CHAPTER THIRTEEN โ”โ” lost and found

OPHELIA Mikaelson furrowed her brows as she tossed and turned on her bed. Red eyes clouded her mind. Flashes of a door opening to a classroom, a drawer, a storage closet, the ascendant. It was like a highlight reel of the same things being replayed every night before she shut her eyes. With a gasp she jolted forwards, clutching her chest. She glanced over to her clock which read 12am. With a determined face, she threw her duvet off of her and hopped out of bed. Shoving her ankle boots on, she threw on a oversized Devenford Prep sweatshirt which belonged to a certain blue eyed wolf.

She hurriedly made her way down the hall towards one of her guest bedroom doors. Raising her hand to knock only to hear noises she never wanted to hear from her best friend ever in her life."Right there Bon!" Kai's muffled voiced echoed through the red head's ears.

Ophelia widened her eyes and sped down the stairs hurriedly into her car. "No way in hell." She muttered. She quickly dialled Liam's number, only to go straight to voicemail. "Seriously?" She sighed in annoyance. She quickly drove down the streets of Beacon Hills to the beta's home.

After a 15 minute drive. The red head came to an abrupt stop, outside of the Dunbar Residence. She sighed through her nose, turning off the ignition to her car, she exited the sleek black car and made her way to the front door and knocked hurriedly. No answer. She continued to knock harshly against the door. Receiving no answer the Original eyed the door knob, placing her hand on the knob she crushed it with her hand.

"Sorry, Li." She breathed out.

Ophelia ran to the beta's bedroom, only to reveal it was locked. Ophelia growled lowly placing her hand on the knob she chanted quietly, as the door unlocked and opened wide revealing the red head. With a smirk she entered the room seeing a snoring and shirtless Liam Dunbar. Hearing movement behind her she looked to her right seeing Theo curled up in the corner, shackled to the corner of the room looking up at the red head with confused puppy like eyes.

"O?" He whispered tiredly.

"Good, you're here to." She nodded. Quickly shutting the door, she walked over to Liam's bed and shook the beta awake "Liam?" She whispered, receiving a groan. "Liam." The tribrid said. "Liam?" She tried once more only for the beta to grab his second pillow and place it over his head.

Ophelia clicked her tongue and made her way into the beta's restroom. Theo watched with amused eyes, wondering why she was over so late; whilst admiring her attire. He furrowed his brows and sniffed the unknown scent that radiated off of her body. Furrowing his brows he eyed the men's sweatshirt with a glare. Hearing the faucet in the restroom Theo sat up straight. Ophelia walked back into the bedroom with a cup of cold water. She removed the pillow from the beta's grasp and tossed the water onto the back of the beta's neck.

A howl escaped the boy's throat. Ophelia stood with her arms crossed, with her head tilted to the side. Liam glared to Theo who sat with a smile in the corner still chained. The beta whipped his head around seeing Ophelia hovered above him with a innocent smile. "Morning sunshine."

"What the hell-" He began, only to have a sweatshirt tossed at his face.

"Get dressed, I found the ascendent." She smiled widely.

"How?" Liam asked in confusion, grabbing his sweater and throwing it over his head shoving his head and arms through.

"My vision or dream, after yanno seeing red eyes, the ascendant." She nodded firmly.

"You sure they weren't Scott's?" Liam mumbled looking to the red head. Not wanting to leave the comfort of his bed, to go looking for something she didn't know the exact location or if it was a real thing; she was going off of dreams. He thought to himself.

"I know Scott's eyes." She denied. "They weren't his." She muttered.

Liam groaned and threw his head back. Ophelia walked over to Theo and removed the chains from his wrists. "Wait, he isn't coming." Liam shook his head fixing his sweatshirt on his toned body, as he stood up shoving on his running shoes.

"Yes he is." Ophelia remarked. Theo looked from the Original to Liam with a smirk. "Because, if we get caught, or worse. We toss him over." She shrugged. Theo's smirk fell, as Liam's appeared on his pink lips. "Now, lets go." She nodded to the two opening the boy's window.

"Why aren't we taking the front door?" Theo asked in confusion.

"Because, we're already here. And Liam may need a new door." Ophelia remarked crouching down on the Dunbar residence's roof. Theo nodded and followed behind the red head.

