GRACE DIDNT KNOW HOW LONG THEY HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE CHURCH. All she could think about was how Hayley was dead. Just like that, the woman had been ripped from her world without reason, without warning. Nothing could have prepared Grace for seeing her sister dead, killed so brutally. It was like a piece of her was taken along with it. She felt empty. Like something was missing. And something was. Hayley.

Elijah had placed Hayley's body on the altar, brushing her hair out of her face. None of them had said a word since Grace had broken down. No one dared to speak because that would just add to the reality of it all. But as Elijah stared down at Hayleys lifeless corpse, he couldn't help but wonder how this had all happened. How she could be killed so easily when his brother was right there. The brother who killed people for just stepping one foot out of line.

"How?" Elijah asks, his voice hostile as he stares down at Hayleys body. Klaus only stares at his hands, his jaw clenching.

"I was bested." Klaus admits lowly and Elijah grips the edge of the altar, tilting his head slightly towards his brother. Grace glanced over at them, biting the inside of her cheek.

"You..." Elijah trails off as he tries to remain calm but it was hard to do when standing next to Hayley's body. "Were bested?" He asks as he turns to face his brother who doesn't look up at him. "You were bested?!" He shouts, his voice booming as he glares down at the man. Klaus closes his eyes for a moment, his head hanging. "My invincible brother!" Elijah states with a scoff as he shakes his head. Grace didn't believe that Klaus just let it happen, he looked as heartbroken as any of them. They didn't know what had taken place so they couldn't judge him so quickly.

"Elijah." Grace says, not allowing the man to berate Klaus anymore. Elijah glanced at her but kept his mouth shut. Klaus stands up from where he was seated, tears in his eyes.

"They took the baby. But there's still time." Klaus tells them, looking at the both of them. Grace sighs as she knew they are least had to save their niece, even if they couldn't save Hayley. "We can save her." He states and Grace nods her head, going to move to head towards the door when Elijah stops her.

"Grace-"

"Don't." Grace says sternly as she looks up at the man. She was not about to wait by her sisters dead body while they went and saved her niece. "Don't you dare tell me to stay here." She sneers at him and she could see the hesitation in his eyes. "My sister is dead. They're responsible. And I will be damned if I let them take my niece too."ย  And with that, she didn't even wait for a response, she just headed out of the church. Klaus and Elijah share a glance before following after her.

They had been searching the cemetery for quite a while now but they couldn't seem to find the baby or the witches anywhere. It seemed impossible for some reasons. Elijah stops in place, glaring at nothing in particular. "The Tombs are empty, the grounds are deserted. She's not here!" He shouts as he was getting frustrated. They knew they didn't have too long, only until the morning rose to get her back.

"This is the only place they can be." Klaus admits as he glanced around but elijah only scoffs.

"They're not here, Niklaus. We're wasting time!" Elijah tells him as it was clear that the witches weren't around any of the corners that they had turned. Klaus faces him, anger clearly in his eyes.

"Their harvest was here. The reaping was here. They are about to perform a ritual that will feed their ancestors for centuries, ancestors who are buried here.!" Klaus states as the witches could only consecrate his baby on these grounds. He sighs as he looks up for a moment, getting a glimpse of a statue that was sitting at the edge of the tomb. "This statue. We've passed by it three times, all while going in the same direction." He points out, biting the inside of his cheek as the witches were just leading them astray.

"They have fabricated some kind of illusion." Elijah says as he glanced around the area. Klaus speeds up onto one of the tombs to take a better look, a scoff leaving his lips as he does.

"That's one word for it." He replies as the cemetery seemed to be endless even though it was only small in reality. Grace rolls her eyes as she leans against the tomb.

"Great. So we're stuck in an endless maze while my niece is about to be sacrificed." Grace points out as she shakes her head. Klaus speeds back down, standing a few feet away from her.

"We'll find her." Elijah tells her and she only scoffs, turning to face the man. It wasn't like he was being too optimistic either, he was practically sulking the whole way which wasn't helping anyone.

"How?!" She shouts at him, glaring at the original as he was starting to get on her nerves. "How do you propose we do that, Elijah?" Grace asks as she crosses her arms against her chest. Elijah sighs, clenching his jaw as he looks back at her.

