GRACE MAKES HER WAY INTO THE LIVING ROOM WHERE HAYLEY WAS PACING BACK AND FORTH. She was the first person that Grace had come across in the compound. Raising an eyebrow, she watches the woman for a moment before glancing around. "Where's Klaus and Elijah?" Grace asks as she walks towards the brunette. Hayley stops pacing for a moment, sighing and she turns her head to look at Grace.
"Off to get Jackson and Oliver back from Marcel." Hayley answers her and Grace raises her eyebrows, amusement in her eyes. She can literally go to sleep and wake up with a new problem every single day.
"Dare I ask?" She asks as she could already tell that something happened. Hayley just shakes her head, it really just added to the stress everyone already had. "So.." Grace trails off, making Hayley bring her eyes back to her gaze. She furrows her eyebrows but sees the smirk forming on Grace's lips. "The other night?" She asks as she raises an eyebrow at Hayley. Hayley stares back at her before clearing her throat, rubbing the back of her neck.
"What about it?" Hayley asks, a little bit tense as she fiddles with her fingers. Grace watches her carefully, noticing how she was avoiding eye contact with her. That was enough proof to answer her question before she even asked it.
"Oh, you totally kissed him." Grace teases her as she wiggles her eyebrows and Hayley's eyes widen. Her mouth goes agape for a moment before she shakes her head.
"Wha- no!" Hayley denies instantly, her face turning red as she looks away from Grace. The blonde laughs as she sits down on the couch, crossing her legs.
"You are a horrible liar, sugar." Grace tells her as her voice always went up an octave when she lied about something. Hayley let's out a huff, placing her hands on her hips.
"Okay, we had a teensy, tiny kiss." She admits as she makes the gesture, keeping her fingers a mere centimetre apart. Grace just smirks at her, shaking her head.
"Mhm." It was definitely more than a tiny kiss. Elijah was a good kisser, it definitely lasted more than a second. "And I bet if you weren't going to pop, you would've had your hands all over-" Grace starts to tease her and Hayley just cuts her off, scrunching up her nose.
"Can we talk about something else?" Hayley asks her as she knew Grace would only get worse with her teasing. Grace shrugs her shoulders, leaning back against the couch as she bites the inside of her cheek.
"I get it. Elijah's hot." Grace points out with a wink, smirking a the girl. She knew Hayley would freak out if she found out grace had sex with him, so she would keep that little detail to herself. Hayley only squints her eyes at the blonde.
"Says the woman who slept with witch bitch." She points out with a roll of her eyes. Genevieve had told her about it, trying to get some reaction out of Hayley but honestly, Grace would have to sleep with literal Satan to get a reaction out of her. Plus, she wouldn't give Genevieve the satisfaction, especially since it was obvious who was more obsessed.
"That was a one night thing." Grace states as she would never go back to the witch, especially after everything that happened with Camille. Hayley squints her eyes, not quite believing her but she knew that Grace often only cared to sleep with people once and move on. It was the other person that constantly threw themselves at her.
"Hm." Hayley hums as she crosses her arms against her chest. Grace raises an eyebrow at Hayley, shrugging her shoulders.
"My taste has evolved." Grace adds with a growing smirk and Hayley only snorts, amusement in her eyes as she stares down at the woman.
"Into who? Klaus?" Hayley jokes as she shakes her head, and Grace was glad she was a lawyer because she was able to keep her composure but she could feel her stomach drop when Hayley said his name. "Trust me, you do not want to go there." She admits with a sigh as she had only slept with Klaus because she was drunk and lonely. She would have never done it sober and she would kill Klaus if he tried to get with Grace.
"Well, I'm not stupid enough to get knocked up." Grace tells her as she moves her eyes down to her hands, fiddling with her fingers. Hayley glares playfully at the girl before seeing Genevieve heading towards them.
"Oh, look who it is." She grumbles and Grace turns her head to see the redhead. She groans aswell, not wanting to be in the witch's company. "Elijah should've called by now." Hayley admits with a sigh as she shakes her head, pacing back and forth as it shouldnt take this long for them to find Marcel.
"Worrying isn't going to help. You should sit down, try to keep calm." Genevieve tells her and Hayley only stares at the woman, not liking being told what to do, especially by her.
"What are you now? Magician slash zen life coach?" Hayley asks as she crosses her arms against her chest. Genevieve gives a tight smile but she was getting annoyed by their behaviour towards her.
"The treatment of pregnant women has advanced remarkably since I was a nurse, but even I know high blood pressure is bad for you and your baby." She points out as she gestures to Hayley's stomach. "Especially now that you're so close to term." Genevieve tells her and as much as Grace grew to despise the woman, she knew that she was right. Hayley sighs as she sits down on the couch next to Grace.
