CHAPTER FOURTEEN:
YOU ARE NOT NORMAL

ELAINE LOOKED AT THE WOMAN, her eyes narrowed slightly as she crossed her arms over her chest. She had watched as the woman examined what she could see of the home before finally turning to Elaine with a smile.

"Thank you, for giving me the chanceโ€•๏ธŽ"

"Yeah, whatever. If you are who you say you are, and you wanted absolutely nothing to do with me, then why are you here?" Elaine asked.

"It's starting." The woman, who had finally given her name as Rebekah, answered with a sad sigh. "I was hoping that maybe it had passed you, but with my luck. . ."

"What's starting?" Elaine asked, frowning. "Do you know why I did what I did earlier? Because, I've been having these weird ass dreams and you've been in them and you kept saying shit in Latin. And there was that time at the clinic-"

"What happened at the animal clinic was my fault." Rebekah answered with a sigh. "I didn't mean to scare you."

"That was you?" Elaine snapped, narrowing her eyes at the woman. "What the hell, lady? This was obviously an awful idea. Alright. I change my mind. Get the hell out of my house."

"Elaine, wait, listen to me!" The woman begged. "You need to know what you are, what you can do, and who you really come from."

"I don't need or want to know anything." Elaine spoke through gritted teeth.

"So, you don't want to know how you knew a spell that could cause my mouth to basically disappear?" Rebekah asked. Elaine pursed her lips. "You've learned about the supernatural, obviously, seeing as your brotherโ€•๏ธŽScott, is his name I believeโ€•๏ธŽis a werewolf." Elaine's eyes widened at this.

"H-how did you know that?" Elaine stuttered. She didn't recall telling anyone, or even daring to speak about it.

"I've been keeping an eye on you, Elaine." She answered. "Ever since I left you on Melissa's doorstep, I've watched everything that you've went through. I've watched you grow closer with Scott, and that boy Stiles who you seemingly have a crush on."

"I don't have a crush on Stiles!" Elaine quickly yelled, her arms tightening around her self.

"That's not my point." Rebekah sighed. "My point is that you are not normal, Elaine."

"Really? Because the Latin incantation wasn't enough proof of that." Elaine scoffed. Silently, she was freaking out and her heart rate was screaming at her. She had just learned about the fact that werewolves existed, and that her brother was one of them along with Derek Hale. She refused to believe that she too wasn't all that normal, but her birth mother seemed to enjoy destroying all her hopes and dreams.

"Elaine, you come from a long line of Smith witches." Rebekah quickly tore off the band-aid, and Elaine's mouth fell open.

"E-excuse me?" The girl stuttered, wide eyed. "So you wanna show back up into my life just to tell me I'm a witch? What the fuck is wrong with you? I literally just found out about Scott and am finally coming to terms with the fact that he is no longer human, and you just decide to appear on my front step, claim to be the woman that abandoned me, and then tell me that I'm a witch, and can use a simple word to make someone's mouth disappear?"

"Precisely." The woman nodded. "But it goes way deeper than that."

"I think I'll just use the internet to find out my heritage. Thanks for the offer though." Elaine sarcastically smiled.

"Elaine, listen to me, you are a very powerful being. And I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you. Truly, I am. But, I'm here now, and I want to help you be able to control it. To help you grow to your full potential." Rebekah responded.

"I'm sure there's a step-by-step book somewhere in the world that'll help me out." Elaine responded.

"Elaine, please. . ." Elaine rose an eyebrow at the woman as she sighed. "Fine, if you don't want me to be there to constantly help you. Just let me give you my notes filled with spells, and things to help you out. "

"Who says that I even want to pursue that." Elaine questioned.

"You don't have a choice, Elaine. If you don't learn how to control it, things will start happening, and you'll wish you learned how to." Rebekah spoke. "You know nothing of your power Elaine. I can feel it radiating off of you. You may yet be the most powerful witch of the Smith bloodline."

Elaine looked at the woman for a moment, deciding what it was that she was going to do. She wanted nothing to do with the woman in front of her, but if what she was saying was true, then there was something she needed to do about it. She sighed, "Fine. Give me the notes. I'll look over them. Practice. Whatever. Justโ€•๏ธŽ" Elaine was cut off by her phone ringing. She glanced towards the woman before pulling her phone from her pocket to see it was Scott.

"Scott?" The girl questioned.

"You said you wanted to know about everything that went on right?" Scott questioned. "Well, Stiles and I are almost there. Be ready."

"Uh, yeah, aright." The girl nodded before hanging up the phone. She turned back towards Rebekah before saying, "I want the notes. Then I want you gone." The woman nodded before a car could be heard outside.

"If you so much as touch something that shouldn't be touched, I'll kill you." Elaine hissed. "And you better be gone by the time I get back." The woman nodded her head before watching as Elaine grabbed her house keys and ran out of the home. She quickly ran towards the car, hoping in the backseat of Stiles' jeep, looking between the two boys.

"Alright, what the hell are we doing now?"
