๐ง๐๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ and (Y/N) directed their Banshee's to land on the beaches sand, directly in front of where all the Marui's and Awa'atlu village was. It was marked by beautifully and artfully woven structures, clustered among the sheltering roots of giant mangrove-like trees. The reefs were seen all around, protecting the homes and water dwelling Na'vi from the crashing waves.
(Y/N) gently yips at Malik as he lands on the sand, where the clear water sometimes would wash onto it. She jumps down from him, and lands onto the warm sand, as she goes to join the brothers sides.
"Hey, leave it." Jake told his wife, who had grabbed her bow and arrow in case, as they saw all the water Na'vi clan running towards where they were.
"On me." Jake then goes to speak to the teens, as Ney'tiri places her weapon away and they all follow behind the adults. He puts his arms out, showing no harm as the Metkayina Na'vi start to surround them.
(Y/N)'s ears were flat against her head, as she felt the judgemental eyes of the new Na'vi she wasn't use to. She grow self conscious, and pulls her shawl up around her body more, shuffling closer to the brothers side.
As more of the oceanic Na'vi gather around them, two teenager boys come pushing through, one with his hair up in a bun with braids, and the other with a fluffy hairstyle on top of his head. The one with the bun comes to walk past the brothers and (Y/N), staring at them as his eyes linger on the girl Na'vi, making her glance down at her feet.
The brothers spotted this, and it didn't sit well with them as they felt their possessiveness rise, but didn't act on it. Ignoring this feeling, they both do the greetment hand signal in respect, but pause when the other teen didn't do it back.
"Easy, easy, just be cool." Jake tries to smooth his family out, as all the oceanic Na'vi were looking at them and examining their different features.
The two oceanic teen Na'vis laugh with each other, as they see the tails on the new incomers, both of them behind the brothers, as their tails swished faster seeing the other teens glancing more at (Y/N)'s features.
(Y/N) rolls her eyes at this, not liking all the attention on her as she crosses her arms over her chest, ears still down in uncomfortableness.
Though, her attention is taking away when she hears the water splashing next to her. She takes a small glance sideways, eyebrows rising slightly in surprise seeing a beautiful oceanic Na'vi girl coming out from the clear water.
She watches the girl break the waters surface, flicking her wet hair out of her face and when she blinks, (Y/N) watches in wonder as she spots her double eyelid.
"It's too small, how are they supposed to swim?" One of the male oceanic teens comment, his name being Rotxo as he points at (Y/N)'s tail, causing Ao'nung, the one next to him to laugh.
"Enough! Stop that." Tsireya, the one who came out of the water scolded both boys, hitting her brothers arm in warning as they stopped their teasing.
One more oceanic Na'vis come into view, him being on a native animal, called a skimwing as he was the leader of this clan.
He yips to his animal, flying over everyone as he lands the skimwing in the water, squating on it and hopes off it, gently touching its back as it swam away. He walks up onto the beach, as Jake's attention was now on the oceanic Na'vi.
"Tonowari was the chief of the Metkayina, the reef people."
"I see you, Tonowari." Jake greets the leader, doing the familiar hand sign, as Tonowari walked up in front of him, holding his long spear.
"Jake Sully." Tonowari greets back with a kind smile, repeating the hand signal to him as he goes to move in front of all the family, and Ney'tiri greets him as well.
"I knew he was a tough leader."
Some of the Metkayina had started to move out of the way, making a path way through another beautiful oceanic Na'vi, who was an adult walking through to where the scene was happening.
"But it wasn't Tonowair that worried me."
"I see you, Ronal, Tsahik of Matkainanes." Jake now acknowledges the new face, as she stares at the blue Na'vi with question.
"Why do you come to us, Jake Sully?" Tonowari questions the male, gesturing his hand to him as his mate was now standing beside him.
Jake glances back briefly at his family, before turning back around and stretched his arms out a little, "We seek Uturu."
"Uturu?" Ronal repeats his statement in question, ears twitching a little as she turns a little to her mate.
"A sanctuary for my family." Jake explains more as he steps forward a little bit to them both.
None of the oceanic Na'vi leaders say anything, as Ronal moves to inspect the family, while Tonowari speaks his mind to Jake, "We are reef people, you are forest people. Your skills cannot be used here."
"We will learn your ways, am I right?" Jake spins halfway to his mate, looking at her to back him up as she agrees firmly, nodding her head.