Liam gaped at the red head, "What happened to my door?" He whispered to the Original. Ophelia and Theo turned and raised a brow to the beta. "I probably don't want to know." He muttered.

"Mhmm." Ophelia hummed jumping off the roof effortlessly. Theo watched in awe, receiving a glare and harsh nudge from Liam. The Chimera tripped over his feet and fell off the roof landing face first with a groan. Ophelia looked back to Theo who now laid on the floor in pain, grass staining his cheek, then to a smiling Liam. "I give that a 10." Ophelia nodded to the beta.

"I'm fine. Thanks." Theo muttered into the floor.

โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚

"ARE you sure it's here?" Liam asked the Original. Both boys looked to the Original with wary eyes. Then back to the dark high school in front of them.

Ophelia nodded robotically, "Yes."

๐ˆ๐ญ'๐ฌ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž.

Ophelia unlocked her driver's door and walked towards the school following the voices that repeated themselves in her head. Theo and Liam hurried out of the car, Liam grabbed Theo by the hood of his jacket and shoved him ahead of him making sure the Chimera didn't escape. Theo rolled his eyes and hurried behind the Original, confusion written on his angelic features.

"Is this a reoccurring thing for her now?" Theo glanced back to Liam who nodded. Theo followed behind the tribrid who looked to be in a trance. "I don't know if it's hot or creepy." He mumbled to himself. Liam smacked the back of the Chimera's head. Theo growled lowly rubbing the spot.

Ophelia continued down the hall, her boots clicking beneath her. She came to halt, the boys following her every movement with wary eyes. Ophelia turned her head to the staircase and slowly walked towards the first step she raised her foot, a flash of her vision appeared before her eyes; her walking up the stairs as the lights went out. Ophelia continued up the stairs.

๐ˆ๐ญ'๐ฌ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž.

The two boys looked to the Original who tilted her head to the side. Hearing a door creak to their left, they watched with wide eyes seeing the door open by itself. "Through there." She whispered.

"Um, I-I don't think-" Liam stammered. Only for Theo to grab the beta by his hood and drag him behind the Original.

The three halted in front of the physics classroom. Ophelia walked in first, she looked to the backroom seeing the classroom's supply closet. Shaking her head she walked over to the desk and kneeled down. She looked to the bottom left drawer and pulled on the handle only for it reveal that it was locked.

"Was it locked in your dream?" Theo whispered kneeling down by the Original.

"No." She shook her head. "They were empty, except for this one. It's here." She nodded looking into Theo's eyes. "I know it is." She whispered to herself.

"I believe you." He said softly to the Original reassuring her, he gazed into her doe eyes. And he did truly believe her. Which shocked her seeing as how every time she would mentioned her visions her friends would brush it off as dreams. Hearing someone believed her, made her feel less like she was losing her mind.

Ophelia swallowed thickly and avoided his intimidating eyes. She pulled on the handle harshly only for it to remain shut. Theo furrowed his brows and removed her hands gently and replaced them with his own. He clenched his jaw as he pulled with all his strength on the handle. He groaned seeing the drawer still closed.

"How about a little more werewolf stregneth." Liam sarcastically said to the Chimera.

"The thing is like magically shut. So shut up." Theo hissed to the beta who glared to him.

"Spelled shut." Ophelia whispered. The two boys looked to the tribrid with furrowed brows. Ophelia sighed, raising her hands to the drawer she began chanting quietly. Theo watched in awe. She chanted silently, until the trio heard a click from the door. Ophelia breathed out a laugh. Theo held his hand out to the handle and unlocked the drawer. Shoving his hand into the drawer he felt a metal object. He widened his eyes and pulled out the ascendant.

"Guys." Liam whispered, his eyes locked onto the windows of the classroom, chills erupted through the beta's body.

"Is this it?" He asked handing it over to the Original.

"Yeah." She breathed out, smiling. She traced her fingers around the edges of the metal object. Theo chuckled softly at the Original's excitement. "We just need the owner's blood. And we're good." She explained looking up to the Chimera.

"You did it." Theo smiled softly.

"Uh, guys." Liam repeated with wide eyes.

"Yeah." She nodded, looking into his ocean eyes that she had missed.

"Guys!" Liam whisper yelled to the two.