"We can find a way-"

"And how long will that take us?!" Grace asks as she raises her eyebrows at him. He was acting like this would be easy when they have made zero progress so far. "They killed my sister without even blinking and now they're gonna kill the baby too. Do you honestly believe they'll just wait for us to figure this out?" She questions as she clenches her fists together. She swore when she got a hand on those witches, they were dead.

"Love.." Klaus softly says as he lifts his hand to her shoulder, squeezing it a little bit. But Grace didn't want to be comforted right now. Especially not by the man who was still covered in her sisters blood.

"Don't." Grace says as she moves her shoulder away from him. She noticed the frown that appeared on his face when she did. "Just don't." Her voice cracks a little as she shakes her head. She turns away from him, heading down the pathway in front of her. Klaus moves his eyes down to the ground for a moment.

He knew she blamed him. Even if she wouldn't admit it out loud. Part of her felt like he was responsible for Hayley dying. And he was. If he hadn't trusted Francesca so easily, if he hadn't been weakened by the damn moonlight rings, none of this would've happened.

Hayley wouldn't be dead right now.

KLAUS MARKS OFF YET ANOTHER TOMB AS THEY PASS IT, still not making any progress whatsoever as he lets his fingers rub across the stone. "It's ingenious. I can seem them, I can feel them, and yet they are not real." Klaus says with a scoff as he drops his hand, shaking his head. Grace kicks the stones underneath her feet.

"There has to be a way. Even if we could just push through-" Elijah starts but Klaus only cuts him off.

"What we need to do is focus." Klaus states as they couldn't get through the illusion if they didn't have their undivided attention towards finding their niece.

"My only focus right now is that child and her safety, do you understand me? This, all of this, this is the world that you created, Niklaus." Elijah states harshly and Klaus only stares back at him, teary eyes as he understood Elijah was mad but he was too weak to have fought against the witches hold.

"Brother-"

"All of your scheming. The enemies that you have made every single day of your miserable life. What results did you expect?" Elijah asks him and Grace just stared at him. Her mouth was slightly agape a she didn't understand why Elijah was being so cruel. "That the child would be born into a happy life? That the mother would be alive to know her daughter? That we could live and thrive as some sort of family?" He questions with a scoff as he shakes his head. Grace looks between them, noticing that Klaus was getting angry.

"That was your fantasy, brother, not mine!" Klaus yells at the man, rage in his eyes but Elijah only points his finger at him.

"No, brother!" Elijah shouts back at him and Grace just tilts her head back. They were not helping the situation at all. "This was our hope. This was our families hope. And now she is gone!" He tells the man who glares at him. But Grace clenches her fists together, closing her eyes.

"Enough!" She screams, staring at the two originals who look towards her. Grace scoffs as she shakes her head. "This is not his fault." She admits as truthfully, Klaus had done a lot that was his fault but he had no control over this situation. "Those witches took our niece for their own selfish gain! They killed Hayley so she wouldn't be in the way." Grace points out and Elijah moves his eyes to the ground for a moment. She takes a step towards them, crossing her arms against her chest. "Yes, Klaus has made bad choices and yes he has made countless enemies which this child will now have aswell. But do not put this on him." She scolds as she looks at Elijah who was just avoiding her eyes. "If anything, we all are to blame for all of this." Grace finishes as none of them were able to stop it. They didn't have to trust Francesca and they certainly didn't have to help with the moonlight rings.

"No, he could've stopped it." Elijah snaps back at her and Grace just rolls her eyes, shaking her head. He seriously wasn't considering the fact that Klaus was devastated about this as they all were. Elijah only cared about his own feelings. "Do you understand, I... Let this person in. I let her in." His voice wavers as he stares at Klaus who's jaw clenches lightly. Grace looks towards the ground, a sigh leaving her lips. "I don't let people in. You knew this and you've taken her from me. I needed her and you've broken me." A tear escapes his eye as he only sits down on the stone behind him. Grace understood his pain, but he still couldn't blame Klaus for what had happened. She noticed Klaus had sat down next to his brother.

"We have to keep moving." Grace tells them as she stares down at the originals. Elijah could have a moment but they shouldn't waste any more time. It was clear that the sacrifice was going to happen soon but they were not even close to finding out where.

"Love-" Klaus starts to say, looking up at her but Grace sighs, shaking her head.

"No. I get it, he cared for Hayley and lost her. But she was my sister and I'm still helping." Grace points out as she wasn't about to lose her niece because Elijah couldn't pull himself together. There was a time to grieve and that was after they rescued the baby. "So, get the hell up." She tells him as she stares down at Elijah. The man lifts his eyes, nodding his head.

