Remember me when I was young and fresh?

Our faces brimmed with smiles and the free ecstasy youth brought.

We were so alight, even the stars shied from the sky, like two galaxies forming in unison.

Remember me when I wanted to whisper those three words, but withdrew,

Afraid of the war marring flesh into coals.

Were too terrified of the outer war that the inner one was lost,

Before even we could share a few more secrets.
