REBEKAH MOANS AS SHE TILTS HER HEAD BACK, her eyes squeezing shut as her mouth parts open. She bites her bottom lip as she breathes heavily, seeing Grace come up from underneath the sheets. The Marshall girl just smirks at her before kissing her. Rebekah furrows her eyebrows, kissing her back roughly before they pull away from each other. Grace meets her eyes, offering a smile as she sees the blissful expression on the originals face. "You're really heading off?" Grace asks as she lets her fingers trace the skin on Rebekah's hip bone. The girl lets out a sigh, licking her bottom lip as she nods her head.
"It's for the best." Rebekah admits as she glanced down at her hand. Grace nods her head, she did understand why she was leaving, she didn't think anyone had the right to try and force her to stay.
"Well, in the short time that I've known you, I think you're making the right choice." Grace tells her and Rebekah lifts her eyes to meet hers, a small frown on her face as she looks at her curiously "Family doesn't mean you have to suffer in silence." She states as she rubs the girls skin softly. Rebekah loved her brothers, Grace could see that. But there was always a limit and if it was pushed too much, there was a chance the relationship couldn't be mended anymore because every push caused a crack. And once it cracked enough, it would break.
"How'd you end up with Hayley, anyways?" Rebekah asks, wondering how they became sisters when they weren't related. Neither Hayley or Grace had mentioned it to them. Grace didn't like telling her life story to just anyone, sure she liked Rebekah but she didn't trust her quite yet.
"That's a story for when you come back to visit." Grace says with a smirk playing on her lips. Rebekah raises an eyebrow at her as she rests herself on her elbow.
"Oh, I'm visiting now am I?" Rebekah asks curiously and grace only nods her head as she crawls on top of the original.
"I think you will." Grace replies before connecting their lips in a deep kiss. Rebekah moans as she lifts her hand into the girls hair. Grace runs her fingers along Rebekahs thigh, her tongue entering her mouth.
"Hm." Rebekah sighs before pulling away reluctantly from the blonde. She bites her lip as she gazes up at Grace. "I should go, say goodbye to everyone." She tells her and Grace only nods as she rolls off of her. Grace holds the sheet to her body as she watches Rebekah redress herself.
"I'm sure their goodbye won't be as amazing as this one." She points out with a knowing look on her face and Rebekah only shakes her head, a smile on her lips. She pulls on her jacket, looking at Grace again who was resting on her side just gazing at her.
"Take care of your sister and her little demon spawn." Rebekah says in a soft tone as she truly did care about Hayley and her niece. She might have tried to hide it at first but now she would kill anyone who tried to harm them.
"I will." Grace replies as she nods her head. She would make sure that Hayley was okay, and when the baby is born, she'll make sure that she has everything she needs to take care of it. Even if she will be raising it with a literal psychopath.
"Goodbye, Grace." Rebekah says, waving lightly before exiting the room. Grace lets out a sigh as she rolls onto her back, staring up at the ceiling. She was happy that Rebekah decided to do what was best for her. Grace respected that. Their situations might not have been similar but she could see a toxic situation heading south. Rebekah felt the need to leave before it sucked her in. Grace was the same way. She just hoped Rebekah could find the happiness that she was desperately looking for.
GRACE HAD SPENT AT LEAST TEN MINUTES ROAMING THE HOUSE AS SHE LOOKED FOR HER SISTER. She had returned home from the store with some pickles since Hayley was craving them, only for the girl to have suddenly vanished into thin air. "Hayley?" She calls out as she makes it to the living room. A groan leaves her lips as she tilts her head back. "Hayley, are you here?" Grace asks, maybe Hayley had stepped outside for a walk but then again, she wouldn't risk it right now.
"Grace." Elijah's voice comes from behind her making her turn around quickly. She is faced with the original who looks a little bit confused.
