IT WAS THE NEXT MORNING AND Belle found herself with an aching pain shooting up her spine and neck. Stretching her aching joints, she yawned, her messy bun hair falling over her eyes.

"Chivato..." Chevez announced, catching Billy's attention. The Mexican-Indian nodded towards the broken window, gesturing to what was going on outside. Belle and all the Regulators gathered around the window to see a mass of troops file through the town on the narrow paths.

"Fucking hell," Belle whispered, her eyes flittering between all the US troops below.

"Billy, we're good but this is getting ridiculous," Josiah calmly spoke from behind. Charley and Steve scurried away from the window and back to their guns. Josiah and Belle took their places, kneeling beside Billy and the window.

"I like these odds," Billy grinned at the couple smugly. The three watched as Murphy rode up to the house with Yen and another elder man.

"Come on, Yen," Belle whispered, resting her cheek against the side of her rifle. Murphy exchanged a few harsh words with an army officer, but Belle's eyes remained on the small Chinese girl.

The two girl's eyes met. With a small smile, Belle sent a timid wave to Yen. Her breath shaking, Yen grabbed her skirts and pushed herself up from her seat in the back of the carriage. Running out of the wagon, Yen sprinted towards the house, while Murphy and a few soldiers ran after her.

"Yen!" Belle yelled. "Doc, Billy, when those soldiers come any closer, shot at them. I'll go get Yen," Sending the woman a few nods, Belle ran down the rickety stairs to see Yen scared out of her wits at the front door. "Yen," Belle whispered, holding the rifle up by her head, in case the men outside began to shoot. "Come on, darling, you made the right decision."

The moment the two girls emerged back upstairs the shootings began once again. After a few minutes, they stopped, leaving the site in panicked silence. Charley began yelling about how he needed to go back to his wife, while Billy argued with him.

Steve looked out the window, seeing smoke rising from the downstairs and up to the sky. "They lit it, guys. They lit the house!"

Josiah made his way over to Belle and Yen, hastily. "Are you both alright?" Josiah asked, but before either girl could answer, bullets began to pierce through the sky once again. Josiah clutched both girls in his embrace, protecting them from the chaos around them.

Charley began screaming in anger and terror. "Kinney, you bastard! I'm gonna shoot your ass from Patricio if I have to! You shithead!" Charley loaded his gun, standing up and aiming out of the window.

"Yeah, Charley! Yeah!" Billy encouraged, standing with him to shoot at the soldiers below. When both men calmed down slightly, Josiah called over to Alex.

"Alex, get Susan out of here!" Alex dragged Susan out of the house, ceasing fire. "You two go too!"

"What?!" Belle slightly yelled, clutching the smaller girl to her chest. "We're not leaving! They'll just take Yen again, and they'll kill me straight away, they know I've been apart of this, Doc!"

Before Josiah could answer back, Steve cut in. "Where's Chevez?! That dirty Mexican son of a bitch! I knew I didn't have to trust him! I knew it! I knew it!" Steve went a miniature rampage, breaking a window and viciously throwing boxes and packages out of it, Charley and Alex joining him.

"Hang on, I have an idea!" Belle yelled out, with a grin plastering her features, mirroring Billy's.

-----

Moments later, Steve and Charley used all their strength to haul the heavy chest that contained Billy out of the window. There was a moment of stillness before Billy burst out of the chest, firing everyone he saw in front of him. Steve ran out of the side door, doing the same. The rest following after him.

The group saw Chevez riding up the road with three horses following after him. Belle grabbed Josiah's arm, with Yen's hand in the other and pulled them over to two horses. Belle watched in horror, as Charley, Billy and Chevez all got shot, Doc shortly after. Belle helped Yen up behind her on her horse. "Darling, are you alright?" Belle hastily asked Doc, placing a tender hand on his cheek as her horse grew closer to his. Doc nodded, trying to smile, but the pain was evident in his tight simper. With worry etched on her face, Belle watched as blood spilt from Charley's mouth and wounds. "Charley!" Belle yelled out. Belle watched as the man in question raised his pistol once more, aiming it right at John Kinney. Pulling the trigger, the old man fell to the ground, dead. Beaming with proud, Charley followed after, plummeting to the ground.

Seconds later, Steve was shot down too, his face falling in a puddle of mud. Billy rode over to the Josiah, Belle, Chevez, and Yen, ushering them away from the scene. Belle twisted her head back to the house once more to see Alex being relentlessly shot at, with his home burning behind him.

"Hang on!" Billy yelled to the four riders. Billy turned back around to the Town Centre, riding back into the open. Raising his gun, Billy shot Murphy square in the forehead, causing the older man's body to go slack and fall.

"Now it's over,"

------

In the middle of the desert, the group stopped. Belle jumped from her horse, allowing Yen to shuffle forward on the saddle and grabbing a hold of the reins.

"I love you, Yen, you know that, right?" Belle told the little Chinese girl, grabbing one of her hands.

"I know. And I love you too, Belle," Yen smiled, squeezing the girl's hand. "Look after her, will you Sir?" Yen directed her last comment to Doc.

"Of course, ma'am," Doc smiled, beaming down towards Belle.

"Where will you go?" Belle asked the smaller girl.

"Who knows?" Yen shrugged. "I'll go whether the wind takes me,"

Belle smiled. "Goodbye, Yen,"

"Goodbye, Belle," And with that, Yen sped off. Belle hopped up behind Josiah on his horse, wrapping her arms around his middle and leaning her head against his back, the position mirroring that of the night her father died.

"Suppose you're travelling to California, Chevez?" Billy asked the knife-wielder.

"You supposed right, chivato," Chevez chuckled. The Mexican-Indian shook both men's hands, before turning to Belle. Chevez grabbed one of her hands, pulling it towards his lips, pressing a kiss to her knuckles. "Thank you, Belle. For everything that you've ever done for me. I hope all our paths shall cross again,"

"See you, chivato," Belle whispered, a single tear falling from her eye, as she watched her old friend ride away.

"Well, looks like this is it, friends," Billy announced to the couple with a grin. "Hey, when you two get hitched, remember to invite me, alright?"

"Alright, Billy," Josiah breathed out with a large smile. "We'll make sure of it,"

"Billy?" Belle called out. Billy hummed in response with a smile, waiting for the girl to continue. "I'm sorry for not trusting you enough. I appreciate all you did for my boys, I honestly do. Sorry I didn't show it too often."

"Hey, don't be sorry, Miss Belle -"

"Hey, that's Belle to you," the girl beamed at the brunette boy, a chuckled erupting from both men.

"Pals?" Billy asked the couple with a simper.

The couple glanced at each other with grins, nodding at the other.

"Pals."