"I hate this. I feel completely useless." She admits as she rubs her face, feeling like she couldn't help in any way. And if she tried, Elijah would literally lock her in a room so she couldn't.
"Don't you get it? You're the point of all this." Genevieve says making Hayley glance up at her. "Klaus and Elijah running all over town. It's all for you. I'm a bit envious." She states with a smile making Grace roll her eyes. She threw herself too much at literally everyone. If someone wanted to be with you, theyd say something. Genevieve didn't have to act so damn annoying.
"Great. Lucky me." Hayley mutters as she shares a look with her sister who seemed just as pissed off at the witch who didn't seem to know when to shut up.
"Is there anything I can get you?" Genevieve asks curiously as Hayley stands up from the couch.
"How about a moonlight ring?" Hayley asks with a scoff as she raises an eyebrow at Genevieve. The witch sighs as she shakes her head.
"The spell can't be performed until the full moon reaches its apex, and of course I need the stones which will be here soon enough." Genevieve tells her which makes the brunette roll her eyes. "Have a little faith." She states but Grace only snorts, getting up from the couch and brushing her hair over her shoulder.
"Faith is overrated." Grace admits before following Hayley out of the room. As they walk down the hallway, Hayley decided to call Elijah since the original definitely forgot about her. She taps her finger on her arm as she waits for the line to connect. It was a moment before she could hear breathing on the other side. Hayley let's out a sigh of relief.
"What's going on?" She questions as she stops and puts the call on speakerphone. Grace crosses her arms against her chest as they wait for the original to answer the girls question.
"Jackson is fine. He's a little tied up right now. Could we call you back?" Elijah asks making Grace raise an eyebrow in amusement. Hayley sighs as she rolls her eyes a little bit.
"Are you trying to kill us?" Jackson asks loudly and Hayley becomes more alert at the sound of his voice.
"Elijah, tell me what's going on now." Hayley demands as she looks at Grace who was just listening in on the conversation. Suddenly there was a beeping sound coming through the phone. Before anyone could say something else, an explosion rings out making Grace's eyes widen. She glanced at Hayley who covers her mouth, terrified about what had just happened.
GRACE JUST WATCHED AS HAYLEY PACED BACK AND FORTH, anxiously fiddling with her fingers as she wasn't able to get a hold of anyone since the explosion. Grace sighs as she knew the woman was worried but they were probably okay. Well, Elijah and Klaus would be okay, she didn't know about her little werewolf friend.
"I'm sure they're fine, Hayley." Grace tells her as she didn't need Hayley forcing herself into labour earlier. Mainly because Grace would have no idea what to do in that situation.
"Klaus and Elijah will be fine but Jackson's just a werewolf." Hayley states as she runs a hand through her hair. Grace presses her lips together tightly as she was sure that Elijah had gotten Jackson out as well.
"Don't worry too much." She says and if right on cue, footsteps were heard coming towards them. They both turn their heads, seeing Elijah and Jackson walking towards them. Jackson seemed in worse shape but it most likely because of Marcel and not the explosion.
"Oh, you're okay."ย Hayley gasps as she pulls Jackson in for a hug. She states at Elijah, mouthing a thank you and he just nods his head.
"I'm fine too. Thanks for asking." Klaus pipes up as he walks into the room and Hayley just rolls her eyes. Grace meets the hybrids eyes for a moment but she just moved her gaze to her sister.
"What about the stones?" Hayley asks as she looks towards Elijah.
"Scattered across the bed of the Mississippi, I imagine." Elijah states with a sigh as he takes off his jacket. Klaus sighs as her pours himself a drink.
"Marcel is no fool. He knows an empowered werewolf army would mean the end of vampires in new Orleans." Klaus states as he raises his eyebrows. It was clear what Marcel had intended to do. "The explosion is his way of saying he means to prevent that, for all the good itll do him." He says with a smirk growing on his lips. Hayley scoffs as she rolls her eyes, glancing back at the hybrid.
"Well, it did him pretty damn well, didn't it?" She tells him as she keeps her hands on Jackson's shoulder. Jackson sighs as he shakes his head.
"This is my fault. I will find a way to fix it." He admits but Hayley frowns, looking down at him.
"No, Jack, you're just. And no one is blaming you." Hayley says and Grace can't help but squint her eyes as she looks between them. Her gaze moves to Elijah who had slight jealousy in his eyes. She was a little confused on the situation, but what was clear to her was that Hayley had found herself in a love triangle.
