CHAPTER EIGHTEEN ━━ said the spider to the fly

A red head sat upon Brett Talbot's lap, the two kissing one another. Ophelia tugged on the beta's dark locks, earning a moan from the wolf's throat. The red head giggled kissing down his jawline to the boy's neck, bitting down softly, Brett gripped her waist tightly. Pulling away to admire her work she pouted seeing the mark disappear.

"I hate that." She mumbled tracing her fingers along the boy's neck.

"Mm, I know." He chuckled kissing her sweetly once more. Ophelia smiled and kissed the boy's nose, the teen smiled softly, gazing into her doe eyes.

"What?" She asked, wondering why he was looking at her the way he was.

"Hmm?" He hummed.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked smiling, pink tinting her cheeks.

Brett gnawed on his lip, "I- You're beautiful."

Ophelia rolled her eyes, "You're so weird, Talbot."

"It's true. You're perfect, your eyes-" Brett trailed his finger gently beneath her eyes. "nose,-" He bopped her nose, receiving a giggle from the red head. "Your lips." He traced the outline of her plump lips.

Ophelia flushed at the boy's comments shoving her face into his exposed chest, "I'm not."

"To me you are." The wolf remarked. "You always will be." He smiled twirling her thick red curls between his slender fingers.

Ophelia sighed in content, breathing in the boy's scent. Listening to his calm heart beat, a rhythm she had come to love, a sound reassuring her that she wasn't alone. Not anymore.

Hearing her phone ring on Brett's night stand she groaned in annoyance. Brett chuckled kissing the crown of her head reaching for the device he read the text.

"It's from Lydia." He furrowed his brows.

Ophelia looked up reading the text, she scrunched up her nose. "Ugh." She groaned. "Why can't we just have a normal month for once. I mean we did during the summer."

"We went to New Orleans, and stayed with your family. As well as we did other things." He kissed her shoulder, receiving a smile from the red head. "Not that I'm complaining of course." He smirked.

"Still, I'm off to France with Malia, and you're going into senior year." She frowned.

Brett hummed nodding, "Don't speak to any french guys."

"Mm, maybe Issac." She teased. "He did have a crush on me."

Brett pinched the red head's sides, and began tickling her, receiving squeals and pleas from the tribrid. "Take it back." He demanded.

"No-" She giggled, "Fine, fine." She looked up smiling up at the boy. "No french boys. Maybe Italian." Brett gaped at the red head tickling her again. "Kidding!" Leaning up she pressed her lips against his soft ones. "Just you." She murmured. "Together and always." She whispered, gazing into his blue irises.

Brett smiled softly, "Always." He affirmed.

▂▂▂▂

"IT'S a wolf." Malia and Ophelia said in unison. The latter scrolling through the coyote's laptop for the timing of their flight.

"They said wolves. Like you guys." Lydia retorted eyeing the two girls.

"Not interested." Malia flipped over on her back reading her french to english translation book she had picked up.

"Liam was asking for help from a werecoyote, and tribrid. Not the banshee." Lydia tilted her head to the two.

"Liam only wants Lia there so he can watch her float feathers." Malia rolled her eyes.

Ophelia flicked her other best friend across her forehead. "I can do more then float feathers." She argued.

"Whatever." Malia shrugged.

"You both deal with mysterious animals. So they need you both." Said the banshee.

"I'm done with mysterious animal situations. I want mysterious men. French ones." Malia eyed the banshee.

"O-" Lydia began, Ophelia shook her head.

"And since Theo left Ophelia because he couldn't man up and tell her he's in love with her-" Malia began.

"He's not in love with me-" Ophelia muttered, ignoring the ache she felt in her chest. Lydia glared to a rambling Malia.

"Ophelia needs a fresh start. And she's with Brett now who also needs to man up and admit he's in love with her. So that automatically means she's my wing girl." Malia remarked looking up at the banshee.

Lydia glanced to the laptop that Ophelia was struggling with, "Your guys' flight is delayed."

"No it's rerouting. There's a difference." Ophelia spoke up, vigoursly clicking the refresh button for the red bar to disappear.

"Delayed is what happens when your flight is rerouted. So you both have plenty of time to help." Lydia remarked to her best friends. The computer beeped once more, "And there's a storm system shutting down Charles de Gaulle Airport."

"It's a minor shower." Malia shrugged it off.

Lydia looked over to the red head. Ophelia rolled her eyes and shut the laptop. "Liam's got everything covered. And Brett and Lori are right across town if they need back up. Which they wont seeing as it's only a wolf." Ophelia shrugged.

"Exactly, whatever it was isn't supernatural. Just dead wolves." Malia nodded with a smile.

