Adrik had been the first to arrive at Aruna. He quickly took the crown from her hands and examined her bleeding hands.
"What is the meaning of all this?" asked Viserys loudly through the hall. There was complete silence in the room and all eyes were on the royal family and the two Tyrell siblings. But Aruna did not notice any of this. She was suddenly in a state of shock and the flowing blood on her hands hypnotized her.
Rhaenyra stepped up to the two siblings and provisionally wrapped two cloth napkins around her friend's hands. "Take her to a healer, not to a Maester." the princess instructed Adrik. Adrik nodded and put an arm around his sister to support her as they walked.
"There is nothing to see! Turn on the music again!" ordered Rhaenyra in a serious tone and quickly the musicians played their instruments again.
Rhaenyra escorted Adrik and Aruna out of the hall, but turned in the other direction. Aruna looked after her friend and she knew immediately to whom she was going.
~~~
The healer treated the cuts on Aruna's hands and bandaged them properly. "You look like a fighter now, sister," Adrik smirked, trying to cheer Aruna up.
With trembling hands, Aruna held a cup and slowly drank the water. Her hands ached with every movement and the bandages made it difficult for her to hold the cup. She felt as helpless again as when Daemon had knelt before her.
"Brandon will break the engagement." Aruna's voice was monotone and she stared at the floor in the treatment room. With Daemon, her vulnerability and heartbreak had returned. She had missed him very much and had been saddened by his departure, but she had been feeling much better the last few weeks without him.
"He won't." Her brother sat down next to her on the couch and took the cup from her. "Ser Brandon loves you, or he wouldn't have proposed."
"But how must it have looked to him? Another man kneeling before his betrothed at the Engagement Celebration." She retorted bitterly and sarcastically. She couldn't get Brandon's look out of her head. "I'm sure he thinks terrible things of me now. Something immoral!"
Adrik put his arm around his sister and immediately Aruna rested her head on his shoulder. "You must tell him the truth if you want to go into marriage without secrets. You should talk about everything tomorrow, but not today." Aruna had to agree with her brother.
The two siblings remained seated, hugging each other tightly, for a moment before they got up, and left the infirmary.
Outside the room, a person was already waiting, and Aruna was afraid of him. Brandon stood leaning against the wall and immediately approached the two.
"What does the healer say? How are you?" Brandon asked anxiously and carefully took Aruna's hands in his. The girl was a little startled by his affectionate manner. She had expected something completely different. "It still hurts a little, but it should get better soon" she replied.
"May I take you to your chamber?" He put the question to Aruna, although it was more likely addressed to Adrik. Brandon just specifically asked to be alone with her.
Adrik nodded and stroked his sister's hair. "Let me know if you need any help. Good Night, Ser Brandon" Aruna had no idea which way her brother was going, because it was definitely not the direction to their rooms. However, maybe Adrik just wanted to give her space with Brandon and went a different way, which Aruna did not know.
Slowly, the two still engaged walked side by side toward the tower. "You can surely imagine why I want to talk to you." Aruna felt sick. She couldn't comprehend the whole situation herself, how was she going to explain this to Brandon? She had hoped not to have to talk to him until tomorrow, then at least she would have had enough time to think about all the possibilities.
"I don't know what Prince Daemon was thinking." She explained honestly, because only honesty could help her now. She took a deep breath before continuing. "We had a fight before he left and I.... I told him I wouldn't even forgive him if he brought me a crown. I thought that was impossible."
Brandon said nothing for a long time and seemed to be thinking. He did not speak until they arrived at her chamber door. "He seems to like you, or he wouldn't have taken the risk." Said the Northerner. They both avoided each other's gaze. "Is there something between you?"
Aruna didn't know herself. Exhausted from the day, she leaned against the stone wall. She had to forget about Daemon, and now? Did he cut her hands with a crown, which he had scammed by murder.
"We were good friends, but had other intentions with each other." She explained to him and tried to make eye contact with him after all. "And if you should ask, no. We never shared a bed together." Made out, yes, but never slept together. Aruna didn't dare not to tell Brandon about the kisses. "A doctor can confirm that for you, if that's what you want."
The Stark shook his head, still seeming very thoughtful. "I believe you, Aruna. I want to believe you." Slowly, he walked up to the girl and put his hands to her cheeks. "We must trust each other if we are to marry."