"I'm blaming you." Klaus pipes up making everyone just glare back at him. "Those stones will be hard to replace. Fortunately, I always have a backup plan." He says as he tilts his head.
"Of course you do." Grace sighs as she shakes her head, crossing her arms against her chest. Klaus only smirks at her, sending a wink in her direction. Grace just rolls her eyes before looking down at Jackson. "I don't think we've met, officially." Grace says as she had seen him around but she never actually talked to him. Jackson meets her gaze, seeing her hand extended out to him. "I'm-" She starts but Jackson cuts her off.
"Grace." He finishes for her making her raise an eyebrow curiously. Her eyes move to Hayley, she figured that maybe Hayley had told him about her. "I know who you are." Jackson admits with a small smile as he shakes her hand. Grace nods a little bit, smiling politely back at him before looking around awkwardly.
"And my plan has just arrived." Klaus states as he holds up his finger. Everyone follows after him, wanting to see who exactly his plan was. Hayley glanced over the balcony, seeing Francesca Correa making her way into the compound.
"You can't seriously mean her? She's a gangster." Hayley points out as she couldn't believe that Klaus would even think about don't business with that woman.
"I see her more as a means to procure rare items at short notice." Klaus retorts as he walks down the stairs, meeting Francesca at the bottom. "Greetings Ms Correa. I see you've brought company." He says as he lets his eyes move to the men standing behind her.
"These are my brother's. I always include them in delicate business matters." Francesca tells him as she turns back to look at her brothers. "Fellas, meet Mr Mikaelson." She states and Klaus only smirks back at her.
"Please, call me Klaus. All my friends do." Klaus tells her making Grace raise her eyebrows. Everyone called him Klaus and rarely anyone was his friend. Maybe that was his way of pretending like everyone didn't hate him.
"I don't know if I'd call us friends. But if you and Marcel are planning on having a little throwdown, I'd prefer my family to be on the same side as the inevitable victor." Francesca explains to him as she stares at the hybrid. Klaus squints his eyes, taking a step towards her.
"Then you have what I asked for." He states and she nods her head, turning to one of her brothers who opens the briefcase so she can take the small pouch out.
"Not enough for an army at such short notice, but it's a start." She tells him as she turns back to him, handing the bag of stones to Klaus. Elijah scoffs as he stands on the staircase.
"Strange, I wasn't aware that she was familiar with our plan." He admits as he looks towards his brother who only smirked lightly.
"My price for doing business is full disclosure. Your brother complied." Francesca tells him and Elijah only squints his eyes at her.
"How does the human faction expect to benefit from all this?" Elijah asks, a little bit suspicious why they cared so much to join alliances with his brother. Francesca only smirks as she clasps her hands together.
"I only want to solidify our allegiance to the ruling class. It's good for business." She tells him and Klaus nods his head, letting out a sigh as he raises an eyebrow at the woman.
"If only everyone shared your capacity for reason." Klaus states as he meets Francesca's gaze.
"Sadly, they don't. Marcel is being especially vindictive." She admits with a sigh as she takes a step towards the hybrid. "I'm worried he may come after me or my family just for meeting with you. It might be in our best interests if we combine our efforts." Francesca suggests as she flickers her eyes between the brothers before settling them on Klaus. The man smirks, shrugging his shoulders.
"So be it. The more bodies we have to defend the compound, the better. Let's get started shall we?"
SORTING THE PAPERS OUT ON THE TABLE IN HER ROOM, Grace lets out a sigh as she was glad that she was almost done preparing for her trial. Honestly, she'll just be happy when the man is finally behind bars for the rest of his life. Grace clenches her jaw as she puts the crime scene photos away, having enough of looking at them for today. Hearing a knock on the door, she glanced over, seeing Klaus leant against the doorframe. She just stared at him for a moment before continuing what she was doing.
"Not even a, I'm glad you're okay, love?" Klaus teases her as he makes his way into the room. Grace only Tuck's her hair behind her ear, shrugging her shoulders.
"I knew you'd heal." She admits as it wasn't like an explosion could actually kill him. It would be different if she didn't know that. Klaus nods his head slowly as he watches her closely.
"Hm." Klaus hums as he rests beside her. Grace only glares at him, moving him out of the way as she grabs the pages that he had been leaning against. "I just thought you'd be more excited that I didn't blow to pieces."ย He adds as he looks down at her. Grace rolls her eyes, putting the pages in her bag before turning to face him.
"Actually, I was kinda bummed." Grace retorts with a tight smile, a harsh tone in her voice.
"You have a sharp tongue." Klaus tells her as he licks his bottom lip. Grace raises an eyebrow at him, smirking lightly as she tilts her head.