▂▂▂▂

"YOU'VE got two minutes." Malia said to the two teen boys.

"What do you guys think happened?" Liam asked the two girls.

Malia crouched down eyeing the dead mice. Liam glanced to the Original, "How are you with Brett?" He asked.

"How is she not? He's gorgeous." Mason remarked in awe. "They both are. God, imagine their kids. Perfect jawlines, perfect hair-"

"You have a boyfriend." Liam pointed to his best friend then looked to the red head. "If he hurts you, I'll kill him."

Ophelia chuckled, "Thank you, but I already got the lecture from Stiles and Scott as well as my brothers. I appreciate it though, and he is gorgeous." The Original looked from Liam to Mason. "Anything?" She looked down to Malia.

"Looks like they freaked out, crawled all over each other, got their tails knotted up." Malia explained raising a dead rat to the trio. "Tore each other apart trying to break free."

"You read up on rat king?" Mason asked the coyote.

"What's a rat king?" Malia asked the boy in confusion standing to her feet. She lifted the rat to her nose sniffing it, Ophelia furrowed her brows at the scent. Malia shoved the rat in front of Liam's face who shrieked backing up.

"Oh! I'm good. Thank you." He shook his head frantically.

Mason backed up behind the Original, "Yep. I'm, I'm good, just over here."

"Can you smell it? It's fear." Malia asked the beta. Holding the rat out to him, Liam scrunched up his nose bringing his hand up and moving Malia's arm down.

"Yeah, it's the same as the ones in the math classroom." Liam eyed the bloodied mice.

"Why were there rats in a classroom?" Ophelia asked in confusion. "I swear this town is weirder then Mystic Falls." She murmured.

"Uh, they ran in during second period, uh, about 50 of them." Liam answered the tribrid.

Malia glanced to her best friend who nodded, "Your two minutes are up." The duo walked away.

"Where are you guys going?" Liam asked frantically unsure on what to do.

"Paris. This isn't our problem." Malia answered, grabbing her best friend's wrist who waved to the boys with a smile.

"So you think this is a problem?" Liam asked, watching the two girls walk down the tunnel.

"Maybe. Probably. But you've got it covered, and we've got a plane to catch." Malia shouted back.

"I thought it was delayed?" Mason asked with furrowed brows.

"Rerouted. There's a difference." Ophelia piped up.

▂▂▂▂

OPHELIA eyed the laptop behind Malia who cried silently. The tribrid frowned seeing the bold lettering of Rerouted on the screen. Ophelia watched as Malia refreshed the screen once more. The two widened their eyes seeing the flight is back on.

"OUI, OUI!" Malia shouted in happiness.

The two girls grabbed their bags in excitement, walking to the door only to come to a stop seeing Lydia and Scott. "No, no, no. It's a wolf. And a rat infestation that's all." Ophelia shook her head crossing her arms against her chest.

"We need you both." Lydia remarked.

"And we need Paris." Ophelia remarked.

"You've been to Paris how many times?" Lydia asked the red head.

"So not the point." Ophelia retorted with an eye roll.

"And not to mention Paris has been around for like 2,000 years. It's not going anywhere." Lydia shook her head to her two best friends.

Malia looked to Ophelia who nodded, the coyote turned around walking over to her bedroom window and unlocking it for the two to leave.

"Malia, Ophelia." Scott said out loud in amusement.

"Liam and Mason called." Lydia voiced up.

"Yeah. They've got it covered." Malia said opening her window.

"We can't make you guys stay and I don't wanna try. But we were hoping maybe you would want to." Scott explained.

Ophelia frowned, looking to the two at the door who gave her puppy like eyes. Malia turned and eyed the red head's face seeing she was going to give in. "Do not give her that face. You know how delicate she is when it comes to the puppy dog looks." Malia glared at the two, shaking her head.

Scott sighed softly and nodded, "Okay." He moved to the side, allowing the two to exit through the door.

Ophelia frowned and looked to the coyote who shook her head sternly. Receiving a pout from the red head. Malia grabbed her hand and began to walk to the door only for Lydia to block the door way. Scott grabbed Lydia by the arm pulling her to the side allowing the two to exit the room.

The red head looked to Malia who groaned in annoyance. She stomped back into the room throwing her bag into Scott's chest. Startling the two teens. "What are we supposed to do?" Malia asked.

"Find a hellhound."

▂▂▂▂

"WE opened a door to another world, literally." Lydia said out loud.

"Well, obviously." Ophelia poked her head to the front from the back of the jeep.

"And something came out with us. Now we need the Hellhound to stop it." Lydia explained.

