EVELYN WATCHED FROM THE SIDELINES as Barry continuously dodged and defeated drones. Ever since Christmas, Barry has had an obsessionβ€”some would say it was an unhealthy one. He aimed to up his speed so he could stop the man in the yellow suit. She believed that Barry had every right to bring the man who killed his mother to justice, but that still didn't mean she wasn't worried about him. He was pushing himself a bit too much in her eyes.

"That was too close." Caitlin scolded Cisco when the drones came a bit too close to hitting Barry with it's bullets.

"I second that." Evelyn said in Caitlin's defense as she stood between the pair. Her hands were stuffed in the pockets of her black coat. Her cheeks were flushed due to the sudden change in temperature Central City received this week.

"He told me to make it hard." Cisco defended himself and his work to the women beside him.

"Pretty sure he didn't tell you to make him dead." Caitlin added sarcastically.

"Remember, this is just supposed to be a training exercise to improve Barry's speed." Wells told them with his usual smirk.

"Cisco, you gonna bring it or what?" Barry's voice echoed in everyone's ear piece. Cisco looked to Wells for approval.

With a big smile Wells replied, "Bring it."

Cisco's fingers swiped against the tablet in his hands. The drone transformed itself to an advanced model of its predecessor then released a missile of sorts. Evelyn gasped in shock as the missile missed Barry by a few inches and exploded instantly when it came in contact with the pavement. Barry tumbled to the floor due to the explosion barely dodging the flying debris. Barry winced in pain but pulled himself up from the ground. He eyes the upcoming drone with determination and slight anger.

"Why isn't he running away?" Caitlin asked as Barry remained where he stood. The drone continued to make it's way toward him. "Barry run away..." she whispered worryingly.

The drone released another missile, and instead of trying to avoid it Barry ran toward it. "Oh, my god..." Evelyn breathed as she grabbed on tightly to Cisco's forearm earning a wince in return from her new friend. Barry charged toward the missile and grabbed a hold of it. He suddenly threw it right back at the drone which left Evelyn stunned. The drone exploded in midair, it's pieces flying everywhere. "Not bad, Barry." Evelyn said to herself quite impressed.

"Very impressive, Mr. Allen." Wells rewarded his hard work. Barry sat beside Evelyn, no longer in his suit, eating his way through a huge pile of Big Belly Burger. "Your reaction to stimuli at super-speed continues to improve."

"It's still not enough." Barry sighed as he walked over to Wells with Cisco by his side.

Wells turned himself in his wheelchair to look up at Barry who now stood in front of him. "It will be." He assured Barry confidently not just in his beliefs, but in Barry and his abilities and his potential that only increased as the days went by. "You keep working like you are, stay focused like you are, and you will be ready the next time your man in the yellow suit comes around."

"I think you mean... the Reverse Flash..." Cisco said very proud in himself for coming up with Barry's main foe's alias. They all gave him a look while Evelyn giggled to herself. "What? He said it not me, and he's right. Yellow suit, red lighting, and evil. The reverse of Barry."

"Meh." Caitlin said with a shrug earning a look of disapproval from her best friend.

"Actually, I kind of like it." Wells replied. Evelyn studied him briefly, but still couldn't find anything that proves her theory. Her theory that Wells couldn't be trusted. Evelyn still stood by her gut feeling from the day she was really introduced to the doctor at S. T. A. R. Labs. There was just something off about him. The way he was so obsessed with Barry reaching his full potential. Barry wanted to push himself made sense in every way. It was a little nerve wrecking as a friend and outside observer, but it still made sense nonetheless. But Wells obsession, it didn't make sense, at least not to Evelyn.

"Alright, I'm still ready for another round." Barry said while he walked back out onto the field. "How many more drones do you have left?"

"Two, and they've got lasers." Cisco said excitedly.

"No." Evelyn, Caitlin, and Wells said in unison.

"Are you sure nothing's missing?" Joe asked the police officer.

"That's what the supervisor said. I can check again." The officer said.

"Hey! Sorry I'm late. I overslept." Evelyn told Barry as she ran up to him. Barry laughed to himself at the fact that the poor girl was out of breath.

"Yeah, I've heard that one before." Barry teased.

"Yeah, well, unlike you, it's the truth. And besides this is my second time being late this year. How many times have you been late this year alone?" Evelyn retorted with a smile.

"Ouch." Barry said with a laugh. "Okay, you win." Evelyn smirked.