"Elijah, I can't find Hayley anywhere." Grace tells him, worry seeping through her tone as she was starting to believe that something has happened to her. Elijah clenches his jaw, taking a glance around the room before taking out his phone. He presses Rebekah's contact before putting the phone to his ear.
"Is she with you?" Elijah asks as he rubs his forehead, hearing Rebekah reply. "Hayley, she's gone." He tells her before looking towards the door where Klaus had just entered. He didn't exactly look pleased as he leant against the door frame.
"Marcel was here." Klaus tells them making Elijah's face drop as he moves the phone down from his ear. Grace sighs as she crosses her arms against her chest.
"How did he even find us?" She questions as she knew Marcel was the leader and all, but she knew Hayley was careful. They all were.
"I have no idea." Klaus replies as he clenches his jaw. Grace turns her attention to Elijah, glaring at him.
"You said you were going to protect her, Elijah." Grace says as she was told by the original himself that he would keep her safe. Grace couldn't be around twenty four seven and before she even got to New Orleans, they let countless things happen to her.
"I am, I will." He assures her but Grace only lets out a scoff, not believing a word that came out of his mouth.
"It doesn't look like it to me, because while my sister has been under your care, she has been attacked numerous times." She points out as she presses her finger to his chest. Elijah clenches his jaw but he can see where he anger is coming from.
"I will get her back." Elijah promises her and she nods her head, although she wasnt going to leave her sisters life in the hands of these two.
"Then, I'm coming with you." Grace tells him as she pulls the gun out of the waistband of her pants where it was hidden. She always thought to have it on her, just in case. After all, she was in a town crawling with vampires.
"A gun won't kill him." Elijah states as he gestures to what she was holding. Grace only smirks, turning off the safety.
"No." She says as she looks up at him with a risen eyebrow. "But it damn sure will hurt like hell." Grace points out as vampires weren't immune to pain, even ones as old as Marcel. Elijah sighs as he closes his eyes briefly.
"Just let us talk to him first." He suggests and Grace just stared at him for a moment. These two were supposed to be big bad originals, vampires, you know the people who kill first, ask questions later.
"Talk?" Grace asks with her eyebrow raised as she places her hand on her hip. She knew Elijah was noble and everything but there was a time and place to talk and this was neither the time nor the place. "Your big plan is to talk to him?" She says with a scoff as she glanced towards Klaus who also didn't seem to care much for talking.
"And what do you suggest we do?" Elijah asks her curiously and Grace only shrugs her shoulders. She knew one way to get information out of anyone, she was a lawyer after all. Grace has heard some very interesting interrogation stories.
"There are other ways to get him to give us back Hayley." She replies bluntly as she holds up the gun. It definitely will come in handy with vampires since they won't die from a bullet wound. But hit them just right and they'll be in agonizing pain.
"I thought lawyers were meant to do no harm?" Elijah asks with furrowed eyebrows. When he met the girl, he didn't think she would turn out to be this type of person. But Hayley was very dear to her and Grace would do anything to save her.
"That is what doctors are told. I seek justice." She says as she loads the gun, meeting Elijah's eyes and she takes a step closer to him, her eyes turning a little darker. "And if Marcel has hurt one hair on her head, I will kill him." Grace states as she goes to turn around but Elijah didn't need the girl getting herself into trouble either. Marcel wasn't just someone she could take down easily.
"Marcel is a vampire, you can't just-" Elijah had put his hand on her which made her rip her arm away from his touch. She glares at him, her gaze sharp.
"Don't you dare lay a hand on me." Her voice was harsh as she sneered at the original in front of her. Grace turns her head to Klaus who was just watching the interaction. "Are you with me?" She asks him, raising her eyebrow up and he only crosses his arms against his chest.
"It's my child." Klaus replies as he stares back at the woman. Grace just nods before moving past the original and heading for the door. No one can take Hayley and get away with it. Not on her watch.