"You can tell your niece, how much you cared for her mother. When we save her." Klaus tells him as he places his hand on his brothers shoulder. Elijah stands up, his jaw clenched but he looked towards Klaus. Grace sighs as she turns to head down the pathway.

They had continued searching the tombs but they still couldn't find them. They were just going in circles as they noticed the marks that Klaus had put on the wall.
"

We've past through here twice already." Elijah admits with a sigh as he shakes his head. "We're running out of time." He points out as the moon had faded from the morning sky.

"Then we move faster." Klaus states as he looks over at Elijah. But it didn't seem that easy. They've been looking for hours and have come up empty handed.

"Or smarter." A new voice adds and Grace's whole body freezes. She slowly turns her body only to see Hayley sitting in the entrance. Her mouth falls open, her eyes widening as she wasn't sure what she was seeing was real.

"Hayley.." Elijah gasps out, just as shocked as everyone else. Grace had her confirmation that it wasn't all in her head. She didn't waste any time in running over to the girl and enveloping her in a tight hug. Hayley immediately hugs her back, closing her eyes for a moment as she rests her head in the nape of the girls neck. Klaus and Elijah were both a little confused, as was Grace but she was more estatic than anything. She didn't care how Hayley was here, she was just happy that she was.

Grace pulls away from Hayley, putting her hands on both of her cheeks. She flickers her eyes over the girl, as if afraid she was just going to disappear. "You're really here." She states with a huge smile on her face, tears streaming from her eyes. Hayley nods her head, resting her forehead against Grace's before the girls pull apart. By then, elijah was standing next to them. He lifts his hand to Hayley, running it through her hair.

"How are you here?" Elijah asks, his eyebrows furrowing as he gazed down at the girl. A tear slips from Hayleys eye as she looks up at him.

"I woke up in the church.." She starts, her voice weak as she remembered everything that had happened to her. "I felt this hunger. I knew what I needed." Hayley tells them and Grace just stared back at her. She knew what that meant. "I can feel her. She's here." Hayley says as she moves through the tomb, glancing around. "I can feel my baby." She states with a nod, her hand still connected to Graces.

"You died with the baby's blood still in your system. Shes in transition." Klaus states as he stares at the brunette.

"Which means, she has to drink the blood of the child if she's to survive." Elijah adds as he furrows his eyebrows. Grace squeezes Hayley's hand, giving her a comforting smile as she knew none of this would be easy.

"To be reborn a hybrid." Klaus states as it was obvious what was going to happen. It was the same thing that happened with Tyler's werewolf friend. The baby's blood was ingested in her system, so that saved her from actually dying.

"I don't care about me." Hayley admits as she shakes her head as she stares at them. "I'm gonna go find our daughter." She says, her voice firm as she was not about to let her baby be sacrificed. Hayley walks towards the exit, Grace by her side as elijah and Klaus followed closely behind.

It seemed Hayley could find Hope so at least now they didnt have to wander around aimlessly. But when they turned the corner, they saw Genevieve with a knife raised over the baby as it laid on the alter. Grace's eyes widen as she takes in the scene. "No!" Hayley screams, catching the attention of the witches who all look over at them.

Elijah throws vase at Genevieve making her fall back, the knife dropping from her hand. They start to head towards the altar but Monique and the other harvest girl throw them back. Grace groans as she hits the ground, scrunching up her nose.

"You fools. To come against us in our place of power in our strongest hour." Monique says with a scoff as she shakes her head, glaring at them. They all groan as they could barely even move without being forced back. "You don't face three. You face us all." She states as flashes of the ancestors appear in front of them. Grace notices that Klaus and Hayley had disappeared to try and go around them. Elijah makes his way over to her, helping her up but there still wasn't much they could do.

Hearing a smash, she glanced over to see Klaus had been thrown into one of the tombs. Grace glares back in front of her, shaking her head. She was not about to let these egotistical witches kill her niece. As Klaus makes his way back to them, clearly enraged by what was happening, Grace reaches towards her waistband.

"Enough of this." She states as she pulls the gun in front of her. Grace points it out in front of her, holding it as she squints her eyes. She fires three shots, hitting the harvest girl straight in the heart and head. Monique gasps as she looks back at the girl. Half of the ancestors disappear. Grace turns her head to elijah and Klaus who were both impressed and surprised.

