped, but they have not seen each other for years before their names were called! Estrella and Orion Cassia, both aged seventeen, appear to have been split up by their parents at a young age. What a family reunion if I do say so myself, and not the nice kind either by the look on young Orion's face. This adds an interesting aspect to the Games of just how deep the sibling bond can go, and whether or not growing up apart plays any elements or not, and if they would still be willing to stay together to the bitter end. We really have been given such an interesting mix this year, folks."

Citizens screamed as Orion appeared glaring on the screen, with Estrella beside him doing her best to stay emotionless. It was easy to tell these two would not be sticking together, and The Capitol absolutely loved the drama.

"In an hour, the Cassia twins have managed to gain 19,601 sponsors. The highest the district has ever had!"

"For District Ten, we had another tear jerker. Colt Bradley, aged eighteen, had to escort his younger sister Finch Bradley, aged thirteen, up to the stage. As soon as their names were called during the ceremony, little Finch appears to have screamed and broke into tears. The girl was terrified and refusing to move until her brother was able to escort her to the Justice Building, cutting the ceremony short. It has been announced clear as day that Colt is protective over his sister, and I see him protecting her throughout the whole Games. I cant wait to see how things go during training."

Women were dabbing under their eyes in order to collect their tears without ruining their makeup, and many people were chanting their names.

"In an hour, the Bradley siblings have managed to gain 14,103 sponsors. We will see whether or not these numbers will continue to rise or not."

"For District Eleven, we have witnessed the beginning of two fiery young tributes. Caldwell Schmidt, aged seventeen, and Juniper Schmidt, aged fifteen, have definitely made their first impressions. When their names were called, Peacekeepers had attempted to grab ahold of Junipers arm to escort her, but was quickly shoved back by the young girl. When they then moved to apprehend her, Caldwell made his appearance and shoved one of the Peacekeepers to the ground when they grabbed his sister. Everyone is okay, but we love to see tributes who are willing to put up a fight. Nothing boring from any outlying districts this year, am I right, folks?"

Catcalls rose all around the stadium as people watched the recap of the siblings, entertained to see a pair of fighters.

"In an hour, the Schmidt siblings have managed to gain 14,298 sponsors. The Capitol is looking forward to see more of them."

"And finally last, but certainly not least, District Twelve. And boy do we have a pair of fighters this year. Aurelia Kearney, aged sixteen, and Hari Kearney, aged eighteen, were nothing but determined as they took the stage. The two siblings are preparing themselves for a fight, and The Capitol is already ecstatic to see what they get themselves into."

The screen behind Cosmo replayed the last district reaping, and cheers grew in octaves as Hari had put a protective arm over his sister shoulders when they were escorted into the Justice Building.

"After an hour, the Kearney siblings have managed to gain 17,245 sponsors. What an amazing way to end the night!"

Cosmo took the front stage once again as the night started to lead to its ending, but everyone could barely contain their excitement as they all knew the Games were no where close to being over with. "Now, Ladies and Gentleman, we have met our tributes. We have seen their first appearances, and their first sponsor numbers have been revealed, but make sure to stay tuned because we are just getting started, aren't we folks?"

Shouts in agreement echoed around the room as Cosmo bellowed a laugh at their reaction, and taking a bow as they began cheering his name. The Capitol was cheering for the upcoming deaths of not only children, but of siblings, while their families back home were nothing but miserable and heartbroken. It was nothing new to how evil the Games could be, but The Capitol had for sure outdone itself in cruelty this year.

They might even ask for an encore.