MARCEL WAS STOOD ON THE BALCONY, overseeing his vampires as he held the annual fight night that would result in someone becoming a member of his inner circle. Someone had just won the first fight, making the crowd cheer lightly as he smirks down at them. But suddenly the woman was dead on the floor making the crowd go silent. Marcel furrows his eyebrows, glancing around until he landed his eyes on Klaus making his way out into the open. "Good evening. I'd like a word." Klaus announces as he looks up at Marcel who was pissed off that he interrupted them.
"What do you think you're doing?" Marcel asks him, his voice sharp as he watched the original only smirk.
"It appears, that we've interrupted a collection of filthy amateurs." Elijah's voice echoes throughout the courtyard as he makes his way through the crowd. "We've come here for the girl, give her to us or we kill everyone here." He states as he stops next to his brother before turning his gaze up at Marcel. "Starting with you." Elijah says, his voice firm but Marcel only scoffs, shaking his head.
"You two got a lot of nerve coming into my home and making demands." Marcel points out but Grace only smirks, letting out a laugh as she stops next to Klaus, placing a hand on her hip.
"Three." She announces and Marcel was confused for a moment before he saw the blonde. He laughs, smirking down at the woman who he knew for a fact was human.
"And what do you expect to do to me, hm." Marcel asks, his voice full of humour as he rests his hands on the bars in front of him. Grace knew he was underestimating her, that's what vampires tended to do with humans.
"Humans and vampires are alike in many ways. They both feel pain, agony.. you may be faster than me but I'm pissed off." Grace states, her voice hostile as she glares up at Marcel who's smirk faltered lightly. "And you do not want to mess with me." She tells him, she didn't care how many years he has been alive. It didn't matter to her because she would hurt him all the same.
"Your home, is it?" Klaus says, deciding to change the subject because he didn't need Marcel taking his anger out on the girl next to him.
"The girl!" Elijah says loudly making Marcel glance at him. "I will not ask again." He states, tilting his head as he clasps his hands together.
"I assume you're talking about Hayley?" Marcel asks as he raises an eyebrow at the original. "Yay high, dark hair, bitchy attitude." He names out as he holds his hand out making Grace roll her eyes. "Who is she anyways." He asks as he looks towards them curiously.
"My sister." Grace responds making Marcel be slightly taken aback by her answer. "So, you see why I'm so eager to get her back." She adds, anyone would know how much family would do to get the people they love back. Marcel knows that all too well because of the originals.
"You know how sentimental I am about family, Marcel." Klaus states as he puts his hand on Grace's shoulder. But immediately he retreats it when he sees the deadly expression on her face. She may be human but for some reason, she could scare him.
"Well, I ain't got her. And before you start whining, I did pay her a little visit last night." Marcel says as he leans against the bars in front of him. Grace clenches her jaw as she crosses her arms against her chest. "I was feeling nostalgic. So, I took a little trip out to the plantation where I used to be a slave." He states, looking towards Klaus as he said it. This makes Grace raise her eyebrows, looking a little bit surprised for a moment. "And imagine my surprise when I realized that the original family of vampires had taken up residence. Your girl Hayley answered the door. We exchanged hellos. That was it." He tells them but he could see the looks on their faces telling him that they weren't trusting what he was saying. "You don't believe me, look around. Hell, I'll even help you find her." Marcel says as he lifts his hands up. "But the question i'd ask is, if Hayley isn't here? Then where is she?" He asks, a smirk forming on his face. Grace only glares up at him, seeing the smug look that he had. So, before anyone can move, Marcel is sent flying back by a bullet that hit his chest. The crowd turns to the culprit, seeing Grace holding her gun with one hand, a void expression on her face. Grace sees both of the originals staring at her slightly surprised.
"He talks too much." Grace states as she puts the gun back in her waistband. Klaus perks his eyebrow up at her but there was a clear smirk on his face. He was liking the woman more and more everyday. She saw the look Elijah was giving her and she only shrugs her shoulders. "He's lucky it wasnt a wooden bullet." She says before walking past the crowd of vampires, not even flinching as some of them hissed at her.
