"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?" Joe scolded Barry angrily, although Barry didn't really seem to care all that much. Evelyn sat on the edge of one of the many desks in the cortex of S. T. A. R. Labs. She watched silently as Barry informed everyone of his bold move to reach out to Leonard Snart for help. Of course, as both predicted breaking the news to their friends didn't go so well. "What do you mean you talk to Leonard Snart?"

"I asked him for help." Barry said nonchalantly like it wasn't a big deal to go to a well known A-list criminal for help with other criminals especially when these criminals had enhanced abilities.

"Barry, why would you do something so stupid?" Said Joe and Barry sighed in frustration.

"Because Joe, we have already tried everyone else. Look, you tried the CCPD. I tried Oliver. I even tried Ronnie and Dr. Stein." He explained himself to the man who had become another father to him. "And the particle accelerator goes online in...." he looked to Cisco for the answer.

"Sixteen hours." answered Cisco nervously.

"Sixteen hours, Joe." Barry repeated trying to get him to see that whether he liked it or not they needed all the help they could get. "I'm not willing to let the metas die, and we can't let them escape either. So, like it or not, Snart, with his cold gun is the only one that can stop them if Cisco's transportation does not hold."

Evelyn glanced down at her phone praying that Leonard had responded to her text. She sent him one hours ago trying to convince him to help Barry just this once. She frowned as she stared at the blank home-screen. "Then lucky for you I figured out what it is you can get me." His snarky tone filled her ears, and she looked up from her phone to find Leonard standing in the cortex. Evelyn grinned at the sight of him. She was happy that he decided to do what was right and help her friends. She knew he had it in him to be a good man. He could be a hero if he truly wanted to be one.

He eyed the building as he slowly headed further inside. He studied every detail carefully. Every chip and crack in the wall. Everything that might be of some use later. Others might find it odd or think he was scheming, but Evelyn knew that this was a habit that grew over the years of being a thief. Leonard cased a job at least three times before he robbed them clean. Now, whenever he entered an unfamiliar place, he studied every inch of it. She didn't know if he was aware of it, but she had gotten use to it.

"Hello, detective. Nice to see you again." Leonard said unfazed that Joe was aiming a gun at him.

He then went down the row for the rest of his greetings. "Cisco. Caitlin."

He froze when his sight landed on Evelyn. He then rolled his eyes when he saw her sitting there with a smug smile. "Evelyn, wipe that smug smile off your face."

"So, you decided to do the right thing after all? I wish I could say that I'm surprised." Evelyn teased lightly with a grin. She forced herself to ignore the weird and or shocked looks from her friends minus Barry. He simply looked vexed not with them of course, but with the situation he's trying to fix. But she could see the slight smirk he fought against. See, Barry would never admit to it, but he in a way approved of their somewhat complicated relationship.

After his first encounter with Snart, he took it upon himself to do some research. He looked up everything that concerned Leonard Snart. He found out the deeper story of his horrid relationship with his father. It didn't go too much into detail, but just enough for Barry to realize that he and Snart aren't so different. Barry, just like Evelyn, believed that Leonard is capable of being more than just a thief. He knew that deep down Snart doesn't have to be the 'villain'. Barry knew Leonard had it in him to be a hero, and he thinks that Evelyn might be what it took to show him that. Some may think it's impossible and argue that it was a waste of time; that he was incapable of changing. However, Barry knew that she could be the key to finally getting that leopard to change its spots.

Leonard didn't comment on her remark. He didn't want to give her the satisfaction of being right. Well, it was that, and the fact that she didn't know the whole truth of why he decided to help. He knew that she wouldn't be too happy with him when she does. He couldn't bring himself to entertain her idea of him being a good guy only to turn around and do what he does bestβ€”being the bad guy.

"I thought about your proposal." He told Barry. "You want my help, this is what I want. My fingerprints, dental records, DNA, criminal records, family tree, everything there is concerning Leonard Snart. I want it all destroyed. All of it. At CCPD, online, everywhere."

"The brass on this dude." Joe replied with a smirk. "You really think we'd do that for you?" Leonard looked from Joe to Barry. His expression read that he knew for a fact that Barry would do it, and he's soon proven right much to Joe's annoyance and slight disappointment.

"I'll do it. If it's the only way, fine." Answered Barry as he sat up straight. This earned a proud smirk from Leonard.

"You and me need to talk right now." Joe demanded Barry. He and Barry walked into an empty room. They didn't care to leave a criminal alone with Evelyn, Cisco and Caitlin. Joe just knew Snart wasn't stupid enough to try anything. Barry, on the other hand, simply knew that Snart wasn't going to hurt them. Besides, he would never hurt or put Evelyn at risk.

Evelyn wandered to the hallway outside the cortex. She sat on the floor with her back pressed against the wall and her knees to her chest. She played with her fingertips as she reflected on the past couple of months. She had an amazing career, friends who became the family she's always wanted, and the one person who her heart had ached for years ago was finally hers.

She remembered the exact day she realized she had developed something for Leonard, and she had to force herself to make those feelings disappear. At the time he was her boss, and was constantly with another woman every night. But she guessed that those feelings didn't necessarily disappear, they were just was dormant for a while. She finally had the life she's always wanted but thought she would never obtain. It was not perfect like those in the movies, but it was still just as special and it was all hers.

