The girl stared at him with stoic expression. She should expect this.

"Oh, I forgot..." the girl responded to him, as if she had never heard of this before.

Of course, she hadnโ€™t! Before coming to Japan, she had been living in non-Muslim countries, so naturally...

"Uh, you know what? Iโ€™m in a rush right now, and Iโ€™m not in the mood for a lecture..." She laughed as she spoke, and there was some truth to her words. She waved him off and turned to leave, heading for her shoes.

The boy stood still, watching her as she ran toward the exit.

He was left standing there, confused by the strange feeling he had about this "stranger." Putting a finger to his chin, he thought hard.

She looks familiar... but where have I seen her before? Slowly, he started walking in the opposite direction.

"Hmm... SHOOT, I HAVE VOLLEYBALL PRACTICE TODAY!" With that, he sprinted off but couldnโ€™t resist glancing at her disappearing shadow from afar.

She kept running, her feet pounding against the pavement. After several minutes, she finally slowed to a walk, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. The crowds had thinned, and she couldn't help but smile.

"Less people here," she muttered to herself.

But it wasnโ€™t just the people she was avoiding. She was also on the lookout for a familiar brown house with a golden luxury gate, flanked by a mini botanical garden.

She passed house after house until, at last, she spotted itโ€”her house. With a smile on her face, she walked toward it, but her gaze caught a convenience store nearby.

Maybe she should stop by there sometime. Who knows? Maybe her soulmate is waiting for her...

"Uh, are you going inside, or do you want to sleep outside?"

She froze at the sound of her brotherโ€™s voice, and when she looked up, she saw him standing at the doorstep with a smug grin. Ugh, Kaito.

"Ugh, shut up, you goofball. Iโ€™m going inside," she snapped, walking toward the door, only to be blocked by her brother.

"Well, then, excuse me..." Kaito smirked at her, his expression one of playful challenge. But to him, Name wasnโ€™t so scaryโ€”her clumsiness and stubbornness were what made her entertaining.

She shot him a deadly look, but Kaito wasnโ€™t intimidated. He smirked even more smugly. "Well, what are you going to do about it? Ugh, you peasant."

The words made her blood boil, but she took a deep breath, reminding herself, Patience is half of faith.

Ignoring him, she tried to walk past him, but she realized her brother was still gripping her bag.

A sigh escaped her lips. "Maybe I need to fight to the death today."

"Ouch, Mom! That hurts..." Kaito whined, his voice almost childish.

"That's what you get for blocking me," Name said, matter-of-factly.

Kaito sprawled out on the couch, crossing his legs with a small "hmph," while their mom attended to his minor injuries.

Name heard his little grunt of annoyance and couldn't help herself. "Ugh, what are you, a baby?"

"What? Are you jealous that Momโ€™s taking care of my wound? Heh."

Hearing this made Name see red. She gritted her teeth and hurled a cushion at him.

"Enough, Iโ€™m going to sleep," she said, storming upstairs. Her brother didnโ€™t even try to stop her. He didnโ€™t care at all.

Their mom could only chuckle at this childish back-and-forth.

When Name entered her bedroom, she was about to slam the door but paused. She remembered a story her mother once told her about a "rebellious" child. Only Allah knew how terrifying she felt in that moment.

Locking the door behind her, she flopped onto the mattress and sat up, ruffling her hair in frustration.

"Gah! I hate him! Ugh, if only heโ€™d keep his mouth shut!" she muttered, chewing nervously on her nails.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.

"Huf, but nothing in the past can be undone. All I can do is move forward. I forgive him."

She fixed her mattress, placed two pillows on her side, and hugged her pillow.

She glanced at the clock. "Itโ€™s already nighttime... well, I guess thatโ€™s enough for today. Bismillah," she whispered, pulling the blanket over herself.