"I think we both know that you benefit from it." Grace responds and Klaus was a bit shocked by her quick wit. He smirks back at her, chuckling underneath his breath as he takes a step towards her, trapping her against the wall.
"Do I?" He asks as he runs his eyes down her for a moment before resting his gaze on her. Grace only scoffs as she pushes him away from her.
"This right here proves that you are perfectly fine." Grace points out as if he was actually hurt, he would not be so willing to want to get in her pants. Klaus raises an eyebrow at her.
"So, you get to use me for sex but I can't do the same?" Klaus asks curiously and grace only squints her eyes.
"I did not use you." She denies as they had remembered it differently.
"Oh, giving me the ultimatum of ask me questions or kiss me is definitely not using me." Klaus taunts as what did she expect him to do when she climbed onto his lap in just her undergarments.
"You enjoyed it just as much as I did." Grace points out as he was acting like he was forced to initiate it. She wouldnt force herself on him if she knew he didn't want it.
"Are we not friends?" Klaus asks curiously as he tilts his head, leaning down towards her and she only rolls her eyes. Placing her hands on his chest, grace pushes him back gently.
"Friends does not equal sex." Grace states the obvious as just because she agreed to be friends, did not just give him an invitation for sex. "Don't get me wrong, the sex is great but I'm not exactly a damsel in distress." She tells him as she leans against the table behind her. Klaus only squints his eyes at her.
"So, you weren't eyeing me up earlier?" He teases her and she only snorts, raising her eyebrows at him.
"You are delusional." She states as she didn't know what universe he was living in, but she had glanced at him for a mere second.
"No need to be so hostile, love." Klaus tells her and she only clenches her jaw a bit.
"Why are you like, obsessed with me?" Grace questions as she places a hand on her hip.
"Now who's delusional." Klaus retorts as he smirks slightly and Grace only sighs.
"You can have any girl you want and yet you keep making comments towards me and acting like I'm your only friend." She points out as she crosses her arms against her chest. But a thought crosses her mind as she smirks a little bit. "Well, I probably am your only friend." Grace adds with a laugh and Klaus raises an eyebrow at her. He ignored the comment she made towards him.
"Is it bad that I like hanging out with you, love?" Klaus questions as he honestly didn't understand what was going on through her mind. It seemed she always tore herself down.
"Why?" Grace asks with a sigh as she shrugs her shoulders, glancing towards the ground.ย "I'm nothing special." She admits as she honestly didn't see why he even wanted to be her friend in the first place.
"You are very special." Klaus tells her and she only rolls her eyes.
"Seriously, I'd doubt you'd even miss me if I went back to New York." She points out as maybe he would think about her for a day or two, but he would forget about her quite quickly.
"Sure, I would." Klaus immediately replies as he takes a step towards her and she only stares at him curiously. "If you left I would be forced to talk to girls who actually like me." He teases her and she only raises an eyebrow at her, laughing as she shakes her head.
"Good luck finding anyone." She mumbles as she didn't believe that any girl, who wasn't completely crazy, would want to hang out with him.
"See. Why would I want to be friends with anyone else when I have your blind hatred?" Klaus asks as he stared down at her with a smile on his lips. Grace rolls her eyes playfully, biting the inside of her cheek.
"You're so annoying." Grace tells him and he only chuckles lowly as he raises an eyebrow at her.
"Admit it. You enjoy my company." Klaus states and Grace only pokes her tongue to the inside of her cheek. She laughs as she taps her foot against the ground.
"Right, because I would literally die if I didn't hear your British accent and death threats every day." She says sarcastically as she snorts, shaking her head. Klaus only keeps his smirk on his lips, licking his bottom lip.
"Fine. When you go back to New York, forget about me." Klaus suggests as he shrugs his shoulders. "If it's that easy to do." He adds and Grace watches him curiously, pressing her lips together tightly.
"It is." She states and he only nods his head, a smirk forming on his lips.
"Mhm." Klaus takes a step towards her, clasping his hands behind his back. Grace crosses her arms against her chest, raising her eyebrows.
"You won't even be a blip on my radar." Grace tells him as she pokes his nose making him squint his eyes are her. She only laughs as she tilts her head. Her phone rings making them both glance toward it on the table. Grace goes to pick it up when Klaus snatches it. "Nik, that's my phone!" Grace scolds as she tries to grab it from him as the man answers the call.
"Hello, Grace is currently unavailable to come to phone right now-" Klaus starts, turning to face away from her, holding his arm out to block her from coming anywhere near it. Grace hits his back but he only chuckles. "Call back tomorrow and she will gladly give you her time. Goodbye." He finishes, hanging up the call before turning back to her. Grace's eyes were wide as she glares at him.
