CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO:
LOCATOR SPELL
SHE TOSSED AND TURNED IN her sleep.
Sounds of panic flowing from her mouth every so often to the point it had woken Scott up, making him come in there and wake her up. She had shot up from the bed so fast, a Latin phrase flying from her lips as she pushed her hand out, sending Scott flying across the room.
"Oh my god." Elaine mumbled, placing a hand over her mouth as her eyes widened in surprise. She quickly scrambled out of her bed, kneeling beside her brother. "Are you alright? I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to do that."
"I'm fine." He assured. "What about you? I could hear your panicked mumbled from my room."
"Just, uh, just a bad dream." Elaine assured, swallowing as she tucked her hair behind her ear. That's when Melissa quickly entered the room.
"Is everything alright in here?"
"Yeah, mom, just a bad dream. Scott scared me and I practically threw him across the room." Elaine answered. "I didn't mean to wake you."
"You've been having a lot of those lately." Melissa told her, kneeling down beside her. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Elaine just shook her head in response. Melissa looked at her for a moment before nodding her head, giving her a kiss on the head. "Try and go back to sleep, alright."
"Okay." Elaine mumbled, nodding her head. Her mother gave them both a smile before standing up and walking back out of the room.
"What's going on, El?" Scott asked her. Elaine shrugged.
"I don't know." She whispered. "I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
"You're my sister, of course I'm going to worry about you."
"Well, don't." Elaine sighed before standing up, helping Scott to his feet.
"You know you can talk to me." Scott tried. Elaine nodded her head.
"I know." The girl softly replied. "Just. . . go back to sleep." He looked at her hesitantly before giving up and nodding his head before walking out of her room, Elaine closing her door behind him. The girl put her hands up to her head, clenching her jaw at the headache that was beginning to form before she walked over to her bookshelf and grabbed the leather book her birth mother had given her. She sat down on her bed, flipping through the pages as she searched for the spell that had taken place in her dream before she found it. She looked at it before frowning slightly.
"A locator spell?"

"She ate the liver?" Scott asked. Elaine, Stiles, and Scott were all walking through the parking lot and towards the school, Stiles having just told the two about the body that had been dug up with the liver missing from it.
"No, I didn't say she ate itโ๏ธI just said it was missing." Stiles corrected. "And, you know what? Even if she did, so what? It's the most nutritious part of the body."
"That's disgusting." Elaine muttered.
"I never ate anyone's liver." Scott pointed out.
"Yeah, right. 'Cause, when it comes to Werewolves, you're a real model of self-control." Stiles sarcastically responded before stopping and turning to look at Scott. "Actually, waitโ๏ธhold on. You're the test case for this, so we should be going over what happened to you."
"What do you mean?" Scott frowned.
"I mean, like, what was going through your mind when you were turning, you know? What were you drawn to?" Stiles explained.
He shrugged. "Allison."
"Okay, nothing else? Seriously?" Stiles asked in disbelief.
"Nothing else mattered. But, no, that's good, though, right? 'Cause the night that Lydia was bitten, she was with you." Scott pointed out.
"Technically she was with me right before she was bitten." Elaine pointed out. "But before I could do anything, I was thrown head first into the bleachers." Elaine gave him a sarcastic smile.
"And she was looking for Jackson." Stiles answered, just as said male pulled up into the parking lot.
"Oh, don't sound so jealous." Elaine joked with a scoff, rolling her eyes slightly.
"I'm not jealous." Stiles corrected.
"When it comes to Lydia, you're always jealous." Elaine answered, patting him on the shoulder. "See you both in chemistry." The two watched as she walked away.
"I left the dance to pick her up that night." Stiles mumbled. "I wasn't jealous of Lydia or Jackson."
"But you were jealous of someone?" Scott asked, raising his eyebrows.
"I hate her selflessness. It's annoying." Stiles muttered.
"That's literally a completely different conversation." Scott argued as Stiles started to walk away, quickly following him. "Were you jealous of El?"
Stiles sighed before mumbling, "No. I was jealous of the people she was dancing with." Scott's lip twitched upwards slightly before the two quickly entered the boys locker room. When it came to it, Elaine took her seat beside of Stiles, offering him a gentle smile as she moved her hair off her shoulder. As soon as the bell rang, Mr. Harris was quick to inform them that there was a pop quiz, making groans fall from the classroom. He passed out the papers, and was quick to tell them to start.
"All right, it's causing me severe mental anguish to say this, but he's right." Stiles told Scott, talking about the conversation the two had had with Jackson in the boys locker room.
"I know." Scott sighed.
"What if the next body part she steals is from someone who's still alive?" Stiles questioned.
"This is a pop quiz, Mr. Stilinski. If I hear your voice again, I may be tempted to give you detention for the rest of your high school career." Mr. Harris said, giving the boy a sarcastic smile.
"Can you do that?" Stiles asked, frowning, earning an amused smile from Elaine.
"Well, there it is again. Your voiceโ๏ธ triggering the only impulse I've ever had to strike a student repeatedly and violently. I'll see you at three o'clock for detention." Elaine had to tightly close her lips at the teacher's words as Scott turned his head to look at the boy. "You too, Mr. McCall?"
"No, sir." Scott quickly shook his head.