"What?!" The two shouted in unison to the blue eyed beta.

"What colour were the eyes in your dream again?" Liam whispered.

"Red, why?" She furrowed her brows, looking to Theo who shrugged.

"It definitely wasn't a dream." Liam pointed hesitantly to the windows of the classroom.

Ophelia parted her lips, the Chimera stood up followed by the tribrid. The three meeting glowing red eyes. "Run." She whispered. "Run!"

Ophelia held the ascendant in her hand as she shoved the two boys out the door in front of her she ran behind the two. Theo glanced back and grabbed her free hand in his not caring if she didn't want her hand in his or if she was mad at him. He wanted her out of the school away from the Alpha or whatever it was. The trio ran down the staircase and out of the doors coming to a halt seeing the creature by her car. His head tilted in a taunting manner.

Ophelia shoved the ascendant into her sweater pocket. Grasping both boys' hands in her's, "Invisique." She whispered, the trio disappeared from the Alpha's sight.

She sped the two boys over to her house. The three ran inside the mansion, Ophelia raised her hand and shut the doors spelling them shut. The three heaved looking to one another, Ophelia pulled out the ascendant and smiled to the two boys. Her smile dropped as she spotting Malachai parker in only a towel hung just below his waist. Ophelia placed her hand over Liam's eyes, as Theo placed his over her eyes shielding the Original's sight as well.

"Kai." Bonnie sang, coming to a halt seeing the three at the door way. "Uh, hey, Lia." Bonnie awkwardly pulled the bedsheet closer to her smaller frame.

Kai walked over to the brunette and eyed the three wolves. "Welcome home!" He smiled widely, glancing down to his now empty blood bag. "I'd offer you some but I'm done." He raised the bag up. "And shouldn't you be in bed missy?" He asked the red head.

"Kai." Ophelia warned, even though her eyes were covered by the Chimera's hand he knew she was glaring at the heretic.

"We'll be going to bed now." Kai nodded, grabbing his girlfriend's hand, the two made their way into the bedroom. "GOODNIGHT, LOVE YOU!" He shouted to his best friend.

The three sighed looking to one another. "There are other guest rooms. Make yourselves at home. It won't find us here." She explained to the two boys. Liam nodded and hurriedly ran up the stairs to choose a bigger bedroom before Theo could.

Ophelia glanced to Theo who stood quietly his hands shoved in the front of his jeans pockets. She wanted to ask if the Chimera was okay, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She was still mad for what he had done to the pack. But a part of her couldn't help but wonder what happened to him. He seemed off, he lacked his usual confidence. If anything he radiated fear and nervousness. Something that was new to the tribrid seeing him that way. And for some reason it bothered her, she didn't want it to but it did.

"Uh, I'm gonna go put this away." Ophelia cleared her throat and nodded to the Chimera, pressing her lips into a line. "We have a big day ahead of us, with catching a Ghost Rider."

Theo nodded, "Yeah." He said softly watching her make her way to her library to put the ascendant away in a safe place. "Goodnight, an-Ophelia." He corrected himself, not wanting to make matters more uncomfortable for the Original.

"Goodnight, Theo." She smiled softly to the Chimera.

โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚

OPHELIA stood in the shadows, Theo stood across from her. The two had been civil with one another since yesterday night, with him helping her find the ascendant; whether it was because he didn't want to get taken, or sent back to hell, she was thankful he came as well as Liam. Earlier in the morning he had left, not wanting to disturb her, or face the couple who slept down the hall from him. He didn't want to bother her and he had all his clothes and belongings in his truck anyways.

Theo looked over to the Original with worried eyes. Ophelia ignored his burning gaze, not wanting to get distracted from the task at hand. She inhaled sharply hoping her magic wouldn't go haywire, especially with all the electrical currents swarming the small cabin.

Hearing ragged breathing and heavy foots steps Hayden ran into the room darting to the side of the room. "OPHELIA NOW!" Hayden shouted.

The red head stood out from behind the wall raising her hand towards the Ghost Rider who stood at least 5 heads taller than her. "Hears hoping you're a friendly ghost." She muttered with wide eyes. "Motus!" She shouted over the crackling thunder.

