"CENTRAL CITY'S NEW SAVIOR has done it again." The reporter spoke with excitement. The huge grin plastered on her face was hard to miss, even from Leonard's small tv screen. Evelyn stared wide eyed while the news showed endless amounts of pictures of a red blur speeding through Central City. However, she forced herself to glance down at the computer in front of her when she heard footsteps in the distance.
"Anything?" Snart asked as he came up beside her. He was now dressed in his usual attire, jeans, and a black T-shirt accompanied by his leather jacket.
Evelyn shook her head. "Not yet, but we're very close." She said while her fingers typed away. When Leonard never answered her, she peered up at him. His eyes were trained on the news broadcast of The Flash.
"Despite all the unexplainable threats that have been appearing these past nine months alone, the crime rate these past few months have been the lowest it's ever been in years. Seems like Central City's very own hero is backing these criminals into their corners. Looks like The Streak is our very own guardian angel, and he's making sure to remind everyone that he's here to stay. Although, thanks to an anonymous blog the hero has chosen a new name for himself: The Flash. And it already seems to be catching on." A smirk slowly turned up at the corners of Leonard's lips. Evelyn had to admit The Flash was way than The Streak.
"So, that's what he's going by nowadays?" Leonard said. He shook his head with an amused smile lingering then he shut off the television.
"Has a nice ring to it." Evelyn admitted with a small smile. She glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. Leonard only rolled his eyes at her comment on Barry's new alias.
"I'm sure you already knew all about it." Leonard said dryly.
"Actually no." Evelyn said in a matter-of-fact tone. She hadn't seen much of Barry, or anyone for that matter. She had been too busy trying to help Lisa with her family problem. The only time she had seen Barry or Joe was at work. She doesn't even know much about what Barry had been up to with his secret life at S.T.A.R. Labs. "I told you, I don't really know him."
"That's a lie, and we both know it." Leonard said while he looked through his phone.
"It is not." Evelyn told him a bit defensively. Snart looked up from his phone. His eyes bore into hers and it sent a small chill down her spine.
"If that was the truth, then how did you know where to find him that night? How did you know where the cold gun was built?" Leonard asked her clearly trying to prove a point. Evelyn's jaw locked when she didn't know how to respond to him. Leonard smirked at the fact that she was speechless. "Besides, no one would go through all that trouble for someone they didn't know. Let alone care about." He added, and Evelyn turned away from him.
"If I ask you something, would you answer me?" Leonard asked as he studied her with curious eyes.
"Depends on the question." She replied.
Snart rested his side on the table and turned himself sideways to face her. He leaned forward a bit. "Who is he, really?" He asked and Evelyn inhaled in a deep breath.
Thankfully, the computer came to her aid before he could get anything out of her. "It's done." She told him. Leonard earlier decided that he was done with his father's empty threats. He said the only way to get this to end was to make the first move. He was gonna take him off guard by going to him first. Unfortunately, Lewis had been flying under the radar lately. No one had seen him in months. Despite these annoying phone calls, letters, and emails from his goons, it was as if he was dead. So Evelyn decided to hack into his goons phones and emails in search of a common address.
Leonard chuckled from beside Evelyn. "Fine, dodge the question. It's only a matter of time before I find out for myself. I have my ways of getting information I want." Evelyn had to force herself to ignore his statement.
"Do we have an address?" He asked while Evelyn looked through all their information. His sight continuously shifted back forth between Evelyn and the screen of the laptop.
"Yes!" Evelyn hissed excitedly. Leonard handed her a piece of paper, and she gladly took it. She found the nearest pen and wrote down the address. "Here."
"Mick!" Leonard shouted as he took the slip of paper out of her grasp. He glanced down at the address for a second then folded it before he slipped it into the pocket of his leather jacket. He already had it committed to his memory, so the paper was pretty much useless to him now. He kept it just in case.
"Boss?" Mick said as he walked into the room.
"We're gonna pay my old man a little visit." Leonard said with a cold smile. Mick returned his smile, although his was scarily more menacing.
"I'm always down to party." Mick said happily. "Especially when I get to light it up." He added as he pulled out an odd looking gun.
"Wait!" Evelyn called out when they were both about to leave. They stopped and slowly turned around. Leonard's face was emotionless, while Mick carried an annoyed expression. "You're not seriously gonna just walk right in there without a plan are you?"
"I have a plan." Leonard said with a shrug.
"Really? And what exactly is your plan if I may ask?" Evelyn asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"You may not." Mick growled, and she sent him a glare.
"It's simple." Leonard said despite Mick's comment. "I'm gonna kill him."
"Leonard, you can't kill him." Evelyn told him baffled by his suppose plan. Sure, Lewis was a horrible man, but she knew Leonard could be better than his father. This tactic he had that was something his father would do. She knew damn well that Leonard and Lewis were two completely different people.
"And why not?"
"Because killing someone is wrong. No matter how much you may think they deserve it." She said, and Mick scoffed.
"I don't see what the big deal is. I've killed before, and you seem to never cared then." Leonard reminded her.
"That's because I've changed. You don't need to kill him. There are other ways to get him to stop." She replied, and he walked toward her. She tensed up at his close proximity. Their chest were practically touching, and she was having a hard time controlling her heartbeat. He leaned over her and dragged the laptop next to her. He took a few steps to the side, and she released a quiet breath.Β
Evelyn watched him carefully as he searched through the emails of his father's crew members. "What is it?" She asked him nervously when he made a face.
"There having a business deal tonight at The Garden." He told them with a grin.
"That fancy restaurant on the other side of the city? Why would he choose there of all places?" Evelyn asked him.
"It's what's under The Garden." Mick said with a grin. She wasn't even sure he was paying attention at first. I mean, why would she? He had been examining his gun in awe for a long while now.
"Change of plans." Leonard said suddenly gaining both of their attention.
"What do you mean?" Mick huffed.
"Dress nice." He told them both, although he looked at Evelyn when he spoke. "We're going to The Garden."
