GRACE STARES INTO THE MIRROR, her eyes moving over the slight scrapes that she had gotten from the glass. She clenches her jaw, seeing the tears in her eyes. Grace only blinks a few times before forcing a smile onto her face. She tilts her head, pushing the tears back down as she couldn't let it overtake her. If she did, then she would never stop getting flashbacks of her father. Because that would just be the beginning.

Hearing a knock, Grace turns her head, seeing Hayley standing there with a concerned look on her face. "Grace, is everything okay?" She asks as she moves into the room, stopping beside her. Grace only smiles at her sister as she gives her a nod.

"Everything's fine, sugar." Grace assures her but Hayley could see the blood that was on her sleeve. She immediately assumed the worst as she clenches her fist.

"No, it's not." Hayley points out as she gestures to her arm. Grace glances down, seeing the blood and she only clears her throat.

"Just a little hiccup is all." She states as she shakes her head, not wanting her sister to worry about her but of course it was inevitable.

"Did something happen?" Hayley asks as she furrows her eyebrows. Suddenly anger fills her eyes as she thinks of a possible scenario. "Did Klaus do something?" Her voice was accusatory as she knew Klaus was capable of hurting her.

"The only thing Klaus can do to me is give me an incessant headache." Grace mutters with a sigh as Klaus promised Hayley he wouldn't lay a finger on her and so far he hasn't.

"You don't have to hide your pain from me. You know this." Hayley tells her as she places a hand on her shoulder. Grace only sighs as she lifts her eyes to meet her sisters gaze. "Is it your dad?" She asks, wondering if something had triggered a flashback. But Grace didn't like telling her when she had them, because she didn't want to take the focus off of something important. And right now, Hayley and her baby were the important ones.

"My dad is not a problem, he hasn't been in a while. I just got a little homesick is all." Grace admits as it wasn't a complete lie. She did miss New York but she would rather spend fifty years in New Orleans helping Hayley, then a lifetime not knowing if she is safe in New York.

"You don't have to stay here if you don't want to." Hayley says as she didn't want the girl to feel forced just because she asked her to come. She was on better terms with the originals now. Well, she was but she didn't know how Elijah would react to the news she had for him.

"Of course I want to." The blonde replies with a smile as she takes Hayley's hand in hers, giving it a squeeze.

"You have a life, I'm certain Jenna doesn't want you gone for months." Hayley knew how jenna could get it Grace was away for a long time but Grace didn't care at this point. Hayley always came first. Always.

"I am not going anywhere." Grace assures her as she shakes her head. Hayley smiles back before the girl turns back to her desk. The brunette's smile faded as she walks out of the room, heading down the stairs and into the parlor where she knew Klaus was.

"What did you do to my sister?" She asks as soon as her foot steps into the room. Hayley could see him on the couch so she knew he heard her.

"I did nothing, little wolf." Klaus responds as he keeps his eyes on what he was drawing. Hayley scoffs as she crosses her arms against her chest.

"You definitely did something because I know for a fact, you were the last person that she was with." Hayley points out and Klaus only rolls his eyes as he places his sketch book on the table, crossing his leg over the other and grabbing his glass off of the table.

"All I did was heroicly save her life and got not even a thank you in return." He tells her but Hayley only glares at him, shaking her head.

"There's always a catch with you." Hayley says as she places her hand on her hip.

"There was no catch, Hayley." Klaus admits as he never once threatened the girl, why would he? Well, she did piss him off at times and made him want to rip her heart out, but he wouldn't actually do it.

"I can tell something is wrong with her so what did you do?" Hayley asks, her voice firm this time as she steps closer to the man.

"Maybe it's her inability to allow someone to help her." Klaus tells the girl who only clenches her jaw. Hayley knew Grace could be closed off at times but if he ever put a hand on her or said the wrong thing, she would end him. Once she figured out how to.

"Klaus, I swear if you--" Hayley starts to threaten but Klaus only rolls his eyes, letting out a sigh as he didn't need to argue with the wolf about something that never happened.

"I have done nothing but assure the safety of you and your sister and here you are, once again, creating false lies." Klaus states as he looks at the girl, anger in his eyes. "If something is wrong with her, I had nothing to do with it." He admits as he bites the inside of his cheek. Hayley sighs as she crosses her arms against her chest. "Maybe it's the scar on her arm that did it." Klaus mutters as he brings the glass to his lips, taking a drink. Hayley freezes, her eyes going wide as she hears him.

"What?" She asks as she just stared at the man. Klaus stands up from the couch, walking over to the werewolf.