THE GROUP SAT IN THE COURTYARD AFTER ALL OF THE VAMPIRES CLEARED OUT. Grace was only tapping her foot against the ground as she wanted to keep searching for her sister but they insisted that Marcel may be able to help. "Not the most attractive community, are they?" Elijah asks as he looks around the space as Klaus only chuckles.
"You do realize they can hear you?" Klaus points out but Elijah only shrugs his shoulders.
"You do realize, I don't care." Elijah retorts as he picks up his glass that he had poured some alcohol into. Klaus moves his eyes to Grace who was impatiently tapping her finger against her thigh.
"You know, love. I think I like this side of you better." Klaus says as he smirks at her. Grace only slowly turns her eyes to him, squinting them.
"The only reason you haven't gotten a bullet in your head is because I want to find my sister." She retorts with an unamused expression. She couldn't care less if he liked her or not, it wasn't what she came to New Orleans to do.
"You really don't like me, do you?" He asks curiously and she only gasps, putting her hand on her chest.
"Whatever gave you that impression?" Grace questions before her expression turns void as she looks back in front of her. By then, Marcel was making his way over to them.
"You know, Elijah. I liked you better in that box." Marcel tells him as he points to the original before he looks towards Grace and he didn't look particularly happy. "And you." He states but he sees the smirk that forms on her lips as she only raises an eyebrow at him. "You try anything like that again-" He starts but she only cuts him off, did he honestly believe that she cared what he had to say?
"You'll kill me?" She finishes for him making the man glare at her. "Oh, honey. You'll have to be a lot more threatening than that for me to be scared." Grace says as she crosses her arms against her chest. Both originals were certainly shocked by the way she so carelessly talked to the vampire.
"Klaus, my sire, you I owe the world, and I always show respect to my elders." Marcel says as he puts his hand on his chest and Klaus only gives a small smirk. Grace looks towards him, just now putting it together that Klaus had been the one to turn Marcel. She had just arrived in New Orleans so she was still piecing everything together. "If your special lady friend is missing, you could benefit from the help of a witch.nAnd since I control all the witches in this town, I'll grant you one little locator spell." Marcel states as he gestures for someone to be brought in. Grace watches as a woman is forced into the courtyard by a few vampires. "Sabine is the best guide in the quarter. You need to find someone, I guarantee she's your girl." He tells them and Klaus notices that Marcel was about to turn away from them.
"Where are you going?" Klaus asks as Marcel just stops, letting out a small chuckle.
"I hate to cut this short but the sun is coming up soon. My nightwalkers need to get inside and I've got a city to run." He explains to them as he backs away from the trio. "I'll leave you to track down your lost sheep." He says with a smirk before walking away from them. Grace sighs as she looks towards the witch.
"Can you find her?" Elijah asks curiously and Sabine only licks her bottom lip.
"I can try." Sabine responds with a sigh as she looks towards the originals. Grace hoped that she could because every minute that they weren't looking for her, was another that Hayley could be hurt.
IT HAD TURNED TO DAYLIGHT BY THE TIME SABINE HAD THE MAP IN FRONT OF HER AND WAS STARTING THE LOCATOR SPELL. Grace was standing next to Elijah as she bit the inside of her cheek. Sabine thinks about something before looking towards the blonde curiously. "She's your sister, correct?" Sabine asks and grace just nods her head, she didn't see how she would be much help though.
"Yeah, but not by blood." Grace points out but Sabine only shakes her head.
"Your connection might be strong enough anyways." She says as she stares at the girl who was still a bit hesitant. "I need your hand." Sabine tells her and Grace gives it to her, if she could possibly help in finding the girl, she would do whatever it took. Sabine cuts her hand making the woman clench her jaw as the blood dripped onto the map. It starts spreading to a certain place. "She's in the back country. Way out past Houma, deep in the Bayou." Sabine tells them and Elijah only sighs as he crosses his arms against his chest.
