SUMMARY!

Florence Dashwood was never particularly outspoken. She was subdued, observant — a gentleman's dream wife in the affluent society in which she dwelled.

       Desperate to escape the hustle and bustle of London, she sets out for Paris so she can see something of the world before she is condemned to a life behind the doors of a grand manor, of a traditional wife.

        However, when she arrives, she does not encounter the art and culture, that she had believed to define the capital city. Instead, she stumbles across the foundations of an uprising that are stemming from a certain group of boys in her uncle's politics class — and a certain statuesque individual at its centre.

       Although, despite his impressive exterior and drive for change, Florence is massively disappointed by the ill-mannered and ungentlemanly nature accompanies this.

       Amid politics lectures, society meetings, plans for an uprising and secret affairs, Florence soon learns — having been convinced by those around her — that there is more to the marble man and the world around her.

PLOT POINTS TO CONSIDER!

— NOT A PLOT POINT BUT I ADORE SYNNØVE KARLSEN SO MUCH AND SHE IS SO UNDERUSED A FACE CLAIM

— Florence leaves London with the intention of learning more of the world and its cultures before she returns to be betrothed.

— She stays with her uncle and cousin, Augustin and Gigi Chévalier. Augustin is a politics professor at the University of Paris, and is the professor of our lovely boys of Les Amis de l'ABC

— Florence is very observant and notices the little things in people, causing people to feel very drawn to her as she sees right through them

— Florence doesn't do well with speaking in front of large numbers of people, and is far more at home in her own company with a book than in large crowded areas.

— Gigi is very contrasting to her cousin and is somewhat of a socialite and is very popular among the boys in her father's class, so much so that she has been involved with Courfeyrac for sometime, little to the knowledge of her father.

— Gigi is always invited to the meetings of Les Amis and forces Florence to come with her, which she initially protests but soon gives in after deciding it's opportunity to see more of the city.

       — Florence often sits in on her uncle's lectures ( as he fully supports her thirst for knowledge ) and makes frequent use of the university library.

       — While Gigi is far more concerned with attending the meetings to see the boys, Florence soon becomes capTVEITed ( see what i did there?) with the cause they preach, especially after being exposed to the streets and becoming very shaken.

       — As the story progresses, she should become more outspoken and begin to break out of her shell, something that Enjolras helps her with, while  she aids her with researching for his speeches.

       — It's up to you whether she ( or any of the other boys ) survives the barricade.