"I noticed the scar on her arm, rather interesting." Klaus says as he stops in front of her, raising an eyebrow before simply walking past her.

ELIJAH WALKS TO GRACE'S ROOM, wanting to speak to the girl since he had overheard his brother and Hayley speaking earlier. He wanted to make sure everything was okay and that Klaus was truly minding the boundaries. He sees the girl leant over the table, staring at an image in her hand. He brings his hand up to the door, knocking lightly which made her glance over at him.
"

Grace." He says with a nod and Grace got a faint smile on her lips. She wouldn't say she disliked Elijah but she wasn't just going to befriend him either. They were in the more neutral territory.

"Elijah, hi." Grace responds as she places the photo down, taking a deep breath. Elijah furrows his eyebrows as he leans against the doorframe.

"Are you all right?" Elijah asks her, curious as to what was bothering her. Grace only shakes her head as she brings her hand up to brush her hair out of her face.

"Im fine." She mumbles as she rests her head back for a minute.

"You don't seem fine." He points out and Grace only scoffs as she rolls her eyes.

"Can people stop telling me how I feel?" She asks, the next person who did, she seriously would punch them in the face.

"Did something happen with Niklaus?" Elijah asks as he watches her closely but Grace only brings her hands to her head, squeezing her eye closed.

"God, nothing happened with you're brother." She groans as she didn't need everyone asking about it. Klaus didn't really do anything wrong, frankly quite the opposite. But she just didn't want say it out loud.

"I'm assuming Hayley already spoke to you." Elijah mutters as it wasn't a big stretch since Hayley seemed to be angry at Klaus and the only way she could have made an assumption is if she talked to Grace. "Keeping everything in is never a good thing to do." He tells her as he saw it first hand what it was like to keep all of your emotions in until one day you just burst and impact everyone around you.

"And what would you know about me?" Grace questions as she places a hand on her hip, turning to face him. Elijah only puts his hands in his pockets.

"I know that you're overprotective of Hayley, maybe to the point where you feel the need to withhold parts of your life or your emotions from her and everyone around you." Elijah explains to her as he watches her eyes for any sign of emotion or dilation.

"I want to keep her safe. That's all I've ever wanted to do." She retorts as she scoffs a little bit, taking a step towards the original.

"And how can you do that when you so eagerly make an enemy of what seems to be every vampire in this town." Elijah says and she only lets a smirk onto her lips. She definitely saw Elijah's point, Marcel and Klaus weren't exactly fond of her either.

"I wouldn't say I made an enemy of every vampire." Grace states as she tilts her head, knowing Rebekah definitely did not hate her one bit, exact quite the opposite.

"Right, just the ones that you see an aspect of your father in." Elijah tells her and she clenches her jaw at his comment. Grace couldn't exactly say he was wrong as most guys she either turned down or made an enemy of was because they were either violent, cocky, or always looked down on women.

Grace only scoffs, biting the inside of her cheek before she takes a step closer to Elijah. "Elijah, either put your mouth to good use or just shut the hell up." She says as she glanced down his body for a moment before meeting his eyes. Elijah kept his composure, only raising an eyebrow at her. But she could see the amusement in his eyes and the small smirk that formed.

"Do you often use sexual remarks to cover up what you truly feel?" Elijah asks her as he could see that she was trying to deflect the question. Grace only bites her lip, smirking up at him as she places her hand on the man's belt.

"Only with the attractive ones who don't know when to mind their own business." Grace responds as she takes another step closer to him. Elijah only challenges her as he too takes a step closer. He brings his hand down to hers, grabbing it and pulling it off of him.

"Perhaps you feel the need to pick a fight with every man you meet because of unresolved issues with men in your life." He states as he puts her hand back down at her side, gazing down at the girl. She squints her eyes for a moment, trying not to be affected by his words.

Yes, Grace never resolved the issue with her father. She had just run away from him. But how do you resolve something with that man? The only logical thing she could think of was to kill him. Or torture him. Or both. Grace honestly have stabbed the knife in his eye when she had the chance.

"I don't have many men in my life so I don't know how it'd be possible to have any issues with them." Grace retorts as she keeps her face neutral. Elijah only gazes down at her, tilting his head as he knew of one person who might have caused this behaviour. "Now, I was busy before you rudely interrupted." She tells him, her voice blunt as she turns away from him and sits by the table. Grace doesn't even glance back at the man but she knew Elijah was stood there for a minute or two longer.

Elijah wanted to say something more but he knew that Grace would either just continue with the sexual innuendos or would just shut down completely. So, he decides to just leave the room, letting the girl continue with the case she was working on.