"I don't suppose you could be more precise." Elijah asks as Sabine just lightly glares at him. She was doing the best she could, especially since Marcel forbade them from practicing magic.
"Whats the matter, Elijah? Worried a little splashing around in the bog might ruin your expensive shoes?" Klaus asks as he gestures to the man's feet.
"As a matter of fact, after my recent confinement, I could use a decent stroll through the countryside." Elijah replies as he could tell that Klaus was just trying to rile him up.
"There are stories of exiled werewolves, encampments." Sabine says, catching their attention once again. "If Hayley went out that far, chances are she went out to find them." She states and it did make sense to Grace but it didn't make sense why she would go without saying anything to her.
"Cleary, she hopes to make the acquaintance of more like herself, I suppose our company wasnt good enough for her." Klaus taunts his brother who only glares at him.
"She's always wanted to help other werewolves." Grace points out as she remembered Hayley's trip to the mountains to help the pack of wolves. "But she wouldn't just leave in the middle of the night to do so." She states as she thinks to herself. She knew something more was going on, it had to be.
This is what lead them to be in the middle of the woods, looking around the area as they hoped that Hayley was close by. Well, grace did because she didn't really want to walk for hours. She loved her sister but she hated the woods. "How long have you been her sister?" Elijah suddenly asks making Grace turn her head towards the original. She knew he was only curious but she didn't really care enough to enlighten them too much on her life.
"Since I was fifteen." She replies bluntly as she pulls her jacket on, feeling a wind chill
"May I ask how it came to be?" Elijah asks and she only rolls her eyes, she turns her head to him.
"No, you may not." Grace replies before letting out a sigh. "We're wasting time." She didn't need to be answering his questions, right now they needed to find her sister.
"We should head south towards the water." Elijah suggests as he points in a certain correction but Klaus only raises an eyebrow.
"You seem quite determined to find the little wolf." Klaus points out as Elijah walks away from the car.
"If I'm moving to fast for you, Niklaus, you're welcome to wait in the car." Elijah tells him as he continues walking forward. "Do be certain to leave the windows down." He states and Klaus only laughs, shaking his head.
"Ah, so I've touched a nerve. You've come to admire this girl. Perhaps that's why you've been barking orders since your return. Hoping to impress Hayley by assuming the role of family patriarch." Klaus explains to him and Elijah only rolls his eyes as he turns back to face his brother.
"If you want to insist on treating her like a walking incubator, then that's your mistake." Elijah retorts as he knew Klaus didn't care for Hayley, it was just the fact that she was carrying his child. "Have you found her scent?" He asks when he notices Klaus had turned his head suddenly.
"No, but I found someone else's." Klaus points out as he stares at the truck before his eyes move to Grace who was heading down the hill. "Love, that's not the right way." He tells her and Grace only leans her head back as she stops in her step. She turns to face them, an annoyed look on her face.
"Well, maybe if you all stopped gossiping, we would actually get somewhere." Grace says she wanders over to the truck where Elijah and Klaus were already standing.
"This car reeks of someone I thought I was rid of." Klaus says before turning to the two of them. Grace raises an eyebrow, it wasn't a shock to her that he was the reason Hayley was taken. "Tyler Lockwood." He states making Elijah sigh as he looks down at the ground.
"Who?" Grace asks, not knowing who he was talking about.
"And why would your little hybrid sidekick from Mystic falls have any interest in Hayley?" Elijah asks and Grace only crosses her arms against her chest.
"He wants revenge because I went after his girl." Klaus says with a small smirk as he walks past his brother.
"Why do I suspect this is the least of your offenses?" He asks Klaus.
"Yeah, I mean. Who would choose you of all people?" Grace asks as she gives a smug look to the hybrid who only glares at her for a moment.