"You still want to marry me?" she asked, surprised. She had expected anything, but not this. Brandon had such a good soul, she didn't deserve this.
"But of course. Assuming you still want to." Brandon kissed her forehead for a long time and then let her go. "I'll give you time to think about your decision again. I want you to feel committed, Aruna." One last look and he left her standing alone in the hallway.
Aruna couldn't believe what had just happened.
She thought about the conversation as she went to her room to get ready for bed, but changing actually turned out to be more difficult than expected. Sighing, she sat down on the bed when she couldn't get the red corset open. Desperately she thought about how to open the corset with her bandages.
Aruna got up again to ask her aunt for help, but then she sadly remembered that she was no longer there. She went to Adrik's door and knocked loudly. But he did not open and his door was was locked. He seemed to have gone somewhere else.
Sighing, she walked back down the hall to her room. Her eyes were fixed on the floor which is why, fortunately, she saw the object on the floor in time, lying in front of her door.
The crown.
She didn't know what had happened to the crown after she left the hall, but she had a guess. In her opinion, it could only be Daemon who had given her the gift.
Carefully, she picked up the crown and angrily stomped down the hall. Her despair had turned to Anger and she was more pissed off than ever. Daemon had taken almost everything from her and ruined everything, for which he could now listen to something.
It didn't take Aruna long to find the prince's old chambers, and when she arrived there she banged several times angrily against the door. In her hands she carefully held the crown, which she wanted to give back to him. It was not a gift for her, it had almost been her public downfall.
It took forever for the door to open. Almost as if Daemon was considering opening the door at all. had been.
It took forever for the door to open. Almost as if Daemon was considering opening the door at all. to open the door at all. His look was astonished when he saw Aruna. He had expected everyone but her. "Aruna?"
"Save it." She interrupted him and pushed past him into his chambers. It was almost identical to the room he had taken her to on their first night. "What was that about?"
"I think that was obvious." Daemon replied and closed the door. He then sat down on the old leather armchair in front of the fireplace.
"Wasn't there any other time?" Her voice sounded desperate as she spoke while standing in the middle of the room. It looked like she was out of place here, and actually, she really didn't belong here, except maybe her red dress.
"I've been far away from civilization. Forgive me for not knowing about your engagement celebration" the Targaryen said sarcastically, eyeing the girl. Only now he noticed her injured hand. Aruna followed his gaze to her hands, which still held the crown.
She walked up to him and placed it in his lap. "I don't want it and I never asked you to kill people for me." She deftly ignored his words with hers and crossed her arms in front of her chest when he didn't stop looking at her joined hands.
Daemon remained sitting on the chair as he stretched out his arms and gently grabbed her arms. He needed less strength than expected and Aruna opened her arms again. "I didn't mean to hurt you." Daemon now ignored Aruna's words as well.
The Tyrell couldn't tell what exactly he meant by his statement. In that short time he had hurt her not only physically, but also psychologically.
"And I didn't want to destroy your future, Aruna." he added as he placed the crown from his lap on the side table and took her joined hands in his. "I just wanted us to be friends again and for you to forgive me."
Aruna had a hard time breaking away from his violet eyes and she fought hard against his attraction. She didn't want to be captivated by him again, especially since she didn't know what she could and couldn't believe from Daemon.
He had risked his life to get her that stupid crown, and all because he wanted her to forgive him for his mistakes.
"If I forgive you, will you finally leave me alone?" Aruna released her hands from his and noticed that there was blood on her bandages. She looked at the bandages in wonder as she could not feel any new bleeding.
As Daemon sighed and reached for a cloth, Aruna looked to him and finally to his right hand. He must have cut himself while putting away the crown as well. However, it was only a small cut and no real wounds like the ones on Aruna's hands.
"Why did you put the crown in front of my door?" Still, the sight of his injury made Aruna nauseous, for she did not want to see him hurt.
"I didn't. Are you going to marry him?" asked Daemon a counter question, looking up at her as he still hadn't gotten up. Not even now did he have the decency to stand up. He had a much higher rank than Aruna, but that he didn't make the effort and stand up disappointed her.
"Yes, or I wouldn't have accepted his proposal!" That Brandon made her reconsider the choice to marry, she kept quiet for now. Daemon didn't need to know everything. "You only accepted him because you had no other choice or options." Daemon answered mockingly.
