CHAPTER FORTY-ONE:
RESTRAINING ORDER

ELAINE, STILES, AND SCOTT ARRIVED at the Sheriff's Station. They stood at the door and Stiles turned towards the deputy that was sitting at the front desk, pointing towards the door before saying, "Could you buzz us in? I gotta see my dad." The man did as he was asked and the three entered, stopping in the doorway of the Sheriff's office to see Jackson sitting there with his father standing beside him.

"Scott, Stiles, Elaine . . . Perfect timing. Have you met Jackson's father, Mr. David Whittemore, Esquire?" Noah Stilinski pointed to Jackson's father. Jackson leaned forward to look at the trio, a smirk on his face.

"That means lawyer."

"We know what it means." Elaine told the boy, clenching her jaw as she crossed her arms over her chest. This just took a completely different turn than Elaine had anticipated.

โ”๏ธŽโ”๏ธŽโ”๏ธŽโ”๏ธŽโ”๏ธŽ

They stood in the office, Scott's phone placed on the table as he had Allison on speaker phone. The three were waiting to be called back in order to talk about the law suit that was now at their hands because of what they had done to Jackson. Elaine knew she should've stayed in bed.

"If Jackson doesn't know what he's doing, then he probably doesn't know someone's controlling him." Allison told the three.

"Or he doesn't remember." Scott added on.

"What if it's the same kind of thing that happened with Lydia when she took off from the hospital?" Stiles suggested and Elaine nodded her head.

"A fugue state." Elaine spoke.

"He'd have to forget everything. The murder. . ."

"Getting rid of the blood." Allison agreed.

"Yeah, he had help with one thing, thoughโ€•๏ธŽthe video. And someone else helped him forget that." Stiles pointed out to them.

"Whoever's controlling him." Scott nodded.

"Are you sure Jackson has no clue about any of this?" Allison questioned.

"He thinks he's still becoming a Werewolf and that being with Lydia somehow delayed the whole thing." Elaine informed, rolling her eyes at her own words.

"So, do we try and convince him he's not?"

Scott shrugged his shoulders. " If it helps us find out who's controlling him, then yeah."

"Do you think he'll talk to us after what we did?"

"Yeah, it's us! He'll talk to us, right?" Stiles looked between the two and Elaine just sighed shaking her head. That's when they had to hang up and go into another room in which the three sat at the table with Stiles' father reading off the restrictions that they had against Jackson and what they could and could not do. Melissa stood there behind her children, disappointment and anger on her face and Jackson's father stood there looking at the three.

"You will not go within fifty feet of Jackson Whittemore. You will not speak to him. You will not approach him. You will not assault him or harass him physically or psychologically." Noah Stilinski read off the chart that was in his hands before placing the chart down to look at them.

"What about school?" Stiles asked.

"You can attend classes while attempting to maintain a fifty-foot distance." Sheriff Stilinski answered his son.

"Butโ€•๏ธŽokay, what if we both have to use the bathroom at the same time, and there's only two stalls available, and they're only right next to each other. . . ?" Elaine placed her head in her hands whilst Stiles received looks from the adults in the room. "I'll just hold it." Once they were let out, Scott and Elaine passed Stiles who was talking with his father.

"Move." Melissa sternly told them. They did as she asked, moving out into the hallway before turning to look at her. "It's not just this, although, a restraining order is a new low that I didn't think that you two would reach quite this soon. It's everything on top of itโ€•๏ธŽthe completely bizarre behavior, the late nights coming home, having to beg Mr. Harris for you to make up that chemistry test you missed." The last one was pointed towards Scott.

"I missed a chemistry test?" Scott questioned.

"Really, Scott, really?" Melissa asked. She then turned to look at Elaine. "You have never done this beforeโ€•๏ธŽminis that rebellion stage when you were thirteen. I expect more from you Elaine, I really do. Your brother I expect this from, because he's your brother, but not you."

"I know." Elaine mumbled. "I'm sorry."

"I have to ground you both. I am grounding you. You are both grounded." She sternly told them, pointing towards the two.

"What about work?" Scott questioned and Elaine glanced at him before looking towards her mother.

"Fine. Other than work. And no TV."

"I don't really watch TV anyways." Elaine shrugged.

"My TV's broken." Scott answered.

"Then no computer." Melissa shot.

"Mom, we need the computers for school." Scott told her.

