in which a mermaid in perpetual sorrow finds a princess who is equally as sad.

     once upon a time, there was a girl from a town called duskendale, who traveled a lonely road in hopes for a better life. she never made it to kings landing—never made it to anywhere, except the deep, dark ocean which would be her burial grounds. but in those times, the gods had pity for maidens lost in such a way, so brutally, so terribly; and they had mercy.

     ianadoe did not know much of herself, only sorrow, only the laments she sang, of the girl lost too young to the ocean. a creature of the sea, she moved as if sleeping, through her lifetimes of kings and queens, only her songs of destruction to free her from the melancholy in her heart. the straits of kings landing that were once her grave-bed, were now her domain of terror. doomed only to slumber and mourn, she lives almost frozen in time. time seemed to pass by in a single blink, a thousand days and nights gone just as quick.

     until for the first time in her life, someone tries to save her, and ianadoe realises what it means to be living.

the next installment in my otherworldly women extended series, which all my got/asoiaf books are part of ! and YES, the main character in this is the siren briefly spotted by nesaela in hiraeth. right now she's basically a creature frozen in time, not aging, not consciously awake, singing without any thoughts, only pain, and i'm so excited to introduce her !!