While this was happening, Ronal was walking through the gaps between the family, looking and observing their features, as she touches Ney'tiris tail, causing her to turn around to her with surprise.
The water Na'vi stops on Tuk, taking ahold of her arm, "Their arms are thin," Ronal looks up from the alarmed child, who moved to hold her fathers hand and the green Na'vi spots (Y/N), making her walk up to her and grab her tail, "And their tails are weak."
(Y/N) yelps at the sudden touch, moving to get out of the hold as she avoids all eye contact and pulls up her shawl more to hide her purple stripes. The brothers saw her nervousness, and step closer to her side so their arms were practically touching, giving Ronal a small cautious look.
"You will be slow in the water." Ronal directs this at Ney'tiri who was watching closely, not liking the older female prestering the younger teen.
Rona takes notices of the brothers protective looks, but decides to ignore it as her interest was peeked seeing (Y/N)'s skin, eyes and hands."These children, are not even true Na'vi. This one looks like a mixture of many to me." She announced to everyone, holding up (Y/N)'s hands, despite the girl trying to pull them back with a scared expression.
"Yes we are!" Kiri argues on behalf of her best friend, and family as she spots (Y/N)'s expression and watches her cradle her hands to her chest, stepping a little behind both brothers who shield her away.
Ronal now moves down to Lo'ak, and raises his hand up to show to everyone, "They have demon blood!" All her clan gasp and take a little step back at this, muttering amongst themselves.
(Y/N) frowns sadly noticing this, her left hand placed on Lo'ak's back, and her right was on Neteyam's as she stood a bit behind them, seeing Lo'aks jaw clenching at Ronal's claim.
"Look! Look!" Jake steps in, and waves his five fingered hand in front of Ronal's face, hopefully trying to gain her attention away from the teens. "Look, I was born with the sky people and now I am Na'vi, alright? You can adapt." He turns around back to Tonowari, and everyone else, "We will adapt! Okay?"
"My husband was Toruk Makto." Ney'tiri now voices her words, stepping out from beside Jake as she faces Ronal, "He led the clans to victory over the sky people."
"This you call victory?" Ronal fires back with an disagreeable face shown, as she looks between the husband and wife, "Hiding amongst strangers?" She takes a few steps forward, standing bit closer to Ney'tiri now, and turns to Jake, "It seems that Eywa has turned her back on you, chosen one."
Ney'tiri hisses at her words, her teeth baring in warning as she protects her husbands honour. Ronal matches her energy, hissing back with her teeth bared as they move slowly around each other.
Jake, sensing this was going nowhere stepped in on behalf of Ney'tiri, "I apologise for my mate, she'sโ"
"Do not apologise for meโ" Ney'tiri tried to butt in, her head shaking as she stares in disbelief.
"โcome a long way, and she's exhausted." Jake gives her a wide eyed stare, making her stand down and move back to her spot.
Tonowari made up his mind as he watched this fight, and he goes to place a hand on Jake's shoulder, "Toruk Makto is a great war leader, all Na'vi people know his story." He turns back to his people, hands outstretched, "But we Metkayina are not at war." He faces Jake again now, staring between him and Ney'tiri, "We cannot let you bring your war here."
"I don't want war, okay?" Jake tells him tiredly, as he holds up Tuk in his arms, who had her eyes closed and resting, "I just wanna keep my family safe."
At his words, Tonowari and Ronal share a knowing look between each other, making up their minds for the families fate. Ronal wanted to protest on the matter, but was also very curious as to who (Y/N) exactly was, and this lead her to nodding her head at Tonowari, giving her final answer.
Tonowari inhales heavily, spinning around to his clan and places his spear into the sand, "Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us, treat them as our brothers and sisters. But, they do not know the sea, so they will be like babies taking their first breath." He looks to the family remembers now, "Teach them our ways so they don't suffer the shame of being useless."
(Y/N) cringes a little bit at his choice of words, but felt a lot of relief and calmness when he accepted them to stay. However, she still didn't feel comfortable here as the oceanic Na'vi continued to stare at her in wonder, most likely because of her different features to them all.
Though it didn't bother her that much anymore, as Neteyam and Lo'ak had her in between them, and as they was blocking anyone's view to her body, plus how they had their hands hovering possessively over her back.
Jake released a breath of happiness, nodding his head in thanks as he touches Tuk's shoulder, and turns to his family, "Now what do we say?"
