GRACE WAS SAT AT THE TABLE IN HER ROOM, her eyes staring at the missed calls she had recieved from Jenna. She hadnt meant to miss them, she was just so busy ever since she got to New Orleans. So she decided to call her back even though she knew the girl would be mad.

Jenna Harrington was someone who she had met through work. She was a lawyer as well and as soon as the two met, they had instantly clicked. Grace didn't know what it was about Jenna but the woman had a very likable personality. She was funny, charismatic, an actual genuine human being. And she also was not afraid to give attitude to anyone who tried to undermine her. Most people called her a bitch because of it, but Grace thought the opposite. She was practically another version of herself.

"Hey, girl." Grace says once Jenna had picked up the phone. But there was a moment of silence on the other end.

"Grace, kind of you to actually return my calls." Jenna says with an annoyed tone as she could practically feel her glaring through the phone.

"Sorry, things have been hectic here." She apologizes as she didn't want the girl to think she was avoiding her.

"And why again did you leave me for New Orleans." Jenna asks sassily as she lets out a sigh. Grace laughs lightly, biting the inside of her cheek.

"I didn't leave you, Jenna. I came to help my sister." Grace points out but Jenna only rolls her eyes.

"And you left me to sort out my wedding on my own." Jenna points out with a long groan as she leans against the back of her chair. "I'm going mad." She states and Grace only laughs, shaking her head. Jenna had been engaged for a few months now and her and Mark were finally planning the wedding which was taking place in June. They had a while before they got there but Jenna loved to have everything precise and ready months in advance.

"I'm still here to help you, I'm guessing Mark isn't exactly being helpful." She suggests as she knew the man wasn't big on trying to make everything perfect.

"He just keeps telling me that he doesn't care where we get married or what table linens we use, he would marry me in a swamp." Jenna mumbles with a sigh as she imitates his voice making Grace only smile.

"That's sweet." She points out, at least that meant that he truly cared for her. He would marry her anywhere but she knew he would do the big wedding because that's what Jenna wants.

"But i want our wedding to be elegant, spontaneous." Jenna says with a sigh as she scowls.ย  "Better than that bitch, Eve's wedding." She states with a harsh tone making Grace smirk to herself for a moment. Eve was a person that everyone hated in the office. Hayley never even met her and even she hated her.

Eve was the kind of person who was used to getting what she wanted, so if she didn't, she would literally whine like a toddler and try and act all cute which was incredibly annoying. She tries to ruin everyone's relationships by getting with their man. Eve tried it with Mark and of course he shut her down because he is so in love with Jenna. But when Jenna found out, Eve obviously tried to play the victim and say that Mark came onto her. No one knows how she ended up with such a sweet husband like the one she has now. It was obviously because she's a manipulative little cunt. Who no doubt is cheating on him with half of new York. So, it's safe to say that if Grace could offer one person to Satan to sacrifice, it would be Eve.

"Send me pictures and I'll help you pick things out." Grace says as she knew how to plan a wedding, she just often got bored if it took too long. Who cares what type of flowers you have? But Jenna really looked forward to her wedding so Grace knew it was important for her.

"This is why you're my favourite person." Jenna admits making Grace laugh, a smile on her lips before she brings her hand up to rub her eyes.

"Did you take a look at the case I sent you?" She asks as she had asked Jenna for a second opinion, maybe to pairs of eyes were better than one.

"Yeah, I made all the same connections as you but I can't figure it out either." Jenna admits as she had spent the night trying to find something that Grace didn't but everytime she looked at the notes, she saw the the girl had already found it out.

"It was a revolver that killed him but there was not one found on the scene, in his car or on him when he was arrested." Grace says as she shakes her head.

"Maybe he had a second place?" Jenna suggests as it was possible that's where he hid the gun. Well, she was being optimistic because if he had thrown the gun off of a bridge, they would never recover it.

"I don't know.." Grace tried to find something else under his name but nothing had come up. "It's just keeping me up at night. I want that mother and daughter to get justice." She admits as she rests back on the chair. She knew the mother and daughter would never truly be at peace until the father was convicted.