"Then no, uh. . ." The woman paused before looking between the two of them. "No Stiles."

"What? No Stiles?" Stiles spoke up but Melissa quickly held up her hand.

"No Stiles!" She yelled, making Stiles quickly step away. "And no more car privileges. Give me your keys. Give them to me!" Scott quickly did as he was told, Elaine copying his actions. She didn't like it when her mother was angry. It was scary. Melissa grabbed the two sets of keys, trying to get the car key off of Scott's hook, muttering to herself.

"Mom, you want me toโ€•๏ธŽ"

"No." She cut Scott off.

"Mom, come on, let me justโ€•๏ธŽ" Getting frustrated by the second, Scott was quick to place his hands on top of Melissa's, making the woman close her eyes as she sighed. She looked between them.

"What is going on with you two?" Melissa asked before looking directly at Scott. "Is this about Allison?"

"Do you really wanna know?" Scott asked, exchanging a look with Elaine, something that didn't go unnoticed by Melissa. He glanced towards Stiles who was quickly shaking his head no.

"Yeah. Is this about your father?" Melissa quickly asked. Elaine bit the inside of her cheek whilst Scott looked at Melissa, Stiles just silently nodding his head. "It is, isn't it? Okay, you know what, um. . . We'll talk about this at home. I'm gonna go get the car." Melissa walked away leaving the two standing there. Stiles walked up to them.

"We are officially the worst son and daughter ever." Elaine breathed, making Scott nod his head.

"Well, I'm not exactly winning any prizes, either. . ." Stiles told the duo.

"I hate you guys." Elaine spoke, her voice nothing but serious. She sounded so hurt. She didn't like upsetting her mother. She looked between them, frustrated tears in her eyes. She shook her head. "I hate you both so much." With that she turned on her heel, walking away, making Scott and Stiles exchange regretful looks with one another.

โ”๏ธŽโ”๏ธŽโ”๏ธŽโ”๏ธŽโ”๏ธŽ

"You still upset with them?" Allison asked as the two entered the library.

"I haven't spoken to either of them since last night, so yeah. I can't believe I was stupid enough to help them." Elaine ran a hand through her hair. "I've never seen my mom so upset with me." Allison offered her a reassuring smile before walking into the isle that Stiles and Scott were standing on the other side of.

"It's everything Lydia can translate. And trust me, she was very confused." Allison told them, sliding the tablet between the shelves and giving it to Scott.

"Yeah, what'd you tell her?" Scott questioned.

"That we were part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures." Allison answered.

"I am part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures." Stiles told her. Elaine rolled her eyes at this, forcing herself to hide her amused smile.

"O-oh." Allison stuttered, surprised. "Great."

"Okay, does it say how to find out who's controlling him?" Scott asked.

"Not really, but Stiles was right about the murderers." Allison told him.

"Yes!" The boy smiled in triumph, earning a glare from the witch.

Allison continued. "It calls the Kanima a 'weapon of vengeance.' There's a story in there about this South American priest who uses the Kanima to execute murderers in his villageโ€•๏ธŽ"

"All right, see? So, maybe it's not all that bad. . ." Stiles interjected, trying to be optimistic.

"Until the bond grew strong enough that it killed whoever he wanted it to." Allison finished.

"All bad. All very, very bad." Stiles said with a nod.

"Here's the thing, though. The Kanima's actually supposed to be a Werewolf, but it can't beโ€•๏ธŽ" Allison stopped talking when a teacher came by, placing a book on the shelf.

"'Until it resolves that in its past which manifested it.'" Scott read off, finishing what Allison was about to say.

"Okay, if that means that Jackson could use a few thousand hours of therapy, I could've told you that myself." Stiles told the three.

"What if. . . it has something to do with his parents? His real parents?" Allison tried.

"Yeah, does anybody actually know what happened to them?" Scott asked.

"Lydia might." Elaine told them.

"What if she doesn't know anything?" Scott questioned.

"Well, he doesn't have a restraining order against me, so I'll talk to him myself." Allison told them.

"Okay, what do I do?" Scott asked.

"You have a make-up exam, remember?" Allison pointed out. "Promise meโ€•๏ธŽ" Allison grabbed his hand, but Scott quickly interjected.

"If he does anything, you run the other way."

"I can protect myself." Allison quickly interrupted the boy.