"Wait a minute..." Evelyn said suddenly, and Barry gave her a confused look. She bent down to examine the debris that was scattered all over the floor. "Is this the door? But it's in pieces and..." Barry knelt down beside her while she picked up a shard in her gloved hand. "Barry, it's frozen..." they gave one another a knowing look.

"Bar. Eve." Joe called for them as he and Eddie headed their way.

"Well, the breakage indicates that the door somehow had zero viscoelasticity when it hit the ground." Barry said, and Joe looked at them like they grew another head.

"What does that mean to normal people?" Joe asked the two scientists.

"Right. Sorry. The steel shattered like glass." Evelyn summed up her partners words the best way she could so Joe and Eddie could understand.

"Which means... it was frozen Joe..." Barry told him slowly hopeful that he would be able to piece it all together faster.

"Snart." Joe said, and Barry nodded.

"He's back." Barry said. Well, he technically never left.

"I thought Snart was some world-class thief? All these expensive cars, and he didn't take any of them? Doesn't make sense." Eddie said.

"He has a point..." Evelyn told Joe softly. "This wasn't just a break in. He had ulterior motives."

"Eddie, put out an APB on Snart." Joe ordered, and Eddie complied and left the three of them alone.

"Snart wasn't here to steal anything." Barry said as he stood up.

"He was setting a trap." Said Joe.

"For me."

"Captain Cold is back?" Cisco said in disbelief as the gang entered the cortex.

"For a non-metahuman, Leonard Snart is proving to be quite the nemesis." Said Wells.

"He still has the cold gun. The one he stole from us. The one I built..." Cisco said and Evelyn put her hand on his shoulder in a form of comfort which meant a lot to him.

"What does he want this time?" Caitlin asked Barry.

"The Flash." Barry sighed. "If Snart wants a fight with the flash then I'll give him one."

"Whoa, Barry slow down." Evelyn told him. Snart may not be a meta and may not have any crazy powers, but it would be a mistake to underestimate him.

"Well..." Harrison trailed off.

"What? You don't think I should?" Barry asked them. He was slightly baffled that they had their doubts. Well, moreover, he was a bit shocked that Wells wasn't encouraging him. Evelyn doubting his decision made sense to Barry. She has a history with him, and although she would deny it, Barry knew she held strong feelings for the criminal. Barry would be lying if he didn't say that those feelings worried him immensely, but he was still afraid to bring his concerns to his best friend. He's afraid that she'll get angry, and keep him in the dark from all things that concern her past with Captain Cold.

"I didn't say that." Wells jumped to his own defense. "But Barry, as fast as you are, you can't be everywhere at once." Evelyn was pretty shocked to see that for once Wells wasn't agreeing with Barry's rash behavior. Usually Wells supported Barry decisions to jump straight into a situation without thinking it over.

"And it becomes a question of priorities." Wells added. "In the last month, you have made a commitment to increasing your speed, enhancing your reflexes, and it's working. Your finally getting faster." Evelyn rolled her eyes discretely. Her shock for the situation vanished with his words. It all made sense again. He's only against Barry's idea because it wouldn't benefit him. With Barry busy trying to stop Leonard while simultaneously entertaining Snart's wishes, he won't have time to train. The only thing Evelyn is still having a hard time understanding is in the end what does he get out of this?

"Okay, but what am I supposed to do just ignore Snart?" Barry asked them. He was not in anyway disagreeing with their concerns, but moreover he wanted their guidance.

"The last time you had a fight with Snart, a train derailed." Wells reminded Barry. Barry's eyes shut briefly at the memory. "You were lucky to get all those people to safety. And if you don't give him that fight..."

"He may just back off, and there'll be no casualties." Barry finished his statement.

"Look Barry, Cisco and I will work with Joe and the police, and devise a way to catch cold. Yes, I said it Cisco. As soon as it came out of my mouth I heard it." Wells said as he wheeled himself over toward where Barry stood.

"Yeah, we can definitely come up with a way to neutralize Snart." Cisco told Barry to help ease his mind.

"Listen, Barry, whether or not you go after Snart that's your choice. We here, we will do whatever we can to support you. But after this Christmas, after the events with the Reverse Flash, I think he poses a greater threat to all of us." He said, and Evelyn couldn't help but notice the way his eyes lit up. She noticed the way he smiled whenever the man in the yellow suit made its way into the conversation.

There's something just not right about him.