"We all do." Jenna says with a sigh as she knew how hard Grace had been working on the case. "I gotta go, I have a meeting." She states, not wanting to end the call but she knew she had to otherwise their boss would get mad at her. "But do not take three days to call me back again." She threatens as she rests her head in her hands. Grace laughs lightly as she bites the inside of her cheek.

"I won't." Grace tells her, she knew if she did, Jenna would physically come to New Orleans to argue with her about it.

"Love you boo." Jenna says, making a kiss noise through the phone. Grace playfully rolls her eyes as she brushes a hand through her hair.

"Love you too." She replies with a smile before the call ended. Grace shakes her head, setting her phone back on the table before focusing on what she had been doing prior.

WALKING INTO THE PARLOR, Grace noticed that Klaus was standing by the window, a glass in his hand. "Are they still not back yet?" Grace asks, referring to her sister and Elijah who were most likely still at the cabin. If Elijah's wounds took a day to heal, then he definitely wasn't close to healing yet.

"Elijah's probably suffering and poor Hayley doesn't want to leave his side." Klaus retorts as he takes a drink, turning his head to the blonde. Grace raises her eyebrows as she knew he still didn't care about how others perceived him.

"I see my words really stuck with you." Grace says as she moves over to him and Klaus only shrugs his shoulders.

"Rebekah is plotting against me. Elijah is plotting against me. I have to deal with all this yet again." Klaus tells her as he has once again had to put an end to his siblings schemes against him.

"Why do you think everyone is out to get you?" She asks, genuinely curious as he seemed to pick a fight over the smallest little things. You'd think after a thousand years, he would learn to not taking everything to heart.

"Because it's usually true." He tells her and she nods her head before she takes a step towards him.

"What if I'm plotting against you?" Grace asks as she wiggles her eyebrows at him. Klaus only glanced at her, shrugging his shoulders.

"You seem like the type that would tell me you were going to kill me before actually doing it." He replies and Grace smirks as she nods her head at him. He could say some funny things, at times. It didn't mean that he as a person was even remotely funny.

"I do make my disliking towards you very evident." Grace points out as that would be something she would do. She then realized he said Rebekah was also plotting against him which made her eyebrows furrow. "I thought Rebekah was leaving?" She asks, she knew the blonde had started to leave town but apparently something must have kept her here.

"Seems she stuck around to plot my demise." Klaus mumbles as he makes his way to the alcohol, grace following behind him.

"Wow, it really sucks to be you." Grace says as she crosses her arms against her chest. Klaus glanced at her curiously, squinting his eyes.

"And why are you still here?" He asks, he would assume that she would have either went to a hotel or stayed with Hayley and Elijah at the cabin.

"I'm here for Hayley." Grace states the obvious, raising an eyebrow as she glanced around the room.

"But Hayley's not here." Klaus points out making Grace sigh a little bit. He always had to look for some sort of alterior motive.

"You know what I mean." Grace replies with a roll of her eyes but Klaus only smirks, tilting his head. He knew Elijah and Rebekah weren't staying at the house any longer so why was she.

"And you know what I mean." He retorts as he gazes at her. Grace only raises an eyebrow before she gestures beside them.

"You have a decent alcohol selection." Grace tells him as she opens a bottle of wine, grabbing a glass and pouring it in.

"Hm." Klaus hums as he takes a step closer to her. Grace noticed this, turning her head back to him and tilting her head. She had an expectant look on her face, she knew he wanted something.

"Do you need something?" She asks sassily as she places her hand on her hip. Klaus only smirks, his tongue running over his bottom lip.

"Maybe what I need is to release some of this pent up energy." He suggests and Grace only stares at him for a moment. She knew he was referring to sex which made her grimace. The blonde only takes a step towards him and she could see the smugness in his eyes. Grace places her hand on his shoulder, stopping just a mere few inches from his lips.

"I'd rather eat nails and walk across hot coals." Grace retorts bluntly, a disgusted look on her face before she moves past the original. Klaus only squints his eyes as he turns his head, watching as the girl walks out of the room. He clenches his jaw, feeling himself bite the inside of his lip.