The Ghost Rider's body flew backwards into the cage. As Liam shut his side of the gate locking into place. Scott struggled with his end as the Rider approached the Alpha. "Scott get down!" Ophelia shouted, the Alpha did as told and crouched to the floor. Ophelia raised her hand giving the rider an aneurysm. He fell to his knees clutching his head. Scott stood up as Theo sprinted forwards helping the Alpha lock the cage doors. Mason hurriedly placed the Mountain Ash on the floor closing the circle.

"Go!" Scott demanded Hayden to leave with Corey and Mason. The trio did as told and ran out.

The Ghost Rider looked down for his gun only to see the gun in Scott's hand. The four glared at the rider. Ophelia glanced to her side feeling a hand brush her own. She furrowed her brows looking to her right seeing Theo beside her.

"It worked." Scott breathed out.

"We did it." Liam smiled in disbelief.

The five watched the rider raise his hands above him, "What the hell is he doing?" Ophelia whispered with wide eyes.

"I don't know." Theo mumbled. The five watched as the electricity was being drained by the Ghost Rider. "Now what do we do?" Theo asked the three.

"Try and talk to him." Scott suggested.

"Mr. Ghost Rider?" Liam's soft voice echoed through their ears. The three scrunched up their noses at Liam's choice of words. Liam cleared his throat, "Mr. Rider?" Scott tilted his head in amusement to Theo and Ophelia receiving shrugs from the duo. "We'll let you out if you tell us whose blood for the ascendant and how we use it, to get our friend back."

"And my family; that includes Brett and Lori. I'd be extra nice to me right now." Ophelia sarcastically smiled to the Rider walking forwards. Theo and Scott pulled her back gently.

"Everyone. We want everyone back." Scott corrected the two. Receiving silence again.

"This is the plan?" Theo asked in disbelief.

"I hate to agree with Theo." Ophelia muttered. "But, this ghoul isn't going to talk."

"There wasn't a plan for this part of the plan." Liam remarked.

"It's okay. Look, we got him trapped. He can't get out. We just have to figure out how to communicate with him." Scott explained to the three. "Maybe he can't hear us."

"Maybe he speaks an ancient language." Liam piped up.

"Maybe he only responds to pain." Theo gritted out. Ophelia found herself nodding in agreement with the Chimera.

"Fear?" Ophelia narrowed her eyes to the rider.

"Nothing's gonna scare this thing. Look at him. He's a walking corpse." Theo remarked to the Original.

"Something's wrong. He's not doing anything, he should be doing something." Ophelia whispered, she glanced to Theo who nodded in agreement. A howl escaped the Ghost Rider's throat.

"Did he just call for backup?" Theo worriedly asked.

"When Corey made the Ghost Rider visible at the party, another one showed up." Liam explained.

"We have to figure out how to talk to him. Or else get the hell out of here." Scott announced.

"I'm game for that plan." Ophelia whispered to the Alpha.

"Yeah, me too." Theo mumbled in agreement.

The four glanced to their right seeing Jordan walk in. The two eyed each other, almost as if they were speaking through their minds.

"That's progress." Theo nodded.

"Well, go on talk." Ophelia nodded to the cop, who stood still. "Ask him how we get everyone back."

"Tell us how to get everyone back." Parrish demanded the Ghost Rider, receiving a wail.

"Did he say something?" Scott asked with furrowed brows.

"He said, 'Hellhound." Parrish answered the Alpha eyeing the Rider warily.

"Is that a good thing?" Theo asked.

"Probably not." Ophelia whispered, eyeing the Ghost Rider. "Ask him what he wants."

"What do you want from us?" Parrish asked.

"Yeah, I think not." Ophelia muttered glaring to the rider.

"Tell us what you want." Parrish demanded.

๐–๐ž ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐–๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐‡๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ.

Theo rolled his eyes, "That clarifies things."

"Yeah, we heard you the first time. But what do you want from us?" Ophelia gritted out in irritation. "Do you even want something?"

The rider looked over to Scott who narrowed his eyes. "Why's he looking at Scott?" Liam asked worriedly.

The three looked over to Scott, "He figured out Scott's the Alpha." Theo explained to the two in realization.

"There must be something you want." Scott said to the Ghost Rider.

๐“๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐ข๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ก๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ.