"Nik!" She whines as she hits his chest and he only smirks back at her. Grace rips the phone out of his hands. "That could've been important." Grace tells him as she goes to see who had called her but he takes her phone yet again, throwing it onto the bed behind her.
"Well, it can be important tomorrow." Klaus tells her and she only gives him a playful glare, crossing her arms against her chest.
"You are such an idiot." Grace mutters but there was a teasing glint in her eyes. Klaus only smiles down at her, letting his eyes roam over her features for a moment.
"And you are beautiful." Klaus responds as he brings his hand to stroke her cheek. Grace raises an eyebrow at him, taking his wrist and pulling his hand down.
"Calm down." She snorts as she rolls her eyes, glancing away from him but he only nudges her chin to bring her gaze back to him. Grace stares at him, seeing him flicker his eyes down to her lips.
"You can't resist me, love." Klaus tells her and she squints her eyes slightly, tilting her head.
"You're the one who kissed me." Grace points out as he didn't have to give into her but he did. Which showed her how little self control he had when she was around. Klaus only smirks back at her.
"So?" He replies as he would proudly admit it. Klaus takes a step closer to her as she only gives him a raised eyebrow. Grace was keeping her ground as she kept her eyes on his. She loved provoking him, knowing he wanted her but she was not going to give him the satisfaction.
Grace only smirks as she tilts her head, squinting her eyes. Klaus moves his hand to rest on her waist, leaning in to hover his lips over hers. She only giggles as she presses her finger to his stomach, dragging her finger up until she was nudging his chin. His gaze was brought back to hers and he saw the mischievous glint in her eyes.
Before he could say something, a knock interrupted them. Klaus glances towards the door but Grace kept her gaze on him, using this as a opportunity to edge him on even more. She bit her bottom lip, bringing her foot up to rub the inside of his leg. Klaus snaps his eyes back to her, clenching his jaw. "Grace? Are you in here?" Elijahs voice comes through the door and Klaus couldn't stop himself from rolling his eyes, a sigh leaving his lips.
"God, my brother seriously knows how to ruin a moment." Klaus mumbles as he shakes his head, stepping back a step from the woman just as Elijah walks into the room. Grace turns her head, meeting Elijah's curious gaze as he was just glancing back and forth between the pair.
"Do you need something, Elijah?" She questions as she raises an eyebrow at him. Elijah just stared at them for a second before clearing his throat.
"Hayley wants to see you." Elijah tells her as he puts his hand into his pocket. Grace nods her head, pressing her lips together.
"Okay." She responds with a smile before looking back at Klaus for a moment. Grace just smirks at him, giving him a wink before moving from in front of him and heading towards the door. Klaus only chuckles as he watches her but when his gaze meets Elijah, he immediately just glares at him.
The man sure knew when to bother him.
MARCEL WALKS DOWN THE HALLS OF THE COMPOUND, glancing around for a moment, seeing all of his vampires entering the home aswell. He smirks as he looks at them before his eyes move back to the blonde in front of him. It seemed she realized what was going on and he took that moment to speed over to her, grabbing a hold of her. Grace glares as she notices that it was Marcel, fighting against him. "Nothing personal. You're just leverage." Marcel tells her as he grips her wrist tightly. Grace yanks her wrist back but he doesn't budge.
"Let me go." Grace demands but be omg smirks at her, shaking his head as he pulls her towards him.
"Can't do that. Klaus and Elijah seem to care for you and I can use that against them." He states and Grace rolls her eyes, clenching her jaw as she didn't understand why he was even here.
"Why? What do you want?" Grace asks, biting the inside of her cheek and Marcel only tightens his grip around her wrist.
"What I don't want is werewolves killing me and all my friends." He snaps at her with a glare as that was exactly what was going to happen if Marcel didn't stop Klaus and his idiotic plan.
"They'll kill you." She states with a scoff as she knew Klaus would go absolutely ballistic when he sees Marcel has her.
"That's what I'm counting on." Marcel replies with a smirk as he drags her down the hall. Grace fights against him but he was obviously stronger than her.
"Where's the ringleader of this circus? Too afraid to show his face?" Grace could hear Klaus' voice and she could feel her heartbeat getting faster. Marcel stands in view of Elijah and Klaus.
"I'm here." He tells them, catching their eye. But what shocks them is who he's holding, his hand wrapped around her throat. Klaus felt his whole body freeze, staring up at Grace. Elijah clenches his jaw as he sees the blonde before he looks at Marcel.