Klaus only rolls his eyes before grabbing the bottle of whiskey and sitting down on the chair behind him.

"HEY SUGAR." Grace says as she leans against the pole on the porch. She looks down at Hayley who was just sitting on the steps. The girl glanced back at her, offering a small smile. Hayley and Elijah had gotten back a few hours ago but Grace could see that there was something Hayley was needing to talk about.

"Hey." She replies before looking down at the ground, her arms on her knees. Grace tilts her head, biting the inside of her cheek

"Did you little vacation with Elijah go okay?" She teases the woman who only rolls her eyes playfully as Grace moves over to her sister.

"You know it was anything but a vacation." Hayley replies as she shakes her head. Grace smirks as she sits down beside the girl, turning her head.

"I know, but i see the way he looks at you." Grace points out, it was obvious that Elijah cared for Hayley, maybe in more ways than one. Hayley only furrows her eyebrows, shaking her head.

"He doesn't look at me in any way." She denies but Grace knew she was just trying to tell her what she wanted to hear. Hayley sighs, her jaw clenching. "I met someone, from my family." Hayley tells her making Grace's eyes widen slightly.

"What?" Grace asks, confused on how that was even possible. Hayley spent so long looking for them and then all of sudden they appear now?

"A woman dropped off a bible on the doorstep and then came back and spoke to me. She has the same... Well had the same birthmark." Hayley tells her as the woman had scarred it so that no one could tell what it was. People with the birth mark were at a huge risk because of Marcel.

"The crescent moon." Grace says and Hayley nods her head.

"Yeah." Hayley responds as she looks down at her hands. Grace only smiles lightly, she knew this meant a lot to her.

"So, you want to find more of your family?" She asks, she knew that's what Hayley had gone to Mystic Falls for but Grace was told that she learned some not so great things.

"It's not that I need them in my life, nothing and no one will ever replace you." Hayley admits as she meets Graces eyes, she felt guilty but Grace knew there was no need to be.

"Oh, I know that. No one can take my place." Grace says with a snort as she shrugs her shoulders. No matter how many family members Hayley found, none of them would be as good as her. Hayley only smiles for a moment, shaking her head before a sigh leaves her lips.

"But I want to know." Hayley admits.

"And you should." Grace replies as she thought that Hayley had every right to go and find her biological family.

"I really appreciate you coming all this way for me, I never say thank you enough." Hayley tells her as she knew it was a lot and she knew that the supernatural world wasn't always the best thing to deal with, especially when you're human.

"You don't need to thank me." Grace admits as she shakes her head. "That's what we do. We're there for each other." She says as she holds the girls hand. Hayley smiles, opening her mouth to say something when the door opens behind them.

"You're coming with me, little wolf." Klaus says as he walks out of the house and past the two sisters. Hayley raises an eyebrow as the man opens the door to the car in front of them.

"And why would I go anywhere with you?" Hayley asks as she would much rather do anything else then go with him. Klaus only gives a tight smile as he meets the wolfs gaze.

"Because Hayley, that child you carry is the only thing on this earth that matters to me." Klaus tells her making Hayley clench her jaw. "Now, you can fight me on this but you will lose." He states before his eyes move to the house. "As will anyone who tries to stop you from getting in this car." He says loudly making Grace furrow her eyebrows. She glanced back towards the house before standing up, noticing that Hayley was walking towards the car.

"Then I'm coming too." Grace states as she looks towards Klaus who only sighs as he gives her an unamused look.

"You're just gonna get in no matter what I say, aren't you?" Klaus asks her and she only tilts her head, placing her hand on her chest.

"Aww, you already know me so well." Grace replies as she gives him a pout, before smirking and moving towards the car. Klaus rolls his eyes but opens the door for her to get inside.