"Thank you." Tuk smiles a little bit, standing directly in front of Jake and the rest of the family repeats what she said to Tonowari, despite Kiri rolling her eyes at it.
"My son, Ao'nung," Tonowair points to the teen next to him, and then the girl beside them both, "and my daughter Tsireya, will show your children what to do."
"Father why doโ" Ao'nung went to protest as he stepped in front of his dad.
Tonowari held up his hand for him to stop, "It has been decided."
Tsireya moved to where (Y/N) was, and smiled kindly at her, along with the brothers, "Come, I will show you our village."
...
The family now followed Tsireya through the Marui's pods all around in the village, walking on the bouncy material that was connected to travel throughout the area.
(Y/N) was looking around the new environment with wide, awe eyes as she takes everything in. The girl offered to take some stuff, but the brothers already took it from her hands as they walked behind her.
The blue and green eyed girl stops in her steps, as the ilu down in the clear water squeaks at her, nudging her leg with its head as she giggles a little, patting its smooth but wet head.
Neteyam and Lo'ak watch this, smiling softly to themselves as they finally see her calming down after what happened.
"This way!" Tsireya called out to everyone, spotting the situation with the brothers and (Y/N), making her a bit interested and also mischievous, as she imagined becoming best friends with the girl and teasing the brothers.
(Y/N) stops patting the ilu at the sound of her voice, and send the brothers a big grin as she notices them stopped, and staring at her. When she caught them looking, they quickly looked away with a flustered expression, causing the girl to chuckle and follow along where the rest of the family went.
"You idiot, you couldn't be anymore obvious." Neteyam half grumbles, half scolds his younger brother as they moved as well now.
Lo'ak scoffs at his brother, pointing a finger at him in accusation as he scowls, "You're not any better, bro."
Neteyam rolls his eyes, scowling back at him and shoved his shoulder a little bit as they follow (Y/N) through the oceanic clan made pathway.
...
"This is for you." Tsireya stops at a Marui that was a bit further away from the front, and points inside of it as she also carried some stuff. "Your new home."
Jake was the first one in, and takes a look around the new home area from them, "Yeah, this will work. This is great, this is nice right?" He questions his wife, and all the kids as they come piling in the Marui.
Ney'tiri drops the big mat she was carrying, also glancing around their new home as she sighs heavily, and (Y/N), Lo'ak and Neteyam share a look.
...
The sun was now setting in the skies of Pandora, the moon now visibly up in the hue sky as the sun was disappearing behind the tall mountains.
"Okay, Sully's fall in." Jake's voice calls to all the teens, and Tuk as they all come walking into the Marui.
(Y/N) was standing a bit back, awkwardly on her feet as she wasn't technically a Sully, but Neteyam noticed his best friend there and gently tugged her wrist, pulling her down between him and Lo'ak with a small grin.
Jake nods his head in approval seeing (Y/N) joining in, and goes to direct his words at all the younger Na'vis, "Okay, I need you kids on your best behaviour, I mean it." He firmly tells them all, looking at each one individual, "Learn fast, pull your weight, don't cause trouble, go it?" His eyes move to the trio, speaking directly to them.
"Yes, sir." Lo'ak answers his father, leaning his knee against (Y/N)'s as Neteyam grabs the back of his neck with a toothy grin, causing the male to hiss a little and their girl best friend snickered hearing it.
"I want to go home." Tuk cries to her father, her face and eyes wet from crying as she looks down sadly, sniffling.
Ney'tiri frowns sadly seeing her daughter like this, ears flattening against her head, "Aw, Tuk.."
Jake sighs gently, and faces his youngest girl, "Tuk," He starts off softly, and grabs her little hand in his, "This is our home now." He squeezes her hand and lets go, as he looks back to the rest, "We're gonna get through this, we can do this if we have each others backs."
"What does your father always say?" Ney'tiri questioned her children, looking at them all as (Y/N) looks down at her conjoint hands with the brothers on her knees.
"Sully's stick together." Neteyam and Lo'ak were the only ones to say this, as Kiri was fiddling with the beads (Y/N) gave her in her locks.
"Yeah that's right, Sully's stick together." Jake voices his agreements, and places a hand on (Y/N)'s leg knowing how she was feeling, "Now with a bit more feeling."
"Sully's stick together." All the family now chorus, apart from (Y/N) who was still looking down at her hands in the brothers, making Jake frown a little and squeeze her leg in reassurance.