HAYLEY WAS WALKING TOWARDS REBEKAH WITH GRACE BY HER SIDE. They had just heard that Davina had left without telling anyone, which, Grace thought it was just a matter of time. I mean, who keeps someone locked in an attic even if she's being hunted by witches. Just protect her normally, Marcel did have a million vampires at his disposal. "So, the witch is missing huh?" Hayley asks as they stop next to Rebekah who was shuffling through the dresses on the rack she had brought to practically shove onto grace. Rebekah sighs as she glanced towards the pair.

"Walked right out the front door, apparently. Know anything about it?" Rebekah asks as she moves her eyes between them. Grace raises an eyebrow because she was the last person to know where the witch was. She'd never even met her.

"No but I did tell her the witch elders were dead." Hayley points out as she thought Davina had the right to know. And she also thought Davina would be able to break the spell that Marcel had casted on her family to keep them in wolf form except on full moons.

"Well, why would she care? The witches tried to kill her in their ritual." Rebekah points out as she didn't understand why Davina would care if the elders were dead. It was more of a celebration than anything.

"I think it was more that Marcel didn't tell her that the one thing preventing her from being free had been eliminated." Hayley corrects and Rebekah only smirks, laughing slightly.

"So, you are the reason she's run off." Rebekah says as she raises an eyebrow at the wolf who only rolls her eyes, holding up her hands in defense.

"Hey, I was just telling her the truth. She's the one who realized that they were only using her to keep their control over the witches." Hayley explains to them as she shrugs her shoulders. Grace shakes her head, moving her mouth to the side. Of course they just wanted to use Davina, what else would old vampires who don't know how to treat people with common decency act?

"Wow, yet another reason to dislike men." Grace says as she places her hand on her hip. Hayley just glanced at her, chuckling lightly with a smirk on her lips.

"Men, or Klaus?" She asks as she knew her sister had a strong disliking towards the original. Grace only smirks back at her, shrugging her shoulders.

"Yeah, well. I've never been a fan of the boys club. Just wait, Elijah will join them and then the three of them will be impossible." Rebekah mumbles as she shakes her head, her jaw clenching. Hayley and Grace share a glance before staring at Rebekah. "Used by the witches, lied to by Marcel, manipulated by Elijah, threatened by Klaus, she's like a modern day casket girl." She states as she glares at the men who were in the courtyard.

"Are you talking about Davina or yourself?" Hayley asks as she could sense the anger in the woman's tone. She knew Rebekah wanted to help Davina but it sounded more like she was the one wanted revenge on her brothers.

"Does it matter?" Rebekah retorts as she lets out a sigh, glancing at the boys one more time. "Either way us girls gotta stick together." She states as she raises an eyebrow at the two girls. Grace only smiles, shaking her head. "Now, what are you wearing?" Rebekah asks, her eyes landing on Grace who only looks at her confused.

"To what?" Grace asks her but she did regret it since she knew Rebekah would make her attend whatever it was.

"The festival." The original says bluntly before gesturing to the rack of dresses next to her. "I have a lot of pretty dresses for you to try." Rebekah points out and Grace only shakes her head, giving a tight smile.

"I don't wear dresses." It wasn't like she never wore them, she just didn't wear them often. She usually wore them around Hayley only because Hayley never judges or ask questions about her body.

"Why not? I'm sure you'd look damn sexy in one." Rebekah tells her with a wink and Grace just rubs her hands together.

"It's just not my style." Grace admits and Rebekah just stared at her, a little bit confused for a moment before she remembers the night that they had slept together.

"Because of your scars? You know scars are badass." Rebekah points out as she shrugs her shoulders. She hadn't really said much when she first saw them but Grace shouldn't be ashamed of them. "Means you survived what most people wouldn't." She states and Hayley only furrows her eyebrows, flickering her eyes between the pair.

"How do you know about her scars?" Hayley asks as she knew that wasn't a topic that Grace just knowingly talked about. Grace's eyes meet Rebekah's, and she just slowly shakes her head. She knew Hayley had warned her about getting involved with any original, it wasnt like Grace regretted sleeping with Rebekah but she didn't need Hayley on her ass about it.

"She told me." Rebekah responds and Grace just wants to facepalm because that was the worst excuse that the original could've gave. It only made Hayley more suspicious as she crosses her arms against her chest.

"She doesn't tell anyone." She retorts and Rebekah only moves her gaze to Grace who was biting her bottom lip as she tried to think of something.