SITTING NEXT TO KLAUS AT THE BIG TABLE THAT WAS FILLED WITH VAMPIRES, she meets Hayley's gaze as the wolf sat at the end. Klaus had split them up which earned a few... Harsh words, to say the least, from Grace. But the original just ignored her and sat down. "Of course, he sits me beside you." She says with a sigh as Grace only turns her head away from her sister, seeing Marcel sat beside her. He gives her a tight smile but she could see the anger lingering in his eyes.

"I think I'm the one allowed to be mad since you shot me." Marcel points out, biting the inside of his cheek as he looked at the girl. Grace only squints her eyes before shrugging her shoulders.

"You deserved it." Grace was not going to apologize for doing what she thought she needed to. Klaus stands up from the table, catching everyone's attention.

"Let us begin with a toast. To our shared gift, immortality." Klaus says as he raises his glass, grace only raises an eyebrow. She didnt understand why people would want to live forever. It seemed that it wasn't all that good to begin with, why would she want to suffer for so long. "After a thousand years, one might expect for life to be less keenly felt, for it's beauties and it's sorrows to diminish with time,ย  but as vampires we feel more deeply than humans could possibly imagine." Klaus gestures for waiters to come in and Grace just glanced at them. "Insatiable need, exquisite pain." The Wailers all cut their wrists, the blood dripping onto the vampire plates making Grace grimace, a disgusted look on her face. "To our victories and our defeats." Klaus says as he looks around. "To my city, my home again. May the blood never cease to flow." He states.

"And the party never end." Marcel adds as he raises his glass as well. Klaus smirks at him before they look at the rest of the table.

"To New Orleans." Diego says as he shares a glance with Marcel.

"To New Orleans." Everyone says but Grace only rolls her eyes as she drinks the wine in her glass, not caring about the stupid toast.

"I understand some of you might have questions regarding the recent change in leadership, and I invited you here tonight to assure you that you are not defeated. No. My intentions moving forward are to celebrate what we have." Klaus explains to them as he sits down, looking towards Marcel and placing his hand on the man's shoulder. "What Marcel, in fact, took and built into this. A true community of vampires." He states and Marcel only slightly smirks but Grace could tell that he was hating every minute of this.

"What about her? The wolf." Diego asks as she looks over at Hayley who only glares back at him.

"Had you let me finish, Diego, you would know that there is,of course,ย  one further matter I would like to address." Klaus says as he stands up from the table and makes his way over to Hayley who was sitting at the other end. "As many as you know, the girl is carrying my child. Consequently, I trust you will all pay her the appropriate respect." He tells them and Hayley only rolls her eyes as she stares down at the table. "However, I know that some of you are concerned by his vicious rumour that I intend to use the blood of our child-" Klaus places his hand on Hayley's shoulders making the wolf glance at it. She has a disgusted look on her face which makes Grace smile. "To create hybrids. I assure you, I do not." He finishes his sentence making Hayley only clench her jaw, meeting Graces gaze.

"Father of the year." Hayley mutters as she shakes her head. Grace smirks as she looks at the original who was only earning weary looks from the group of vampires.

"It appears I have to earn your trust. Very well." Klaus says before moving away from Hayley. "We'll eliminate the root of your anxiety. You see, how can I sire any hybrids if there are no more werewolves alive in the Bayou to turn?" He asks as he stands next to his empty seat, turning his head to the vampire. Hayley's eyes widen as she shakes her head.

"What? Klaus, no." She says but Klaus only ignores her, raising his glass once again.

"So eat, drink and be merry. And tomorrow I suggest you have yourselves a little wolf hunt." Klaus says as he smirks at the vampires who seemed to all be a bit to excited by the news. "Go ahead, have fun. Kill them all." He states and Grace only shakes her head as she looks back at Hayley who was only glaring at the original.

"And is she here as a token of your trust as well?" Diego asks as he gestures to Grace. The blonde meets his eyes, hers squinting lightly as he knew that he was asking if they could feed on her.

"Why don't you come over here and see what happens." Grace threatens the man, her fists clenching together. Klaus didn't seem all to pleased with Diego's comment either.