Monique only glares at them, running to grab the knife making the ancestors disappear. She goes to the baby, raising the knife up. Hayley sees this first as she was next to Genevieve.

"No!" Hayley screams and Grace raises her gun to shoot Monique when a star is thrown into her stomach. Monique gasps as cuts appear on her body. The knife drops from her gasp as she brings her hand to her mouth that was pooling with blood. She drops to the ground, dead.

They all glance back to see it was Marcel who had thrown it. He only speeds to the altar, carefully picking up the baby before turning to face them. They only got a glimpse before he sped off, Klaus chasing after him.

Leaving Genevieve to fend for herself with an angry mother, original and aunt.

ELIJAH HAD CHAINED GENEVIEVE UP SO SHE COULDNT GO ANYWHERE. They wanted answers and they wanted them now. Why had the witches gone to such lengths to try and sacrifice a new born child? What was their plan other than getting an unlimited amount of power. If anything, they were just doing it because they could and to be selfish for their own gain.

Hayley had her arms crossed as she stood next to Grace, both of them glaring at the witch in front of them. "Why?" Hayley asks, her tone harsh as she clenches her jaw. She tried to keep her anger in check so they could get answers but she was so close to just ripping her head off.

"The ancestors left me no choice." Genevieve admits as she looks back at them. Hayley shakes her head, not believing that it was a good enough reason to do what she did.

"You were willing to sacrifice an innocent baby for more power." She points out with a a scoff.

"Not just power. It was the ancestors decree." Genevieve tells them as she was forced to do what they said. Her eyes move to Elijah before they drop to the ground. "It was her decree." Her voice was slightly lower but it caught Elijah's attention. He glares at her, grabbing her chin and forcing her to look at him.

"Who's decree?" Elijah questions and Genevieve only smirks, raising her eyebrows at the original.

"I'm surprised you have to ask." She admits with a laugh making Elijah squints his eyes. "After all, you were the one who convinced your siblings to consecrate her in New Orleans soil." Genevieve states and it didn't take long for them to figure out who she was referring to.

"Esther." Hayley gasps out, a shocked expression on her face.

"So, not even death can stop my mother from seeking the destruction of her own fresh and blood." Elijah mutters as he shakes his head, wondering why his mother would go to such lengths to get rid of a baby girl.

"This isn't the end." Genevieve admits as she stares at them and Elijah just squints his eyes are the witch. "As long as that child lives. The witches of New Orleans will never stop coming for it. Esther will never stop coming for it. It has been decreed." She explains to them, gulping slightly as she saw the anger radiating off of them. "Your baby will be consecrated among her ancestors. She will not live."ย  She says as she shakes her head. Grace scoffs as she crosses her arms against her chest.

"Not if we have anything to say about it." Grace tells her, she will not let a bunch of witches who just want to gain power, take her niece away from her. Genevieve glances at the blonde, a frown on her face.

"Grace, I didn't mean to do-" Genevieve starts to make an excuse in which Grace did not want to hear. She honestly thought she could just apologize and everything would be peachy? After she just killed her sister and tried to kill a baby.

"To do what? Kill my sister? Try and kill my newborn niece?" Her voice was sharp as she sends a deadly glare towards the witch. Genevieve cries as she shakes her head.

"You have to understand, I just wanted to live." She explains but Grace only rolls her eyes. Genevieve feels the blood trickling down her face. "They're coming for me. I can feel it." Genevieve admits as she glances up, the blood pooling from her eyes. She looks at them, a sorrow look on her face."Tell Klaus, I'm sorry." She states and Grace just scoffs. No way would Klaus ever forgive the woman, none of them would. Hayley just grabs the knife that was going to be used on her baby and stabs it into Genevieve's heart. The woman gasps as Hayley twists it.

"I'm not." Hayley sneers at her before letting go of the knife and turning around. She grabs a hold of Grace's arm and brings her with her as they both leave the tomb, elijahs eyes on them. Grace feels the fresh air hit her skin.

"Don't you ever scare me like that again." Grace admits with a sigh as she glanced at her sister. Hayley squints her eyes, amusement clear in her eyes as it wasn't like she wanted to have her throat slit open.

"Oh, im sorry. I'll just try not and get murdered next time." Hayley retorts with a slight laugh and Grace only presses her lips together tightly. It was probably too soon to make jokes, especially since Grace was staring at her lifeless corpse only hours ago.

