"I can't get a signal." Jackson gave up on calling for help. "But, I can get us back to base. Everdeen, give me to the hallow."

Roz put a hand on Peetas head to check on him after he was now sedated, in Zoyas arms as they both turned to Katniss when she didn't moved. Roz frowned her eyebrows. "Katniss?"

"Everdeen, what did I just say? The hallow. Come on." Jackson encouraged quickly and impatiently.

"Boggs gave it to me." she stared seriously.

"What are you talking about?" the older woman started over at her. Roz and Zoya shared an almost impressed look.

"He did. He transferred security footage to her. I saw him." one of the brothers from Cresidas team informed the group.

"Damn." Zoya spoke as Roz wacked her in the shoulder.

"Why would he do that?" Jackson stated at Katniss.

"I'm on special orders from Coin." Katniss lied as Roz's eyebrow shot up knowingly. "To assassinate president snow."

"Ayeee." Zoya drawed out the word with a grin, a tissue to her nose from Peeta accidentally hitting her a few minutes ago. "Now we're talking."

Finnick had to laugh.

"I don't believe that for one second." Jackson stared at Katniss, ignoring the comical duo that Roz was in the process of silently scolding. "As your new Unit Commander, I order you to transfer security clarence to me now."

"Don't do it." Zoya spoke up. "Let's kill the bastard."

"Shut it, Butterfield." Jackson warned her.

"Don't talk to her that way." Roz warned the woman.

"Give it to me." Jackson looked at Katniss again.

"I can't do that." she shook her head. A gun was drawn as Roz yanked hers free, aiming it at Jackson when she aimed it at Katniss.

"Let's not loose our heads here." Gale spoke as he held his own gun in hand.

"I'm not asking you again, Everdeen." Jackson stared from behind her gun. "Give me that hallow."

Zoya held her breath and Peeta closer before Cressida stepped forward. "She's telling the truth."

"Obviously she is." Roz defended Katniss.

"Plutarch wants it televised." Cressida fead into Katniss' lie. "He thinks if we can film the Mockingjay assassinating Snow, it'll make the capitol surrender before the casualties get too high."

Jackson stared, lowing her gun as Roz did the same. "Don't put a gun to her head again."

Jackson gave a single nod before looking at Katniss. "All right, solider. Hallows yours."

Katniss nodded. Gale checked the stairs, looking back. "I don't think we're gonna leave any foot prints. We should leave now. Those cameras outside should be filled up with oil."

"She can't move like this." the brunette spoke up, tending to one of the League sisters. "Her leg is too bad. We have to evacuate here. I'm sorry."

"I'll stay with her." her sister said confidently.

"As soon as we make contact, we will send somebody back. I promise you." Jackson's looked down to the pair.

"Finnick." Zoya spoke up as he helped her pull Peeta up to his feet, he was unstable on his feet. "Hang on, let him wake up fully."

She held his face, meeting his eye. "Peeta, hey. Can you walk?"

He saw her nose. "I'm so sorry, Zoya."

"Oh, that?" she scoffed. "It's nothing. Makes me look tough."

"Z, we gotta head out." Katniss nodded as they all headed out, the duo helping Peeta until he was fully stable onto his feet again. The buildings were filled with oil, Peetas eyes going to the man he'd killed. Zoya rubbed his back, wrapping her arms around his waist as Gale lead them to the nearest opening, into one of the building.

"Get these curtains closed!" Jackson ordered when they made it to the top.

"Looks like our place." Roz spoke to Zoya as they looked around.

"Shh." Zoya spoke when she heard trucks. "Do you hear that?"

Peeta held her hand as they all looked out the windows, taking notice of the Peace Keepers that swarmed the building they had just been in. With multiple shots fired, they bombed the place. Finnick sighed. "It's the Leagues."

Zoya laid her head onto Peetas shoulder as they all pulled away from the window. Roz bend down with Katniss, holding her shoulders gently as she breathed heavy. The anthem began to play, Zoya gapped at the projector. "Oh, you have got to be kidding me."

Caesar Flickerman appeared. Peetas hands tightened with Zoyas as past memories played in his head. "Good afternoon, i'm Ceasar Flickerman here with our continuing coverage of the defense of the capitol. Today, as our Peacekeepers valiantly hold off the rebels, our story takes a surprising twist."