"Marcel, I advise you to let her go." Elijah demands calmly but there was a certain hostility in his voice. Elijahs eyes move back to Grace who was only trying to keep her composure, not daring to show fear to Marcel.
"Oh, I don't think so." He denies as he shakes his head, looking at Grace who was only glaring back at him. "One step and I snap her neck." Marcel warns as he sees that Klaus had started to walk towards the stairs. Klaus clenches his fists together, growling as his eyes turn yellow.
"Let her go. Now." His voice was harsh and everyone heard the rage lurking in his tone. Marcel only smirks down at him, he knew taking Grace would get under the man's skin.
"I'm gonna offer you one last chance. Pack your stuff and get the hell out of my town." Marcel demands as he looks down at the brothers. Klaus only raises his eyebrows as he glanced around the group of vampires surrounding them.
"Or what? You'll allow your friends to rush to their death, again?" Klaus asks him curiously and Marcel only scoffs, tightening his grip on Grace's throat.
"Look around. Every vampire in the quarter is coming out. They want their city back. No surrender this time." Marcel says with a smirk forming on his lips. Grace carefully moves her hand to her boot where she kept a knife strapped to her. "And I suggest you take my advice before I turn grace here into food for the dogs." He threatens and Marcel could see the rage filling Klaus' eyes. Klaus takes a step towards him, his eyes flickering to the girl who only shakes her head. "You're gonna have to kill us all." Marcel tells him as he raises his eyebrows. Klaus glares back at him.
"I think I'll start with you." Klaus sneers and Marcel only smirks at him, this was exactly what he wanted.
"Come get me." Marcel taunts him as his handle on her starts to slip. Grace takes the advantage to thrust the knife back, stabbing Marcel in the stomach. He groans as his grip loosens and she instantly pushes him back. He glares at her and before she can even blink, his teeth were in her neck.
A deafening scream leaves her lips as she feels the pain of him biting into her. Elijah's eyes widen as he watches the scene, seeing the vampires tightening their ranks so they couldn't speed past them. She could hear Klaus shouting at Marcel and after a moment, she is let go, her body dropping to the ground. Grace gasps as she brings her hand weakly to her neck, feeling the blood spilling out. Marcel wipes his mouth, glaring down at Klaus before speeding out of the compound. Klaus was seeing red and was practically seething with anger.
"Get Marcel, I'll help Grace." Elijah tells him as he looks at his brother. Klaus clenches his jaw but goes after Marcel. He was going to rip the man's head off of his body. Elijah turns to the stairway, taking a step towards it but all of the vampires just tighten the circle around him.
He clenches his jaw, her fists tightening together as he looks in front of him. "Shall we?" Elijah asks, his tone sharp as he glares at the vampires who were blocking him from getting to Grace. He glanced up at the balcony one more time before the vampire start to attack him. Elijah immediately grabs the arm of the man beside him, twisting it and throwing him away. Another tries to attack him with a broken pole but he grabs it from him, splitting it in half and throwing it into both the vampires.
Grace groans as she watches the man fight the group. She turns onto her back, looking up at the ceiling. She could feel herself start to lose consciousness, her hand slipping from her neck.
"Elijah.." She says weakly, staring up at him and Elijah immediately bends down towards her. He picks her up, settling her in his arms.
"Grace." He replies as he brushes her hair out of her face. Grace smiles gently, her head falling on his shoulder. Elijah bites into his wrist, bringing it to her lips so the blood entered her mouth. "I got you." Elijah tells her softly as he holds her close, resting his head on top of hers. She gasps as she feels her neck heal, her vision restoring. Elijah let's out a sigh of relief as he gazes down at her, stroking her cheek as she groans lightly.
He speeds them down to the main floor before placing her onto the ground. Elijah keeps his hand on her back incase she still needed a minute. Grace rested her head on his chest, her hand grasping his shirt tightly. He runs a hand through her hair, taking out his handkerchief to wipe some of the blood from her mouth and neck. Grace pulls away from him after a moment, meeting his eyes and he just softly smiles at her.
"Wow, nice job." Francesca's voice interrupts them and they both turn their heads to see her walking towards them with a smirk playing on her lips. "You saved me the trouble of killing all these vampires myself." She states and Elijah looks at her confused, wondering what was going on. He didn't get a word out though as two of the brothers had bit into his neck.
Grace's eyes widen as she backs up, watching Elijah fall to the ground. She gasps as she looks over at Francesca who only laughs. The vampires had all watched the scene in shock. "Run!" Diego shouts before disappearing along with most of the other vampires. But the werewolves catch them, biting into them, making screams emerge from all around.