"I thought I lost you." Grace says, her voice cracking as tears formed in her eyes. She has almost lost the girl twice in the matter of days. And this time, Hayley truly had died and now would live for an eternity without her.

"You didn't." Hayley assures her as she grabs a hold of her hand as they walked. Grace shakes her head as she stares down at the ground for a minute.

"When I saw you in Klaus' arms..." She trails off, having to take a shaky breath as that sight would never leave her brain until the day she died. No one should have to see the body of their sister after they had been brutally murdered. "I felt like something inside of me die as well." Grace admits as it was like the two were connected and when Hayley died, that connection broke off and took a piece of her with it. "I can't lose you, Hayley. Ever." She says as she looks up at the brunette. Hayley sighs, tilting her head a she squeezed her hand tightly.

"You won't." Hayleys replies with a soft smile on her lips. Grace returns it as she rests her head on the woman's shoulder as they walked together. Hayley wraps her arm around Grace, a sigh leaving her lips as she stared out in front of her.

She had a beautiful baby girl, but that girl will grow up in a world of violence and danger. Hayley won't let her daughter be surrounded by that. Even if she had to lose her to keep her safe.

GRACE WAS HOLDING HOPE IN HER ARMS, Hayley had told her the name of the little girl as soon as Klaus and her had decided on it. Hope Andrea Mikaelson. Grace was smiling as she watched her niece just gaze up at her, cooing lightly. Grace laughs as she plays with the baby's small fingers. "She has your eyes." Grace admits as she glanced at Hayley who was just smiling as she stared at her daughter.

"She's perfect." Hayley says as she plays strokes her cheek. Grace hands Hope back to Hayley who was sat just below her.

"Lucky she took after her mother." Grace teases with a smirk playing on her lips. She glanced over at Elijah and Klaus who were sat in Hayley's room having a hushed conversation.

"This world doesn't deserve her." Hayley states as she shakes her head. Her baby had already gone through so much and it was only her first day.

"Hey." Grace says as she looks down at Hayley who meets her gaze. "We will protect her." She assures the woman with a smile resting on her face. Hayley nods her head, but her happy expression falls slightly.

"I will." Hayley corrects her and Grace furrows her eyebrows as she meets her eyes. "This isn't your home, Grace." She says softly as she shakes her head. She really appreciated grace staying, even when they were in a fight. But it wasn't permanent. "You can go back to New York." Hayley admits as she didn't want to force the woman to stay. Grace smiles as she tilts her head.

"My home is wherever you are." Grace tells her as she puts her hand on the woman's shoulder. Hayley nods her head with a gentle smile.

"I know." Hayley says as she brings one of her hands to Graces. "But your life shouldn't revolve around me. You have a job. You have Jenna. You have your own city to get back to." She points out as for the past few years, Grace had always been there for her no matter what and she sacrificed a lot so that Hayley could grow up okay.

"I just got you back." Grace replies as she had practically just come back from the dead and was telling her to leave.

"I know. But it's time for you to focus on your own happiness." Hayley admits as tears form in her eyes. They would always be sisters, no matter where in the world they were. "I will always be here. And you can always come back and see us. But this world..." She trails off for a moment, shaking her head as a frown appears on her lips. "I won't let you get sucked in as well." Hayley states as she wouldn't let the supernatural take her sister as well.

"I think I'm already in it." Grace states with a slight laugh as the minute she learned of Hayley being a werewolf, she was in that world. Hayley sighs as she gets up, looking at her sister before making her way into the bedroom where Klaus and Elijah were still talking amongst themselves. And although Grace couldn't hear them, Hayley could.

"There is a third option." Hayley admits, catching the originals attention. They both glance at her curiously. Hayley looks down at her child before taking in a shaky breath. "I grew up in a warzone. My parents thought they could protect me but in the end they were slaughtered. And I spent my childhood alone and unloved." She admits as she stares at the man. Hayley lightly smiles as she glanced towards Grace
"Until Grace ran in front of our car one night." She adds and Grace returns the smile, placing her hand around the girls waist. Hayley sighs as she bites the inside of her cheek. "I made a promise to my baby and to myself. That she would not grow up like I did. That she would grow up safe and loved. And yet, here she is on her first day on earth with a grandmother that is bent on sacrificing her." Hayleys voice cracks as a tear falls from her eyes. Grace sighs as she closes her eyes for a moment. "And a mother who has to drink the blood of her baby to survive transitioning into a hybrid and I'm the one who loves her the most." She cries as she looks down at her baby, shaking her head. Grace rubs her back, she knew how hard it was for Hayley to have to make a decision on how to keep her child safe. "I think the only thing to do is, send her away while we stay behind and clean up the mess we have made." Hayley finishes as she wipes away her tears. Grace looks at the originals who were both processing what she was saying.

