"So, what extracurricular did you sign up for?" He asked hopefully, and your eye twitched at the reminder.
"I signed up for medical Science and Patient Exposure, but that woman signed me up to manage the soccer team instead."
"That's great"
"No, it's not," you said. "It's not what I signed up for nor anything close to what I wanted."
"You really should try to expand a little," Isagi said. "Besides, helping some of the players on a more personal level could better their playing, as well as your social skills." You raised a brow.
"And what's so wrong with my social skills?"
Isagi tensed, panic causing him to stumble over his words.
"O-oh, nothing at all! I just thought that it'd- " He was cut off by your laughter which was so rare, he wished that everyone in the hallway would shut up so he could hear it better.
"I' m playing," you said. "I'm definitely on the more anti-social side. I'm just upset 'cause what I wanted could've helped me get into medical school."
"You should really focus on the present a little bit more," he said. "You might be happy as a doctor, but when you look back at your time in high school, you won't have any happy memories cause you won't have any friends."
"You sound like my grandfather." You rolled your eyes as he spoke.
"He's a smart guy."
The two of you stopped at the entrance of your next class, which had gone from AP science to Medical Science.
"We have practice for the rest of this week. You probably have some other things to do but drop by when you can, okay?" You sighed, muttering a gruff maybe before entering your classroom.
"Oh my gosh, look at that sweater!" You grabbed your grandfather's arm, nearly making him drop the bags he was holding as you pointed to the black and white sleeveless sweater in a display window that would match perfectly with your uniform.
"Aren't we here for school supplies?" He asked as you dragged him into the store and began picking up everything that would match your uniform, as well as some that you simply found cute.
"Clothes do count as school supplies since I'm wearing them at school," you said knowingly.
"Besides, there's a supply store right across from here, so we can hit that up once we're done. Please, grandad!" You gave him a pleading look, and your grandfather sighed.
"Fine. "
After trying on all the clothes and narrowing your selection of twenty-two outfits to fifteen, your grandfather got at the end of the line for the cashier, which happened to be quite long as only one person was working there.
"I need hair supplies," you told him. "Mind if I go grab some and meet you at the supply store." Your grandfather rummaged through his wallet and pulled out one of his credit cards, lifting it out of your reach when you tried to grab it.
"Hair supplies only," he specified before handing you the card.
"Love you!"
"Okay, got prewash, detangler, moisturizer, edge control, shampoo..." You named off everything that you could remember that your mother used on your hair, but you couldn't shake the feeling that you forgot something. As you walked by an aisle, the item finally came to you.
"Conditioner!" You exclaimed as you quickly turned to an aisle holding conditioner and other items. You scanned the shelves, looking for the shiny pink bottle of conditioner that your mom used. You weren't quite sure of the name, but you were sure you'd know it when you saw it.
Your eyes finally landed on the bright pink bottle, but just as you went to grab it, another person beat you to it, taking the last bottle on the shelf. You huffed, ready to go on and look for it the next time you came, until you saw the person who grabbed it.
"You cannot be serious," you said when you recognized the redhead from your math class. At the sound of your voice, Chigiri looked up from reading the bottle, raising a brow when he saw you.
"Oh, it's you," he said casually.
"Why am I not surprised you shop at a women's hair store," you said, putting your hands on your hips as you considered the pros and cons of snatching the bottle from him and running to the register.
What was he gonna do with it anyway?
"Well, when they come out with better products for men, I'll use those," Chigiri retorted as he placed the bottle in his basket. "Shouldn't you be shopping for school supplies rather than..." He glanced at the numerous items in your shopping basket, some of which he had never heard of. "...Getting all of that." You huffed stubbornly.
"If you knew anything at all, you'd know that all these products are completely necessary for someone with hair like mine."
"Sure," Chigiri said skeptically. Although, with the care he took of his hair, he somewhat believed you. "If that's the case, then you probably have something in there that can be used in place of this." He motioned to the bottle in his basket, and you groaned.
"Come on, be a gentleman or something," you whined.
"Last time I checked, chivalry did not include handing over the last bottle of conditioner," Chigiri said, and you frowned, sighing as you resorted to your final tactic.
