You chuckled at the announcement that Ego made stating he wasn't allowed to hold a practice on the night of the winter Formal. Students were excused from school after lunch to prepare, and since you didn't eat lunch, you were already home, bubbles of the bath soft against your skin and face mask resting slightly heavily on your face. You leaned back, allowing the hot water and citrus aroma of the bath bomb to cleanse your senses as you scrolled through your phone, boredom leading you to check the school page where other students were posting about their formal preparations. You smirked seeing that no other dresses looked as good as yours before closing the app. Just as you were about to put your phone down, a notification appeared on the top of the screen.

Reo

Why have you been avoiding me?

Opened

You were quick to put your phone down, refusing to give him the time of day and risk him ruining your mood. Just as you closed your eyes, it buzzed again, and the vibrations from your phone were loud against the wooden bath tray it rested on.

Reo

You need me Y/n. Stop ignoring me.

You read the message twice, almost not believing what you had read. The nerve of this dude. Against your better judgment, you dried your hands before quickly typing out a response.

Me

No, the fuck I don't, now leave me alone

You slammed your phone down, putting it on silence and refusing to open it as you closed your eyes. Aside from the soft music you had playing in the background, it was silent, for a moment, but just as you were about to fall asleep.

Ding!

Ding!

Ding!

How the hell did my ringer come back on? You wondered as your phone continued to vibrate and your notification sound echoed throughout the bathroom. The messages came so much that, after a moment, it became one continuous vibration that rattled the bath tray.

Reo

Do you have any idea what I've done for you?

Where are you?

Are you with Isagi right now?

Answer me Y/n

You'll regret ignoring me

You grimaced at the messages that came one by one, the last came out completely distorted before your phone shut off. You tried to turn it back on to no avail, and a chill went down your spine as you suddenly felt uncomfortable being home alone. Every creek and sound put you more and more on edge. You tried desperately to turn your phone on and call your grandfather, your dad, anyone, but it wouldn't turn on. You closed your eyes, trying to take some calming breaths as you eased back into the tub.

There's nothing wrong. Don't let someone like that ruin your day.

"That's right," you whispered to yourself. "I have a dance to prep—" You froze at the sound of the floorboards of the staircase creaking. You jumped, hearing one, two, three steps until the intruder reached the top of the stairs. You lived house long enough to memorize every creak of every floorboard to tell exactly where the person was, and you recognized the squeak of the door to your room. There was silence for a moment before the footsteps advanced down the hall, finally stopping in front of the bathroom. You looked down at the unlocked door, too frozen in fear to get up, and lock it, and instead covered your mouth, hoping that whoever it was would walk past. Your mind raced with different scenarios, each one worst than the last as you stared at the door.

Is it Reo? Did he come to confront me, or is he here for something else?

"Hey, Y/n? You in here?" Relief flooded through you at the sound of your boyfriend's voice.
"Come in," you called, and the moment the door opened, you threw a bottle of shampoo at him, landing a direct hit to his forehead.
"You idiot!" You shouted, looking for something else to throw. "What the hell do you think you're doing walking into my house like it's yours?!"
"I'm sorry!" Isagi shouted, quickly turning away. He held his hands up, scared you'd throw something else if he didn't answer correctly. "Your grandfather keeps a spare key in the bushes, and you weren't answering the doorbell or the phone so I was worried something happened."
"My phones' messing up, and I didn't hear the doorbell," you explained, and Isagi nodded, chuckling when his eyes finally stopped watering enough for him to see your face mask.
"Getting ready, I see." You dodged his hand as he tried to poke the mask playfully.
"You better quit before I make you put on one of these," you threatened. "I can see your pores from a mile away." Isagi placed a hand on his chest, feigning hurt.
"Well, sorry I can't be a beauty queen like you," he said, and you let out a dramatic sigh as you sank back into the water.
"I know, the agony of being me." You tried to calm your racing heart as he sat down on the closed lid of the toilet. You looked down at your phone, thanking whatever God that was up there, that it hadn't been Reo who managed to find a way in like you'd thought. You looked up at the striker as you picked up a bottle of blue nail polish on your bath tray.
"Yoichi." He looked up from his phone as you held out the bottle to him. "Paint my nails for me?"

"You sure you're okay?" Isagi asked from his spot at the foot of the tub as he started with a clear coat on your toenails. "You seemed pretty on edge when I opened the door. Did something else happen?" You hesitated. Your phone had turned on again, and you opened your texts to see that the last few, including the distorted one from Reo, were gone.
"Reo kept texting me asking why I was avoiding him and stuff," you told him. "And for a minute, I almost thought you were him." Isagi frowned, a hint of possessiveness in his eyes as he tried to concentrate on your nails.
"Do you want me to say something to him?" He asked as he switched over to the other foot. You shook your head.
"No, you're fine," you assured him. "I just hope it doesn't cause an issue when I start attending practices again." Isagi's head snapped up towards you, blue eyes wide with hope.
"You're coming back?" He asked, and you shrugged.
"Well, the biggest reason I'm still attending that school is because Ego said I was valuable to the team. I'm sure it would cause more than a few issues if I just up and quit." Isagi nodded in agreement, and you leaned your head back against the tub.

You still weren't looking forward to it.

Once Isagi had finished painting your nails, you stepped out of the tub and put on your robe. After washing off your face mask, Isagi followed you into your room, where you sat in front of your mirror and began your skincare routine.
"You must be really excited about this, huh?" Isagi asked. "I've never seen you get dolled up for anything."
"Well yeah," you said as if it were obvious. "If I'm going to show up at a dance, which is rare enough, then I'm gonna be the best-looking person there." Isagi chuckled in amusement as he plopped down on your bed.
"Well, we have an hour before we should leave, so lemme know when it's my turn." You turned to face him to see him closing his eyes against your pillow.
"Hey! How are you just gonna pull up to my house and then go to sleep?" Isagi smiled eyes still closed as he got comfortable.
"My tuxedo's already here, so there's no need to go home," he reasoned. "Plus, I wanted to spend some time with you. I always used to take such good naps here." You rolled your eyes as you turned to look back at yourself in the mirror, beginning to apply your makeup. You refused to wear a face full of it and made sure to use a modest amount, with the only real color you used being blue eyeliner to match your dress. Despite how little you applied, your perfectionism still caused it to take a while, and by the time you finished, it was thirty minutes until the party, give or take a few minutes, because you refused to be the first to arrive.

You stood up from your chair, still in your robe ad you walked over to the bed to nudge the male gently
" 'Ichi, wake up," you called, and the male's eyes fluttered for a moment before they opened, a soft smile spreading across his face when he saw you.
"You look stunning," he muttered, sitting up and stretching.
"I know," you said confidently as you walked over to your closet, picking out your dress and handing his tuxedo to him.
"Don't rush to get changed," you called as you removed your robe, not caring about him seeing you naked. "I watched Cinderella the other day, and now I'm in the mood to show up fashionably late."