Elaine didn't glance twice once Jackson got up out of his seat, leaving the room in a hurry. Elaine was the first one to finish, getting up from her seat and handing Mr. Harris her test. She then turned on her heel, sitting back down before pulling out her mother's book of spells. She flipped it back to the page that had "Locator Spell" written on the top of it, reading the words over and over and the things that would be needed in order to complete the spell. When the bell rang, Elaine grabbed the attention of her brother and Stiles.
"I might have a way to track Lydia's exact location." She told the two, looking up from the book to glance between them. Scott and Stiles shared a look with one another before looking towards the girl.
"I need to make a trip to Lydia's house first." Elaine mumbled before closing the book and grabbing her stuff, walking out of the room.

When school ended, Allison allowed Elaine to borrow her car, whilst Elaine dropped Allison off at her house for Kate's funeral that she had to attend today. The two had exchanged a long hug, Elaine whispering reassuring words to the female before thanking her for allowing Elaine use of the car. Elaine made it to Lydia's house, knocking on the front door and offering Mrs. Martin a smile.
"Elaine! What are you doing here?"
"Natalie." Elaine smiled gently. "I, uh, I'm just worried about Lydia. I wanted to see how you were doing."
"Please, come in." She stepped aside, welcoming the child that was practically a second daughter to her into her home. "Would you like anything to drink?"
"No thank you." Elaine shook her head. "How are you?"
"Worried sick." The woman sighed. "What about you, sweetheart? I know how close you and Lydia are."
"Terrified if I'm being honest." Elaine answered. "But, I have faith that Sheriff Stilinski will be able to find her. If anyone can, it would be him."
"Thank you, Elaine." Natalie smiled. "We're going to get her back."
"I can promise you we will find her." Elaine assured. "Is it alright if I use your bathroom real quick?"
"Of course! You know where it is." Elaine offered her a small smile before walking out of the room and going up the steps, but instead of entering the bathroom, she entered Lydia's bedroom. The girl looked around before walking over to Lydia's jewelry, grabbing one of the teenagers necklaces before quickly stuffing it into her jacket. She made it back down before peeking her head into the kitchen where Natalie was.
"Natalie, I'm sorry, but my brother just called me and said he needed me to come get him."
"Go." She waved. "Thank you for checking in on me." Elaine smiled before walking away.
โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
"Okay, so what exactly is this?" Stiles asked as he and Scott stood in her bedroom. The girl was sitting on the floor with a map of the town placed on the floor, Lydia's necklace in her hand. The girl sighed.
"It's called a locator spell. I chant these words, and hover Lydia's necklace over the map, and it should give me an approximate location as to where she is." Elaine told them.
"How do we even know this is going to work? You've never done magic before. Well, not that much anyways." Scott told her.
"Scott, I shot up last night and shouted and unknown Latin phrase which caused you to slam into the wall. Rebekah said it herself. I'm from a powerful line of witches, is practically second nature to me." Elaine told him.
"I told Allison that I would be at the funeral."
"Go. I'll just call you." Elaine waved them off. The two boys exchanged looks before nodding their heads and leaving. Elaine sat there for a moment before hovering the necklace over the map. She sighed before looking at the words, memorizing them quickly before closing her eyes and quickly saying them.
"Faire ร voir lร rรฉ." She repeated the phrase a few times before a gasp fell from her lips. Flashes fell before her eyes as she saw Lydia, leaves decorated her hair as she walked through the forest. It then flashed to a body laying there with its liver missing. And then the road. She gasped once more once the flashes faded. letting out panted breaths as she swallowed thickly. "Holy shitโ๏ธthat worked. That actually fucking worked!" The girl quickly scrambled up from the floor, running down the steps and grabbing the keys to Allison's car before quickly cranking it and dialing Scott's number. She glanced at the sky that had turned dark before he picked up.
"El?"
"I found her." The girl quickly stuttered out, speeding down the road.
"Does it happen to be near the newest body that was found." Stiles asked, Scott having put the girl on speaker phone.
"That's exactly where it is." Elaine told him, nodding.
"We're already on our way." Scott informed her.
"I'll meet you there." Elaine told them before quickly hanging up and pressing down on the gas pedal. When she arrived, an ambulance was there along with the cops. Elaine quickly got out of the car.
"Elaine, what are you doing here?" Noah asked the girl.
"Umโ๏ธ"
"Stiles?" Stiles quickly appeared beside the girl, before she looked around, her eyes narrowing on a figure that was coming from the woods.
"Lydia?" Elaine was quick to ask. Lydia walked out, her arms covering her chest as she walked out with no clothes on. "Lydia!"
"Well?" Lydia asked. "Is someone going to give me a coat?"
"Sheriff, may Iโ๏ธ" Elaine asked. Noah quickly handed Elaine his coat as Elaine walked up to the girl, wrapping it around her. She looked at her best friend who looked scared out of her mind. "Hey, Lyds."
"Elaine." The girl mumbled, tears covering her face. Elaine smiled at her, picking the leaves from the girl's hair. Elaine looked back, meeting the eyes of Stiles as a proud smile fell on her face. She had actually did a spell. And it had worked. And now her best friend was standing in front of her, no longer missing.
"Let's get you some clothes, yeah?" Elaine softly said. Lydia nodded her head before Elaine gently wrapped an arm around her friend, leading her to the car, driving away with the Sheriff following after her.