"But I did have a choice very much! I asked you, for example." Aruna's voice was just as snarky as Daemon's and she crossed her arms in front of her chest again.
"That wasn't really a proposal after all." Daemon sat up straight and looked into Aruna's blue eyes.
"Why? Because the proposal came from a woman or, because I'm younger than you?" wanted Aruna to know. The tension between the two was visibly tense. The young woman was here in the room suddenly much too warm.
"That has nothing to do with it!" retorted Daemon, finally standing up. Startled Aruna took two steps back. Daemon, on the other hand, took two steps forward and then held her by her wrists. Aruna could immediately feel the blood running from his cut on her skin. "I thought you acted out of the situation. I didn't want you to have any regrets."
"How stupid do you think I am?" asked Aruna, though she didn't want to know the answer. "Daemon I'm not a child anymore!"
Without responding to her words, Daemon took Aruna's left hand and started to open the bandage. The girl tried in vain to free herself from his grip and make him stop. "What are you doing?!"
"I want to see what I've done." Daemon was lucky that he could only see her physical wounds and not the ones he had done to her heart and head.
Aruna stopped struggling, because she didn't stand a chance against him anyway. "I'm really sorry, Aruna. I had no intention of hurting you and then putting your future at risk." She didn't care how many times he apologized. Aruna couldn't forgive him. "I asked if you wanted to marry the Stark. But does he want to marry you now, too?"
"I don't know." Lied the girl with dark curls. She had a sudden desire to hurt him and make him doubt. "I hope so."
"Can I help?" wanted to know Daemon, looking at her wound so as not to have to look her in the eyes.
"You've done enough, Prince." She replied in Valyrian. It was the first time she spoke this language in front of someone and she really hoped that she had pronounced everything correctly. Besides, Aruna had never known how bitchy she could be. Life in King's Landing had already changed Aruna far too.
Startled, he did now turn his eyes to her. "Since when do you speak Valyrian?" Daemon spoke slowly and clearly, yet it took Aruna a moment to understand him.
"That is none of your business." She took a step toward the prince and was now very close to him. She would have loved to put her arms around his neck, but she forbade herself. She had Brandon and she was lucky he still wanted her.
Daemon leaned his forehead against hers. Suddenly they were that much closer. "That makes you so much more attractive." Replied the man with silver hair. "I want to be with you, Aruna. Please give me a place in your life."
The Tyrell girl still couldn't take her eyes off his violet ones. She didn't want to be close to him, but it felt so good. His words sounded sincere, but she didn't want to let him get any closer. "Daemon..."
"Please," His fair hand brushed her hair out of her face and he tilted his head down even further to hers. "Give me one chance. Just one and you won't regret it." Her anger was gone and her hands suddenly didn't hurt anymore. At that moment, nothing else mattered and she couldn't help but nod.
Daemon gently stroked her hand and circled her wound, then placed his hand on top of hers. Wound to wound. Blood on blood.
"What's this going to be?" wanted to know Aruna, questioningly turning her gaze to the man. Daemon took her old bandage and wrapped it around both bandaged hands. "I'll seal my promise with my blood." Daemon said it as if it was the most normal thing in the world and with his smile she believed him too.
While Daemon was still fixing the bandage, Aruna stood on her tiptoes and put her lips on his. With her sudden kiss she surprised the man, but he quickly caught himself and put his free arm around the petite body of the young woman.
Both of them put all their feelings into this kiss. Aruna's free hand clawed at his torso and his in turn at her hip. The bodies of the two pressed against each other as if they were trying to save themselves from drowning.
Breathlessly, their lips parted, but Aruna didn't even get a chance to catch her breath when Daemon started kissing her neck. Enjoying it, she closed her eyes and put her head to the side so that he had more space.
With her fingers she stroked the back of his neck and through his soft hair and quickly she liked it.
She remembered her last kiss with him and how they made out as well. The young Tyrell forgot about the last painful weeks and was suddenly ready to take a step forward with him again, risking everything.
Aruna's hand moved to his shoulder and she gently pushed him away from her, only to push him down onto the chair. With confidence, she lifted her skirt a little and sat on his lap. The sparkle in his eyes made her heart beat faster and she felt an unknown lust inside her.