"So we put it back. We've put things back before." Malia shrugged nonchalantly. Scott glanced to Lydia who glanced to Ophelia, "Why do I have a feeling you guys know more about this then I do." Malia raised a brow to the trio.

"Might not be that simple." Scott explained.

"Because it isn't. I destroyed the ascendant." Ophelia sat back with a irritated huff. "We saved Stiles, we brought everyone back, but that wasn't supposed to happen. It's a prison world. The witches made it so what was there, had to stay put." Ophelia explained.

"So screw the witches, you're more powerful then them. They're dead anyways." Malia shrugged.

"It's not that simple. They're angry, I can't ask them for help after what Kai, Bonnie and I did. Especially since we used a member of the Gemini coven. They're already messing with me." She said, referring to her on going nightmares she had been having since the ordeal with the Ghost Riders. "There's always balance. And we messed with the balance again." Ophelia further explained.

"We learned that from the Nemeton." Scott voiced up nodding to the Original, nearing the high school.

"What kind of price? A big price? Did you have a vision?" Malia questioned the trio then to the red head.

"Big." The banshee and tribrid said in unison.

The four arrived to the school, exiting the blue jeep they hurriedly walked to the school.

"Okay. We should move pretty quickly." Scott voiced up.

"Do we even know what we let out?" Malia asked the three in confusion.

"This Hellhound might be the only one who does." Scott answered.

The three looked to their left hearing agonizing growling in the distance. The four took off after the sound, running through the forrest only to hear a scream as well. Then a gun shot.

The four came to a stop looking down at the dead Hellhound.

"I thought you couldn't kill a Hellhound." Lydia asked.

"Thought you couldn't kill an Original." Malia retorted.

Ophelia furrowed her brows walking next to Scott. The Alpha knelt down picking up a bullet that laid on the floor. Ophelia furrowed her brows at the fleur de lis that was engraved into the silver object.

"Argent." Scott breathed out.

"Then it's true." Lydia nodded.

"What's true? What else did you hear?" Malia asked worriedly.

"The sound of people who've never lifted a hand against another human being." Lydia explained. She glanced to Ophelia who glared at the dead body.

"Hunters." She muttered recalling her dreams. The trio looked to the tribrid. "Hundreds." Flashes of her visions appeared before her eyes, Ayana's words echoed through the red head's mind. It's happening, she thought to herself.

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞

"Something was killing them?" Scott asked the two.

"They were killing each other." Lydia answered.

Ophelia swallowed thickly. She had hoped this vision in particular wouldn't come true, but she knew better. She knew better then to bet against it.

Her visions were warnings, and she was going to stop them. Like the Ghost Riders, she'd do the same with the hunters. Even if the price was big. As big as an Original tribrid's life.

▂▂▂▂

"YOU sure we should involve him?" Ophelia asked the Alpha with a frown. Scott gnawed on his lip shaking his head.

"If this turns out to be something big, and we don't call him-" Malia began.

"He would kill us." Scott finished.

"Or maybe we should go back to the woods tonight and find the killer and I'll snap their neck." Ophelia proposed, maybe that would it end it all, she thought. The trio looked to the tribrid with raised brows, "Kidding. Sort of."

"Scott?" Lydia asked.

"You guys didn't hear his voice. He sounded really excited to be there." Scott frowned.

"Uh, just play the voicemail." Malia piped up.

Scott nodded and pressed play.

"Hey, Scott. So, I'm here. I'm in Quantico, Virginia, at the FBI. I'm at the freaking FBI. It's real. I'm really here." The four smiled at the teen's excited voice. "Uh, I kind of told Lydia that I miss her and I can't wait to get home, but listen, Scott, whatever you're doing right now, just make sure you're still getting out of Beacon Hills. I mean, maybe you think you can't leave, you know. Like, the whole thing falls apart if you're not there. Which I get, but you have to. I know you're supposed to drive out tonight, so if you don't call me back, just promise me you're actually going. Just get in the jeep and go. Also, tell Lia, we're still team Stelia even if she's off with Malia in France."

Ophelia smiled softly. Oh how she wished everything would be okay. But she wasn't a dreamer, she stopped when her dreams began coming true, and not average naive dreams like becoming president, or a pop star.

But when she dreamt of her loved ones dying before her eyes then not remembering them to stop it in time. Only for centuries later for her to remember them all in one flash, all the grief rushing back to her.

This time she'd make sure nothing was to go wrong. Her plan would be as solid as a Stiles Stilinski plan, full proof and lethal like a Klaus Mikaelson plot.

After all she is a Mikaelson. And they live for their theatrics.