"I let it slip when we had a bit too much wine to drink." Grace tells her sister who only squints her eyes for a moment. She looks back at Rebekah who was just giving a tight smile.

"Hm." Hayley didn't quite believe her but decided to let it go. Rebekah decided to change the subject, holding up a dress to Grace who just looked at her with a shake of her head.

"So...? At least try this one on." Rebekah says as she holds it up against Graces body. The blonde bites the inside of her cheek as she knew Rebekah would not stop insisting until she said yes.ย  "Please, for me." She pouts making Grace roll her eyes as she glanced down at the dress the original was holding.

"Fine." She mutters as she grabs the dress from her. Rebekah only smirks as she watches the girl walk inside in order to change into it.

GRACE WAS STANDING IN HER BEDROOM, looking into the mirror as she tilts her head. She runs her hands along the dress that Rebekah had handed to her. It was red, which was her favourite colour, but she just didn't like how much skin it showed off. Grace wasn't one to dress conservatively, but the way this dress fit on her, it showed off way too many of the scars that she always tried to keep covered. Because if people see her scars, they ask questions. Just like Rebekah did.

But there were simply too many to always keep covered. Her father made sure of that. There were some on her thighs, arms, stomach, back and along her shoulder blades. Some were pretty small, and not very noticeable while others stood out like a sore. So, Grace had a black jacket in her hand to cover them up.

Her eyes goes to a figure behind her who was leaning against the door frame. She sighs as she turns her head, seeing that it was Klaus only watching her closely. "I see Rebekah has pulled you into her little charade." Klaus states as he crosses his arms against his chest. Grace rolls her eyes at him as she put one of her arms in the sleeve of the jacket.

"What do you want?" Grace asks in annoyance as she glanced away from him. Klaus shrugs his shoulders as he enters the room, his eyes running curiously over the girl.

"Just came to say hello." Klaus says as he watches her put the jacket on her body. He only smirks as he stops next to her. "You look magnificent, why cover up?" He asks as he brings his eyes down her body for a moment and she only scoffs, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Maybe because I don't want gawking eyes from predatory men." She retorts bluntly as she places a hand on her hip. Klaus squints his eyes as he moves his gaze to hers. But he still had a smug look on his face as he places his hand on his chest.

"I just gave you a compliment, love, and yet you insult me?" Klaus teases with smirk playing on his lips. Grace just gives him a tight smile as she crosses her arms against her chest.

"Ironic, isn't it?" Grace tells him and he only shakes his head as he moves behind the girl. His hand goes to the jacket, pulling it down slightly.

"I'm sure my sister would love to see some skin-" He starts to taunt when she rips herself from his grasp. Klaus had seen the scars before she moved her jacket to cover them. It wasn't just one on her arm. She was covered in them.

"Don't touch me." Her voice sounded fragile and angry at the same time but Klaus knew he had crossed a line. He didn't realize it until he did it.

"My apologies." Klaus states as he holds up his hands in defence. He watches as the girl holds the jacket tightly around her. He could see the signs from a mile away but he knew how hard it was to talk about. After all, he dealt with abuse himself.

"Can you just leave, I want to change." She mutters as she keeps her eyes on the ground, blinking a few times to keep her composure. Klaus bites the inside of his cheek, glancing around the room before settling his eyes back on Grace.

"You know, my father hated me since I was born because I was the son of a werewolf my mother cheated on him with." Klaus starts, seeing the way Grace's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She didn't know why he had told her that and frankly she didn't care. "He would beat me, belittle me, even try to rid me from this planet." He states and Grace could feel her body tense as she keeps her eyes away from his. "In fact he spent centuries hunting us down until we finally put an end to him recently. My scars heal but-" Klaus was interrupted as Grace spins to meet his gaze and her face was a rather unhappy one as she glares at him.

"I didn't ask to hear your life story." She snaps with a scoff as she shakes her head. "You know nothing about my life so can you just stop pretending like you care?" Grace asks with anger seeping out of her voice. Klaus sighs as he glanced down at his feet. "Leave me the hell alone." She mutters as she turns back towards the mirror in order to keep her back to him. Klaus nods his head slightly, putting his hands in his pockets.

"As you wish, love." Klaus replies as he stares at her for a moment before walking towards the door. Although, he stops when he gets to the frame, glancing back at Grace. Klaus softly sighs as he offers a gentle smile. "You really do look beautiful." And with that, he walks out of the room. Leaving Grace to just stare at herself in the mirror, her eyes drifting to the dress once again.

She can't stop the hint of a smile that formed on her lips as she brushes her hands over the fabric.