Carefully Daemon untied the bandage and thus the two hands from each other. They were smeared with blood, but that didn't matter to either of them at that moment.
Again and again the two kissed and when they weren't kissing they were looking at each other full of lust. Slowly his hands went under her skirt, stroking over her stockings to her bare thighs. Aruna got goose bumps. Her own hands just timidly ran over his arms at first, but then she became bolder and her hands moved under his shirt.
Daemon eyed the girl on his lap. For him, the whole day was questionable, but he enjoyed the turn of this evening very much. Finally, he could be close to his Aruna again.
When he was in the woods planning his victory, he could think of nothing but the beautiful southern girl. She had turned his head and made him feel things in her absence that he didn't even know existed.
His hands went to her bum. Startled, Aruna released the passionate kiss and looked at the man, but Daemon just grinned at her and kissed her neck again. "Daemon" she sighed happily and lifted his chin, making him look at her. "I still want you..."
Her words almost blew his mind and only reluctantly he would destroy this moment again. He would do anything for this girl. Everything and much more.
"Are you sure?" he asked again. Even if he was willing to risk everything, he didn't want to force her to do anything. "I do." She confirmed, nodding to clarify as she did so.
Daemon grabbed her by the thighs and stood up with her in his arms. Only slowly did he set her back down on the ground. Bravely, Aruna turned around, signaling for Daemon to open her dress. Fortunately, Daemon quickly understood and started to open her corset.
She got goosebumps all over her body as Daemon pushed the dress off her shoulders and carefully helped her out of it until she was standing in front of her in just her undergarment. Daemon breathed a kiss on her shoulder and pulled her to him.
His gaze was lustful and he had never wanted anyone more than Aruna. She was still so innocent and yet she knew how to kiss. Aroused, his hands ran over her hips as she opened his shirt and finally took it off. His pale skin was almost perfect, even his scars. His body and its flaws told a story and Aruna was eager to learn it someday.
Then she slipped off her knee socks and tried to look as elegant as possible when Daemon opened his pants. By now her heart was beating so fast that she couldn't hear anything else.
Daemon kept quiet so as not to frighten her. He led her to his bed and kissed her slowly, but very intensely. Aruna's legs were already starting to shake, so she sat down on the bed. He bent over her and together they slid further onto the soft fabric of the bed and onto the many pillows, his lips never once detaching from hers.
Finally, she removed her undergarment. It was the first time a man saw her like this and it was also the first time she saw a man completely naked. Yet she was not ashamed for a second. Daemon gave her the confidence she needed.
Greedily she kissed him and only too gladly he returned her kiss, but he loosened this for her taste much too fast. But only to kiss her neck, then her collarbone to her naked breasts.
Immediately a pulling in her abdomen made itself felt and her desire was so meanwhile unbearable. Her thoughts circled only around him and how much she wanted him. Forgotten was the pain and her actual fiancΓ©.
Daemon continued to kiss his way down. His lips felt hot on her bare skin and she enjoyed every second, wanting more and more.
Then she felt his warm breath on her most sensitive spot and then his lips and tongue. She couldn't suppress a moan. Aruna had never imagined such a thing. She had not known what all was possible, especially the feelings she felt.
All she knew about sexual intercourse was that it was exclusively for the pleasure of husbands and for the witnessing of heirs. But how could such a thing feel so good? Only with difficulty she could imagine what else was possible!
Daemon obviously knew what to do to make Aruna feel so good, and her innocent moans only drove him on.
"Daemon please!" she sighed happily. She opened her eyes and looked down at him only to find that he was already looking at her, not stopping to lick her. Aruna's hands clawed into his hair and she gently pulled him up to her. Now he was leaning over her again and he was only too happy to put his lips on hers again.
"Tell me what you want" he breathed seductively into her ear and her legs softened as he lay between them. Aruna would be lying if she claimed not to be excited. But her lust was winning and she couldn't wait any longer. "I want you, Daemon. Please."
"I will fulfill your every desire, my lady." His hands roamed over her body again and she could almost feel his lips all over her skin. Then the Targaryen sought eye contact with the Tyrell and smiled softly at her.
Aruna moaned his name as he slowly entered her, not breaking eye contact with the beautiful girl who had captured his heart.