"Allison, if you get hurt while I'm busy with some stupid test, someone's going to need to take care of me. If he does anythingโ€•๏ธŽ"

"Like?" Allison questioned.

"Anything weird, or bizarreโ€•๏ธŽanything."

"Anything evil." Stiles added, placing his face between the books making the two girls give him a blank look before Elaine quickly placed her hand on his face and pushed him out from between the book shelves. "Ow!" The boy hissed. Elaine sent him a sarcastic smile, making the boy glare at her before they all went their separate ways.

Elaine walked with Stiles as they tried to find Lydia, the boy constantly glancing at her in hopes of catching her attention, but she was insistent on not looking at him. He sighed before he spotted Lydia and they quickly went up to her, asking her about Jackson's parents.

"I'm not supposed to tell anyone." Lydia told them.

"Come on! Anyone who ever says, 'I'm not supposed to tell anyone' is always dying to tell someone, so tell us!" Stiles told the redhead.

"Why do you two wanna know?" Lydia asked, narrowing her eyes slightly.

"We can't tell you that." Elaine answered.

"Then I'm not telling you." Lydia shrugged her shoulders.

"But, you are telling us that you could tell us something if you wanted to tell us?" Stiles questioned making Elaine cock the eyebrow at the boy.

"Was that a question?" Lydia asked.

"It felt like a question. . ." Stile mumbled.

"Well, tell me if this feels like an answerโ€•๏ธŽ no." Lydia spoke before walking away.

"Lydia!" Elaine called after her. "Come on, Lyds!"

"Lydia, wait!" Stiles spoke, however the two were quickly grabbed by Erica, both slammed into a wall.

"Hey, Erica. . ." Stiles trailed off.

"Why are you two asking Lydia about Jackson's real parents?" Erica questioned them, placing her hand on both of their chests with her claws protruding from her hands. If there wasn't a camera staring right at her, she would've glowed her eyes at the female.

"Why are you bringing out the claws on camera?" Elaine snarled. Erica turned her head, glancing towards the camera before making her claws disappear. Stiles smirked.

"That's rightโ€•๏ธŽyou wanna play Catwoman? I'll be your Batman." Stiles told her making Elaine roll her eyes before the two quickly walked around Erica in order to go find Lydia.

"If you're wondering about Jackson's real parents, they're about a half a mile from here... In Beacon Hills Cemetery." This made the two exchange looks before they turned to look at the blonde. Erica walked away and they followed after her.

"Do you know how they died?" Elaine questioned when they caught up to her.

"Maybe. . .If you tell me why you're so interested." Erica shot back making Elaine narrow her eyes dangerously at the wolf.

"Uh. . ." Stiles started.

"It's him, isn't it?" Erica questioned, smirking.

Stiles furrowed his eyebrows. "What? Who? Him who?"

"The test didn't work, but it's still him. It's Jackson." The two stopped, turning to look at one another before looking after Erica and quickly running after her.

"You can't tell Derek, okay? There's a lot more that you don't know about. . . And just because you got the Alpha-Bite-Makeover doesn't give you a license to go around destroying people." Stiles told the female. Erica stopped, turning to face the two, though her attention was focused sorely on Stiles.

"Why not? That's all anybody ever used to do to me." Erica spoke. "I used to have the worst crush in the world on you. Yeah, you, Stiles. And you never once even noticed me. Exactly how you're not noticing me right now." Her gaze shifted to Elaine for a split second, though the girl hadn't noticed for her attention had quickly been changed to the water coming from the boys locker room, Stiles noticing it as well. That's when Scott and Jackson came flying out of the boys locker room with Jackson on top of Scott.

"Scott!" Elaine yelled her brothers name, running up to them with Stiles quickly following her. The two pulled Scott out from under Jackson whilst Erica grabbed onto Jackson, keeping the two boys from attacking one another again. Allison looked at them, coming out of the boys locker room.

"What the hell is going on here?" Mr. Harris spoke, coming closer to them before noticing what was happening. "Hey, enough! Enough! What do you idiots think you're doing? Jackson, calm down! Mr. McCall, you wanna explain yourself? Stilinski?"

"You dropped this." Matt spoke, handing Allison her tablet back.

"You, and youโ€•๏ธŽactually, all of youโ€•๏ธŽ detention. Three o'clock." Mr. Harris spoke before quickly turning on his heel and walking away.