Who could blame her though? She wasn't a Sully, wasn't born from Ney'tiri, wasn't adopted, all she was, was just a stowaway with them and travelling with them because she had nowhere else to go. However, even if she thought that, Jake and Ney'tiri didn't as they share a knowing look seeing (Y/N)'s drop head.
...
It was the next day, and Tsireya, Rotxo, and Ao'nung all dived off the Marui and into the clear, blue water where all their native sea creatures were located.
Up still in the on the edge of the Marui, (Y/N), Lo'ak and Neteyam were getting ready to jump as the girl pushes them both in with laughs, causing them to exclaim and splash into the water also.
(Y/N) giggles seeing them underwater, and looks back to Kiri and Tuk, smiling at the two as they all jump into the fresh water with excited yells.
Once (Y/N) landed into the water, her eyes opened up to get use to the feeling, and felt the cold water all over her senses. Her eyes were wide with wonder, as she sees all the fish and creatures swimming by her.
She goes to reach out to the small squid that was going past her, grazing her fingers against it as it shivered a little and span around to swim away. (Y/N) moves her arms through the water, kicking a little as she gets a view at the brothers, and grins widely seeing them looking amazed at the beautiful ocean.
Tsireya spots (Y/N) not far from them, and smiles a little to herself as she notices she seemed more comfortable down here, then she was up there before. It made her glad the girl was, and she couldn't wait to show her more of this place.
The green and blue eyed girl swims a bit away from everyone, but still had a clear view of them as she grins with her teeth, seeing small baby fishes in front of her face. It was magical down here, and she never felt such peace in an ocean before than now.
The three teen oceanic Na'vis see the brothers, and Tuk break the surface of the ocean, as they also spot Kiri a bit away and looked confused as to why they were up above already.
"Swim with us." Tsireya hand signals to the brothers up top, motioning for them to come down below, and they both show they don't understanding, but went back down nevertheless as they all continue to explore the ocean.
"What is wrong with them?" Ao'nung signs to his sister and best friend, as they see the blue Na'vi go up to the surface once again for air, them not really understanding that.
"They don't know how to swim underwater." Rotxo answers his best friend in their native sign language, floating in between the siblings.
"Stop." Tsireya hand signs the words, and frowns at the two of them, "They are learning."
Ao'nung rolls his eyes, and turns his head as he stops his teasing and the three of them gracefully swim up to the surface to join the others.
"Are you alright?" Tsireya questions the four, as Kiri had joined them now.
"You're too fast, wait for us!" Tuk whines a little as she complains, and rubs the water out of her eyes.
"Just breath, breath." Tsireya smooths the little girl gently, just as Ao'nung broke the waters surface.
"You're not good drivers. Maybe good at swinging through trees, butโ" His goes to teases them with attitude, but his sister smacks the back of his head.
"Come on, bro." Lo'ak groans with a grumble, not impress at what he said about them.
Neteyam shakes his head a little, smiling snarky, "We don't speak this finger talk, guys, we don't know what you're saying." He explains to them, motioning with his fingers.
"I will teach you." Tsireya reassured the four, but her eyes glance around in confusion when she didn't see the other girl in their group, "Where's (Y/N)?"
The brothers hearts dropped at this, eyes going wide in panic as the were so focused on learning they didn't see where (Y/N) went.
"Did you see where she went?" Neteyam questioned Kiri in complete worry, his accent thicker showing how much he was.
She shakes her head, motiong her fingers at her brothers a little, "I don't know, but I'm sure she's not far from where we are." Kiri smiles a little knowingly at them both, "(Y/N)'s a strong girl, she'll be fine without you two being guard dogs for a little while."
Ao'nung and his best friend stifle a laugh at this, causing the brothers to scowl at them in annoyance. They were both very aware of how protective they were of (Y/N), and knew how strong she was, but it didn't stop them from worrying about her wellbeing all the time.
Downbelow in the blue waters, (Y/N) was currently still swimming around peacefully as she felt or grazed some of the sea animals passing her. Her two different coloured eyes were bright, and wide as her purple stripes stood out a lot more under the water.
(Y/N) turns her body a little as she feels something soft touch her back, and a pincer fish comes swimming by her, its long back fins touching her cheek, causing her to grin widely, amazed by the sight.
She never felt so alive swimming around in the Metkayina's clan native ocean.