"Grace, is Hayley's sister. Therefore, no one is to lay a hand on her." Klaus says, his voice harsh as he glares at the vampires. Grace furrows her eyebrows as she listens to the original. "Am I understood." He says firmly and the group just nod their heads. Grace only rolls her eyes as she stands up from the table and walks herself over to Klaus.

"You know, I can fight my own battles." She tells Klaus, raising an eyebrow at him before patting his cheek and moving past him. Grace didn't know what Klaus' game was but she refused to be a pawn.

HAYLEY HAD WALKED INTO THE LIVING ROOM, seeing Grace lounging on the couch. Grace groans when she sees her sister, her eyes rolling. "Why does Klaus feel the need to bother me so often?" Grace asks as she lets out a loud sigh. She could easily avoid the hybrid but it seemed like he had a tendency to purposely try to annoy her.

"Maybe because he wants to force you to like him." Hayley suggests as maybe Klaus thought he could get on her good side if he made friends with Grace. Which was quite impossible to do with the way he was.

"Maybe when hell freezes over." She mutters with a scoff as she couldn't see herself becoming friends with the man. He just simply got on her nerves too much.

"I asked Rebekah and Elijah to help the werewolves in the Bayou." Hayley tells her and Grace meets her eyes, furrowing her eyebrows.

"That's good, right? They'll get them out." Grace says and Hayley nods her head but Grace could tell that something was bothering her.

"I get Klaus wants to be in charge but this is not the way to do it." Hayley says as she shakes her head, crossing her arms against her chest.

"Hayley, he doesn't care about anyone but himself and maybe partially your child. He will do anything it takes." Grace points out as he didnt seem to have any hint of remorse for the wolves that he ordered the death of.

"I know. It's just so damn frustrating." Hayley says with a groan as she plants herself next to Grace on the couch. The blonde laughs as she looks towards the girl.

"Remember when we used to eat our feelings away?" Grace says as she raises an eyebrow at Hayley who smiles widely, nodding her head.

"Yeah, for a straight month whenever either of us was angry or sad, we would make the biggest icecream sundae and binge watch 'that 70's show'." Hayley states as she always loved those nights because it was always just the two of them. And they didn't even have to speak once, one of them would just hold up two spoons and the other would get it.

"Those were good times." Grace points out and Hayley nods her head in agreement. Grace was the first person that understood her, more than the friends she had known since preschool. She didn't know how, but Grace her seemed to get her immediately.

"I still think Hyde and Jackie were supposed to end up together." Hayley states as she scowls lightly. Grace laughs as she rests her head against hers.

"Yeah, the writers were such idiots." Grace says as she plays with the girls hair.

"I can't believe we've known each other for seven years." The brunette admits as it didn't seem that long to either of them.

"It feels like just yesterday you found me in the middle of the road." Grace tells her as she knew she owed Hayley her life. If they hadn't of found her, maybe she would be right back where she started.

"Sometimes I wonder if it was fate that brought us together because I can't imagine my life without you in it." Hayley says as she rests her head on the girls shoulder. Grace smiles, wrapping an arm around her as she looks at the fireplace. She didn't know if it was fate, or just dumb luck that they found each other. But she was glad they did. Her mind travels back to the night Grace and Hayley met.

Grace sat on the couch in the Marshall's house, her eyes glancing around the many photos littered on the shelves. She couldn't help but feel utterly devastated. Other people had life so easy, had parents who actually cared for them. Why couldn't she have that? What had she ever done to deserve the pain that she had suffered?

"So, my mom set up the guest bedroom for you. She set some pajamas for you to change into on the bed." Hayley says as she walks into the living room where Grace was sitting on the couch. Her eyes drift to the girls arm, her eyes widening when she sees two tattoos on it. They were small but visible. "Woah, are those real?" She asks with a gasp as she reaches out to touch her but Grace flinches away from her grasp. "Sorry, I just.. I've never seen people so young with tattoos before." Hayley states as around here, the only people with tattoos were drug users or people in their late twenties. No teenager she's met had gotten one. But Grace has them, one was a heart with many cracks in it and the other was a semi colon. "How old are you?" She asks gently as she sits beside the girl. Grace sighs as she looks towards Hayley.