"Kill as many of them as you can." Francesca tells them and they nod their heads, going on a vampire hunt. Grace backs away from her, she was confused on what was happening. "Don't worry, dear. You're not a threat to us." She states with a smirk before turning and leaving the compound. Grace processes everything for a moment, her eye going down to Elijah who was dead at her feet.
A thought pops through Grace's mind. Hayley. Her eyes widen as she makes her way down the hall, heading to find her sister. "Hayley?!" Grace calls out as she runs into the room where the girl had been. There was no one. She brings her hand to her hair, glancing around the room before heading back into the hallway. "Hayley, where are you?" She asks as she looks around, not hearing the girl anywhere. Her heart pounds in her chest as she rushed upstairs, hoping to find the girl lurking somewhere in the compound.
Not knowing that the witches had already taken her.
GRACE HAD BEEN SEARCHING THE COMPOUND BUT SHE COULDN'T FIND A TRACE OF HAYLEY ANYWHERE. It was like she had just completely vanished. But she knew someone must have taken her, she just didn't know who. She groans as she tilts her head back, she didn't have anyone to turn to right now and thats what annoyed her. She couldn't figure out who had Hayley when she didn't know half the stuff that was happening. Grace brings her hand to her face, rubbing it slightly.
Someone places their hand on her shoulder making her body freeze. She quickly turns around, knife in hand and she just swings it, not caring if she hurt someone. But Elijah grabs her arm before the knife could slice him. Grace let out a sigh of relief as she stares back at him.
"It's me." Elijah says as he holds onto her arms and she takes a deep breath, closing her eyes for a moment. "It's just me." He tells her as he lets her go and she puts the knife away. Elijah stares down at her and Grace could tell that he wasn't feeling himself. He was all sweaty and his pupils were twice the size they should be.
"She's gone, Elijah. I can't find her anywhere." Grace tells him as she shakes her head and she could see the anger form in the originals eyes. He turns his head to the opening of the compound.
"Marcel!" He shouts, his voice booming as he storms over to where Marcel was near Camille. Grace glances around at the dying Vampires but honestly she couldn't care less about them. "Where is she?! Where is Hayley?" Elijah asks him but Camille stops him, not allowing him to get to Marcel.
"He doesn't have her." Camille tells him but Elijah only glares down at her. "Please. I know you don't trust him but you know i wouldn't lie to you. He doesn't have her." She explains to him and he bites the inside of his cheek.
"Someone does." Elijah points out as he moves away from the girl. Camille sighs, rubbing her hand on her leg before she moves her eyes to Grace. Her eyes widen as she noticed the blood covering the girl.
"Grace, oh my god." Camille gasps as she rushed to Grace, immediately grabbing her arms, one of her hands going to Graces neck. Grace grabs a hold of her hand, bringing it down and shaking her head.
"I'm fine." She assures the woman but not before sending a glare towards Marcel who moves his gaze to the floor. Grace brings her hand to her neck, rubbing the dried blood. "See, all good." Grace tells her, showing that there wasn't any new blood coming out. Camille sighs as she holds the girls hand, making sure to double check the blonde herself.
"Where's my brother?" Elijah asks Marcel with a glare set in his eyes. Marcel sighs as he clenches his jaw.
"I left him in the street. He was gonna kill me." He admits and Grace only scoffs, rolling her eyes. He deserved it for almost killing her. Of course Klaus would've been mad. "And then he got jacked up by some witch's spell." Marcel tells them and Grace glanced towards Elijah, confused on who would attack him but it seemed like he already knew the answer.
"Genevieve." He sneers and Grace could feel her blood boil at the mention of the redhead.
"I swear I should've killed that bitch." Grace grumbles as she shouldn't have let her get within an inch of Hayley. She should've known from the moment she came back to life that she was bad news.
"I'll find her." Elijah says as he goes to walk out of the compound but Grace grabs his arm making him stop.
"I'm coming with you." Grace tells him and he immediately shakes his head.
"No, you're not."
"Elijah, she is my sister and I'm coming." She snaps at him as she crosses her arms against her chest. Elijah just stared back at her for a moment, his jaw clenching before he lets out a sigh. She would end up following him anyways.
"You stay behind me." Elijah tells her and she nods her head. Elijah glanced towards Marcel, giving one last glare before taking Grace's hand and pulling her out of the compound.
They had arrived at the church, Elijah stumbling slightly as he leant against the sign. Grace brings her hands to his shoulders, frowning as she knew it was the werewolf venom in his veins. "They're in here." He says weakly as he points to the church. Grace glanced at the doors but she sighs as she looks at the man.