"You look happy..." Leonard said as he walked into the hallway. Evelyn looked up from her fingers. She hadn't notice him enter the room, but then again she was lost in her thoughts. "Thinking about me?" He teased with a smirk as he sat beside her.

Evelyn grinned as she shook her head. "You know, sometimes I aspire to have your level of confidence." She teased.

"I won't be too impressed if I were you. Sometimes the one's who appear so assured are easily the ones who don't have it all figured out. They just know how to put on a show." He told her, and she raised her brows. "You don't necessarily have to have confidence in yourself, you just have to be good at pretending. If you can sell it, others will see it."

"Are you telling me, that the Leonard Snart, doesn't have it all figured out. The man who's always ten steps ahead?" She said with a small smile.

"One can't always be too prepared for life. It's just not possible." He said with a nonchalant shrug. "Besides, you know my four rules for planning. Make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails..."

"Throw away the plan." She finished for him with a grin.

Leonard smiled to himself then shook his head. He still felt Evelyn's eyes on him. He turned his head towards her, and he felt as if his breath got caught in his throat. The way she stared at him with so much love and awe. It was strange to him. He never, not once in his whole life, had someone look at him the way she does. She looked at him like he was the one person she would trust with her life. It was a strangely beautiful thing yet intense and scary all at once.

"Well, you were always the best listener in the crew." He said, and she chuckled.

"I'm really happy that you decided to help." Evelyn told him, and he felt a pang of guilt hit him. If only she knew what he was planning, then she wouldn't be uttering those words.

"Don't get use to it." Leonard warned her, and she playfully rolled her eyes. "This is a fun experiment and all, but I always felt the bad guy persona is a better look on me." He added jokingly.

"Please." Evelyn scoffed. "The whole 'girls want a bad boy' thing is so overrated. I personally think the good guys deserve some love too. Besides, every girl loves a hero." Evelyn teased him with a smirk.

"Yeah, is that what drew you to Barry?" He shot back, and she parted her mouth in shock.

"Wait, are you jealous of Barry?" Evelyn asked him with a giggle, and she noticed the way he stiffened like he gave a secret away.

Leonard rolled his eyes then sighed. "I'm gonna be honest, the first time I saw you two together in front of that jewelry store; I was sitting in my car waiting for someone to bring me the money they owed me. But the way you two stood so close to one another, and when you held his hand..." a ghost of a smile appeared on his lips when he saw the grin on her face. She was pleased with herself that she managed to unintentionally make him jealous.

"Then at CCPD after I got arrested, because of Barry funnily enough...but I saw you two again together. It brought back that annoying feeling. But when I say you wearing that..." his hand reached out and gently grabbed the necklace that dangled from her neck. His hand brushed her skin as he did. "I knew that I didn't have to feel threatened."

Evelyn smiled softly. She was delighted he felt comfortable enough to admit to her his feelings. He always was so guarded and closed up, but lately he had been so willing to let her in. She leaned in slowly their faces inches away before he closed the space between them. She grabbed the side of his face as she deepened the kiss.

"Ahem.." Cisco coughed from the entryway of the cortex. Leonard pulled away with an annoyed expression. Evelyn looked to Cisco who was smiling at her teasingly. He had so many jokes he wanted to say right now. Evelyn thought he would've found all of this weird, but she didn't know that he of all people couldn't judge her. Cisco knew very well the attraction that came with a Snart, and he hated it. But now seeing them together, he didn't feel so guilt about it anymore.

"What's up Cisco?" Evelyn asked him.

"Barry wants Snart to meet him out back." Cisco told them.

"Great." Leonard said dryly. Cisco frowned a bit at his tone, but Leonard didn't notice since he hadn't stopped looking at Evelyn since he broke up their kiss.

Leonard rose to his feet then helped Evelyn get up. He laced their hands together before she lead him to the back entrance of S. T. A. R. Labs. Evelyn pushed opened the door, and Barry stood there in his famous suit. He had a box of files and other physical things concerning Leonard Snart beside his foot.

"I've deleted everything the CCPD, A. R. G. U. S., and the FBI had on you, and sent a virus to erase every digital record of you online." Barry informed him. "And this is every single piece of physical evidence the police had on you." Barry added as he gestured to the box on the pavement.

"Good." He replied as he finally made eye contact with Barry. Suddenly, a sound similar to the cold gun ran through Evelyn's ears and the box was covered in what looked like melted gold. Evelyn involuntarily squeezed Leonard's hand, but she soon relaxed when she realized who this mess belonged to.

"I hear we're all going to be working together." Lisa said seductively as she walked out of the shadows. Barry sighed to himself as he shook his head. He thought to himself that he should've known that this would happen.

"That's right sis." Leonard said then turned to Barry with an amused smirk. "Partners."

A/N:

Ugh I love Evelyn and Snart so much. Idk what their ship name is. Y'all can decide if you want.

But omg Evelyn is my little bean. She's needs to be protected at all costs. I've never loved a fictional character I've made this much πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ’œ