"Fifteen." Grace tells her gently and Hayley nods her head, offering a kind smile.

"Cool. I'm thirteen." She replies and Grace only nods her head. "Are those why you ran away?" Hayley asks as she gestures to the tattoos. Grace looks down at them for a moment. The reason she had gotten them from a boy at school was because she had to remind herself to keep going.

The heart was the symbolize her own. The many cracks that her father had caused her. But no matter how many there were, her heart was still beating, she was still alive. And if she was still alive, she could escape from the hell she was living.

The semi colon reminded her to keep going even if she was pushed to her breaking point. She had to make it through this part of her life, even if she wanted to end it so many times. Grace knew that this wasn't all that life has to offer. There was a place for her to go where she could be happy, where she could start over. She just had to make it there. Because you aren't defined by your past.

"Part of it." Grace tells her and Hayley only fiddles with her fingers.

"Well, my mom promised she wouldn't call the police because she knows they'll most likely just take you back home." Hayley says, the police weren't exactly the brightest of the bunch. Even if you vividly described abuse, unless there was a record of it or they just had it in their hearts to believe you, they'd just take you back home and let it continue.

"I can never go back there." Grace states, shaking her head as she refused to look back now. Once she stepped foot out of that house, she knew she would never return. And if they ever tried to make her, that's when she would know it's time to stop. Stop everything.

"Did they hurt you?" Hayley asks carefully as she didn't want to spook the girl. Grace just turns her head to her, meeting her eyes. "You said you were in trouble, right?" She points out and Grace only offers a gentle smile.

"You don't need to worry yourself, Hayley." Grace assures her as she didn't want to trouble the girl with her pain.ย  "You seem to have a good family here." She states as she seemed happy with her parents and they actually seemed genuine towards her.

"Yeah.. but it's just me and my parents." Hayley points out with a small shrug and Grace nods her head.

"Me too." She mumbles as she never had a sense of having a sibling. Her parents had never even wanted children and yet she appeared as a surprise. Part of her thinks that she was the reason for her father's change of behaviour. Because her mom told her that he wasn't always cruel.

"Well, I have to go to bed because I have school tomorrow but, my doors always open if you want to come hang out." Hayley says as she gets up from the couch. Grace knew the girl wanted her to stay, it was obvious, but it just wasn't possible. She couldn't bring herself upon the girls parents.

"I'll most likely be gone in the morning." Grace points out making Hayley frown. Grace couldn't stay here, she knew Hayley's mom would end up having to either take her to the police station or somewhere else. And she couldn't be a burden on the family.

"Goodnight, Grace." Hayley says with a smile as she starts making her way up the stairs. Grace watches her, seeing the pep in her step that she never had. She could never be comfortable around her parents because since the moment she was born, all she's known is the torture.

"Goodnight." She says quietly before her eyes go back down the her hands.

Grace sat by Hayley, her head resting on top of the girls as she comes back to reality. She knew she had Hayley to thank for talking to her parents and letting her stay. But part of her wondered if maybe Hayley was better off without her.

If the whole word was better off without her.

GRACE MAKES HER WAY INTO THE VAMPIRE BAR WHERE SHE KNEW KLAUS AND MARCEL WERE. She notices them sitting together and talking about something but she couldn't hear what it was. "Boys." She says, catching their attention as they turn their heads to the girl. Marcel just rolls his eyes as he lets out a sigh.

"Oh, goody, it's you." Marcel states, his tongue dripping with sarcasm and his face was visibly annoyed. Grace only smirks as she leans towards him.

"Oh please, Marcel. I know you admire me really." Grace retorts making the man snort as he raises an eyebrow at her.

"Do I?" Marcel asks and she only nods her head, placing her hand on her hip.

"If you didn't, you would've already tried to kill me before Klaus took over." She points out and Marcel clenches his jaw for a moment before lightly smirking.

"You may be hot, but that doesn't mean I like you." Marcel points out as he rests back against his chair, not missing the glare that Klaus sent his way. Marcel didn't know why the original cared so much.