"Elijah you can barely stand." She points out as the man was practically using her to stay standing the whole way there. Elijah shakes his head as he starts to stumble his way towards the doors.
"She's here." Elijah says weakly as he opens the door, walking into the Church. He falls forward slightly, grace behind him. "Hayley!" He shouts but he had suddenly stopped dead in his tracks making Grace hit his back. She furrows her eyebrows, wondering why he had stopped. She moves so she was next to him, about to say something when her eyes found the scene in front of them.
Klaus was on the floor near the altar, his head hung low. But that wasn't what caught her attention. It was the body that was in his arms, not moving. It wasn't a mystery who it was, Grace recognized her right away. It was Hayley. Hayley was in his arms, seemingly lifeless as blood surrounded them. She felt her heart stop, she could barely move, she could barely breath.
"No.." Her voice was weak, cracking slightly as she saw the girl in Klaus' arms. Grace furrows her eyebrows, shaking her head as she could feel the tears brim in her eyes. "No!" Grace screams as she rushed over to them, bending down next to them. Her hands come up to Hayley's head, lifting it slightly and brushing the hair out of her face. Hayley's eyes were closed, blood around her neck and it was evident that it was cut. Grace sniffles as she bites the inside of her cheek. Placing her hands on the girls shoulders, she shakes her. "Hayley, wake up." She pleads as she feels Elijah sit down next to her, just staring down at Hayleys body. Klaus watches as the girl cries, trying desperately to bring Hayley back. "Wake up!" Her voice was more fragile this time, staring down at the girl who hadn't moved an inch.
"You are not dead!" Grace denies as she sniffles, continuing to shake the girl as she refused to accept it. Hayley was never meant to die. Not before her. Grace had spent so long making sure that nothing happened to her. And she had gotten so caught up in her own life instead of watching out for her. If Grace had went to Mystic Falls with her like they had first planned, maybe none of this would've ever happened. "Hayley!" She shouts but she felt someone put their hand on hers. Grace looks up, seeing it was Klaus who was looking at her.
"She's gone." Klaus tells her softly, a tear slipping from his eye. Grace just shakes her head, ripping her hand away from him as she brings her eyes back to Hayley. The girl was lifeless, just laying in Klaus' arms. She holds her chest, not being able to breathe. Klaus frowns as he watches her but he knew how hard this must be for her. Yes, he lost the mother of his child but she lost her sister.
Grace stands up, stumbling back and Elijah glanced up at her, looking at her with concern. She only shakes her head as she turns away from them, walking a few steps. She closes her eyes for a moment, trying to slow her breathing but it wasn't working. She had come to New Orleans to protect her sister and she couldn't even do that. She promised Hayley she would be okay. She promised that everything would be fine. And she wasn't even here to save her. Hayley died alone. Sure, Klaus was here but Grace was her family. Frustration fills her body as she practically trembles, her eyes opening.
She grabs one of the chairs near the front, screaming as she threw it against the wall causing it to break into pieces. Grace grabs one of the broken wood pieces, using it to hit the table next to her. Creating holes and scrapes in it, she felt her arms hitting the damaged furniture. Elijah glanced over at her, seeing the blood runs down her arms as the cuts form from the wood scraping at her skin. He glanced down at Klaus who just had his eyes closed, his head down. Elijah moves over to Grace who was shaking, sobs racking her body as she drops the wood to the floor.
Elijah rests his hand on her shoulder but she only flinches away from him. She bends over, her breathing heavy as she clutched her stomach. Grace was trying to catch her breath but she couldn't seem to. Everything was hitting her at once and it just seemed to feel worse and worse. She couldn't even glance back at Hayley, she wouldn't see her sister like that. Tears streamed down her cheek as she stood up, bringing her hand to her mouth.
Grace couldn't handle this. She couldn't survive with Hayley being gone. And the worst part of it all, she didn't even get to say goodbye. But death often didn't allow you to. It happens when you least expect it, taking you by storm and ripping away all of the happiness from you. Leaving an empty void inside of you, in your heart. In your life.
She lets out an agonizing scream, echoing the walls of the church. Grace falls back against Elijah, allowing him to hold her as she completely collapsed in his grasp. Elijah holds her tightly, allowing her to break down in his arms. He was also grieving, his heart was also torn out but he knew how close they were. They had years together and now that was all gone. Elijah would comfort her before allowing himself to break down aswell. Because she needed someone to be there for here. She needed someone to hold her as the scene in front of her became real. As she accepted the fact of what had just happened.
Her sister was dead.

as soon as the witches slit her throat, Hayley was a hundred percent in the right to kill them.
