He leaned against the mirror, taking in his own appearance, disheveled hair, dark bags under wild eyes. His pupils were so dilated, they were almost invisible. He ran his fingers through his hair as he gripped the pill bottle in his hand tightly.
"Y/n...My beautiful Y/n." In his state, he could see you staring back at him in his reflection and chuckled as he touched a hand to the surface. "Do you see what you're doing to me?" He opened the bottle with his trembling hands and swallowed another pill, but even so, the sight of you in the mirror faded, and there he was. He laughed, tears streaming down his face as he cackled loudly, before slamming his fist into it, cracks spreading throughout the glass and turning the one single reflection into numerous reflections still of himself across the broken mirror.

Why couldn't it be you?

He watched as blood dripped down his hand and the glass. "I'll have you," he whispered. "I'll make you submit to me soon."

Nagi sat in his friends' room, being able to hear him down the hall, laughing along with the familiar sound of pill bottles, but ulike normal, he was far too busy to care. He scrolled through pictures of you he had on his phone , turning the volume of the Tv up over his friends' laughter as he scrolled through the pictures, but none of them compared to the feeling of you in his arms, so vulnerable just for him. He sighed, curling into his blanket. He was trying to follow Reo's plans but he felt himself getting impatient.

You woke up the next morning, disoriented and confused. You sat up, only to jump as a damp cloth fell from your forehead and into your lap. Where did that come from? You looked around your empty room, slowly standing up and making your way into the hallway. You gripped the railing, feeling light-headed as you took it step by step downstairs until you reached the bottom. You could hear someone else in the house, sounds of rummaging coming from the kitchen that didn't quite register in your mind as you finally reached the bottom of the steps. You looked around and that's when your eyes finally landed on the couch. The sight of your glittering blue dress sent memories flooding across your mind.

*His proposal, your first date with him, your first time with him, and then...

Isagi's hanging body dangling above you.*

You sank to your knees, holding your hand over your mouth as you coughed, bile rising in your throat. You couldn't breathe, and could only gasp and gag as you finally threw up, but after not eating in so long all that could come was stomach acid. You heard footsteps rushing towards but your last bit of hope faded when it wasn't Isagi's face you saw, and you reflexively shoved him back, scrambling away from him until your back hit the side of the couch. Your chest rose and fell rapidly, so much that it hurt as you stared at him, eyes filled with panic.
"Y/n?" The person stood still, trying not to scare you, but your frantic mind kept you from identifying yourself and instead drove you further into the couch.

Chigiri took in your stressed state. You were scaring yourself, and at this rate, he was convinced that you'd hurt yourself. "I'm sorry I wasn't there when you woke up," he said. "You must' ve been scared." He tried to move closer to you but stopped when you flinched back. Instead, he kneeled down, moving slowly so as to not scare you. "You were running a fever," he said. "I found a recipe for some homemade soup in the kitchen. Heh, sorry for going through your stuff." At the sight of your rapid breathing going down, he felt himself beginning to relax as well. You looked like you recognized him now. "Would you like to help me make it?" You blinked at him, racing mind slowing down to come up with a single question, but vocalizing it was another storing.

"Ch-Chigiri?" You could barely get his name out through your hiccups and sobs, but he nodded. "Yes," he said, taking a slow step forward. This time you didn't flinch. "What is it?"

"I-Isagi...Where's Isagi?" He struggled to hear your question, but the sound of the name put all of the pieces together. "Wh-what I saw..." You closed your eyes as if trying to rid yourself of the memory, but even with your eyes closed it was all you could see. "What is real?" He frowned, grabbing the back of your head and softly pushing you further to him. absolute joy he felt kept him from doing so.

"Yes...He's gone, Y/n..." Nothing could've prepared him for the scream you let out, full of pain that made his heart wrench. But the feeling of you clinging to him, burying your face in his chest and the idea of โ€‹โ€‹him protecting you, being there for you and guiding you through this, and maybe even taking Isagi's place in your heart was enough to help him through it. Chigiri mourned the loss of his friend, but if he'd known that his death would have you broken and crying and needing him, he would've killed Isagi himself long ago.

