Chapter 11
A Week Later :
The weather was terrible. Just terrible. It kept raining, I had to cover my hair on the way to school so it won't get wet. Thunder kept roaring above us, but we didn't pay much attention to it.
The tall, dark-skinned girl from earlier was named Donia, and boy, she was just amazing. She understood everything we said, and she had her own problems. She had a boyfriend whom she can never talk to named Ahmed. I can never imagine myself in such situation, so I thought she was a hero or something. As you all know, I just can't survive without talking to Barron.
Did her story inspired me ? Yup. Her parents are very strict, and they think it's shameful for a girl to talk to guy, because most Egyptian parents think so. I didn't blame them though, some of the Egyptian guys are perverts. (no offense) and she thought it was cool that I have a boyfriend whom my parents approve of.
I don't really know, but if mine and Barron's parents weren't friends, would we be together ? A new question.
However, I sat next to Aya, Donia and Farida, listening carefully to Miss Manar, our Arabic teacher, who kept going on and on about how studying is important.
A few days ago, they said that it was okay for us all to sit in the same class, so here we go.
We were sitting together in a tiny square of desks, and the problem was, that Judy had to be in my face the whole time. I'm sure Miss Manar noticed, but she ignored it, and kept explaining the lesson.
Of course, she thought we were just being immature.
We had the classroom door wide open, and then Manar asked me to write the lesson on the board. I agreed.
Anything to make me stay away from Judy.
The thunder roared dramatically as I started writing with the black temporary marker on the board.
Wow. Great weather.
Just then, I swore I saw something flying outside our class. As usual, I thought I imagined it, but when I saw the others' shocked expression, I knew it wasn't my imagination.
I excused myself and went out of the classroom to check. At first, I only saw water dripping from the side of the building. Too much rain, I thought. But then I saw what flied across the hallway.
A painting.
A stupid painting.
I saw Hayden's creeped-out expression as he kneeled down to pick it up, Johnny by the other side to help wrap it up.
Yeah, okay. I was confused for nothing.
I felt Farida and the others by my side, trying to figure out what fell, or flied.
"is everyone okay ?"
I asked as I walked towards them. They all nodded.
I started to wrap the painting with the others, when I saw something.
A person.
A person staring at us from the end of the hallway.
When I squinted hard into the view, I realized that it wasn't just any person.
"Mars..?"
To Be Continued..