"If they can't be bargained with, then we're gonna have to fight 'em." Scott looked over to the three. "I'm comin' for my friends. I'm comin' for everyone. I won't stop. I'll never stop until we get everyone back."

"Parrish what's happening?" Liam asked eyeing the two who looked to one another in trance.

"Scott." Theo said warily eyeing the two.

The four back up seeing Jordan turn into the Hellhound. The four watched as Parrish stepped through the Mountain Ash, burning it through. "What's he doing?" Liam asked with wide eyes.

"He's gonna set him free." Scott said worriedly.

The three ran over to pull the Hellhound back only for Parrish to growl and toss them back. Ophelia flew into the electrical fence releasing a howl in pain. Theo growled and grabbed the Hellhound by his shoulder only to pull back with a hiss looking down to his burnt hands. Parrish threw the Chimera down to the floor.

"Theo!" Ophelia shouted with wide eyes. She sped over and grabbed the Chimera by his shoulders. As Scott and Liam held the Hellhound back. Theo looked to the tribrid with wide eyes, his heart skipping a beat at her actions. Ophelia looked down seeing her hands on the Chimera's chest and pulled away quickly. She looked back seeing Liam and Scott shove Parrish out of the room.

Ophelia stood to her feet as Theo placed more Mountain Ash on the floor. The Original walked around the Chimera and eyed the Ghost Rider warily.

Ophelia sighed out, as a stake was shoved through her chest. Ophelia gasped quietly and looked down seeing the wood piercing her heart. "Theo?" She weakly said, blood seeped from her chest and lips.

Theo widened his eyes and looked to the tribrid who fell to her knees veins covered her body. She gasped and fell to the floor. Theo growled and looked up seeing Garrett Douglas eyeing the Rider. "You're really gonna wish you didn't do that." He hissed, Theo's fangs pierced the air, his eyes glowed ambient as he glared to the man. Garrett walked forwards towards the Rider, "Hauptmann?" Theo asked unsurely.

Garrett glared to the Chimera. Theo swallowed thickly, he grasped the Original and dragged her body away towards the door. Theo inhaled sharply, and threw her body out of the doorway out onto the grass away from the cabin. Silently apologizing to the red head. Whipping his body around he was met with Garrett's claws plunging into his abdomen.

"Break the barrier." He hissed shoving the Chimera towards the cage and the Mountain Ash. "Break the barrier, or I'll rip you in two." He growled, digging his claws deeper into Theo, who groaned. Theo looked out the door seeing Ophelia laying limp on the floor. Theo growled and dug his claws into Garrett, blood coating his hand. Theo stumbled backwards his feet hitting the barrier. Garrett grabbed the Chimera by his throat and threw him to the floor across from him.

Theo watched with wide eyes seeing the two eye one another. "It's been a long time." He said unlocking the door, he then grabbed his whip and tossed it at the Rider dragging him forwards. Growling he bit into the Rider's head. Theo crawled towards the entrance, where Ophelia laid outside. He watched silently as Douglas ate the Rider's brain. The Chimera shuddered and weakly crawled away. Garrett left the room, leaving a weak Theo Raeken and a dead Ghost Rider.

The pack walked inside from the back door seeing a wounded Theo clutching his stomach in pain. Hayden glared to the Chimera, grabbing him she threw him against the wall. "What did you do?" She shouted raising her clawed hand near the his face.

A hand grasped her wrist. Hayden looked over seeing doe eyes mirroring her own. "Don't." Ophelia clenched her jaw. Theo looked wide eyed at the Original. Hayden stepped back. "It was the bloody physics teacher." She growled tossing the wooden stake to the floor. The packed eyed the bloodied object.

"H-he ate his brain." Theo stuttered out in fear.

"Scott was right. I was wrong." Liam shook his head to Theo. "I'm sending you back."

"It wasn't his brain. Mr. Douglas ate his pineal gland." Scott furrowed his brows looking down at the blood that littered the floor.

"It couldn't have been Theo. These murders have been going on for weeks." Ophelia defended the Chimera shocking the five.

"She's right." Mason nodded to the pack.

"Guys. His whip's gone."

AN ๐Ÿฆ‹โœจ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

I was supposed to add the ascendant part earlier but I completely forgot to, so I figured I'd add it once they had to capture the Rider.