"Wanna help?" Chigiri asked from the counter. You watched as he prepared to cut the vegetables, and noticing your gaze, Chigiri turned to smile at you. "Come on, it may help you take your mind off things." He helped you stand up, leading you to the counter. "All I have left is the potatoes, so let's do those together okay?" You nodded, and Chigiri placed himself behind you, putting the knife in one of your hands and one of the potatoes in the other. He placed his hands over yours to guide them as you worked. Chigiri hoped you couldn't feel his racing heart against his chest that was pressed against your back. A few weeks ago you would've never let him get this close to you, but now he could do whatever he wanted. You didn't look like you remembered what happened last night, but that didn't bother him that much. If anything, he'd much rather you be lucid, and know exactly what you're doing when you take control and make him fall apart. He shivered at the thought of you claiming him, turning him into something worthy of you, and making him yours. But first, he'd have to rebuild you. His thoughts were interrupted by the pained hiss you let out, and looked down to see that in his distraction, he had caused you to cut yourself.
"Shit," he muttered, releasing your hands and causing you to drop the knife. He turned you around, holding your hand in his. You didn't look fazed, merely staring at the blood that began to drip from your finger. "I'm so sorry, I-" Chigiri hesitated before taking your finger in his mouth. You watched him, eyes dull and void of any emotion as he sucked the blood from your wound. Chigiri closed his eyes, the metallic taste you filled his senses, and he ran his tongue across your skin, wondering how long it would take for you to force them down his throat of your own accord, to make him choke and beg for you.
"...giri...Chigiri?" Your voice along with the subtle attempt to tug your hand away from him snapped Chigiri from his thoughts and made him open his eyes. His face turned red with embarrassment as he quickly released your hands.
"Sorry," he said. "I guess Isagi's death has me pretty out of it." You helped him with the remainder of the soup and after bandaging your finger, the two of you sat across from each other at the table. Chigiri watched you stir the bowl, staring down at the food rejectedly.
"You need to eat, Y/n," he said, but you didn't move. He wondered if you had even heard him. Chigiri sighed, standing up and moving his chair to sit closer to you.
"Look, I know it's hard but-"
"Reo..." Chigiri froze at the name. Why were you thinking about him right now? "When we found Yoichi...Why was Reo smiling?" The red-heads brow furrowed. He could vaguely remember you muttering about someone smiling in your delirium. Was Reo who you Were talking about? Chigiri didn't know what to say to any of that, and the thought of Reo at all clouded his mind with rage. Instead, he picked up your spoon, gathering one of the dumplings in it and holding it to your mouth. Instinctually, you open it letting him feed you the soup.
"I think I should stay here with you," he said. "At least until school starts back up or your grandfather returns. You're not in the right state of mind." You looked up at him, closed your eyes, and leaned over to rest your forehead against his shoulder. You were so tired. Chigiri sat tensely waiting for your reply, and letting out a breath of relief when he heard your meek, okay right as the sound of the door bell ringing echoed in the house.
"I'll get it," Chigiri said, standing up and rushing over to the door. He opened it only to frown at the sight of a man and a woman dressed in black standing there.
"Hello," the man greeted while the woman glanced behind him at you. Chigiri shifted to block her gaze, before turning to listen to the man. "We're with the police department. We're investigating the suspected murder of a high school student. According to faculty members, one of the people who discovered the body is a man named Hyoma Chigiri as well as a girl named Y/n L/n. We were told this was her house?" Chigiri nodded.
"I'm Hyoma Chigiri," he said. "And Y/n L/n is inside. Can you give us some time though? Her best friend was the one who was killed so she isn't in the best state to talk to anyone right now."
"But she's talking to you?" The female cop asked, raising a brow skeptically, and Chigiri's eyes narrowed.
"Look kid, is there an adult present?" The guy asked as the two of them took a step forward. "We just wanna ask a few questions. It won't take that long."
"Hold on, do you even have a warrant? We're not required to answer anything-"
"Chigiri." He turned to see you standing behind him, head still lowered but your voice had a little more confidence in it. He hated it.

You looked up at the cops.

"I'll answer your questions."