"Everyone likes me, darling." Grace tells him as she runs her finger along his jaw before taking a seat in the empty chair between them. Her eyes flicker to Klaus who was just trying to keep his calm as he watched the interaction. "Just ask Rebekah." She says with her smirk growing by the second. Klaus rolls his eyes as he pours more alcohol into his glass.

"I do not wish to speak of my excuse of a sister." He mutters as he meets the girls eyes. Grace only shrugs her shoulders, raising an eyebrow.

"What, I'm just saying that she likes me." Grace says before her face turns smug as she bites her bottom lip. "I mean really likes me." She insinuates as she tilts her head at the two men. They immediately knew what she was referring to and she could see the disgusted expression on Klaus' face while Marcel was more curious and had a hint of a smirk.

"I am not afraid to rip out your tongue, love." Klaus says as he didn't need to know how his sisters sex life. Grace laughs as she knew he would never lay a finger on her.

"And yet you protect me from your little vampire clan." She points out, referring to when he told them not to harm her. Klaus only clenches his jaw as he keeps his eyes on his glass. "Now, why is that?" Grace asks him, perking an eyebrow up at him and Klaus only rolls his eyes.

"Because I know if I let you die, Hayley will do whatever it takes to keep my child from me." Klaus explains to her and Grace only squints her eyes as she leans forward, her eye directly on his.

"Death is kind, I've suffered worse." Grace states, quoting her father as he always used to tell her that death was the kind way out for her. And that she didn't deserve kindness. Grace sits back, taking one of the glasses off of the table. She didn't see the look of recognition on Klaus' face as he saw a scar on her arm when her shirt opened up slightly. "This is on you two, correct?" She asks as she flickers her eyes between the vampires before drinking the liquid, letting it all pour down her throat before she puts the glass back on the table.

Klaus' phone rings making him sigh as he gets up from the table to answer it. He puts the phone to his ear, sharing a glance with Marcel. "Hello?" He asks and Grace simply drinks the liquid from Marcel's glass too making the vampire glare at her. She only smirks at him, sending a wink.

The windows suddenly blow in, glass scattering everywhere making Grace's eyes widen. She hears the screams of the vampires who were now on fire due to the sunlight hitting their skin directly. Marcel goes to grab some of them when gunshots ring out through the room. Grace barely had time to register any of this as she was pulled onto the ground roughly as the bullets fly past her. She covers her ears as she squeezes her eyes shut, her breath increasing every second.

Thirteen year old Grace stood next to her father in their back yard. It wasn't like she had any neighbors to talk to since they lived a few minutes from the town in the countryside. "What are we doing out here?" She asks as she glanced around, her palms rubbing against her pants as she knew something was going on.

"Just a little target practice." Her father responds and she looks over, only to see he had his gun in his hands. Her body freezes for a moment, her eyes just staring at the piece of metal. "Go stand over by the tree." He instructs as he gestures to the big oak tree in the middle of their yard.

"Why?" She asks, stupidly as she knew exactly why he wanted to her to be over there.

"Did I ask?" Robert says, his voice firm as he glares at the girl. "Get your ass over there!" He grabs her arm and pushes her forward. Grace walks towards the tree, knowing it was best not to argue. She stands beside it, closing her eyes for a moment before turning to meet her father.ย  "Now, tell me why I got a call from your teacher today." He says as he stares at her, his fists clenching around the bottom of the gun. Grace knew what he was talking about. Her teacher, who was a real bitch, told her she was going to call her dad because she was being loud in class. Which was not the truth at all. It was only because Grace chose to not take the bullshit that all the other kids did. She spoke back to her once and now the teacher was making her life a living hell.

"I didn't do anything." Grace says, her voice calm as she stared at the rage in her father's eyes. He only shakes his head, lifting the fun up.

"Wrong answer." Robert says as he pulls the trigger, the shot ringing through her ears as the bullet hits the tree next to her. Grace flinches slightly, but she knew she had to keep her ground because one slight movement could make him hit her.

