Chapter 5 ~ Pour Some Sugar On Me!
"Can I drive today-" I started to ask, my voice falsely sweet.
"No can do, Ark," Dean smirked and I stuck my tongue out at him.
"SAM!" I whined, climbing into the back seat, "Dean's being a jerk to me again!"
Sam just rolled his eyes at the two of us, saying nothing as he climbed in the passenger side. Dean sighed then and his fingers latched onto the map on the dashboard.
"Here, play with this!" he said suddenly, heaving it towards the backseat
I didn't have time to catch it before it hit me in the face. I shot him a deadly look to which he just smiled. Sam punched the radio button then and it hummed to life. I gasped at the beat, repeatedly slapping Sam on the shoulder.
"I LOVE THIS SONG, TURN IT UP!" I shrieked.
Sam laughed, twisting the dial up a notch.
"WAIT! I need the shades first!" I remembered, grabbing for the sunglasses Dean had left lying on the dash.
Quickly, I pulled them on.
"Womanizer, woman-womanizer, you're a womanizer, oh, womanizer, oh. You're a womanizer, baby!" I sang along, bobbing my head to the beat, "You, you, you are, you, you, you are. Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer..."
Suddenly, the song was turned off mid-sentence and I whined, "DEAN! WHY DID YOU DO THAT?! That was my jam..."
I slapped him on the arm hard and he glared at me.
"You know I'm not a Britney Spears fan..." he grumbled and I rolled my eyes.
Stripping off the sunglasses, I chunked them on the dash again, barely missing Sam. I leaned back into the seat and watched the trees pass by as Sam began to drone on to Dean about the next case we were going to find. I loved going on the trips but having to listen to every single detail about the case could get monotonous. I preferred to just wing it.
"Sam, hand me Dean's phone," I demanded, already getting bored of the scenery or lack thereof outside.
"Why can't you just use Sam's?" Dean shot back from behind the wheel, his candy apple green eyes glued to the road.
I sighed before shrugging, "Because Sam always runs his out of battery and I want to get on the internet,"
Dean rolled his eyes and heaved his phone towards me. I caught it deftly in my hands and logged on to Google Chrome. After several minutes of playing, I let out a small squeal of delight. Sam arched an eyebrow but said nothing.
"PIERRE! No, drat, it was Remy! Well, I knew it was a French name... TOD! I KNOW THAT ONE!" I cried out loudly, completely lost in the game.
"What are you even doing back there?" Sam asked in confusion.
I laughed at the priceless expression on his face and gestured to the phone with my index finger.
"Can you name all 75 Disney/Pixar animals quiz," I told him with a smile before pulling a sour face, "But I stink at it,"
"You stink at everything, Parks," Dean grinned and I slapped him again.
He grimaced and I laughed heartily.
"QUIT SLAPPING ME!" Dean roared then, fumbling to slap me with one hand, the other still on the steering wheel.
The Impala swerved slightly on the road and Sam grabbed for the wheel.
"Stop it, you two!" he shouted at us.
Dean and I ignored him though, still trying to slap and hit each other. The car teetered towards the side of the road then, the wheels rolling into the grass. Sam finally got a hold of the wheel and pulled us back onto the road.
"QUIT IT!" Sam shouted at us again, sterner this time and finally, we broke apart.
I shot Dean a dirty look and he made a face at me. Leaning back into my seat, I crossed my arms before glaring out the smudged window. Dean did more or less the same, just glaring out the windshield as he drove. It was silent in the car then and poor Sam looked uncomfortable. Suddenly, he punched the radio button and twisted the dial before landing on a rock station. Music blasted from the speakers and Dean and I both began to grin.
"That's unfair to do to a person, Sam," I admonished playfully, a smile growing on my face as the drums and electric guitar started.
"Take a bottle, shake it up, break the bubble, break it up!" Sam sang along, turning the volume up till it was all any of us could hear.
"Pour some sugar on me, ooh, in the name of love!" I sang out suddenly as the chorus began, head-banging to the music.
"Pour some sugar on me, c'mon fire me up!" Dean started singing too, very loudly and I let out a laugh.
"Pour your sugar on me, oh, I can't get enough!" Sam belted out, grabbing the shades and sliding them on.
"I'M HOT, STICKY SWEET-" Dean started, banging his hands on the wheel to the beat.
"FROM MY HEAD TO MY FEET, YEAH!" I finished for him, flipping my black hair everywhere.
The music blasted deafeningly from the speakers as the black Chevy Impala sped down the road.