A black and white video played of the unit running for the building. "Katniss Everdeen, our once favorite daughters has infiltrated the city with some of the Victors, who's names are all too familiar. Finnick O'dair, Rosalind Conners, Zoya Butterfield, and Peeta Mellark."

The clip of Peeta shoving the squad member into the oil played, his hold on Zoya loosened as she turned to his sad eyes, taking his face in her hands with a kiss to the forehead. "Clearly some alliances don't last forever. Take a look at what happened just a moment ago when our peacekeepers cornered Katniss Everdeen and her band of foolish rebels."

Reliving the bombing wasn't as hard this time, the video playing before her eyes and being seen as though the peacekeepers took them all out. "So, there you have it. Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire, a girl who inspired so much violence, seems to have met a violet end herself. Stay tuned for further information."

"Psychos." Roz rolled her eyes.

"So, now that we're dead, what are we gonna do?" Gale spoke up.

"Isn't it obvious?" Peeta took the attention. "The next move is to kill me."

"Okay, well, that's the last move we'll make." Zoya shook her head.

"I murdered one of our squad members." his voice cracked. "Katniss is right. I'm a mutt. And it's only a matter of time before I snap again. I'm not in control. I need a nightlock pill, so I can die when I need to."

"If it gets to that point, i'll kill you myself." Gale looked his way.

"And i'll shoot you in the face so many times that the capitol wouldn't even be able to recognize who you are in order to identify your body." Zoya glared in his direction.

"He said it himself, he's not in control." Gale mocked her. "It shocks me you are, after what happened."

"Gale." Katniss scolded him.

"You mean after the capitol shocked, starved, and beat the both of us?" Zoya asked as the room fell silent. "Right, I can't blame you. How could anyone be in control after something like that, right?"

"I don't know what either of you went through-" Gale started.

"Exactly, you don't." Zoya stopped him. "Meaning you don't get a say in killing him. Not after what he's gone through."

"What? You wanna be the one to do it?" Gale asked her in disbelief. "You wouldn't be able to."

"Because it's not gonna come down to that." she mocked him. "I'm not gonna sit here and argue with a grown man with a woman's name."

"Your level or immaturity-" he started.

"Gale, Gale, you're a female." she cut him off with her mockery. Finnick laughed.

"Enough. Both of you." Katniss cut in, looking back at Roz. "It's been a long day."

"Let's find something to eat, trying to take shifts sleeping." Roz agreed, her hand on Katniss' shoulder as she looked at Zoya. "Yeah?"

"Are we allowed to come back here?" Peeta whispered when Zoya had encouraged him to follow her to the empty bedroom in the apartment.

"Figured we could use some space from everyone for a while." Zoya shut the door, the dark room slightly lit by the moonlight from the thin curtains and little lamp. "Are you okay?"

He nodded, sitting down as she took the heavy vest off first, helping him do the same. They fell onto the bed on sync, facing each other. He felt like how he once did, only lacking his happiness. Zoya placed a hand on his face. "Gale is an idiot. You're gonna be okay."

Peeta swallowed. "I'm not in control, Zoya. I don't want to hurt anyone again. Especially not you."

"You won't." she shook her head.

"You can't know that." he stopped her. "You can't promise it either."

Zoya looked at his lips. "Yes, I can."

She leaned in gently, placing her lips onto his. Last time they kissed, it caused the near end of the world to happen back in the games. A minor form of fear was in both of them when they did it, but maybe it had to be worth it. He kissed her back, his hands holding onto her wrist gently. He felt better, more in control with who he was, because he thought of her and how she held him.

The small moment was such a need in a time like this, regardless if there had been more then enough things to worry about instead. It didn't matter right now, not when this was the first moment it had been just the two of them in months. Peeta felt his heart beat faster, it was familiar, comforting It reminded him of every other time he'd see her back when she was his sponsor, or when they were having to sneak around to see each other. He needed to feel how he felt before in order to remember who he was, pulling away from her lips knowingly. "Last time that happened, we cause a riot in the capitol. Real or not real?"

"Real." she held his face.

"You love me." he stared at her. "Real or not real?"

Zoya held his face, her thumb brushed over his cheek bone. "Real."