"If you give it to me, I'll buy you some more paper for class." He raised a brow, but you remembered how he mentioned he hardly has any paper for himself. He sighed as he grabbed the bottle from his basket and tossed it to you.
"No need," he said as you struggled to catch it. "If you're that desperate, then you need it more than me."
"Thank you so much!" To his surprise, you grabbed his hand and shook it. "I promise next time I come here, I'll grab some for you-"
"Y/n?"
You and Chigiri both turned to see your grandfather standing at the end of the aisle. When he saw the two of you, his eyes widened before a proud smile spread across his face. "I'm glad to see you're making friends," he said with a wink. Your face heated up as you quickly backed away from the confused male.
"That's not it at all!" You shouted, catching the attention of some nearby shoppers. "Aren't you supposed to meet me at the supply store?" Your grandfather approached you, ignoring your question as he looked at Chigiri.
"Hello, young man," he said cheerfully. "I'm Y/n's grandfather. I hope she hasn't been causing you any trouble "
"Not too much yet." Although you just met, Chigiri played along, resisting the urge to laugh at your embarrassment. "We have the same math class, and I've been trying to help her out, but she can be quite stubborn." You didn't know if you wanted to chuck the bottle of conditioner at Chigiri or your Grandfather, but as you pictured throwing the bottle and bouncing it off one head and hitting the other, your grandfather's words interrupted your fantasy.
"I have to take care of something, but would you mind accompanying my granddaughter to the supply store? She's in dire need of school supplies." You and Chigiri made eye contact, and you quickly shook your head no, but he still turned to smile at your grandfather.
"Of course, sir. I was going to grab some more things myself." You facepalmed at the same time your grandfather clapped his hands together.
"Perfect!" He said before turning to you. "I'll be at the food court when you're done. Be nice,"
"I hate you," you said as the two of you walked from the hair store to the supply store.
"You're the one that mentioned being a gentleman," he countered. "And what kind of gentleman would I be to leave a poor defenseless girl to walk around a crowded mall all on her own?" You rolled your eyes as you shifted your bag from one hand to the other.
"I'd rather you just let me get mugged."
The two of you entered the store, and Chigiri watched as you picked up every black and white school item you could find. Even if you didn't need it, you grabbed it because it would look good with one of the outfits you got.
While Chigiri grabbed paper for himself, you noticed some people staring at you, some with admiration and others with envy. You briefly toyed with the notion that the two of you looked like a couple and that this could be considered a date.
You hummed.
You and Chigiri would make quite a pretty couple. Perhaps, the prettiest in the school from what you've seen so far. But alas, he wasn't quite your type, and you refused to be the type of person that dated someone for the looks or status that came with them.
"I think that's everything." Chigiri's voice pulled you from your thoughts. "I grabbed my paper and pens, and you grabbed every black and white sparkly thing you could find, so are you ready to go?" You ignored his comment as you nodded and headed up to the counter.
After the two of you left, you walked until the food court was in sight and quickly stopped him.
"Thank you for the shampoo and for keeping me company," you said quickly, and Chigiri chuckled, knowing that you were bidding farewell now before your grandfather could start talking to him again.
"No problem," he said. "I'll see you tomorrow."
As he walked away, the idea came to your mind again.
You'd make a really pretty couple.
You lay in bed after unpacking some of your suitcases and organizing the school supplies you got scrolling through your phone, clearing some of your storage to make room for new apps and photos you took when you noticed an unknown file taking up quite a bit of storage.

You struggled to read the distorted name of the file before just giving up. You held your thumb down on it, hoping to delete it, but your brow furrowed when your entire settings app closed.
What the hell?
You went to open it again.
"Ready for school tomorrow?" You jumped at the sight of your grandfather standing in the doorway. You hadn't heard his footsteps, but he just smiled his usual smile.
"U-um, yeah," you said, setting your phone down. "I was just about to go to bed."
"Did you text Chigiri goodnight?" He asked with a playful smirk, and you were quick to throw one of your pillows at him.
"For the last time, it's not what you think!" You shouted, and he chuckled, tossing the pillow back onto your bed.
"And it won't be unless you start taking some initiative," he retorted, and you huffed, throwing the blankets over yourself and laying down.
"I'm trying to sleep," you said, making him laugh as he switched the light off.
"Good Night, Y/n."