"No, this is insane." Elijah states as he gets up, shaking his head. He wasn't about to let his niece leave his sight when she wouldn't have them to protect her. "You heard Genevieve. So long as she lives, that baby will be hunted." He tells them as he turns to look at Klaus who had made his way to stand next to Hayley and their child.

"Not if no one knows she lives." Klaus points out as no one could harm her if everyone believed she was dead. Hayley glanced at him, a frown on her lips but they all knew this was what had to be done.

"What is it you intend to do, brother?" Elijah asks curiously as he didn't know what his brother had in mind. Klaus just looks down at his child, clenching his jaw. He would not allow his baby to come to any harm. He looks back up at Elijah, a firm expression on his face.

"Whatever it takes to save our family."

SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD GRACE WAS SITTING ON HER BED, just looking up at the ceiling as she didn't know what else to do. She was contemplating going on a walk but she really didn't have the energy to do that, plus she didn't want to. And it was getting dark and she didn't trust the men out on the streets. A knock on the door catches her attention, Grace turns her head seeing it was Hayley poking her head inside.

"Hey." Hayley says with a soft smile but Grace could see that the girl had been crying.

"Hey." Grace responds as Hayley walks in, shutting the door behind her. She walks over to the bed, getting on it and sitting next to Grace.

"I thought you were hanging out with Dylan, tonight?" She asks, confusion in her tone as she swore the two made plans last weekend to hang out tonight. Grace's heart stops at the mention of his name.

"Dylan and I broke up." Grace tells her making Hayley's eyebrows furrow. Well, that was one way to put it.

"Oh, what happened?" Hayley asks with a frown as she thought they were happy together. At least that's what it looked like to anyone who wasnt actually in the relationship.

"He just..." Grace trails off as she looks at Hayley. The girl didn't deserve to carry Grace's baggage around. So, making up a lie in order to save some of the girls innocence was worth it to Grace. "We split apart." She tells Hayley even though it was far from the truth and Dylan was buried six feet underneath the earth right now.

"Boys are stupid anyways." Hayley says with a sigh as she never understood how girls could just fall so easily for guys who do the bare minimum.

"Yes, they are." Grace agrees with a nod of her head as Dylan hadn't exactly been the best boyfriend. Well, he was in the beginning during the honeymoon phase which was when everything is so new and exciting.

Then of course he betrayed her trust and even though she took him back. His attitude had changed and it was like he had become a completely different person. When he first hit her, that's when she knew that he was just like her father. Except, Dylan had a false sense of what love actually was. He had attacked her the other night and Grace had just gotten so angry. One thing lead to another and she was burying him in the middle of the woods.

Grace sighs as she comes back from her thoughts, seeing the distant look on Hayleys face. "What's got you so upset, sugar?" She asks as she could see the hurt glint in ehr eyes. Hayley shrugs her shoulders.

"Just uh, my mom and dad." She says softly as she gazes down at the covers. Grace tenses as she felt her heart plummet.

"Did they do something?" Grace immediately asks as that's where her mind just goes. Anytime Hayley got upset, especially about her parents, grace feared that they hurt her in some way.

"No, they just.." Hayley starts as she bites the inside of her cheek, fiddling her fingers since she was nervous to tell her. "Remember when you were away last week on that trip for school?" She asks curiously and Grace squints her eyes, nodding her head.

"Yeah?"

"Well, I was stupid and got drunk.." She trails off, her hands physically shaking as she remembered what happened. Grace nods her head slowly, everyone got drunk without their parents permission at least once in their life. Hell, Grace would steal her mother's cigarettes to smoke.

"What is it?" Grace asks softly, resting her hand on the girls knee, rubbing it. Hayley takes a deep breath as she brings her eyes to Graces.

"Promise me, you won't hate me." Hayley says as she didn't want to lose Grace aswell. She was the only person she had in her life.

"Why would I hate you?" She questions as she didn't understand why Hayley could've done that was so bad. Grace knew her parents were bad people, she would definitely not group Hayley in that bunch.