"I didn't! She just uses any excuse to get us in trouble." Grace explains to him but he never listened to her. Even if all she said was the truth, he didn't believe her. He painted her out as the villain, even though it was truly him.

"I never taught you to fucking lie." Robert snaps as he pulls the trigger once again, grace closing her eyes as the shot rings off.

"I'm not lying!" Her voice was louder now but that only fuelled his anger, she knew she should never raise her voice but this whole situation was completely absurd.

"She said you were talking back to her." Robert states and Grace only scoffs as she bites the inside of her cheek.

"I wasn't!" She screams as he lets another bullet hit beside her. This time it brushed past her by a mere inch. Her father wasn't stopping thought just continuing to storm towards her.

"Tell the truth!" Robert shouts as he glares angrily at the girl, shooting once again making her squeeze her eyes shut.

"I am!" Grace pleads as she could hear the gun shots getting louder as he got closer to her.

"Tell me!" One last bullet leaves the gun, and this time it scrapes her arm making her gasp. Grace opens her eyes, looking down at her arm which was now bleeding. She holds her hand against it before she meets her father's angry gaze as he now stood directly in front of her. "You ever talk back again, I'll make sure you cant speak for a month. Are we clear?" Robert threatens as he presses the barrel of the gun underneath her jaw. She nods her head, knowing that he always went through with what he said. As she felt the cool metal on her skin, part of her was just hoping that he would shoot her, right here, right now. Grace didn't even care if he wasn't sent to jail, she just didn't want to be here anymore.

"Please." It was barely a whisper, it was mainly to god, if there even was a god. Grace lost faith a long time ago. Because if there was one up there, why would they just watch her go through this, time and time again and do nothing to help her? She has prayed more times than she can count and not once was her prayer answered.

"Oh, I see. You want me to shoot you, huh?" Robert laughs, a sinister smile on his face as he presses the gun harder against her. Grace clenches her jaw, she knew he had heard her but it was best not to speak. "Put you out of your misery?" Robert asks before scoffing and pulling the gun away from her. Grace could feel a tear run down her cheek. "Death is too kind for you." He says as he grabs at her jaw, pulling her close. Grace just stared back blankly before he threw her to the ground. "Now, get the fuck in the house." Robert snaps as he walks away from her, leaving the girl laying on the grass.

"Love, are you alright?" Klaus' voice brings her back to reality as she blinks a few times. Grace could feel the tears on her cheeks as she stares up at the original. She could actually see concern in his eyes but Grace knew it couldn't be real. Why would be care about what happened to her?

"Get the hell off of me." She snaps as she pushes his chest. Klaus only stands up, watching the girl follow in suit before brushing herself off. Klaus rolls his eyes, scoffing lightly.

"Sorry for saving your life." He mutters as he stares at the blonde. Grace only clenches her jaw as she meets his eyes. She wasn't going to allow him to believe he saved her. She wasn't asking to be saved.

"I didn't ask you to do that." Grace tells him and Klaus only lets out a humourless laugh as he shakes his head, his eyebrows furrowing.

"Oh, I was supposed to just let you get gunned down then?" Klaus asks with anger in his tone as he thought that she would have a completely different reaction to him taking literal bullets for her.

"Don't ever try and save me again." She states as she pushes against his chest. Klaus only bites the inside of his cheek. If she were anyone else and not Hayley's sister, her heart would be across the room.

"Won't be a problem." Klaus sneers at her as he glares down at the woman. Did she not have the ability to just allow herself to be saved? Did she have a death wish and that's why she didn't even try moving out of the way? He takes a step closer to her, his gaze harsh. "Get out." He snaps at her and Grace only scoffs before shoving past him and heading towards the exit. Truth be told, she didn't know if she wanted to die. She wasn't scared of death but she knew she couldn't leave Hayley. That was the one thing keeping her here.

But Grace always felt like it was the easy way out. To end her suffering once and for all. Because no matter how long it's been or how good her life becomes, her past would always haunt her.

She would never be able to live her life freely until she broke the cycle.
