CHAPTER SIXTEEN:
A PSYCHOTIC WEREWOLF THAT'S INTO TEAM WORK
"THAT'S MY BATTERY." STILES SPOKE, shining the flashlight on the thing before going to get up only for Scott to drag him back down.
"Don't!" Scott quickly hissed.
"We have to move." Stiles quickly told him, glancing between the two siblings.
"He could be right outside." Scott told him.
"He is right outside!" Stiles snapped, his voice a whisper. They glance towards the battery once more before looking back towards one another.
"Just let me take a look." Scott quickly whispered. Slowly, Scott moved up towards the window, his eyes searching the parking lot whilst Elaine and Stiles looked at him expectantly.
"Anything?" Elaine questioned.
Scott shook his head "No."
"Move now?" Stiles suggested.
"Move now." Scott agreed before the three stood up and carefully and quietly walked out of the classroom. They looked down the dark halls, Elaine silently thankful for Stiles' flashlight, knowing that she would probably be having a mental breakdown right about now without it. Scott looked around before saying, "This way."
"No, no, no." Stiles disagreed, earning a questioning look from the two. "Somewhere without windows."
"Every single room in this building has windows." Scott exclaimed.
"Or somewhere with less windows." Stiles cleared up.
"The locker room." Scott quickly said, Stiles and Elaine nodding their heads in agreement before quickly making their way to it.
"Call your dad." Elaine suggested as she closed the locker room door behind her and joined Scott's side.
"And tell him what?" Stiles questioned the girl who quickly shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't fucking know! Something!" She hissed. "Gas leak. A fire. Whatever the hell you want! If that thing sees that the parking lot is filled with cop cars, it'll take off."
"What if it doesn't? What if it goes completely Terminator and kills every cop in sight, including my dad?" Stiles shot back.
"They have guns!" Scott quickly backed his sister up.
"Yeah, and Derek had to be shot with a wolfsbane-laced bullet to even slow him down, you remember that?"
Elaine huffed, running a hand through her hair whilst Scott let out a sigh. "Then we-we have to-we have to find a way out and just run for it."
"There's nothing near the school for at least a mile." Elaine informed her brother, biting her lip as she deeply frowned.
"What about Derek's car?" Scott suggested.
"That could work." Stiles nodded. "We go outside, we get the keys off his body, and then we take his car."
"And him." Elaine told the duo, crossing her arms over her chest, earning a look of disbelief from Stiles and a nod of agreement from Scott. Elaine raised an eyebrow at the boy, silently daring him to challenge her.
"Fine. Whatever." The boy simply answered. With that, the three headed back towards the locker room door, and just as Stiles was about to grab the handle, Scott grabbed onto his wrist, stopping him from doing so making the two give him a questioning look.
"What?" Stiles asked.
"I think I heard something." Scott simply responded.
"Like what?" Stiles whispered.
"Quiet!" Scott shushed him. There was a moment before they were all taking steps back from the door, Scott quick to push the flashlight out of sight before Scott quickly said, "Hide!" Stiles was quick to jump into a locker, making Elaine wince at the loud sound before she and Scott quickly did the same thing. Elaine stood there, her eyes closed as her heart rate seemed to spike. It was so dark. Her eyes seemed to snap open when she heard the door open. They all listened as footsteps made their way closer, Elaine seeming to move down into a crouching position just as something walked by her locker. And that's when a scream fell from the man's mouth, making Stiles and Elaine quickly jump out of their lockers to see the man had found Scott. They quickly tried to shush the man, begging him to be quiet.
"Quiet my ass! What the hell are you trying to do, kill me?" The janitor snapped at them. "All three of you get out."
"Will you just listen for half a second, okayβοΈ"
"Not okay." The janitor snapped. He started pushing the three towards the door whilst saying, "Get the hell out of here right now." He quickly threw them out of the locker room, Stiles quickly grabbing onto Elaine before she could lose her balance and fall face first to the floor.
"God, just one second to explainβοΈ" Stiles tried only to be cut off again.
"Just shut up and go!" The man snapped. That was when he was yanked back into the locker room, making the three jump in surprise. They watched the janitor slam into the window of the door, blood seeming to be splattered onto the glass as he let out screams. Elaine covered a hand with her mouth, fearful tears filled her eyes. Scott tried to get to the man, but Stiles grabbed him, pushing him the other direction.