"I-i was out on a boat with my friends and I accidentally pushed someone and they in fell the water." Hayley explains to her and Grace just listens to her, but she could figure out what had happened if the girl was this upset. "And drowned." She finishes and Grace lets out a sigh, taking her hand and squeezing it.

"Oh, sweetheart. It was an accident." Grace states as she didn't mean to push someone in. And it wasn't her fault if they couldn't swim. Hayley most likely wasn't the only drunk one on that boat.

"That isn't all." Hayley admits and Grace furrows her eyebrows. What could be worse than accidentally killing someone? "I'm a werewolf." She says, her eyes glowing yellow. Grace just stared at her for a moment. She had heard stories about werewolves and all that growing up. But she never thought any of it was actually real. Although, she wished for a werewolf or a vampire to come in the middle of the night and eat her father alive.

"That's pretty damn cool, sugar." Grace replies with a nod, her expression not really changing much which shocked Hayley the most. Grace hadn't shown an ounce of fear, hatred or disgust when she had told her.

"You think so?" Hayley asks as she didn't think it was cool. She had killed someone and now she turned into a monster. But Grace only nods her head, raising an eyebrow.

"Now, no one will mess with you." Grace points out with a smirk playing on her lips. Hayley smiles for a moment, it would be pretty cool to make people be afraid of her. But apparently her parents didn't find it the same way.

"They're kicking me out." She admits and Grace furrows her eyebrows, tilting her head. Hayley sighs as she fiddles with her fingers. "They said I'm a monster." Hayley adds, her voice shaking but Grace only scoffs, shaking her head. Who needed parents anyways? They only screw up and act like terrible human beings anyways.

"Screw em'." Grace says as she shrugs her shoulders. Hayley glances at her, a little bit confused since she was having the exact opposite reaction as them. "We only need each other." She states as she grabs a hold of Hayleys hand. But Hayley only shakes her head, pulling her hand away.

"No, you don't-"

"Hayley, I spent my whole life looking out for myself. I am sure as hell not gonna let you live out there all by yourself." Grace states as she shakes her head. She could easily get another job, it would be harder on her school work but she would make it happen if it meant Hayley didn't have to be out all alone.

"Really?" Hayley asks, not wanting the girl to make her life harder for herself if she wasn't really sure. Because it would not be easy, two teenagers on the street.

"You and me against the world." Grace says as she holds out her pinkie. Hayley looks at her, a look of happiness in her eyes as she knew she could count on the girl. Grace had been there for her since the second they met and hadn't let her down once.

"Against the world." She replies as she connects their pinkies, both of them kisses their hands. Hayley smiles and Grace returns it before bringing the girl in for a hug.

KLAUS LEANS AGAINST THE DOORFRAME OF GRACE'S ROOM, his arms crossed over his chest as he rests his head against the wood. He watches as she zips up the suitcase in front of her, not yet noticing that he was standing behind her. Hayley had been the one to tell him that Grace was headed back to New York. He didn't know why she had decided to leave so suddenly but then again, a lot had happened in the past twenty four hours. But Klaus didn't believe that she should leave just because of that. Mainly because having to give his daughter to Rebekah to protect, he needed someone he actually liked in the compound.

"I hear you're leaving." Klaus finally speaks up and Grace turns her head to look at him. She flickers her eyes over him for a moment before letting out a sigh. Grace turns back to her bag, lifting it off of the bed.

"Uh, yeah." She replies as she tucks a piece of hair behind her ear. Grace clears her throat as she turns to face the original. "Hayley can take care of herself and Hope is safe with Rebekah, so." Grace tells him as she shrugs her shoulders, plus Hayley had practically told her to go back to her own life. Klaus didn't let the disappointment form on his face as he moves towards her.

"That doesn't mean you can't stick around, love." Klaus states as he did not want to be stuck in the compound with Elijah and Hayley. Mainly because those two didn't seem to know how to just cut the crap and admit their feelings. Also, Elijah would definitely jump on him for doing anything in revenge for his child that wasn't necessary. And Hayley would most likely just annoy him.

"I have to convict a murdering psychopath, anyways. Some of us have actual jobs." Grace teases him as she raises an eyebrow at the man. Klaus only sighs as he knew he would have to work hard to convince the girl to stay. He had barely been able to do It the last time.