"Back when I had the means to sire hybrids, he was my first. Although I didn't give him much choice in the matter." Klaus starts as he moves towards the back of the truck. "He was loyal in the beginning, he grew insubordinate, and turned my other hybrids against me. I couldn't have that." He says as Elijah and Grace simple watch him. "So, I massacred the lot of them." Klaus says making Grace's eyes widen. Sure, she knew they had killed people but he just easily did it without any sense of remorse. "Tyler ran like a coward before I could finish him off." He states but Elijah only squints his eyes, he knew there was something that Klaus was not telling him.
"Anything else that you would like to share?" Elijah asks him curiously and Klaus only shrugs his shoulders.
"Well, there was this business with his mum." Klaus starts as he smirks to himself and Elijah already knew what happened.
"You killed his mother, wonderful." Elijah says with a sigh making Grace clench her jaw as she turns her eyes to Klaus.
"Do you take requests?" Grace asks, raising an eyebrow. She was joking but honestly, she wouldn't be against it if the hybrid payed a visit to her father.
"Am I no longer on your hatred list?" Klaus asks her curiously, moving closer to her and she only laughs, pressing her hand against his chest.
"Oh, no. You're still on it. This is just a.. mutual beneficial agreement." Grace tells him and Klaus only shakes his head with a smile before he looks back at Elijah, his face turning serious once again.
"He needed to be taught a lesson." Klaus says making Elijah sighs as he clenches his jaw.
"And what lesson will you be taught, Niklaus, if he retaliates by harming Hayley?" Elijah asks him and Klaus only chuckles.
"So, you do care about her." He points out making Elijah roll his eyes, it seemed that the child she was carrying had no affect. "Well, go on then. Have at it, brother. Save her. Claim what spoils you can. I've sampled what she has to offer and let me tell you, she is exquisite -" Klaus says, smirking lightly at his brother. Grace rolls her eyes, resting her hand on her hip.
"Niklaus, so help me-' Elijah has his fists clenched, his eyes closing as he could feel the anger building up inside of him.
"Enough." Klaus snaps as he takes a step closer to Elijah. Grace was just watching the interaction, she knew Klaus was angry but he didn't have to bring Hayley into it. "I'll kill Tyler Lockwood myself." He says as he clenches his jaw. Suddenly, something hard hits the back of his head making his eyes wide. He turns his head, seeing Grace only standing there with an innocent look on her face. "Did you just hit me?" Klaus asks, he was slightly amused but given that he was still pissed, he had to restrain himself. Although, if it was anyone else, their heart would be out of their chest.
"You shouldn't talk about my sister like she's an object." Grace says before heading off into the woods. Klaus only stares at her, his mouth slightly parted. Elijah only smirks to himself before following after her.
HAYLEY HAD HER BACK AGAINST A TREE, the knife in her hand as she breathes heavily. She had escaped from Tyler when the hybrid had attacked him and she ran as fast as she could. She tried to keep her heartbeat steady but she heard a branch snap beside her. Her eyes widen as she braces herself before she quickly turns, swinging the knife. Grace catches her arm, raising an eyebrow at the brunette. "Woah, there sugar." She says with a smile on her face and Hayley let's out a sigh of relief.
"Grace." Hayley jumps into her arms, closing her eyes as she holds onto her tightly. Grace hugs her back, feeling her stomach finally get rid of the twist it had just thinking that she was hurt.
"Oh thank god." She mumbles as she rubs the girls back before pulling away from her.
"Looks like you did pretty fine on your own." Elijah points out making Hayley look towards him.
"Elijah." She breathes out as she hugs him aswell. The original was a little taken aback but let her. "God, you two will not believe the crap day that I'm having." She says and Grace only laughs, taking a look at the girls appearance.
"I'll believe it. You look like crap." Grace points out making Hayley roll her eyes playfully before looking at the original.
