1. Obviously think of the fandom you're writing a fanfic about.
2. Conclude who the love interest will be and if you'll be using an OC (Original Character), two real characters from the movie/show/book, or 'y/n'.
( Always make sure to check the CONFIRMED sexuality of your love interest. If the author confirmed they're gay, please write a gay fanfiction. Don't make the same mistake as I did. If there is no confirmation, you're open to write any sexuality.)
(However, it's strange that people get pressed when you write a straight love story about a gay character, but no one bats an eye if you write a gay love story about a straight character. Don't cancel me for saying this.)
3. Keep in mind that your plot doesn't immediately have to perfect and all planned out. Not gonna lie, I always have like ONE thing planned for my fanfictions and they still turn out to have proper plot-lines in the end!
So the important thing to note down is: what is your main character like, what is their occupation, family status, and do they have friends.
4. From here, you can just start writing. Kind of go with the flow. If you don't like this method, you can also write the entire fanfiction first, edit/rewrite it, and then publish it.
5. Listen to comments/readers. Not only will they request certain scenes, but they will also make up theories, and sometimes, I secretly use these theories... lol.
Let me know if you have requests for tips ->