"Which you have been doing from a distance, anyways." Klaus tells her as he didn't see why she had to go back. It wasn't like she needed to be there unless she had a trial or another case came up and she had to talk to the families.

"I've been gone for months." Grace points out as she knew she could be gone physically from the office but it wasn't the same, working on cases without her peers around. "I miss New York and I miss seeing Jenna everyday." She states with a sigh as Jenna had become like her sister when Hayley was away. And it sucked not being able to see her since they were states apart.

"I don't see how you could miss her, she's quite annoying." Klaus points out with a scowl on his lips. Grace laughs lightly as she shakes her head. She knew Jenna wasn't everybody's cup of tea, especially when the woman decided whether or not she liked you. Because that did set the course of whether she was nice or whether she acted like you were the devil incarnate.

"What I'm saying is, my life isn't here." Grace admits as she had only come to New Orleans in the first place to be here for Hayley since the girl was pregnant and in the middle of a supernatural war. "If Hayley wasn't here, there would be no reason for me to come back." She states, she knew Hayley was staying in New Orleans, well mainly to kill Francesca because that bitch had it coming.

"Nothing?" Klaus asks, his eyebrows furrowing as she made it seem like she had made no friends here. She meets his eyes, thinking to herself for a moment.

"Well, Cami and Davina I suppose. But they could always come visit me instead." Grace says as she shrugs her shoulders. She had the girls contacts so she could easily make plans with them. Klaus clenches his jaw, knowing that Grace didn't really see him as a reason to stay but still, he thought he was a least a better friend than the witch who had a grudge against him. And Camille would definitely make fun of him and use this as a way to tease him on how Grace likes her better.

"What about Hanna? Aren't you two getting close." Klaus was trying to name every possible reason for her to stay in New Orleans. Hanna lived in a nearby state and seemed to always want to visit in order to see Grace.

"I just promised to fly her to New York and she immediately was okay with me leaving." Grace says with a slight laugh. Hanna had not been happy when Grace had told her she was flying back to New York. But as soon as she said she would fly her out to visit and take her on a shopping spree, Hanna was all for it. But not before making Grace promise to call her every single day.

"So, you're leaving." Klaus states with a sigh as he tilts his head, gazing down at her. Grace presses her lips together tightly as she nods her head.

"Im leaving." She replies with a sigh as she looks at him. Klaus moves his eyes down to the ground and she only smirks lightly. "Don't miss me too much." Grace teases him with a laugh as she tilts her head. Klaus smiles as he rolls his eyes playfully but in all honesty, he would miss her quite a bit.

"Who am I going to get my daily dose of sarcasm and rude comments from now?" He asks, raising an eyebrow at her. Grace smiles as she brings the handle of her suitcase up.

"I'm sure Hayley will cover for me." Grace tells him with a wink and Klaus nods his head, smiling but it was pretty weak.

"Right." Klaus says as he glanced around the room that was put back the way it was before she had arrived. Grace glances at her phone before brushing her hair over her shoulder.

"My flight leaves in an hour." She states as she looks at him and Klaus just bites his cheek, nodding.

"Well, don't let me hold you up, love." Klaus says as he moves out of her way, trying to hide the hurt expression on his face. Grace glances at him, squinting her eyes a little bit before nudging his shoulder.

"It isn't like this is goodbye forever." She admits as she catches his gaze once again. Grace offers a kind smile as she clasps her hands together. "We'll see each other again." Grace tells him as she was sure they would cross paths again, somewhere down the line.

"You weren't going to get rid of me that easily." Klaus states as he would fly to New York if it meant seeing her again. Grace only raises an eyebrow at him.

"I have a feeling I'm never getting rid of you." Grace teases as she rolls her eyes playfully. She knew that the original was going to be in her life forever, whether she liked it or not. Klaus gently smiles down at her, his eyes flickering over her features.

"Have a safe flight, love." Klaus tells her as he moves down, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek. Grace just stands there as she feels his lips graze her skin. He pulls back, his face millimeters from hers before moving back the whole way. Grace meets his eyes, seeing something flutter through them but it was so quick that she couldn't pin point it.

"Bye, Nik." She replies softly as she gazes up at him. Klaus only stared back down at her before she moves out of his view. He closes his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. Klaus turns his head, watching the woman move to the door. Grace puts her hand on the doorframe as she comes to a stop.

She takes one final glance at him before disappearing from his sight.
