โ€ข Make videos about your stories: make an edit or slideshow about your story and post it on TikTok, Instagram, or Pinterest. Make sure to mention your Wattpad username and the name of your story in either the video, caption, comments- or all three.

โ€ข Know what to edit: for example, search 'fanfic edit' and have a look at the various videos other people make. You can use the same sound/idea as them as long as you give the original creator credits in the caption of your video.

โ€ข Comment on other people's videos/Wattpad stories. This will, first of all, make sure people even know you *exist* and secondly, you're likely to gain more followers, especially from commenting on Wattpad stories. To most people, it works like a trade: if you comment on their video/story, they will be more tempted to do the same to your video/story.

โ€ข Be smart with your marketing. 'Bait' people in, but not in a creepy way. I once purposely made it seem like my fanfic edit was about the new season of a series. The edit had 1.4M views the next day. Videos that 'confuse' people a little bit have a higher chance of going viral (even though you will get hundreds of people not being able to look past their nose and see that it's a damn fanfic edit).

โ€ข Videos that actually *explain* the plot of your story also have a higher chance of doing well. Yes, the edits about inside jokes in your stories are fun to look at for *readers*, but new people won't know what you're talking about. Very obviously describe the plot of your story.
(I often use these two audios
- We'll Meet Again
- Pretty Boy Swag.)

๐–๐‡๐€๐“ ๐๐Ž๐“ ๐“๐Ž ๐ƒ๐Ž:

โ€ข Avoid promoting your own stories on other people's Wattpad message boards. I'm not forbidding you to do this, but unless you *know* the person who gets your story shoved down their throat, it's kinda weird. People sometimes ask me to read their story while they don't even follow me. But with close mutuals, I'm always open to check it out! This also goes for promoting your story in other people's comment sections, doesn't matter what platform it's on.

โ€ข Don't be impatient. Especially if you're new to editing or making videos, it's likely to take a long time before you actually start gaining a lot of clout. But the more consistent you are, and the more videos you post and post and post, the better and faster it will work out.

โ€ข Don't *only* promote your fanfictions on your page. Why? Because after 2.5 years of experience, I notice that I gained most of my followers from regular videos. And those followers will end up seeing your fanfic edits as well. Does that make sense?