"Go!" Stiles quickly yelled. He glanced towards Elaine who seemed frozen in her spot. He quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her along with him. They all quickly ran down the hall, going towards an exit and pushing at the doors only for them to not budge.
"What the hell?" Stiles questioned.
"It's a dumpster." Scott informed.
"He pushed it in front of the door to block us in." Stiles muttered. The boy kept pushing the door, creating a lot of ruckus. "Come on, help me."
"Stop!" Scott quickly hissed before grabbing him and pushing him down the hall.
"I'm not dying here. I'm not dying at school." Stiles snapped.
"We're not going to die." Scott told him.
"God, what is he doing? What does he want?" Stiles whined.
"Me!" Scott shouted, making Elaine look up at him with wide eyes. "Derek says its stronger with a pack."
"Oh, great! A psychotic Werewolf who's into teamwork. That's-that's beautiful." Stiles sarcastically spoke. Scott suddenly stopped, his attention turning towards the windows. Stiles and Elaine both looked their only to see the Alpha standing on the roof of the school, looking directly at them. And then he started running towards them.
"Oh shit!" Elaine screamed, Stiles once again was quick to grab her hand before they started running again with the Alpha close on their heels. They ran down a flight of steps before busting into a room and quickly hiding behind a set of locker's causing Elaine to take a shaky breath. Her hand tightened around Stiles' as she felt her heart rate continue to pick up. She tried her best to stay calm, and she could hear a spell repeating in her head from where her birth mother had used it on her that night in the clinic. But she couldn't speak.
Scott glanced around the corner of the lockers before quickly placing his head against the metal, closing his eyes and glancing towards Stiles. Stiles slapped the man's arm, looking at him with a questioning look and Scott was quick to tell him to go. He kept Elaine's hand in his as he ran. They turned around, listening to the vicious roars of the Alpha.
"Alright, we have to do something." Stiles spoke.
"Like what?" Scott quizzed.
"I don't know." Stiles answered. "Kill it, hurt it, inflict mental anguish on it, something." They group stayed silent, looking around before Stiles started messing with his keys, earning alarmed looks from the two. He pulled out his keys before tossing them, sending the Alpha in the other direction. Stiles quickly pulled Elaine and Scott back before waiting for the Alpha to pass them and then quickly slamming the door shut. They grabbed a desk, quickly pushing it up against the door before exchanging looks with one another.
"Come on, get across." Stiles quickly told the two.
"What? Absolutely not. I am not passing by the window of that door just to meet my fate with that alpha smashing its hand through and clawing my throat out!" Elaine hissed.
"Wow, that was really vivid and violent." Stiles commented. "Come on!" Before Elaine could say anything else, Scott quickly wrapped an arm around his sisters waist, forcing her to cross the desk and onto the other side where Stiles stood. That was when Stiles started leaning closer towards the door, earning a slap from Elaine.
"What are you doing?" She snapped at him, making Scott look at the boy and shake his head.
"I just wanna get a look at it." He quickly told them. Elaine looked at him like he was insane.
"Are you crazy?" Scott voiced her thoughts.
"Look, it's trapped, okay?" He told them. "It's not going to get out." With that, Stiles climbed on top of the desk, peeking through the window and into the room the alpha was now held in. "Yeah, that's right! We got youβοΈ"
"Shut up!" Both McCall siblings hissed.
"No, I'm not scared of this thing." Stiles told them. That's when the Alpha slammed on the door, making Stiles lose his balance and practically fall off the desk before he managed to catch himself. "I'm not scared of you. Right? 'Cause you're in there, and we're out here. You're not going anyβοΈ" That's when the trio all heard the sound of the Alpha indeed going somewhere. And that was to the floor that was right above them.
"You're a fucking lunatic, you know that?" Elaine snapped at him, fear mixing into anger as she spat the words at the boy. When they saw the tiles above them start to bend, Stiles followed it with his flashlight before one of them fell from the roof, making the three quickly start to run once again.
"Wait." Scott suddenly spoke. "Do you hear that?"
"Hear what?" The duo questioned.
"It sounds like a phone ringing." Scott explained.
"What?" Stiles questioned.
Suddenly, an alarmed look crossed Scott's face. "I know that ringβοΈit's Allison's phone."