"There's something you need to know about the baby." She says and Elijah looks at her curiously. Hayley only takes a deep breath, her eyes showing about every emotion possible. "It can turn werewolves into hybrids." Hayley states and Elijah's face was one of shock. He knew that there could be a possibility that the baby would be a werewolf but being able to create hybrids?
"What?" Elijah asks.
"Yeah, Tyler took some of my blood and injected it into his friend and he became one." Hayley explains to him and Grace raises an eyebrow.
"So your baby really is a demon spawn." Grace states making Hayley not look too amused before she shakes her head.
"Klaus must of known. He doesn't care about the baby. He just wants her to be born so he can use her to make more sired hybrids." Hayley tells them and Elijah just listens to her. "Although, the way that Dwayne was acting.. it was more like he was sired to me." She states with furrowed eyebrows. Dwayne had listened to her inside of Tyler but she still didn't quite understand it all.
"I should take you home." Elijah says as he knew the girl needed her rest.
"Are you serious? Home to what?" Hayley asks with a scoff as she didn't exactly feel safe there anymore after everything she learned.
"Look, regardless of my brother's intentions, mine remain the same. I said that I would protect you, even if need be, from Klaus himself." Elijah explains to Hayley who only crosses her arms against her chest.
"I can take care of myself. I have Grace. We've done it for a long time." Hayley points out but Elijah shakes his head. That might not be enough, even if Grace wasn't afraid of Klaus.
"Let's just go find my brother." Elijah tells them as he walks behind the two girls as they head in the direction of the cabin that Hayley had just left.
When they arrived, they saw Klaus dragging a body out of the cabin. Grace assumed it was the newly turned hybrid that Hayley mentioned. "There you are. I see you've found out wandering stray. Perhaps she could shed some light on the situation." Klaus says as he gestures to the body that he drops down on the porch. "This would appear to be the body of a hybrid." He states as he flickers his eyes between the group.
"His name was Dwayne." Hayley corrects him and Klaus couldn't care less what his name was.
"Well, whoever he was, I didn't sire him. Any idea how that's possible?" He asks making Hayley scoff as she goes to move towards Klaus.
"As if you didn't know." She snaps but Elijah grabs her arm to stop her. He steps protectively in front of her making Klaus smirk, shaking his head.
"Well aren't you two fast friends." Klaus points out as he stares at Elijah. "Well, come on then. What kind of horrible accusations have you conspired to levy against me?" He asks as he crosses his arms against his chest.
"Tyler Lockwood brought Hayley here to test a theory, the the blood of her child could be used to sire hybrids. He claims you knew that." Elijah explains as when they were heading to Klaus, Hayley told them all of what Tyler had said to her. "Furthermore, you intended to use this knowledge to build an army." He states and Klaus just scoffs, his face showing anger as he looked at his brother.
"And of course you assume it's true." Klaus says as he clenches his fists. "I mean, why else would I show any interest in my own flesh and blood?" He asks making Elijah only stare back at him blankly. "A heartbroken little crybaby points his finger at me and my own brother falls in line, eager to believe it. How quickly you assume the worst. Especially when it comes from her." Klaus sneers as he gestures towards Hayley who was just glaring angrily at the man.
"Oh spare me your indignation. When have you ever demonstrated any kind of concern towards Hayley or her child beyond your own selfish pursuits, and what was it you once said to me? Every king needs an heir." Elijah says as he squints his eyes but Klaus only laughs, although it was humourless.
"My big brother, so you doubt my intentions? Well, I cant say I'm surprised." Klaus admits as he moves down the steps, biting the inside of his cheek. "Standing beside the noble Elijah, how can I be anything but the lesser brother. A liar, a manipulator. A bastard." He says, his voice lower when he finished the sentence. Grace kind of felt bad for the man but she knew that whatever people thought of him was his own fault. "That's all I am to you, isn't it? And to Rebekah. And judging by the way Hayley hangs on your every word, it's clear she feels the same way." Klaus states as he gestures to the wolf before his eyes move to Grace. "Grace forms her own opinions but it's clear she's made up her mind about me being a monster. No doubt my child will, as well." Klaus finishes, and Elijah only sighs, he wasn't trying to start a fight with him or call him a monster. He was never going to stop fighting for his brothers salvation.
"Brother-" Elijah says but Klaus only shakes his head, cutting the man off.
"We have said all that has needed to be said.. brother." Klaus says, his voice harsh as he says brother. He contemplates something before shaking his head. "I'll play the role I've been given." Suddenly, Klaus was biting into Elijah's neck making the two girls gasp. Grace's eyes were wide open as she had known that the supernatural existed but she's never actually seen it happen. Klaus pulls back, smirking as Hayley grabs a hold of Elijah. "You three enjoy each other's company. You'll have much to bond over once the hallucinations and dementia set in." He explains as he backs away from them. "Consider that bite a parting gift to you all." And with that, Klaus walks past them, leaving them to deal with Elijah. Grace sighs, moving her eyes to her sister before deciding to follow after Klaus.
It was not like she didn't agree with everything Elijah said, but she saw part of herself in Klaus. The part that was trying to heal from the pain of his past, his own family being the main reason for it. He needed to realize that he was actually lucky to have Elijah who seemed to be by his side no matter what. No matter what the man did.
"Klaus." She calls out as she walks after him and she could hear the sigh that leaves his lips as he stops walking.
"Come to make another comment on my psycho tendencies?" Klaus asks as he turns around to face her. Grace sighs, she knew how she was acting around him but she decided to put it aside for at least a second.
"No." Grace says as she puts her hands in her pockets before taking a few steps towards him. "Look.. I get being the outcast of your family. Nothing I did ever appeased my father enough, I was always the one to blame." She tells him and klaus only furrows his eyebrows. He crosses his arms against his chest.
"And why are you telling me this? You hate me." Klaus points out as she has made her opinion very heard towards him. Grace moves her mouth to the side, shrugging her shoulders.
"Hate is a strong word. I prefer strongly dislike." She retorts making a faint smile form on the hybrids lips as he looks down at his feet. "I'm not saying I will call a truce." Grace admits as she really wasn't looking to be friends with the man. "I'm just saying that you don't have to be that monster that everyone perceives you to be." She states as she shrugs her shoulders. Klaus let himself get angry when people called him a monster, and yet he never did anything to actually change people's minds.
"Everyone's already made up their minds about me, so why not just go along with it." Klaus says as he goes to turn around but Grace wasn't done talking to him yet.
"If you do, then your daughter growing to hate you aswell will only be your own fault." Her voice was harsh but she had to get her point across, Klaus didn't strike her as a person who usually listens. "She hasn't even been born yet, Klaus." She tells him and Klaus clenches his jaw as he looks away from her. "And when she is, she won't have any perceptions of you or hatred in her blood. Your baby will only see you for what you show her. So, if you want to have your baby grow apart from you and wish she had anybody else as a father, then please, continue being the person that you are." She says, she wasn't going to sugar coat it for him and she didn't have to. He was old and he understood consequences, at least he should be now. "Or, you can be the father that you want to be for her. And build up your own image in her eyes." Grace tells him and he moves his eyes to the ground, still listening to what she was saying but Klaus never really looked at it this way. He was just so used to playing the villain that everybody already saw. "Because trust me, a bad father is worse than an absent one. As someone who spent her whole life being resented by her father and seeing the monster that he truly is.. I would have given anything to have no father at all." She states as she clenches her jaw, biting the inside of her cheek. Grace could see the flicker of remorse in Klaus' eyes but she didn't think too much of it because he didn't seem the type to care. "I hope you make the right choice." Grace says, letting out a sigh before moving past the original and heading back through the woods.
She knew Klaus was beating himself up but he has to understand that the way his child will see him, solely relies on how he acts.
